Last time Luffy got registered as an adventurer and now it's time to beat some monsters!

Thank you to all the people who follow my little story! The answers to you reviews will be at the chapter's end.

Anyway, time for the show.

A PIRATE'S STRENGTH

It's already black outside, where are Bell and Luffy? I thought they would go to the guild, register Luffy and come back but they departed hours ago. I just hope nothing bad happened."

Other than the rabbit and the pirate, all the familia's members plus Hestia were gathered in the living room of the Hearth mansion waiting for the two missing members. The goddess herself was wondering when her Bell and Luffy were going to show up.

"Don't worry Hestia-sama, like everyone here I only know Luffy for a day but I'll bet my hammer that he rushed into the dungeon as soon as he was registered. Bell will protect him, he's a level three now so he can easily handle whatever happens in the upper floors. It's not like they're going to descend all the way down to Rivera on the first day haha!" Welf was trying to ease the goddess's worries. Even if they were going to be on the fifth or the sixth floor, for Bell it'll be a walk in the park, but the smith really doubted that a newbie could handle more than that.

"It's not really about the dungeon, I said it before, Luffy-kun is not weak as he appears to be. I was thinking about things like adventurers jealous of Bell's fame or Luffy-kun getting in trouble since he doesn't know Orario, he may upset strong people."

"Hestia-sama is right, Lily thinks Monkey-san might…" The pallum stopped as she heard the front door open.

"Yo!"

"We're back ...ugh…"

Everyone turned to look at the entry, a smiling Luffy and a….defeated looking Bell entered. The two weren't dirty or hurt but the rabbit looked like he didn't have any energy left physically or mentally.

The goddess rushed to hug her Bell while she checked him but didn't find any problem on his body.

"Welcome back you two, my poor bell-kun, you look really beat. Did something happen?" She looked at Luffy but he looked perfectly normal.

The rabbit just raised his arm and pointed at Luffy.

"He happened…"

"Huh? What do you mean? Luffy-kun, what did you do to my Bell?" The goddess looked inquisitively at the pirate who tilted his head in wonder.

"Heh? But I didn't do anything to Bell, we only went to the dungeon, explored a little and came back here." Luffy defended himself since he really was innocent.

"Explored a little he say….why did I work so hard, can someone tell me..why?" Bell looked more and more depressed, but since he was not hurt, the other concluded that nothing really concerning happened.

"Don't worry Bell-kun, come , I'll give you a lap pillow while you tell us what made you so sad." The goddess pulled the rabbit to one of the free couches and patted her tights. She didn't forget to give Lily a victorious smirk as Bell let his head fall on her and started to tell them about Luffy's first dive in the dungeon.

A few hours earlier…

"Wohoo! So that's the entry? So the dungeon is in this big tower? That's so cool!"

"No Luffy-san, the dungeon is under the tower. This is the Babel tower, built by the gods on the dungeon's entry itself. Follow me."

The two entered, crossed a hall and found themself in front of a perfectly round, ten meters deep hole. To descend into the dungeon itself, rings of stairs which seemed to be dug directly into the rocky walls were utilized by the adventurers.

"This is it, I hope you're not nervouUUUUSSSS!" Bell, who tried to reassure Luffy, suddenly found himself flying down the hole pulled by a laughing Luffy.

Luffy landed on the ground light as a feather and looked around as Bell picked himself up.

"Heh, it looks like a cave, Let's go!"

They crossed a long corridor, arrived in a circular room and..

CRRRCK

A noise that every adventurer would recognise resonated. They turned to look at the wall where a monster with a dog head, a Kobold, was exiting the crack.

"A doggy was hiding in the wall?"

"N-no Luffy-san, it's a Kobold, a monster. Monsters are born from the walls, everytime you hear this crack noise means that a monster is born.

"I see, so the walls make babies? This place is strange.. so the monster will grow up and then we fight it?"

"No, they're born ready to fight."

Luffy looked at the monster again, the thing looked so weak! Luffy turned to Bell.

"Can we go find stronger monsters?"

"Eh? Hmm Luffy-san, They might not be impressive, but they could be hard to kill for new adventur…"

Pow!

The kobold's head exploded in a spray of blood and bits of meat. The body fell to the ground silently and Bell looked at Luffy, who had somehow moved in front of the monster while Bell was talking and gave the kobold a very light punch.

"Can we go now, Bell?"

.

"Eh….?"O-okay, I guess we can go a little further...W-wait! Before we go I'll show you how to take the magic stones." Bell took out a simple knife and cut open the kobold's chest to dig out a small purple stone and gave it to Luffy.

"Luffy-san, everytime you kill a monster you need to take his stone so you can exchange it for money in the guild and the stronger the monster is, the more value the stone has. Many adventurers have supporters in their party so they can carry more stones. But since It's your first dive I'll be your supporter for today."

"Supporter?"

"The supporters are like adventurers but their role is to extract and carry the magic stones so the adventurers can concentrate on killing monsters. Lily, for example, is a supporter."

"The little girl? Isn't she too young to go into the dungeon?"

"Euh Lily is actually a little older than me, she is small like that because she's a pallum."

"A pallum? What's that?"

"A race. Pallums stay little like that even when they get old."

"I see...Anyway, can we go?"

"Okay but be careful, when you go deeper, the monsters get stronger but also they appear more frequently and a greater number of them can be born at the same time."

"No problem!"

So the two adventurers continued to go deeper and deeper, Luffy distributing punch after punch while walking, stopping only for Bell to collect the stones.

Third floor.

"Oh, a lizard!"

Pow!

Sixth floor.

"Oh, frogs!"

Pow! Pow! Pow!

Eighth floor.

"Oh, the doggy is back!"

POW!

When they reached the twelfth floor, the poor Bell was already on the verge of a mental breakdown. It took him WEEKS to get this far with hard work and countless wounds, but the pirate now adventurer was just walking and one shotting everything that came to him. It was almost unfair, all new adventurers needed to form parties if they wanted to go this deep without dying while Luffy was just strolling, relaxed , almost bored by the monsters which were killed just as easily as the unlucky kobold from the first floor.

"A little dragon! Finally something interesting!"

Bell heard Luffy's exclamation and stopped his depressing thoughts to a four meters long dragon, an infant dragon to be exact, a rare monster who acted as the Monster Rex of the upper floors, a boss. Maybe Luffy will find some challenge in this beast.

The infant dragon itself didn't lose time and launched his attack. He opened his maw wide and splitted a torrent of flames in Luffy's direction.

"Move Luffy-san!" Bell screamed at Luffy, worried for the pirate who stayed immobile looking at the approaching flames. Was he paralysed by fear?

But Luffy suddenly vanished, he didn't move, he simply disappeared just before the attack reached him. Bell looked left and right but didn't find any sign of him until….

"Gum Gum…"

He heard Luffy's voice and looked up.

Luffy was just above the infant dragon, almost floating, his right arm stretched a good three meters upwards. He smirked at the beast, and pulled his arm down.

"BULLET!"

Like a hammer of destruction, his fist descended until it hit the monster's head, smashing it on the ground so hard that the floor literally exploded a few meters all around the impact point, sending rocks flying everywhere.

Bell, who luckily has stood a few paces behind Luffy since they started, could only look with wide eyes as Luffy landed gracefully behind the monster's corpse, unbothered by the debris coming down.

"Amazing…."

Luffy himself was looking at the now dead Dragon with a nostalgic smile.

"I knew someone whose flames were way hotter than yours, you overgrown lizard! Hmm, maybe I should've held back a little, well no matter. Come on Bell!"

"A-ah Luffy-san, I'm coming! Just wait until I take the magic stone." The rabbit descended into the small crater formed by Luffy's attack, stopped in front of the dragon and got to work.

While he was working, the rabbit was once again in deep thoughts. He knew of Luffy's stretching abilities since he told them but Bell didn't realise how useful it could be in a fight. Just by watching the pirate destroy every monster they encountered, he understood that Luffy was really, really strong and stretching seemed to increase his already massive strength. How could a human without Falna obtain that kind of strength? What sort of training Luffy has done to become this strong?

He would ask the pirate later, for now they should keep moving, the day was going to end soon and Bell didn't want to come back home in the middle of the night. Bell took the magic stones and runned after Luffy before the pirate got lost.

"Honestly Luffy-san, with your strength and if we keep that pace, we should be able to go to the fifteenth floor and come back before the day ends."

"I see, I'm starting to get really hungry too. it's so bad that the monsters disappear once you take their stone, the frogs looked tasty. You think we have enough stones to buy some meat?"

"H-ha-ha, I think we have more than enough for you to eat tonight…"

So they continued, wyverns, hellhounds and Almirajs getting in their way but with as much success as the others before them.

"A pink dragon, Gum Gum PISTOL!"

A punch that could reach meters ahead.

"Doggys that spit fire, Gum Gum STAMP!"

A kick that could reach meters ahead.

"Oooh, so many little Bells, Gum Gum GATLING GUN!"

An avalanche of punches that...well, you understand the concept.

Bell was almost crying at Luffy's last sentence, but at least he could observe how this stretching power worked now that Luffy started using techniques rather than giving a simple punch to everything that moved.

And finally they arrived at their destination, but the second they set foot on the fifteenth floor, two cracking noises resonated. The real reason why Bell decided to come here showed itself, minotaurs, two of them apparead armed with greatswords which were spawned by the dungeon itself. It was surely stupid, but Bell wanted to see Luffy fight against at least a minotaur. This monster was symbolising the start of Bell's adventure, getting almost killed by a minotaur in the first days and succeeding at beating one sometimes later was something that he would always be proud of.

"Bulls with swords?" The pirate looked at the monsters and tilted his head.

"Those are called minotaurs Luffy-san. One of the strongest monsters you can find on these floors. Once you have fought them we're going back to the surface."

"You're right, I beat them up and we're going to eat! Hey you big cows, hurry up and come!"

As if they heard him, the two minautors rushed at Luffy one behind the other, the pirate himself just smirked and launched his two arms backward, letting them stretch far behind him. Bell watched the two arms go so far that he couldn't see the hands anymore, was there any limit at how much Luffy could stretch his limbs?

"Gum Gum…."

Just as the first Minautor reached Luffy and raised his weapon high above, the pirate's arm retracted, came back at a trendemous speed before passing Luffy.

"BAZOOKAAA!"

Two palms hit the monster's torso, launching it and the other behind high in the air. The two minotaurs flew until they hit a wall a few tens of meters behind, Slided down the wall, fell on the ground and never moved again.

Bell looked silently at the Minotaurs, what was he expecting seriously? Luffy already showed that he was way too strong for the middle floors. The rabbit simply shook his head and got to work.

The way back to the surface went smoothly, Luffy killed the few monsters they encountered while Bell told him about his own experiences in the dungeon.

How he was almost killed by a Minotaur and saved at the last moment by Aiz Wallenstein.

How he met Lily and believed in her even after she stole his knife and abandoned him on the tenth floor,

his first victory against a Minotaur,

the pass parade,

the black Goliath

and finally the war game with the Apollo Familia.

By the time they reached the surface, Orario was bathing in the last lights of the day.

"Luffy-san, we should hurry to the guild before the exchange counter closes!"

"Understood! Which direction is the guild?"

Bell wondered why Luffy would ask that but he still pointed out where the guild was.

"Yosh, hold the bag tight Bell, we're going to take a little shortcut." Luffy's left arm circled around Bell like a snake while the right shot up and took hold on the edge of a nearby roof.

"Eh? A shortcut? What do you mean Luffy-saAAANNNNN?!"

Luffy and his screaming cargo sailed through Orario's sunset sky.

They entered the guild just before the closure, rushed to the unhappy cashier and exchanged Luffy's magic stones. Bell said that they worked together so the guild employer doesn't get suspicious about how a newbie could collect so much on his first day.

In the end….

"Luffy-san earned one hundred seventy thousands valis."

Silence..

Welf, Lily, Mikoto and even Hestia could only look at Luffy with open mouths and wide eyes after hearing about the pirate's first dive in the dungeon. What can you say to something like that, if it was about a First class adventurer, it still would be impressive but not as mind blowing as that. Even if Bell showed him the way, reaching the fifteenth floor this easily should not be something that fresh level ones could do.

"Kukuku."

Suddenly, the goddess of the familia became the personification of smugness. She crossed her arms under her already impressive twins, pushing them up and looked at Lily.

"So supporter-kun, are you still doubting my instincts?"

"Tch! Lily must admit that she didn't expect something like this, if everything Bell-sama said is true, then Monkey-san is clearly way too strong to stay in the middle floors.." The pallum answered, she trusted Bell of course but it was still hard to believe that a human without falna was this strong.

"And it poses a problem, everyone other than Luffy isn't ready to go into the deep floors…"

Welf was right, even if Bell was level three, him and the other members would only be a hindrance for Luffy. They needed to get stronger if they wanted to be of help in the deep floors.

Mikoto herself clenched her fist in determination. Fate had brought that man into the familia, it was a sign, they needed to get stronger to be able to stand alongside in the dungeon. Maybe they could train with Luffy, sparring with someone so strong would definitely help them.

"But I don't think Luffy-san is going to progress if he stays with us on the middle floors, for gaining enough stats and level up, he needs to go on the deep floors.." Bell was frowning, luffy was amazing, but it also showed how much weaker they were compared to him.

"Mah, no need to worry about that tonight my children. For now I'm just happy that you came back safe and sound. Luffy-kun?"

Hearing his name, Luffy perked up, since he didn't understand how everything worked in the dungeon, he chose to not but in the conversation. It was good if they wanted to get stronger, but Luffy had more pressing matters right now...he was really hungry!

"Yeah Hestia?"

"For now I guess you just want to relax, so don't worry about those things and go celebrate your first day in the dungeon. I'll do your status update tomorrow, for now I think I'll just go to bed."

"Shishishi, I'm not worried, just hungry. I'm going to see if Mama Mia's food is really good, who wants to come?"

"I'm going with you Luffy-san!" Bell raised his hand.

"Lily will stay here."

"I'm staying as well but thank you for the invitation Luffy-dono." Mikoto gave Luffy a small smile.

"Haha I guess It's a guys night then." Welf stood up to follow Bell and Luffy.

"Yosh! Time for some meat!"

Aaaand done! Luffy got his first taste of the dungeon, not really challenging for him but it was expected. Bell is starting to understand how strong Luffy really is, another motivation for the rabbit! But now….. FOOD!

For me it was time to write some little fight scenes and it's REALLY hard, I've always thought it was complicated but not THAT complicated lol .

I try to keep the character's personality but I still make some changes for the story or for my fun like Luffy being just a little bit more mature or Hestia who gets all flustered with a half naked Luffy on her bed lol. Masterx01: Thank you for helping me realise some of my mistakes I always appreciate a constructive critique ^^ I know Bete and Tiona's scene feel random, I think giving them a little more screen time would make it better and I'll be sure to correct that if I rewrite the fourth chap on these days, I just wanted Bete to meet Luffy and Tiona would be coming to stop Bete he get humbled by Luffy but I guess I rushed it and the result wasn't really good.

Don't worry about Bell, in review I say what I really think about him but I don't intend to make him look bad or too weak in the story. He's still the shy but sometimes courageous boy, he needs to get a little more backbone and Luffy will help him a little for that. The reason why I said that Bell will be like a side char acter is because the story is about Luffy, of course many scenes are going to be about others but I don't feel confident enough to write too many character's growth at the same time. Maybe later but not right now.

About women, it's a matter of opinions. I think that if Luffy was a little more mature or would even think about women, he would have a great success( even more if you think about his powers lol). I don't intend to make him a harem king but it's possible that some girls will be attracted to him. Hestia acts like that because i don't want to completely trap her in an obsessive and unrequited love, also Luffy can be just as cute and caring as Bell but he's more confident and has his own charm. Bell moves your shy ass before Luffy steals your waifu! I guess it's also my way to have a little fun lol. Thanks for your review

jjcoop95: Yes Luffy is not the same kid who got angry at Shanks because he let the mountain bandit walk over him. This Luffy knows when it's not worth fighting.

I still don't know if I will pair Luffy since he doesn't really care about those things but if I do it It's clear that Tiona will be one of the most probable.

Yeah Luffy is slowly going to help Bell gain some confidence.

And for magic it's not really a problem, some devil's fruit users have power that can compare to magic and without long chants. Luffy is not invincible but if he can get close, a mage doesn't really stand a chance against Luffy. Thanks for your review.

emiyaichigo: I don't know if he's purer than Bell. Luffy is good at reading people and is kind but he's no hero, most of the time he helps people who fight for something but don't have the strength to win, Vivi and Momo are the perfect example, it's because they found the courage to fight against their oppressor that Luffy choose to help them. Bell will help everyone regardless of who it is, even if you're not trying to fight for yourself or what is important to you.

I'm not going to pretend that I know everything about Aiz since I didn't read Sword Oratoria but other than wanting to get stronger and having an obsession for one type of food, she is no way similar to Luffy. Of course she can be kind to her friends and all but she's most of the time incapable of understanding other people, so focused on her revenge that she doesn't even hesitate to attack Bell when he was protecting Wiene regardless of what he was saying. I'm not saying she's a bad person and she is getting better and better but I find it impossible to compare her and Luffy. Maybe Luffy can help her since he'll be able to see that she has a good heart behind all that hatred but how can he help her?I don't know..

Yes Tiona is more susceptible to spend time with Luffy since she is way more similar to him and I really like her for your review.

Adriaus Nighthunter: Like we've seen in this chap, Luffy doesn't need his gears for the upper and middle floors but of course he will use it when he needs it. There is no schedule since I don't really know how much time I need to write, for example this chap took more time than I thought it would and I tried to not give too much details about the dungeon, the monsters, and Luffy's techniques. "For two years I fought against monstrously-big savage beasts! To wrestle them to the ground, I needed that giant body and bounciness!".If Luffy trained in another place, maybe gear fourth will not be the same.
