I have not discontinued this story! I'm aware of people thinking I'm discontinuing stories because I haven't updated them in a while, but please be aware that I'm not! As many writers on here will tell you, we get an idea for a story, and we have to just write it down as quick as possible before we lose that one. And there are also times when we just blank out on a story or somewhat lose interest in one, *looks back at Outworld's Black Hole, An Impactful Quirk, and A Second Chance with a frown* I've also been busy with switching jobs. So without further ado, chapter 5 of my ever changing story title, Sins of the Emperor! Disclaimer: I do not own One Piece or Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel. Those are owned respectively by Eiichiro Oda and VivizePop.
All seemed to be well in Heaven. The holy spirits that ascended to heaven were mingling with each other, talking about various topics. That is, it seemed to be well. It didn't go unnoticed that the angels had a stricter scheduling and curfew set in place, as well as the increasing number of soldiers, exterminators, and other militaristic looking angels.
C.H.E.R.U.B. HQ was having a field day. Deerie was telling the C.H.E.R.U.B. agents Cletus, Collin and Keenie that they wouldn't be coming back before a voice stopped them.
"Let them come back Deerie. It indeed was an accident." Michael said softly. "I believe them when they say they were fighting a trio of imp demons. They may have failed in keeping Mr. Lipton alive, but they did garner important information about what Hell is doing now."
Deerie frowned softly but nodded. "Okay Saint Michael, they can come back." The three C.H.E.R.U.B. agents cheered and came back through the portal before sitting in front of Saint Michael who had a smile on his face. "Now, how about you tell us what happened down there you three?"
IMP HQ at the same time
Newgate sighed as he had approached the building, seeing that part of the building had collapsed in on itself again. 'Damn inventors thinking they can do what they want because they're "geniuses".' He really didn't want to be here again; the last time he was here he had to settle a dispute between Blitzø and Verosika Mayday. Apparently the succubus girl that he had helped cheer up and allowed to rise back up in the music industry was Blitz's ex-girlfriend that he had told him about when they first met.
'A demon duel of all things, and that attention from them brought all those supernatural snoops out. You'd think that the both of them would learn to be more cautious with the human world, especially nowadays. AND ALL OVER A DAMN PARKING SPOT!' Those were Shirohige's thoughts as he stood at the entrance of the building.
He expanded the building's parking lot, as well as increasing the building's size, to further accommodate more businesses, and as well hopefully keep Verosika and Blitz out of each other's hair. And here he was again, dealing with another issue from IMP.
He entered the lobby area as Loona stomped out. "Hate those fuckers." He heard her mutter before he entered the office area. He saw the hole in the wall and with a sigh, snapped his fingers to reverse the damage.
"Blitz… explain now." He set a human newspaper down, showing the opera house stage where IMP and C.H.E.R.U.B. were fighting each other over Lyle Lipton's life. To the human eyes, it would appear to be a faulty stage set-up, but with Newgate's eyes, he saw that the paper had them and the little angel creatures fighting. Blitz gulped softly as Millie helped up Moxxie, Newgate's eyes scanning over them as they did seem to have fresh injuries.
Moxxie rubbed her head softly before looking at the 2nd highest power in all of Hell. "E-Emperor Newgate, that wasn't our fault!" Newgate held a hand up. "I'm aware of you operating with MY book to take assassination jobs up on Earth, as evidenced by the "duel" you had with Verosika, but the paranormal investigators are going to be hounding this place just like they did with the beach."
Newgate looked at Blitz with a small glare. "So what happened?" "These little freaks who are calling themselves C.H.E.R.U.B. happened. It was supposed to be a simple job, hell the old coot was going to kill himself for us until those little angel bastards showed up."
Newgate raised an eyebrow. "Did you kill them?" Blitz rubbed his arm. "Well, the bastard ended up dead, but no… we didn't kill the three angels." Newgate pinched his nose and sighed. "Oh this just made things even worse…" He muttered lowly. "Heaven's going to react to this Blitz, I hope you know this."
"Psh, what are those uppity angels going to do? That man was worse than scum and deserved to be down here." Blitz said, uncaringly. Moxxie gulped and fixed his collar. "Um sir…. Haven't you noticed that people seem to be tense around Imp city?"
Newgate pulled out his phone and showed them the picture of the burned demon corpse. "This was sent to my office a few years ago." Normally the imps wouldn't care about it but hearing that it was sent directly to the Emperor of Hell's office made the three shirk back in slight trepidation.
"The handiwork I recognize as an old adversary, one I haven't fought since I was alive. The magma bloodhound of Earth's marines from the 1500s is in Heaven. Admiral Akainu, a man who was so vile with his way of Absolute Justice, is training the angels for war." Newgate stated grimly as Loona dropped her phone in shock.
She quickly re-grabbed it and went scrolling through information before finding something. "Is this him? This guy made an anime series called One Piece that Octavia seems interested in." Newgate scanned over the image, before nodding. "Aye, that's him. I'm impressed that this human fellow could accurate write a story about the past events of the world, even if he thinks it was just a made up world he came up with."
Newgate had all four of them sit down as he crossed his fingers together, elbows on the table. "Now I know you four don't get along too, too often, but you're going to have to start put the full effort that all four of you have into being as discreet as possible with this jobs. Enemies will be made here in Hell, of which I can redirect, but I cannot redirect the enemies that you would make on Earth or in Heaven without the notice of Heaven's intelligence office, RIPD."
Newgate saw the serious looks and continued. "Blitz, I know you have a lot going on in your head right now but tell them everything. And I mean everything, about your sister and your mother, your relationship with your ex-girlfriend that tried to frame you for an unjust murder as well as what happened to cause you and Verosika to hate each other."
Blitz looked down and rubbed his arm, causing the three to look at him with shock upon hearing that Blitz was almost sentenced to final execution. "You four are a family now, you must have full trust in each other and cover each other's backs. All four of you will be enrolled in medical courses to ensure that you can aid each other in case someone gets hurt."
Newgate pulled out a series of folders and set them on the table. He slid one to Millie, Moxxie and Loona. "Loona, I want you to go with Moxxie with his hand to hand classes." Loona opened up the folder to see a woman with white hair and blacked out sunglasses, dressed up in a suit. "Why do you want me to- ""That is Justice, the former high prosecutor of Hell." Loona shut her mouth with shock.
"Blitz has trained with her before, and Moxxie is currently training with her. She's the best hand to hand combat fighter that we have down here, as well as being a powerhouse such as myself with demonic empowerment spells."
She nodded softly at Moxxie squeezed Millie's hand. Millie opened hers up and a look of confusion appeared on her face. "I don't recognize this fella."
"You wouldn't." Newgate chuckled softly. "Gabriel Reyes, known to many as Reaper. He's a close range gunner, armed with an infinite supply of shotguns that whenever he runs out of bullets in the two that he uses, he uses them as blunt weapons before throwing them away."
Millie hummed softly in thought. "I figured with you being the up and close fighter that you are that you'd need a way to gun people down as well. And what's a little fun with shotgun shrapnel right?" Edward smirked as Millie's eyes lightened up.
"Moxxie, I want you to continue with Justice's lessons. They're coming together quite well, but you need to make sure you keep up with your other skills as well." Moxxie nodded his head with determination.
"Blitz, I want you to start training again." Blitz went to say something but stopped, thinking about his past, before nodding his head. "I know you stopped training when you adopted Loona, but I want you to start again. Tell them everything like I said and inform Stolas of my decree. I want him and his family to be ready as well; Akainu won't leave any of us alive if he has his way, especially if he combines his Absolute Justice with the ways of the High Heavens."
Blitz narrowed his eyes. "I won't let those fuckers ever touch my Loonie, or any of my family. I might be estranged from my mother and Barbie Wire, but I'm not going to let some angelic assholes kill them!"
Newgate frowned and stood up. "The sins of my own past have come back to haunt me, and I'll be damned even more if I'm not fully prepared for it this time. The blood feuds that have plagued Hell must end, for the very survival of Hell is at stake here." He left IMP with those final words, the four employees of the Immediate Murder Professions having a determined look on their faces that have never been seen before.
Verosika's studio, a few minutes later
Newgate knocked on the door to Verosika's recording studio, a few groans being heard from behind the door. A dark gray hellhound opened the door. "Yes what is- "He looked up with a gulp. "Um Verosika, your boss is here."
Newgate walked in, seeing Verosika's posse as they looked at him with wide and fearful eyes. Verosika downed her drink and looked at him with a small trace of fear in her eyes. "Whatever that limp-dicked idiot downstairs told you…" She stopped as she saw his serious eyes as she sobered up. "Oh shit you're serious about something, you're never like that."
Newgate looked at them all. "One hellhound, and most of you all are succubi or incubi. I understand that your powers come from lust and all that, but lust will not be enough."
"You never show up here unless it's something that requires your attention. What's the situation Pops?" Verosika said with an oddly serious tone. "You need to put everything aside; Heaven is making its move."
Verosika scoffed, "Seriously pops, you're listening to those idiots now? They spew that end of the world stuff every century or so." "Not this time, I believe it." He gave her his phone with the message Akainu had sent him. Verosika saw it and sweated a bit.
"Oh this is serious. No one has the balls to go against you, well, except maybe that strawberry pimp Alastor. Or even that cuck-head Valentino, but this… this is something entirely different."
Newgate nodded his head. "An old enemy has returned and I'm not losing my family again. I lost one of my sons due to a lapse in judgement on my part, and I've regretted it every second I've been here in Hell. It's not happening again."
Verosika, once again in a rare bout of seriousness, nodded her head. "I'll start training again, as well as the others." Newgate pulled out another folder that held Justice's information. "Justice will definitely help in training close combat. Vortex, you'll do well to learn from her too." Tex nodded his head.
"If any of you need more help, I can talk to Lucifer and ask him if Lilith is available to train you all in the more advanced demonic magics." Newgate stated with his arms crossed as Josh had a condescending smirk. "What makes you think we won't turn on you when we learn this stuff old man?"
Instead of Newgate reacting, it was Verosika who had slapped Josh. "You moron! Our home is at stake here! No home means no concerts, which also means that you and Ace here won't have time for your after-recording activities!" Josh held his cheek before the full force of her words took root and he shivered.
Newgate uncrossed his arms. "Earth cannot be caught in the crossfire again. The amount of destruction from the first Apocalypse almost completely destroyed humanity, which left little sins to be committed and thus a great loss for Hell. Heaven will use the Rapture to enlist humanity, and even then they'll be selective. We will be prepared." Newgate left with his message delivered.
Heaven, a few weeks later
Akainu read the paper with a glare and a scowl. "Hell is mobilizing! Uriel, we need to strike now!" The leader of the reformed Hellguard and Archangel of Valor shook her head. "In a few weeks' time, Extermination Day will come, and we'll annihilate their forces then."
Michael sat listening to them going back and forth before adding in his words. "Extermination Day will proceed like it always has; the weaker demons will be taken out like they always have. We will try to eliminate the Overlords and the high ranking officers of each of the rings' leaders. Unless Uriel or any of us Saints or Archangels went with them, our forces are not a match for any of the Seven."
"We'll need a sure-proof way to make Newgate doesn't act before we want him to though." Raphael stated calmly, a hidden anger behind the Archangel of Wrath's words.
Akainu smirked darkly, "I know just the way. We'll capture Lucifer's daughter to ensure Newgate doesn't act before we want him to."
Michael frowned softly. "Are you certain it'll work?" "Indeed. It's how I killed him the first time." Michael cupped his chin before nodding. "I'll have a set of exterminators and our capture squadron work on capturing Charlotte Morningstar."
"We'll need something more." Uriel stated. "They'll see our angels coming for the girl easily. We need something to distract the Overlord watching over the place, as well as keeping Newgate's attention off of our plans as well."
Akainu looked at Michael. "I can use CP-0 to establish a connection to a few of the Overlords to distract them. A serpent man by the name of Valentino seems to have issues with Shirohige disrupting his business, as well as having issues with this "Happy Hotel" with his top employee going there. Helsa von Eldritch can also be used as well since she has her own issues with Charlotte."
Michael nodded his head. "Do it Akainu. And your request to reshape the gates of Heaven to be of that as your former Marineford has been approved. Make sure that the efforts you take to shape Marineford are strong enough to prevent the forces of Hell rampaging through it."
Akainu grinned with his cigar in his mouth. "But of course, Absolute Justice will prevail like it did back then."
Extermination day, year 2022
It was a few minutes before the Extermination Day had started, and everyone was on edge. From the lowest imp and hellhounds in orphanage to Lucifer himself. Newgate had tried to get into contact with the Overlords, but only Velvet and Alastor responded. That itself was worrying, but he knew Cherri was still causing her brand of chaos, citing it to be her way of training.
Newgate looked at Courtney, his faithful secretary. "Is everything ready?" She nodded her head before the clock hit. Extermination Day had started.
Edward closed his eyes and let out a breath he wasn't aware he was holding in. 'I hope all of you are ready, for things won't be easy in this war with Heaven.'
"Emperor Newgate!" A voice cried out to him, a bat like demon making their presence known. "What is it Victoria?" "Nine omega class threats are coming from Heaven!" Newgate's eyes widened. "Nine of them?!" The bat nodded his head. "It appears that seven of them are heading for the seven sins themselves!"
Newgate ripped off his suit and threw on his hanging emperor's coat. "Any of them familiar?" "None of them sir!" 'Shit. They're going all out on it.'
"Get all of our employees to the lower bunkers! Inform Justice and Judgement that Lucifer and the other six may be trouble! Hell will not fall here!" Newgate barked out orders as he made his way to the roof of the building. His eyes widened as one of the nine were coming for him, but it was a familiar one.
The omega threat that was heading towards him had blue and yellow flame-tipped wings as well as a blonde tuft of hair on his head. The angel landed on the building. "Marco….." Newgate said softly in a somber tone.
"Pops!" Marco cried out. "I'm the only one of our crew that managed to get down here. Michael has imprisoned the rest of our crew as well as anyone that would help you!"
Newgate put his hand on Marco's shoulder. "Breathe son, breathe." Marco took a few deep breaths of air. "It's a trap Pops! It's all meant to distract you!" Newgate's eyes widened before an explosion was heard. "Sir!" The bat demon came back. "Valentino and Helsa von Eldritch's forces have begun attacking the city! They're not fighting the angels, they're helping them! A large amount of them, as well as Valentino and Helsa themselves have begun to march toward the Happy Hotel!"
Newgate's eyes widened more. "Charlie…. Marco, go back to Heaven and do whatever you can to free your brothers and sisters." Marco nodded and flew away before Newgate jumped, heading towards the Happy Hotel.
Before he could make another jump, upon landing in the streets, three men with crowns and swords stood in front of him. "I know of you three, King Alfred the Great, King Richard the First, and King Arthur."
Alfred drew his sword. "And we know of you, pirate. Edward Newgate, the Pirate Emperor of Hell, designed to destroy Heaven and Earth as we know it." Richard frowned softly. "Since your arrival, God has been silent. You must fall for your sins and your plans, Whitebeard."
King Arthur, a mournful look on his face, drew Excalibur. "It gives me no joy to do this, Emperor Newgate, as I have spent much time talking to the two you know as Gol D. Roger and Portgas D. Ace. You are an honorable man, but your fall to Hell has changed you. Saint Michael has told us much about you."
Newgate narrowed his eyes. "I don't wish to fight you but stand aside. Demons and angels are planning to attack the princess and I need to be there."
Out of the three kings, Arthur was the most conflicted to fight him. Alfred narrowed his eyes and gripped his sword tightly. "All of you demons will be slain so that there may be peace upon heaven and Earth."
Whitebeard glared at them before pulling out Murakumogiri, his trusty naginata. "So be it. To save Charlotte Morningstar, I will go through you legendary kings."
