"Son of a bitch," Piper hissed as she slowly picked up the heavy box in her hands. Why had she done this to herself? All of the servers and the kitchen were slammed, so when they received a delivery, she volunteered to bring it in by herself. She just didn't think there would be so many boxes, and that everything would be so heavy.
Piper placed the box back down and took a few deep breaths. Her forehead was starting to sweat bullets. Piper grabbed her water bottle and took a long gulp. As she turned back around to pick the box back up, she saw a pair of shoes. Reyna quietly picked up the box with an ease that made Piper jealous.
Piper bit her tongue and glared at the other woman. She wasn't jealous that Reyna and Jason slept together, but she couldn't understand why. It hadn't been that long between Jason deciding that he and Piper would no longer sleep together and him fucking Reyna, so what changed his mind? Was Reyna just waiting for them to break up?
"I don't need help," Piper said angrily. Reyna promptly ignored her and walked inside with the box. Piper grabbed another box and slowly walked inside. She placed it down in their storage room before making it back outside. Anger, and maybe a bit of jealousy, burned in her chest as Reyna picked up two boxes with pure ease.
Piper wasn't sure why she was so mad at the other woman. It started with her not telling anyone about Lycaon, and truthfully, Piper didn't really care that she had been attacked. She had been more worried and concerned for Jason. He had almost been killed by Lycaon.
Then, Reyna slept with Jason. It just pissed Piper off. She really felt like her and Jason had something special. He trusted Piper enough to sleep with her, and that trust had come after years of friendship. Reyna had only been there a few months and somehow had acquired that trust so soon.
Piper fumed in anger as they continued to carry boxes inside. As the delivery truck was almost empty, Piper watched Reyna walk past her, and she couldn't hold it in anymore, "Why did you sleep with Jason?"
Reyna's hands rested on a box. She studied Piper and didn't say a word. Piper crossed her arms and glared at her. The fact that Reyna didn't respond or even show any emotion made her angrier. The woman just had her shoulders slightly tensed like she always fucking did.
"I thought Jason really cared for me," Piper hissed.
"Jason said you and him weren't dating," Reyna defended as confusion bloomed in her eyes. "If I knew, I wouldn't have slept with him."
"We're not dating," Piper stated. Reyna stared at her and looked more puzzled than she had a few seconds ago. "Whatever. You don't even care."
Reyna sighed, "Why do you hate me so much, Piper? I haven't done anything to you."
"Except for almost getting Jason and I killed when you didn't tell anyone about Lycaon?" Piper shot back. Reyna looked away. "I shouldn't be surprised. You don't care about anyone but yourself. I can see that in your eyes."
Piper angrily grabbed a box and picked it up. She stormed out of the delivery truck. Angry huffs left her. She knew why she was so upset, and it was only partially because of Jason. Another part was because she was so angry at herself. The biggest part was because even though Piper was a succubus, she was kind of like a werewolf.
Instead of having an excess of energy to let out, she had an excess of emotions. It was something that Piper never told any of her friends before. They had some kind of inkling of it, but none of them actually understood it. The only one who did was Chiron, who had dealt with plenty of succubi in his life.
Just being around people caused Piper to pick up on their emotions, and she found herself feeling that more strongly, almost taking some emotion from that person. Not enough for their mood to change but enough to leave her with an overabundance of said emotion.
That was why Piper always tried to surround herself with positive people like Leo and Frank. There was also Hazel who didn't have a mean bone in her body and was rarely in a bad mood. Jason was usually a happy person, but she could tell when his mood shifted to anger.
Annabeth was worried about something most of the time, causing her to overwork her brain. She would never admit it, though. Chiron worried a lot too, but Piper figured he was more concerned for his bar and the workers there more than anything.
And from Reyna? There was anger. A deep seated anger. Almost hatred, really. But, Piper didn't feel as if it was directed at anyone else or just in general. More inward. Like Reyna hated herself.
Piper was feeling some of that excess anger building inside her. She sighed and looked down. The best way for her to get those emotions out was to have sex, and quite frankly, she just really enjoyed that. At least with Jason.
Piper had been with a few men before, and some of them were nice. They cared for her boundaries. Others just wanted her for her pretty face. All of them wanted her because they thought she was easy. But not Jason.
When Piper made it back to the delivery truck, she saw that Reyna was still standing there. Her eyes were unfocused, making it look like she was a million miles away. Piper stopped nearby and glanced at her. She opened her mouth.
"Just leave me alone, Piper. You've made your point," Reyna muttered. Her fists were tightly clenched as she stared at the boxes in front of her.
"Do you know why I'm so mad that you and Jason slept together?" Piper asked as she crossed her arms. Reyna didn't look at her. "I have emotions, an excess of them. I pick it up from the people around me. It doesn't influence me. More so causes me to feel certain things a little more than others."
"The best way for me to regulate my emotions is during sex," Piper continued. "I have a high drive in general, and a lot of people think my kind are just whores. They think we'll sleep with anyone who walks our way. People at my school learned I was a succubus, and everyone offered to bend me over whenever I was bored."
"Jason never treated me like that. He never acted like I was a whore or an easy lay. I believed him too," Piper muttered. "But if he's just going to move on to you, I'm clearly just a whore. I'm just that easy."
"You're not easy," Reyna rebutted immediately. "You seem pretty rigid in your morals. If you were a whore, you would already have someone else to sleep with."
"Look," Reyna continued. She met Piper's eyes. "I don't have to keep sleeping with Jason. I only did it because he wants to sleep with someone that he knows. That he trusts. That's why he asked."
"And, that pisses me off!" Piper snapped. "Him and I were friends for years, and it took forever for him to feel comfortable enough to have sex with me. Yet, you come along and instantly do it with him? What does that say about me?! I'm just an easy lay to him!"
"For fuck's sake Piper! No, you're not," Reyna returned back harshly. "Jason insisted that he needed to have sex to let out his excessive energy, and he wanted to respect your wishes. That's one of the reasons he asked. I have my own excess energy to get out, and fuck, I just wanted to have sex with someone I know. For once."
"For once," Piper repeated. Reyna looked away and tensed completely. Piper wanted to prod, but she knew that she had not earned that right. It took her a few moments to think of her next words as silence passed between them. "I'm sorry, Reyna. I shouldn't be taking my anger out on you."
"With me, I feel these emotions a lot stronger if I don't let them out," Piper explained. "And, I just feel so fucking mad. I want to hit something. When I saw you walk out of Jason's room, I just wanted to scream. I just... did I make a mistake in telling him we have to date if we're going to sleep together?"
"No," Reyna said. "That's another reason you're not an easy lay. You want a relationship before you continue to have sex."
"Well, I'm back to square one," Piper grumbled. "Jason won't sleep with me now. The only guys I know that might sleep with me are pigs. I just... want someone that I know won't use me for their own pleasure without considering me. Someone I actually know."
"Piper," Reyna began. She looked away for a few moments and then tensed her shoulders. Reyna met Piper's eyes. "I could... sleep with you."
"You're sleeping with Jason," Piper retorted. She stared at Reyna, shocked by the offer.
"It's no strings attached," Reyna stated. "We're both just doing it to get our excess energy out. And, I'm not offering this because I think you're easy. I just want you to know that you have the option if you need it. Not that you'll really need it. You're really fucking hot."
Reyna stopped rambling and looked down. Piper stared at her dumbfounded, "I haven't slept with a woman before."
Reyna nodded, and her face shined a beet red. Piper cleared her throat and forged on, "I have to think about that. I just don't want to say yes and then back out later."
"It's okay if you do," Reyna said softly. She shrugged and shifted again. "Um, I just... I don't know. You don't have to consider the offer if you don't want to. I just thought it might..."
Reyna trailed off and seemed unsure of what to say or do. Her gaze moved to Piper, "Or, you can just punch me in the face if you want."
"I'll resist the urge," Piper replied. Reyna nodded and picked up a box. Her face was tomato red. Reyna walked out of the delivery truck, and Piper watched her go with a frown. She wasn't quite sure how to feel about the woman now.
If Piper knew more about Reyna's past, she was sure that she could make sense of her actions. For now, she was just confused. The offer bounced around in Piper's head, and guilt ran through her chest because she was considering it. Partially because Reyna was someone that she did know more than anyone else who would readily sleep with her.
Did Piper trust Reyna? She wasn't for sure on that one, but that wasn't the reason she felt guilty. The biggest reason Piper was thinking about sleeping with Reyna was that if she did, Jason might get very jealous.
