Shadow threw Silver into the dark hall and slammed the door behind him. He started angrily pacing around Silver "I should have known. I should have seen the signs" "Dad!" "We had a deal!". Silver looked scared but not for himself "Dad, I know we did. That was before… Aw, it's all so messed up". Shadow stopped and turned to him "So everything in the ring, a trick? A lie?" he turned away. Silver sighed "I screwed up. I should have told you before now. I just… Take this out on me, be mad at me, but please, just don't hurt Cyzer". Shadow turned to him in disbelief "The Wisp? That's what you're worried about? Not the people you almost killed!?" "He was protecting me! He's not dangerous". Shadow scowled at his son "They've killed hundreds of us!" "And we've killed thousands of them! They defend themselves, that's all!". Shadow scoffed and turned away barley listening, "They raid us because they have to. If they don't bring enough food back, they'll be eaten themselves. There's something else on their island. It's a wisp like…". Shadow raised his head and turned back to Silver "Their island? You've been to the nest?". Silver backed away "Did I say nest?" "How did you find it?" "What? No, I didn't. Cyzer did. Only a wisp can find the island". Shadow's eyes opened wide and he turned to the door. Silver immediately realised what he was thinking "No, no, no. Dad, please, no. It's not what you think. You don't know what you're up against. It's like nothing you've ever seen!". Shadow pushed past him and headed for the door. Silver followed him "Dad, please. I promise you; you can't win this one! No, Dad. No". He pulled on his arm "For once in your life, would you please just listen to me!?". Shadow pushed him to the floor and glared down at him "You've thrown your lot in with them. You're not a warrior… You're not my son". He walked out "Ready the ships!" he slammed the door shut on a sad Silver. Outside Shadow suddenly stopped and his eyes widened. He stumbled back looking like he was about to faint. He shook his head and kept walking.
Cyzer was inside a glass container on board one of dozens of ships being readied for battle. Silver watched from a platform as Cyzer hit against the walls of the container desperately trying to escape. Shadow spots Silver before turning away and glaring at Cyzer "Lead us home, devil".
Silver still stood at the platform long after the ships left. Blaze came up next to him "It's a mess. You must feel horrible. You've lost everything, your father, your village, your best friend". Silver sighed "Thank you for summing that up. Why couldn't I have killed that wisp when I found him. Would've been better for everyone". Blaze nodded "Yep. The rest of us would've done it. So why didn't you?". He didn't answer, "Why didn't you?". He turned away "I don't know. I couldn't" "That's not an answer". He crossed his arms "Why is this so important to you all of a sudden?" "Because I want to remember what you say right now". Silver rolled his eyes and turned to her "Oh, for the love of… I was a coward. I was weak. I wouldn't kill a wisp" "You said wouldn't that time" "Whatever! I wouldn't! Three hundred years we've been here and I'm the first one who wouldn't kill a wisp". He groaned and turned to leave but "First to fly with one, though. So…?". Silver sighed and turned back "I wouldn't kill him because he looked as frightened as I was. I looked at him and I saw myself" "I bet he's really frightened now. What're you going to do about it?". Silver slowly shrugged "Eh, probably something stupid" "Good, but you've already done that" "Then something crazy". He ran off and Blaze smirked "That's more like it".
The ships sail into a wall of fog "Stand your position. Stay within earshot". Omega walked up to Shadow "I've been overhearing men say we don't have a plan. Shall I execute them to assert your leadership" "What? No. I have a plan. Find the nest and take it out" "Very well". Shadow turned to Cyzer who peered to his left. Shadow got on the wheel of the ship and turned it to follow Cyzer's gaze.
Silver stood in front of one of the cage doors in the arena, he heard footsteps. He turned to see that Blaze had brought the others. Rotor crossed his arms "If you're planning on getting eaten, I'd definitely recommend a Frenzy". Jet stepped forward "You were wise to seek help from the world's most deadly weapon. Me". Before Silver could respond Jet was pushed out of the way by Shard who grinned "I love this plan" "I didn't…". Wave then pushed Shard out of the way "You're crazy". She leaned closer and smiled "I like that", Silver backed away. Blaze then pulled her out of the way and put her hands on her hips "So, what is the plan?", Silver smirked.
Silver was now leading a Quake out of its cage. The others watched impressed except for Shard who fidgeted with his hands before going for a spear in the ground. Blaze hit his arm "Uh-uh" he drops it. Silver reaches back and grabs Shard's hand "Wait! What're you-?" "Shh! Relax. It's okay". Silver places Shard's hand on the head of the Quake, it gave a gentle noise. Shard slowly smiled and gave an amazed laugh. He then noticed Silver walking away "Where are you going?" "You're gonna need some space to get some practice". The others saw two Cubes, a Drill and a Burst come out of the cages and calmly approach them.
The ships land at the coast with a massive mountain wall in front of them "We're here". Shadow jumps off the ship, other started putting sharp metal polls on the ground and then brought out a line of cannons. Shadow started planning with a small group "When we crack this mountain open all hell is going to break loose". Omega excitedly turned his arms into gatling guns "I shall unleash it right back" "No matter how this ends, it ends today". Shadow raised his right hand and closes a fist. The cannons all fire on the wall creating a huge hole. Shadow slowly approached the cave entrance with Black Sword, a cannon fires another missile. It enters the cave and illuminates the walls revealing it to be covered in wisps. They all swarm out, Shadow and others try to hit them out of the air with their weapons, but all the wisps just fly away without harming anyone. Omega watched them "That was disappointing". Everyone else cheered except for Shadow who looked down and saw Cyzer thrashing about inside his glass cage "This isn't over! Form your ranks! Hold together!". A loud roar could be heard and the ground shook beneath their feet. Shadow ran out of the cave as it collapsed "Get clear!". Everyone scattered as the Mother Wisp breaks through the mountain. Omega armed his guns "This will do!". Shadow watched the creature hold out two clawed tentacles "Gaia help us".
