"YOSH!" Luffy burst out of the men's quarters at sunrise on the morning on Valentine's Day. "Wake up, nakama! It's Valentine's Day!"

Grumbling, a few of the crew members emerged from their cabins. Sanji waited hopefully for Nami to emerge, holding a box of chocolates and a bouquet, but when she didn't appear, he proceeded to the kitchen to make breakfast. Usopp came out moments later, yawning, and was followed by Chopper. Still, Nami and Zoro remained in their respective cabins. It wasn't until Sanji pranced up to the women's quarters, knocked lightly on the door, and called, "Breakfast is ready, Nami-swaaaan!" that Nami appeared. Soon, everyone was seated at the breakfast table–everyone, that is, except Zoro.

After breakfast, Luffy skipped around the deck of the Going Merry, passing out red heart-shaped valentine's to his nakama. He'd wanted to hand out chocolates too, but Sanji said he was saving them for Nami. Every time Luffy found someone he hadn't already given a valentine to, he danced over to them, shoved a valentine in their hands with a "Happy Valentine's Day!", threw his arms around them, and planted a kiss on their cheek. Before said someone could react, he would be off to the next person. After lunch, he had given out all of his valentines–except one.

"Sanji, have you seen Zoro?" Luffy asked, entering the kitchen.

"Shithead's probably still asleep," Sanji replied while peeling vegetables. "Try the men's quarters."

"Yosh! Thanks, Sanji! Luffy made a grab for a carrot, but Sanji smacked his hand away with the flat of the knife he was using. So Luffy salsa-ed to the men's cabin.

As Sanji had predicted, Zoro was still asleep in his hammock. "Zoro," Luffy whispered, nudging his first mate. "Zoro, get up!" Zoro opened one eye.

"What do you want, Luffy?" he asked irritably.

"I have to give you your valentine!" Luffy replied. Zoro heaved a sigh and sat up, throwing his legs over the side of the hammock so the captain could sit down next to him. Luffy sat and gave the remaining card to his nakama.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Zoro!" Luffy exclaimed, throwing his arms around his first mate. Zoro turned to look at him in surprise, and the kiss Luffy had meant to place on his cheek landed on his lips.

Zoro jumped back in shock. He could feel his face burning. He gave a nervous laugh. "Hehe, sorry about th–" He was silenced as Luffy pulled him close again and pressed his mouth to Zoro's.

There was a sort of explosion inside both of them as their lips met again. It felt so wonderful Luffy never wanted to stop, but even rubber men have to breathe.

"Er..." Zoro muttered. "Thanks for the valentine, Luffy. But I don't have one for you!"

"Nee, Zoro! You are my valentine!" Luffy threw his arms around Zoro again. Zoro just looked at him, astonished, for a moment, then he smirked and lowered his face to his captain's again.

"Oi, Luffy! Zoro! Dinner!" Sanji threw open the door to the men's cabin. There were the two he was missing–in the same hammock–asleep, with their arms around each other. Sanji grinned to himself. "Oh well. I guess we'll be missing a couple of baka at dinner tonight." He closed the door.
