Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon! But you all already know that by now, yes?
Here it is… The very first chapter to the finale of the remastered Silver Series: Silver Bells! It has been a long time coming, but I am very glad and very proud to finally present to you the finale of the remastered trilogy. I have to say, I'm quite proud of how the remastered trilogy came out. I just simply cannot read through the very first silver trilogy and say it's a good story, especially Silver End… Silver End was absolute garbage reading it in this day and age!
Dawn: Wow, it really has been five years since you finished Silver Bonds, hasn't it? What made you decide to finally finish what you started?
Me: Well, I thought I needed to put some closure on a lot of my on-going series. It just didn't feel right leaving them hanging. The Silver Remastered trilogy was a series long on-going project, but when I reached the final hurdle, I just didn't know what to do for the final part and I had let you all down. But now, I finally have something figured out and I decided I'm not ready to give up on this series just yet!
Dawn: Oh, that's cool! Also… Are you still going to glomp me like you used to? For old times sake?
Me: Nah, you get a head pat though! Head pats are always nice! -Gives Dawn a head pat- I have a new glomp buddy who I love and cherish more than anything… C'mere Karyl~! I luuuuuuuuurve you, you cute tsundere kitty you~! -Glomps and hug-tackles Karyl-
Karyl: -Squeals and squirms while being hug-tackled by me- Wh-What do you think you're doing, you dummy?! I'll kill you!
Dawn: -Sweat drops- Aaaaaaaaanyways… While Honou is busy indulging in their... new glomp buddy… I hope you all enjoy! This is a story that you all have waited five years for and now that it's finally here, I hope it meets your expectations! Enjoy!
Warning: This story is rated M for a very VERY good reason. If you're still a little kiddy under the age of 18, TURN BACK NOW! Of course, I can't stop you from reading should you choose to do so, but don't say I didn't warn you!
Chapter 1: Wedding Day
A young blue-haired woman sat at a dimly lit dining table alone in eerie silence. She was a beautiful young woman, in her early 20s with long, flowing blue hair and beautiful blue eyes that shone and shimmered like the ocean. However, there was also a somber sense of loneliness in those eyes as well of hers as she awaits the arrival of her beloved. The dining table was already prepared and set up as the young woman awaited the return of her husband. Finally, the silence is broken as the front door to their home is unlocked and a young purple haired man in his early 20s, about two years older than the younger blue haired woman. He had stern, cold black eyes and shoulder length purple hair. The woman eagerly gets up from her seat to welcome the man back home.
"Welcome home, Paul dear!" The blue haired woman says with a welcoming, warm smile. "How were today's battles? You must be exhausted! I have dinner and a warm bath all ready for you!" The purple haired man named Paul barely even looks at the blue haired woman before finally speaking.
"I have to be up early tomorrow. I'm set for an interview early tomorrow. Then I have a battle with Leon, champion of the Galar Region." Paul said to the blue haired woman as he took off his shoes and brushed past her, as if he didn't even acknowledge how hard she had worked his sake. "I already had dinner with an acquaintance, and the bath will have to wait until tomorrow morning. I'm heading to bed now…" As he says this, the purple haired man closes the door to their room shut.
The blue haired woman has her eyes shadowed and her lips quivering as she hears the purple haired man tell her this. She then turns to take a look at a framed picture of the blue haired woman when she was younger, about 18 years old at the time. She was with the purple haired man, who was about 20 years old at the time. The blue haired woman was dressed in a silk white wedding dress and a white veil draped over her face. She held a bouquet of roses and was smiling brightly and cheerily. The purple haired man stood next to her and was dressed in a slick black tuxedo and his arms embracing the blue haired woman lovingly. The man was smiling warmly at her and held her in a loving embrace. The two of them looked so happy! It looked as if they were inseparable… that nothing could tear them apart. The blue haired woman has her eyes shadowed as she tenderly places a hand to her stomach. Her lips start to quiver as tears slowly fall from her eyes. A diamond ring on the blue haired woman's left ring finger is seen glinting faintly within the dimly lit home..
"... Where did things go wrong…?" The blue haired woman asks herself silently as her hand strokes her stomach gently and caringly. She then looks up at the turns to the dining table, eating dinner in silent solitude as she reminisces of a time when their love was pure, strong and they had believed that nothing could tear the bonds that they shared…
Flashback, two years ago
Six years later, after the celebration of their first anniversary together, Dawn and Paul had long since finished their journey with Ash and Brock. Though their time with Ash and Brock had ended, Dawn continued to travel with Paul. Dawn had finally won her first Grand Festival within the past six years thanks to Paul's support and Paul himself had become a well renowned trainer. Although he still had yet to defeat the Sinnoh Champion, Cynthia, his skill was on par with Sinnoh's very own Elite Four. The two still loved each other dearly, and it seemed as if nothing could tear the two apart.
The next scene shows Paul having a battle with Frontier Brain, Brandon. In the six years that Paul and Dawn had traveled with each other, he had been training with the blue haired girl for this very moment, and it seemed as if their hard work was finally paying off. The two of them were on their final Pokemon, Paul with his Torterra and Brandon with his Regice. Regice was worn out a little during a previous battle with Paul's Electivire, which it had just defeated. Even so, things looked grim with Regice having a severe type advantage over Torterra, but the purple haired boy refused to give up, not with Dawn cheering him on.
"Don't give up, Paul! This battle isn't over just yet!" Dawn cheers from the sidelines with a cheerful, supportive smile on her face. "You got this!" Paul looks up at Dawn and gives her a thumbs up while smirking confidently.
"If I have you cheering me on, I can't possibly lose!" He tells the blue haired girl. He then pauses a bit and looks the other way while slightly red in the cheeks. "... Troublesome… I have something I want to tell you… So… When I win this battle… wait for me when the time is right, alright?" Dawn smiles at Paul and nods her head.
"Of course…" She says softly. "I'll wait as long as is needed… I believe in you, Paul… Now and forever!" Paul has a soft, gentle smile on his face before turning back to Brandon, who has his arms crossed and a stern, focused gaze in his eyes.
"You seem quite confident you're going to win this battle, Paul. You've improved greatly in these past six years! Having something to fight for really does make you stronger, doesn't it?" He says nobly with his arms crossed. "However, if you think I'm going to make this easy for you, you're sadly mistaken! Let's not forget who has the type advantage in this battle! Regice, use Ice Beam!" The lumbering glacier Pokemon has its arms raised as a light blue sphere is formed in its arms before firing it towards the large continent Pokemon. Paul has his eyes shadowed and clenches his fists.
"I won't lose… I can't lose! Not with troublesome watching!" Paul says while gazing at Brandon with determined eyes. "Torterra, block the attack with your Stone Edge!" The continent Pokemon reacts to the Ice Beam by slamming its feet onto the ground, creating sharp, jagged stones which jut out of the ground and block the blast of ice headed its way.
"Hyper Beam!" Both of them speak at the same time calmly. Both Torterra and Regice charge a golden sphere of energy before firing at each other. The two blasts collide with each other, completely evenly matched, creating a cloud of dust from the impact of the two powerful attacks. The two of them couldn't see each other through the cloud of dust. When the smoke cleared, both Pokemon were still standing and recharging their power after using Hyper Beam.
"Let's finish this, Torterra! Now's our chance!" Paul says to the continent Pokemon boldly. "Frenzy Plant! Full Power!" Torterra complies as it recharges its power after using Hyper Beam first. The continent Pokemon roars mightily as it slams its feet onto the ground, causing a flurry of vines to emerge from the ground. Regice, still slightly worn out from its previous battle with Electivire, isn't able to recover its strength after using Hyper Beam fast enough. It's struck hard with powerful vines slamming into it over and over again relentlessly. Torterra attacks with all its might, slamming Regice one last time with its vines before ceasing its attack, panting as it keeps its focused gaze on the glacier Pokemon while Regice staggers from the brutal assault.
Regice stands still for a moment, staggering after the powerful attack it received… before collapsing… defeated…
"Regice is unable to battle! Torterra wins! The winner of this battle is Paul from Veilstone City!" The referee says excitedly. Paul lets out a deep sigh as he is called the victor. He then sees Dawn running up to him with tears of joy in her eyes as she leaps into his arms and hugs him affectionately. Brandon has his eyes closed and smiles with no regrets.
"You won fair and square, Paul." He says solemnly while nodding his head. "I have no regrets, you battled excellently!" Paul smiles and nods his head to Brandon before turning his attention back to a certain blue-haired girl, who was hugging and unable to suppress the sheer amount of joy she felt at this moment.
"You did it! You did it! You won, Paul!" Dawn says cheerily and happily as she hugs the purple haired man affectionately. Paul has a soft smile on his face as he holds his blue haired girl in his arms, embracing her lovingly.
"I couldn't have done it without you, Troublesome!" Paul says with a smile, finally bringing closure to an opponent he had struggled long and hard to overcome all these years. He then pauses at this. Now that he had finally overcome the ghosts of his past, what was next? He was about to take the next big step, of course, and now was the perfect time! "Troublesome… No… I have no right to call you troublesome anymore… You've been anything but troublesome to me all these years... Dawn, the two of us have been through thick and thin, starting from that fateful day where we first met eyes, to the day where I wrongfully rejected your feelings… to this moment here and now… Despite all that, our love prevailed and had lasted even these long years… and now… I find myself ready to take the next big step…" As he says this, he falls to one knee and holds out a small box containing a small diamond ring. Dawn lets out a small gasp as she sees the ring, her hand to her mouth as tears of joy stream from her eyes as she realizes he was ready to pop the big question.
"Dawn, will you marry me?" Paul asks the young blue haired woman, looking into her eyes with his warm, gentle black eyes. Dawn smiles at this with tears streaking from her eyes as she's left completely speechless. She was so happy she couldn't find her words. Finally, she opens her mouth, tears of joy still streaming from her eyes.
"Yes… Yes… A thousand times, yes!" Dawn says as tears of joy stream down the blue haired girl's eyes. "I love you so much, Paul! You have no idea how happy I am!" Paul gives Dawn a gentle smile as he slips the ring into Dawn's ring finger. He then pulls the blue haired girl in and closes his eyes as he kisses the blue haired girl on the lips lovingly and affectionately. The blue haired girl closes her eyes and returns the kiss. The two of them stay locked in place while Brandon watches with a smile and his arms crossed.
"So, you've finally found happiness, Paul…" Brandon says with a small smile while watching as the two lovers embraced and kissed. "I'm proud of you…" Paul finally breaks away from Dawn as the two continue to gaze in each other's eyes and hold each other in their loving embrace as they stare into the beautiful sunset together. Nothing could tear the two of them apart. They were taking the next big step in their lives.
Soon enough, news of Dawn and Paul's engagement reached their friends and family. Dawn's mother, Johanna, was the first to hear the news and she was ecstatic to say the least, giving Paul her blessing without any argument. Lucas and Reiji were the second to hear of the news. While Reiji was completely taken by surprise and moved to tears upon hearing the news that his brother was finally getting married, Lucas took the news much more calmly and in a more composed manner.
"So, you finally asked my baby sister for her hand in marriage, eh?" Lucas says with a wide, goofy grin on his face. The blue haired man had grown considerably over the years and had grown into a handsome, mature young man. He was now the new professor of the Sinnoh Region after Professor Rowan's retirement and was happily married to the Ice Gym leader, Candice. Reiji was also married to Maylene and the two had a single child together. "I was wondering when you would pop the big question! You've been dating her for how many years? I figured it would be only a matter of time, right?" Dawn grows a bit red in the cheeks as Lucas says this and puffs her cheeks in a pout while nudging him with her elbow.
"I'm not a baby anymore, big brother, I'm 18 years old for crying out loud…" Dawn says adorably while pouting and looking the other way. Lucas smiles and pets Dawn on the head affectionately in a big brotherly manner.
"I know, and words cannot express how proud I am seeing you grow up this much!" Lucas says in a big brotherly manner, genuinely proud of how much his little sister had grown. He then turns to Paul and bows his head in gratitude. "From the bottom of my heart, thank you, for being so good to my little sister over all these you for giving her true happiness, for always being by her side. Words simply cannot express how grateful I am to you." Paul smiles while holding Dawn close to him and hugging her affectionately.
"Of course! Dawn means the world to me. And I swore I would never do anything to hurt her! Not now, not ever!" He says to Lucas reassuringly. He then pauses for a bit before speaking once more. "Lucas, I want you to be my best man for the marriage. She's your sister after all, and you have every right to be by my side when we get married. Consider it my way of expressing my gratitude, for being so supportive in our relationship. What do you say?" He then extends his hand to shake Lucas' hand. Lucas smiles and nods his head, taking Paul's hand and shaking hands with him, accepting his offer.
"It would be my honor!" Lucas says softly. Dawn smiles at this. Their family had given them their blessing. It was only a matter of time before the wedding would take place. Suddenly, Reiji ceases his bawling and comically breaks the mood by asking Paul a very… adult and very personal question.
"By the way, Paul, I never asked and I was just wondering. How far have you two gone?" He asks comically and curiously. "You've been dating for quite a while, so I was just wondering. Have you… You know… Done the Pidgeys and the Combees…?" He asks comically. Dawn and Paul both grow heatedly red in the face at this question and look away from each other comically. Paul had indeed taken Dawn's virginity when Dawn was 16 years old and had kept it secret from their brothers all these years. The two were so lost in passion for each other at the time that one thing led to another and they had wound up doing the dirty.
"R-Reiji, th-that's sexual harrassment…" Dawn mumbles while a deep red in the cheeks "I-Is that a question you ask your brother and his girlfriend when he's getting married?" Reiji tips his head to one side at this comically while blinking.
"Well, Lucas already said everything that I wanted to say regarding the matter." Reiji says matter-of-factly. "Besides, if you two are going to get married, that means eventually you're going to have children and if you're going to have children, then that means at one point, you're going to have to have done it, right? So tell us, have you gotten that far with each other? I believe we both have the right to know." Dawn looks at Lucas desperately to save them from the embarrassment, but Lucas comically also looked as if he wanted to know. She then looks at Paul awkwardly, who rubs his temples and sighs before finally speaking.
"Yes, we… we've already gotten that far, big brother… It was shortly after Dawn's 16th birthday celebration." Paul says to his older brother while rubbing his temples. "We lost ourselves in the heat of the moment, one thing led to another and then… You can imagine the rest... We both agreed to keep it a secret from the both of you. It was a spur of the moment occurrence after all and we didn't know what to do if the both of you were to find out. I used a condom though, I swear!" Dawn looks the other way while a deep red in her cheeks, ready and preparing herself for Lucas' and Reiji's reaction to this. Reiji smiles at this and ruffles Dawn's head in a big brotherly manner.
"See? That wasn't so hard, right? All you needed to do was come clear and tell us the truth!" He says with a big brotherly, friendly smile on his face. "No more secrets, alright? We're your older siblings and we'll accept you both no matter what!" Paul and Dawn look genuinely touched, and also surprised by how accepting they were.
"Y-You aren't mad at us for keeping this a secret from you two and from mom?" Dawn asks Lucas nervously. Lucas smiles and shakes his head.
"Of course not! You two were, and still are, growing young adults! Hormones and sexual drive are all part of growing up, you know?!" Lucas says to the young blue haired girl. "But mom has the right to know as well, so be sure to tell her as well, alright?" Dawn is a deep red in the cheeks and silently nods her head while still a bit embarrassed from having this awkward conversation.
Some time had passed after Dawn and Paul had broken the news to their families. Dawn and Paul were both busy planning and preparing for the wedding that they didn't have as much time to spend with each other. However, it would all be worth it on the day of the wedding itself. After weeks of preparation, the day had finally arrived.
Paul and Dawn both decided to hold the wedding at a church in Veilstone City, Paul's hometown. Their wedding was held on a very special day: Their special day… The day the two had fallen in love and became a couple. Paul stands by Lucas's side, dressed in a sleek black tuxedo. Lucas stood by Paul's side, dressed in a navy blue tuxedo and his hair combed and slicked backwards. It was a special occasion, and the young, blue haired man was dressed very handsomely. Several of Dawn and Paul's friends were at the wedding. Ash could be seen with Misty and Brock. Kenny was seen together with Zoey. Even Team Rocket had put aside their differences to take part as guests for this occasion.
"Nervous?" Lucas asks Paul with a wide grin. "You'll be fine, champ~! You're the one who won my little sister's heart after all! She really does love you with all her heart." Paul has a small smile at this, knowing just how much the two had shared feelings for each other.
"I know… and that's why I'll definitely make her happy. I promise on my life!" He swears solemnly. Lucas smiles as Paul says this before turning his attention forward as the lights turn dark and the pianist starts playing 'Here Comes the Bride' on the grand piano. Paul's eyes widen as he's finally able to see his blue haired girl enter the room. And she looked absolutely stunning in that dress!
The blue haired woman was dressed in a beautiful pure white dress with a bouquet of roses held in her hands. A white veil was over her face and her beautiful silky blue hair flowed gracefully as she walked down the paved red carpet. Maylene is seen to be standing by Dawn's side, escorting her to the groom with her and Reiji's daughter, a young 5 year old girl, walking right behind them as flower girl. Paul was left absolutely speechless as he's seen to be unable to take his eyes off the beautiful blue haired girl. His beautiful blue haired girl!
Finally, Dawn stood in front of Paul while holding the rose as the pastor began to say the vows. "Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to join this young man and this young woman, these two lovers together in holy matrimony!" The pastor says as he starts the long wedding speech. Finally, it was time for the vows. "Mr. Paul, do you take this beautiful young woman to be your beloved wife until death do you apart? Do you promise to love her, cherish her, honor her, comfort her and care for her in sickness and in health?"
"I do!" Paul says solemnly, still unable to take his eyes off the beautiful blue haired woman standing before him. The pastor then turns to Dawn.
"Ms. Dawn, do you take this handsome young man to be your beloved husband until death do you apart? Do you promise to love him, cherish him, honor him, comfort him and care for him in sickness and in health?" Dawn smiles at Paul from behind the veil and nods her head.
"I do!" She says tenderly, nearly moved to tears of joy and doing everything she can to contain the tears of joy in her eyes. Words just simply could not express how happy she was now that her special day was finally here. The pastor then has them repeat the vows, exchange the rings… and then finally, he seals the deal.
"I now pronounce you two husband and wife!" The pastor says with a nod of his head. "You may now kiss the bride!" Paul is seen to be unable to wait any longer. He lifts the veil on Dawn's face and pulls her close for a deep passionate kiss. This was by far the deepest kiss Paul had ever given her, symbolizing the sheer amount of emotions he had felt for the blue haired woman at this point and time. Dawn has her eyes closed and returns the kiss tenderly, being held in his warm embrace and never letting go. She is unable to contain her tears of joy any longer as her silver tears stream down her face and flow beautifully down her cheeks.
There is a round of applause from the audience. Jessie is comically seen to be bawling into James' arm while the blue haired man desperately does his best to calm her down, the red haired woman's tears and snot comically now dribbling all over the sleeve of his sleek black suit. Ash smiles as he applauds alongside Brock, who is brought to tears knowing that his friend who was younger than him had gotten married before he did. Misty is also seen applauding, but then her cheeks grow slightly red as she leans her head on Ash's shoulder and has her arms around his. Ash blushes slightly at this and holds the orange haired tomboy close to him affectionately. The purple haired man finally pulls away from the blue haired girl and stares deeply into her eyes lovingly, still holding her in a deep embrace. The silver wedding bells could be heard ringing loudly through the applause and cheers of the guests, continuing to ring throughout the wedding all in celebration of the newly formed couple.
They were now together forever… and nothing could ever tear them apart…
… Or so they thought…
To Be Continued
And there we have it! The very first chapter of Silver Bells! What did you all think? Was it well worth the wait? I put a lot of effort into this story and thinking of the ideas and where I wanted to go and I'm having a blast!
Karyl: -Looks at me suspiciously with her cat ears pointed downwards- … So mushy… You aren't planning anything mushy and sappy with me, aren't you? I definitely don't want to see anything with me here! Especially ones with that Dumbo-rine!
Me: Oh, I'm glad you brought that up, my cute tsundere kitty~! I have plans, but I'm still thinking of them… Now gimme a hug! You cute kitty you~!
Karyl: -Vein mark popped on the back of her head- Grim Buuuuuurst! -Blows me away with her magic-
Me: Worth~! -Tackles again-
Karyl: D-Dummy! G-Get off me, you pervert! I-I'll kill you! -Squirms while trying to push me off of her-
Nyehehehe… Oh how I missed doing this… Anyways, my thought process. You may have noticed no Cyrus or Hunter J this time around. That's because I decided I didn't need to have a villain in order to tell a cohesive story. I felt that telling a story about their adulthood and the troubles they face would be a more grounded and more realistic take for a series finale. Also, sorry if I botched the wedding. I haven't been to a wedding in like forever, but I did a little bit of research while writing and gave it my best effort! Silver End was drama for the sake of drama and… I still believe to this day it's my worst story I've ever written. Here, you can see that the dramatic elements are strung together in a believable way and tells a strong, cohesive story.
Well, that's all for now! Be sure to leave a nice review and give me some feedback! Feedback is always appreciated. And don't flame me or else Karyl is gonna blast you with her Grim Burst! Until next time!
