The akuma was fast and stealthy. It wasn't boasting, it wasn't engaging in wanton destruction, it just transformed at one place and made its way - away from school.
Catastrophink chased the akuma. This one seemed less flashy than what he normally witnessed. Quite the contrary - it looked almost like a normal person, and if it wasn't spotted transforming, it would probably be just chalked up to being a petty burglar. But what petty burglar would want to break into a bakery? No, not bakery - to an apartment above the bakery.
The same that Catastrophink, as Evillustrator, broke into with nefarious intent. Hopefully Marinette would understand if the fight got... too intense.
Where is Ladybug? Catastrophink thought as he followed the akuma inside. It was weird. The akuma didn't attempt to fight him, just evade. And it dashed into Marinette's room, picked up... a sewing box? And made its way out.
'Stop!' Catastrophink yelled, but the akuma was so fast he had serious trouble keeping up with it. Ladybug appeared next to him, to his relief.
'What did it do?' she asked.
'It managed to get into an apartment, and stole a sewing box!'
Ladybug looked pale beneath her mask.
'What... what apartment?' she asked, terrified.
'Above the Dupain-Cheng bakery. You must know the one. Best one in Paris.'
Ladybug nearly fainted in shock.
'No... no, we must get it back!'
They chased after the akuma, which dashed away from them, hugging the sewing box to its chest.
'It's weird though. It didn't come after our Miraculous. Looks like Shadow Moth changed its tactics...' Catastrophink frowned. Ladybug didn't seem to hear him. She collapsed to the ground as she lost the akuma from sight. Catastrophink extended his baton and looked from above.
'I think it's headed towards the Seine' he called out and went back to Ladybug. They dashed there - but there was no sign of the akuma.
Catastrophink climbed up to scout from above again.
But the akuma was nowhere to be seen.
Ladybug hid her face in hands.
'It's over - that's the end - Shadow Moth has won...' she rambled. Catastrophink shook her shoulder.
'Isn't it the time for your Lucky Charm?' he asked. Ladybug stared at him.
'What will it do now?'
'Well, maybe it will show us the way?'
'Maybe you're right - LUCKY CHARM!''
She caught the object conjured by the Ladybug magic. She frowned as she watched it from every angle.
'A tablet? What am I supposed to do with a tablet?'
