Larnawe

The first time I saw him, I was fifteen years old, it was a warm day in Minas Tirith. The sun was shining, and the breeze mercilessly threw my hair in my face. I was sitting amidst the Yellow dandelions watching the women working in the large field. Sitting was all I could do, an honored guest was coming and I was not allowed to soil my dress. I listened to the gossiping of the wives and the cooing of the daughters I didn't understand all that they were talking about I was too young then to understand love and Betrothals perhaps I was a bit naïve for my age. But I was a princess and had no need to worry about that then.

When he did arrive it was very close to my bed time, I was sitting with my father in his study. I was thumbing through the large pages of maps when a young man was escorted into the study. My father stood up immediately and greeted the man like they were old friends. The man was Faramir and he was Steward of Gondor. His face was worn from his days as a ranger and his dark hair was sitting neatly on his shoulders but his smile was young and kind when he noticed I was sitting there. "Faramir this is my eldest daughter Larnawe.." Father motioned toward me and made his way back to his cozy armchair. "How do you do my lady?" He bowed politely then also made his way to a chair. I stood up slowly and curtsied respectfully. "It's a pleasure to meet you Lord Faramir, I hope you enjoy your stay with us...Goodnight Ada." I then walked out of the room with as much dignity as I could conjure, once I was out of the room however, I ran to my room as fast as my feet could take me. Faramir's visit was certainly not his first since I had been born but I always seemed to just miss him. When I was twelve I fell out of a tree and spent three days in the House of Healing. When I was seven my sister Danea was born, and I was busy taking "care" of my Mother. When I reached my room my face was crimson from running and my dark hair had tangled itself into a large knot. Though I was tired I couldn't help but smile at this strange feeling in my stomach.
