What ever happened after Tonks told Lupin that she loved him in front of everybody around the end of the 6th book?

Read this to find out!

Many portraits stopped to listen as the two were still arguing down the halls of

Hogwarts.

"I told you, I'm too old!" and exasperated Lupin said.

"I DON'T CARE! How many times will you make me say it! I LOVE you! I

love all of you, including the fact that you are a werewolf," Tonks replied.

Remus sighed, "I'm too old for you, you should find someone who is worth you.

What would you do with someone as poor as me?"

"Ahhhh! You're hopeless!" Tonks sighed, "Let me know when you stop being a

coward."

And with that she ran down the halls and out the front door. Her sobs echoing

through the walls. The two were to busy fighting to realize they had an audience. Many

Hogwarts students, even Peeves, came to listen in.

"Ohhh, the werewolf is having love problems," a Pestering Peeves yelled so that

anyone who didn't know what was going on now knew.

"Oh, bug off Peeves or I'll get the Bloody Baron!" said a voice in the crowd.

Which turned out to be Harry.

"So she loves you, eh?" Harry asked once the crowd died away.

"Oh, she thinks she does but she doesn't know what she is getting herself into, she

just has a crush on me. I'm too poor and old-"

"No you aren't! I don't think that she would give you that speech, and have her

patrons changed just for a crush. Come on Professor, you know you like her go get her!"

and with that Harry shoved a handful of floo powder into Lupin's hands and pushed him

to the nearest fireplace.

Lupin sighed and decided that there would be no harm in pretending to go after

Tonks, for Harry's sake of course. He hastily grabbed the powder and shouted, "The

Leaky Cauldron!" But he never expected Tonks to be there.

"Oh- erm- hi?" Tonks said blushing as Lupin sat down in the seat next to her.

"Erm- um- right, hi," said an equally red if not more blushing Lupin, "I didn't

think you would be here." He said wringing his hands anxiously.

"Well here I am," she replied then added in a whisper, "I was hoping you would

show up."

Remus didn't know what to say. They just sat in silence for awhile when she

finally spoke.

"Look, I'm sorry for yelling at you, but all I said was true. I really do love you for

who you are and I wish you would let me become closer to you," she said.

"Don't apologize", he said, "I erm- I love you too. I'm sorry for making you hurt

but you really do deserve someone better."

"Honestly Remus, I can't see myself with anyone but you." Her, now blue, eyes

were beginning to water, and they held such a burning passion and longing that his heart

broke all over again. He had lost everyone he loved James, Lily, Sirius, and now

Dumbledore. He didn't want to love only because he did not want to lose anyone else.

But looking into her eyes he knew that he had already hurt her more than helped her. He

sighed.

"Your right," she said in a whisper so soft that Tonks barely heard it.

She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close. "I know this is a hard

time for you. Let me help."

And this time he didn't pull away.
