Hurting
It had been 7 months since Dom's accident and Ange had only seen him a handful of times. Since the accident there was all that stuff with her and josh and now Carole was ill so Ange just thought it best if she gave him some space, but now she was growing slightly more concerned.
When she did see Dom, which was a rare occasion, it would only be in passing in a corridor or sharing a lift. Ange had started to notice his sunken eyes and vacant expression. She put this down to him being worried about Carole, but there was something telling her that there was more to all of it than just that.
Ange decided to make it her task to talk to him, see what was really going on. Logging on to her computer, Ange checked the Keller staff rota and saw that Dom was due his lunch break in 20 minutes.
She pulled out her phone and searched through the contacts until she reached his name.
She then tapped on it and started to write a message:
"Hi Dominic, wondered if you wanted to have lunch in pulses at 12? Ange x"
20 minutes later*
20 minutes had past and Ange still had no reply. She decided to go up to Keller and see if he was around, maybe he got stuck on theater or something.
The lift doors opened, signaling the arrival to the third floor. Stepping out, Ange walked towards the double doors leading to the ward. She saw Sasha perched at the nurses station.
"What brings you up here?" Sacha asked with a grin.
" I just wanted to check in with Dom, I've not spoken to him for a while and he seems, well … different" Ange replied.
"well I certainly agree with that" Sasha said, his smile now slowly disappearing.
"What do you mean?" Ange asked with an element of concern.
" well he's not spoken two words to anyone, he just hides away in his office all day, and well when he does come out he's falling into patients."
"Falling into patients?" Ange repeats confused.
"It's happened at least four times now in the last week, I mean I've noticed him do it before in the last few months but never this many times in a week," Sacha begins, "he sort of…. Well I don't know really… he goes all pale and sort of stumbles."
" you don't think it could be anything to do with his blood sugar do you, he seems thinner recently"
"Possibly, I've not seen him eat anything recently but that's mainly because he's in his office all day," Sacha replied.
"Right, well I'm going to go check on him." Said Ange.
