A/N: Well, the reviews convinced me to add an epilogue to the story, to tie up some loose thread. Enjoy!
Monday was bright and sunny from the morning. Emilie knocked at her son's door.
'Adrien, breakfast is ready' she called out to him. Adrien grabbed his school bag and headed to the dining room; he took his usual place between his parents. Breakfast was well-balanced and tasty like always. Adrien didn't hurry with eating, savoring every bite.
'The announcement of new contest is planned for tomorrow' Gabriel said. 'If the girl with pigtails hesitates whether to enter or not, remember to give her a nudge in right direction, shall you? It would be a shame to have such a talent and miss out.'
Adrien blushed. Marinette was sure to place well in any fashion contest, with her raw talent and honed skills. But it was still nice to hear his father praise her.
Emilie laid her hand on Adrien's shoulder.
'She means a lot to you, doesn't she?' she asked with a gentle smile. Adrien blushed even more.
'Y-yes, she's pretty amazing... and talented, and... and very nice...'
'You may invite her over today. Just don't tell her about the contest' Gabriel offered. Adrien was even redder, but nodded.
'Should we ask Nathalie to schedule another person for dinner?' Emilie smiled at the boy. Adrien nodded again. He couldn't swallow another bite.
'OhmyI'llbelateforschoolseeyouatlunchbreakbye!' he said quickly and sprinted out of the door, grabbing his bag. He didn't hear his parents chuckle. He dashed to school, only slowing down a block away. He reached the school and talked to Nino briefly, and they bumped fists. And thus, Adrien took a seat in second row, in Alya's usual place. As always, Marinette stumbled into the classroom at last moments, and blushed as she saw Adrien in Alya's place. The boy smiled kindly at her.
'Hello, Marinette. I was thinking I'd accompany you today... and maybe you'd accompany me in the afternoon at my place?'
Marinette squealed happily.
Life was good.
