'It's showtime' Best Bro grinned, checking on his gadgets once more. There was no way he would screw it up like Bubbler or Rocketear. He pressed the comlink button.
'Yes, Best Bro?' Shadow Moth said, acknowledging his request. 'I presume you remember the plan?'
'Yes, Shadow Moth. Lila Rossi has wronged my bro and my sis, and she is best friends with Ladybug. Thus, I need to take her for a ride and lure Ladybug out, and then take her earrings. Probably Chat Noir will senselessly sacrifice himself trying to save her, and I will have his ring.'
'Good. Good. I'm watching over you' Shadow Moth said and Best Bro was sure he could hear a grin in the voice. He jumped onto his hoverboard and slid towards Lila Rossi's place. She had been at school that day, so hopefully she wasn't on another trip.
X-ray vision was great to pinpoint location of the target. Best Bro stealthily flew to her window and cut a hole in the glass, then reached in and opened the window. It was only then that the target noticed him.
'A-an akuma!' she shrieked. He threw a lasso at her. And there was the first wrinkle in the plan: neither he nor Shadow Moth accounted for Lila's mother to be home.
'Get away from my daughter, you villain!' the woman shouted, wielding a heavy meat tenderizer. 'Just because the heroes are so incompetent you terrorized Paris for month doesn't mean you can be this cocky!'
'What?' both Best Bro and Shadow Moth said in unison; of course only Best Bro was heard.
'You heard me!'
Best Bro blinked a few times. And then laughed.
'Ma'am, maybe you should watch some reliable news from time to time. None of the akumas lasted more than a few days, and that's stretching it!' he chuckled. 'So now that we clarified it, I'll be borrowing the bait. See you soon!'
The sheer audacity of the akuma froze Mrs. Rossi in her tracks, allowing Best Bro a quick escape. He zipped above Paris buildings, grinning to himself.
'Aw don't you worry, little bait' he cackled at Lila. 'Your best friend will soon arrive to save you. But not soon enough for me to miss an unique chance to avenge my sis and my bro!'
'Stop gloating, and start baiting!' Shadow Moth scolded him. Best Bro shrugged.
'Ah, her screams will be bait enough. Two birds with one stone, right?'
'...I'm surrounded by idiots.'
Best Bro ignored this comment. He turned his attention to Lila, licking his lips and cocking a bright orange gun.
'Oh yeah... you couldn't keep your hands away from my bro, right...?' he smirked as he sprayed liquid gum on her hands. Lila screamed, surely that would attract attention. He laughed at the girl who was trying in vain to free her fingers.
'And my sis... you just couldn't help spreading lies about her, right? You had to take advantage of my bro's crush on her. So that he would bend over backwards to protect her...' Best Bro flashed a wicked smile. 'Your dirty mouth deserves some deep cleaning!'
He pressed a button on his gun and sprayed soap water right into her mouth as she screamed.
Multiple phones pinged with akuma alert.
