Silent Hill: Atonement

Sarah walked over to her daughter Amy, who was sitting in the hospital lobby. Her husband, Jim Westward was in Critical condition. He had gotten drunk one night after going to the Bar. He had drank one too many beers and despite repeated warnings from the bartender and concerned friends, he insisted on driving home while drunk. He grabbed his keys and left. He was still woozy from the alcohol and

floored it to make it home quicker. He wasn't looking where he was driving and immediately

hit an oak tree while driving at 100MPH. His neck was broken on impact and the bones in his ankles and arms had shattered. By all logic, he should've died. Part of his brain flew through the air and landed on the lawn. Still half conscious, he tried to move, but the loss of blood stopped him. He passed out.

911 workers had rushed to the scene, along with firemen, having been called by his frantic companions. They had to pry the car apart with the Jaws Of Life and managed to get him out. He looked like he had been hit by a freight train. His jaw was fractured and limp and his body was like tissue paper. His torso looked like it had exploded all over the car. There was blood everywhere and his skull had parted in two from the impact. One of his eyes was out of its socket and his nose was cracked. He was rushed to the ER and nearly died seven times on the way over.

Sarah walked over to the soda machine to get something to drink and Amy went as well, her eyes dry from crying. Sarah knew it was difficult for her. Jim was the only father she had. Her other parents, her actual parents, had died in a fire four years ago. Both had held out hope that Jim would get better. They returned to their seats, praying for a miracle. Hours felt like days and finally the nurse appeared. She had a grave look on her face. Sarah feared the worst.

"Ms West? I'm sorry, he didn't make it"

Sarah went over to the doctor and Amy could see Sarah fall to the ground in agony. Amy's heart stopped and she went numb. The car ride home was silent and as they pulled into the driveway, Sarah...changed.

"Go to your room! I don't want to see you for the rest of the night"

Amy was confused and tried to reason with her.

"Dad's dead, how is this my fault?"

Sarah only got angrier. A stinging slap to the cheek silenced Amy for good.

"You want another one? Didn't think so"

Amy ran into her room and locked the door. Outside the town was shrouded in fog.

"that's new" Amy exclaimed, seeing some sort of creature in the fog

Sarah came in, unusually chipper for once.

"Let's take a drive, you and me"

Amy was afraid and warned Sarah of the creatures in the fog.

"Oh don't worry about the neighbors, we're just going for a walk"

Sarah's weird smile grew wider and Amy feared for her life.

"Get in the car!" Sarah said, through gritted teeth, still smiling.

Amy refused, so Sarah dragged her by the arm and threw her into the front seat.

The car left the house and Amy could see all sorts of mangled creatures, some with missing head, some with faces that seemed...wrong.

"We're here" said Sarah, parking her car and forcing Amy out of the front seat.

The inside of the store was a dilapidated wreck, with broken signs and old moldy food. Amy noticed another one of the creatures at the clerk desk.

"Amy, I am going to buy some things, why don't you wait outside?" Sarah said.

Amy was terrified and refused. Sarah grew annoyed and pushed her out, with a stick to defend herself

with. Demonic screeches and baying filled the air, causing a terror stricken Amy to curl up into a fetal position, sobbing in horror. Sarah came back out and with an annoyed expression, dragged Amy by the hair and threw her into the car.

"What has gotten into you Amy Westward? Ever since Jim died, you've been acting strange. We're still in the real world. What is going on with you?" Sarah asked, perplexed and yet greatly annoyed.

Amy was despondent and distant. Sarah reached over to comfort her but Amy pulled away, in shock at how she'd been treated.

"If only you knew mother, if only you knew" said Amy.

Some say they are still trapped in Silent hill. Others think that Amy went crazy. Who knows?
