A/N: This is loosely inspired by Dear Benjamin. But won't follow its plot word for word. I always love coming up twists to the traditional Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics and well, this is my attempt at one. I hope you'll enjoy the ride.

"Welcome, sir, to Yamanaka's Flowers! I'm Naruto. How may I help you?" Naruto chimed from his desk, eyes leaving his laptop as his keen ears heard the opening of the door. The hard clank of leather shoes on hardwood floor echoing through the drab banality of the night tore him from his work. He didn't expect a customer this late in the night, but it can't be helped, he thought.

He stretched his arms which had been busy typing his latest novel, a side passion of his that made his boring job in this tiny nook of the world that much more bearable. Still, Naruto couldn't really complain for the job was his only source of income. And he liked the peace and quiet that his life gives him.

A towering figure approached him, and his nose was instantly assailed by the unmistakable scent of an alpha. It's faint. But there's no mistaking that musky woodsy spice that permeated the air. Still he appreciates that the alpha was being subtle. He knew from previous experiences just how demanding alphas can be, flaunting their scents and pheromones as if it entitled them to anything. The room always stank with their scent for hours long after their gone. But this man's scent is more subtle, more subdued and controlled, as if the man was releasing his pheromones deliberately, yet was holding back for some reason.

"I'll get the rose and snapdragon bouquet please. With the gold wrapping please." Naruto smiled back, at least the alpha's polite and well-mannered enough. "Add some lavender and baby's breath as well."

"On it, sir. Anything else?"

"Do you do a handwritten note?" Naruto looked a bit uncomfortable at first, he's not really known for his penmanship. But he did his fair share of calligraphy when he was still touring with his godfather.

"Ermm.. yeah… I do but… If it's for a loved one, I'd really recommend a typewritten one. We do those as well." Naruto offered, hoping that the man in front of him will accept. A small smirk graced the man's face, his hand inching to Naruto's hand that had been leaning on the counter.

"If it's written by these beautiful hands, I'm sure your penmanship would be better." Naruto inwardly groaned. Great. Not even a full minute and the alpha was already coming on to him. At least the man is still maintaining a bit of a professional tact by not touching him directly, as many others have done before.

He sighed.

"Alright. What will it be?"

"To the man whose eyes put the stars to shame." The man's smirk widened at Naruto's flabbergasted expression, his piercing dark eyes meeting perplexed sapphires.

"Eh?"

"That's the message I want on the card."

"Oh… Right." Naruto could have sworn for a moment that he felt like the man meant the message was for him but maybe he just imagined it. "Take a seat while I prepare it for you. Uhm… is there anything else you want to add?"

The man just shook his head before seating himself on the leather couch. Now that the man was out of his face, Naruto had the chance to take a good look at him. The man is definitely stunning, not just because he's an alpha. His raven hair well down to his shoulder, and the back was tied in a pony tail. He wore an impeccable white suit with blue ties, his brown leather shoes shining deep red just when the light hits it perfectly.

He fetched the flowers to the far end of the shop, feeling eyes on him. Shaking it for his wishful thinking, he went to work straight away, immersing himself in cutting, and arranging the flowers on golden wrapping paper. And while making the bouquet was never his favorite part, it's infinitely better than the terseness he felt earlier when he was face to face with the man.

From his back, he felt the door open once more.

"Boss, we've been looking everywhere for you."

"Calm down, Juugo. I'm just out for a walk. Besides, I told you we're finished for the day. Did Karin send you?"

"No, Sasuke-sama. Your mother."

"Really? When she could have just called me?"

"She said your phone can't be reached. She wanted me to inform you that Itachi-sama and the rest of the clan is up for dinner tonight and she wanted your presence."

"Alright. Tell her I'll be there."

"She wants you to come now, sir."

"This won't take a while, Juugo. And do you mind? I have a view to enjoy." Naruto's ears burned at the conversation behind him. It's clear that this Sasuke is definitely talking about him. Those eyes he felt earlier were definitely not his imagination. The man basically confirmed it now and irritation boiled at Naruto's stomach. Tsk. Typical alpha.

Naruto hurriedly made the bouquet, unable to stand Sasuke's ogling any longer. He approached the counter back to give the man his purchase.

"Tsk. This just won't do."

"What?" Naruto looked up to teasing dark eyes.

"I had expected a much better job. These just won't do for my beloved."

"Well, sorry sir, I'm the only one running this shop for today. So tough luck!" Naruto bit back, his irritation lacing his voice, much to the man's amusement.

"Aww.. so you do have some backbone. Fine. How much is it?"

"1,500 please."

"See what I mean? You have the nerve to charge so much for such a shoddy job." The man, now he know as Sasuke sneered back. But he didn't catch the playful fire playing beneath those dark depths.

"Oh, cry me a river, bastard. You have the nerve…"

"When you're charging for it, yes, I do. But… you're lucky that I'm in a hurry, so come on. Let's finish it up, yeah?" Sasuke said fishing out a gold credit card from his pocket and waving it in his face. Naruto glared back, muttering an "asshole" under his breath. He was sure the bastard was just trying to flaunt his wealth now. Well, what else can he expect from a conceited alpha?

"There. Now enter your PIN and leave, asshole!" Naruto shoved the card reader on the counter like a petulant child, his patience for all manner of civility long gone, especially when the man has just insulted the flowers he worked hard on. Sure he made them on a hurry, but who's fault does he think it is?

"My, my, is that how you talk to your customers here?"

"Not to all of them. Now take your damn flowers and leave!" Naruto said pointedly as he slammed the receipt on the man's immaculate chest. Now he can go back to his writing and close the shop soon. Maybe get himself a nice bowl of ramen and relax. But to his confusion, the man made no motion to move.

He inspected the bouquet, and looked at the note Naruto has written.

"As I expected. Your writing's beautiful."

"Ermmm… thanks?" Naruto replied, his anger waning.

"When I saw your love letter at your desk, I knew you'd do a good job. And I wasn't mistaken."

"Huh? What do you mean by that?"

Sasuke's eyes glanced to the nearby desk, by Naruto's laptop. There, in perfectly scrawled calligraphy was a written note.

"Whoever your lover is might appreciate the handwriting. But if you're this bad at wrapping flowers, he might get turned off." Sasuke replied coldly. This time, Naruto could detect a hint of jealousy in the man's voice. And is that… anger in his voice?

"That's none of your business, bastard!"

"Whoever he is, he better appreciate the effort you're going through for him. Considering just how much draft you went through and still coming up with a blank letter." The smirk returned this time, but the man's scent has changed somewhat. There's a spicy bite to it now that wasn't there before. Ignoring this, Naruto eyed the messy notes on his desk. A deep part of him wanted to correct the man. That those were notes for his novel and he's only writing one letter but he really doesn't want to argue. He just want this done and over with.

"Look. Are we done here? Is there anything else you'd like to purchase?"

"Tsk. You're a ball of fire aren't you? I like that. Well… there is one other thing." Naruto frowned as Sasuke pushed the bouquet of flowers towards him, feeling the alpha's possessive firm grasp on his hand.

"Forget about Boruto. Be mine. And you won't have to write dumb letters like that, anymore."

Naruto's mouth flew wide open. Did the man just… propose…out of the blue? Before he even noticed it, the bouquet of flowers was slid in his hand along with a card.

"Think about it, Naruto, right? I'll be seeing you real soon." Naruto wanted to retort something, but he was still too shocked at what had happened. At the man's proposal, at the fact that the flowers HE just made was suddenly given to him.

So before Naruto can come to his senses, the man was long gone. Naruto eyed the card. Sasuke Uchiha? What a conceited asshole! He sighed as he sank to his chair. He ran the conversation through his mind, sure that he's missing something… but what?

As he picked up the letter on his desk, something clicked to him.

The man's quick hostility, the jealousy, the possessive scent that lingered, and the sudden proposal all came to him at once. He shook his head as he picked up the letter on his desk. His eyes softened for a minute.

Pushing his encounter with Sasuke at the back of his mind for a minute, he picked up the letter and sighed. At least this will calm him down. He won't let an alpha ruin his night. So he picked up his pen and started writing.

"Dear Boruto…"
