Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Ivy's Flowers. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Pokémon, Nintendo and a few others.
The first few people off the boat interested her…. Still? She allowed the rest of the staff to walk away, knowing their part to play in things were quite common.
"Professor Ivy?" Ivy heard as she turned and started to look over her shoulder a moment later.
She turned to notice that one of the scientists which caused her to tilt her to the head. She looked at the human who had a Hoehn style blue shirt with a Mudkip on it, he also wore a pair of sandals and a simple pair of black swim pants… Perfect for the location considering both had to go into the water. His ocean blue eyes were only curious about this place. Ivy stepped forwards towards the boy who was already ready to explore the area in question.
"You must be Professor Bramble." Ivy said while as extending a hand towards her friend a moment later. "I've read your work, you're a leading expert in the field of water Pokémon." Ivy stated as Bramble chuckled while both started to walk through the island they had been on.
"Well, Hoehn is surrounded by the ocean…" Bramble stated while rubbing at his temples. "Besides? Someone has to do it. I rather enjoy the ocean, there's a LOT of Pokémon which people have already stuttered." Bramble stated while he put his hands into his pockets.
"And you've become down to researching unique Pokémon in this region?" Bramble questioned as Ivy nodded as the duo started to walk into the next part of the town. "Fascinating, I'm quite curious if their new Pokémon, or simply a mutation within their genetic code." Bramble stated and hummed with amusement.
Bramble watched Ivy smirk while she started to think of tomorrow's research. She was going to point out that there was a lot to do still, both had plenty on their minds and this? It was begging to look like a unique partnership.
"Why hire so many staff if your research is good with a small team?" Bramble questioned as he crossed, he raised his eyebrows with interest her with a sigh.
"Because I still need a small army of research staff to do things that I will be too busy to do." Ivy said and then started while she turned to point at the sky above. "Most of the Pokémon appear at the nights… But that doesn't mean I don't have to research and record things while I'm busy sleeping and such." Ivy added as she watched the rest of her new staff walk forward.
"And yet you reached out when it comes down to the end of it?" Bramble added and then started to think of what the first day would bring. "It would be easier to have reached out towards people that WERE common to your region, you know." Bramble stated which got a hand wave from Ivy.
The two stopped to look at the ocean at the moment while Ivy hummed at the mere waves below her. Still? Today was going to be over soon. Ivy nodded towards Bramble while she turned to look at her friend.
"I've heard you've had new Pokémon from Hoehn; I haven't seen much between them. The other professors and I've heard nothing much." Ivy added while she nodded to the ocean once more at the time while rubbing at her eyes and she sighed to herself.
"Still? There's plenty of things to account for before today is done, you know." Ivy added to which Bramble was silent a few moments.
"Maybe, but there's still time, you've said you've cleared your schedule today." Bramble said, garnering a nod from Ivy who was silent as she thought about her work.
There was bound to be SOMETHING coming onwards in the future. Their work never ended, nor did the contributions towards the rest of science for the rest of the world.
"We have plenty of work to do before today is done, I hope you are aware of that, doctor." Ivy stated to which Bramble was silent, merely nodded along as he hummed and thought.
"Do you own your own Pokémon at the moment?" Bramble questioned as he crossed his arms. "I've heard your quite proud of that group at the moment." Bramble stated while he pointed towards the Pokeball in question.
Still? There was MUCH to discuss as the group passed into her home/laboratory. She was quite curious as to WHAT the next move was… But it would come to her sooner or later.
"You should know there's a LOT more to study around the world, though… Yes, Professor?" Bramble pointed out, electing a nod from Ivy as the duo passed inside.
"Yes, but their things to focus on tomorrow." Bramble heard from Ivy as she looked at her fingers as she turned towards her friend a moment later.
He hummed to himself a second later and smirked.
