Meredith wandered through the front door of her house sneezed loudly and after rubbing her red runny nose with a worn out tissue walked to her kitchen coughing and wheezing to make a hot drink she boiled the kettle and hearing a noise "hey doc" spun around in a panic and relaxed as she saw who it was, "oh Mia I forgot you were home" she muttered as sat down in a chair taking deep breaths. Meredith rubbed her red nose with a tissue and felt a hand rubbing the back of her shoulder, "are you sick?" Mia asked.
"Yeah honey I am" Meredith's hand shot to her mouth as she started a coughing fit, "I was sent home from work."
Mia pulled up a chair to sit beside Meredith, "you sound like I was when I got sick... only ten times worse."
Meredith turned her head to smile, "you didn't give me this virus Mia, I work with a lot of sick people and sometimes this happens its part of being a doctor."
"Maybe you got it from all the stress" Mia continued to rub Meredith's back, "I mean with everything going on with me."
"Mia" Meredith turned her chair around to face her young charge, "this is not your fault don't blame yourself and its nothing really" Meredith let out another loud sneeze and took a few seconds to recover before she looked up at Mia, "now what do you want for dinner?"
"What I want for dinner" Mia got out of the chair and took hold of Meredith's hands, "is for you to get into bed and rest."
"Mia i'm fine."
"You don't sound fine" Mia stood up and placed her hands on her hip wearing a mocking grin, "now come on you are to go to bed young lady."
Meredith gave Mia a frown, "Mia you should never take the piss out of a sick person."
"No backchat either doc" Mia pulled Meredith to her feet and started to steer her out of the kitchen and up the stairs.
"Okay" Meredith sighed as she climbed into her bed and snuggled under the covers, "i'll stay here for a while until I go to pick Noah up."
Mia pulled the covers up around Meredith, "your not going to pick Noah up from school today either."
"Mia how else is he going to get home, he's to young to catch the bus by himself."
"I'll go and pick him up from school."
Meredith sighed, "Mia."
"Come on it will be fun" Mia sat at the edge of the bed wearing a grin, "i'll pick him up and we'll go for icecreams, we'll get tattoos and i'll get us tickets to go to a rock concert."
Meredith let out a chuckle, "as long as the tattoes wash off in the tub and the rock concert is on the television" Meredith reached into her pocket and pulled out two ten dollar notes, "here is money for the bus and to get something nice for yourselves."
"But i'm grounded."
"Well you've been very nice to Noah and Noah has loved having you here and you have been a bit better behaved over the last few days so i'm taking two days off your grounded time."
Mia grinned, "thanks, you want some tea or a biscuit or something?"
"Some tea and a biscuit would be lovely."
"You want some music or... I could give you a massage."
Meredith chuckled again, "I don't think I want another one of your "massages" Mia."
Mia made an innocence gesture, "I wouldn't tickle you this time, promise."
"Just some tea please."
"Okay dude" Mia dashed downstairs and Meredith lied back in bed feeling for the first time since she started to look after Mia at peace with the world.
Later that day when the school bell finally rang Noah was walking out of his classroom towards the carpark where his mum or Cristina always waited for him, he spotted Ally waving at him from the entrance of a nearby classroom and wandered over to her, "hi Ally."
"Hi Noah" Ally replied as she started to walk down the school corridor with Noah as other children ran past towards the school carpark, "Noah."
"Yeah?"
"Why is Mia staying at your house?"
"Because" Noah thought hard to himself he didn't fully understand why Mia was living with them, his mum had told him he was still to young to fully understand the reasons why. He tried to think of what his mum had said to him, "I don't know mom says Mia is at our house to get help."
"What kind of help, maybe Mia is sick."
"She used to be sick but mom also said Mia is staying with us so she can learn new things."
"What does that mean?"
"I don't know" Noah said before he smiled, "but Mia is lots of fun she teaches me how to sneak cookies out of the cookie jar when mommy is asleep."
Ally sighed, "I wish she stayed at my house to."
"Hey guys" Ally and Noah looked up and with matching grins ran to give Mia a joint hug, Ally was the first to draw back "Mia could you stay at my house this time."
"Ally" Mia said as she looked with sad eyes at her baby sister, "i've got to live with Noah and the doc, I mean Noah's mum."
Ally pouted, "its not fair." Mia reached out with her free hand to rub Ally's arm, "i'm only at Noah's house for a few weeks then maybe once I do court, I mean the grown up stuff I could go over to your house to visit maybe."
"I wish you lived with me to."
"Ally" Mia drew Ally back into her hug as her other hand rubbed Noah's back, "hey I got an idea what if you both of you kids lived in the same house then I could come and see you both at the same time."
Noah smiled, "I like that idea."
"Me to" Ally added as she grinned, "then Mia can live with both of us."
"Um" Mia frowned, "you two living together might not happen for a while."
"Oh" Noah muttered.
"But when it happens I could come and visit both of you in the same house".
"Or" Ally smiled, "you could live with both of us and daddy and Noah's mommy to."
"I ah" Mia stuttered, "I don't think that will ever happen bumblebee."
"Do you want to live with us Mia." Mia turned to Noah and chuckled, "of course I do silly" she said as she lightly tickled Noah's ribs, Noah let out a giggle in response, "its just that I might have another home to go to soon."
"Ally" a loud voice said Ally looked past, "daddy" Ally jumped into Derek's arms, "hey Ally, Noah mate, and Mia."
"Hey big Derek" Mia said
"Hi big Derek" Noah said as Derek smirked, "hey big Noah, hey Mia."
"Daddy" Ally interrupted, "can Noah and Mia live with us."
"Ah" Derek said as she placed Ally on the ground and bent down to her level, "well look this is something the grownups need to talk about but Mia she might have another place to go to in the next few weeks its not that we wouldn't like it if Mia and Noah lived with us but-"
"This makes no sense" Ally said and Noah nodded.
"Well yeah" Derek said looking uncomfortable, "its just grown up stuff that is complicated and I know it looks like it doesn't make any sense but um... hey listen would you like me to give you guys a ride home."
"Well we were going to get something to eat" Mia replied with a smirk, "but you know we could hang out with you and talk about the benefits of you and Meredith moving in together."
"Actually" Derek said with a uneasy grin, "you know I just remembered I got to take Ally to the dentist."
Ally looked mortified, "you didn't say anything about the dentist."
"Well I just remembered you needed to see the dentist this afternoon, don't worry it will be fine there won't be any drilling."
"See ya kiddo" Mia rubbed Ally's hair, "have fun."
Ally grumbled, "i'm seeing the dentist does it sound like fun." Mia smiled and walked off with Noah before Derek bent down, "Ally the dentist thing was a joke."
"A joke?"
"Yeah your not seeing the dentist today."
Ally narrowed her eyes, "daddy that was a mean joke."
"Yeah i'm sorry but Holly and her mum asked me if we wanted to see them at the park today."
"Your forgiven daddy" Ally said as she happily jumped in the backseat of Derek's car.
Noah looked up at the streetlights and then up at Mia, "Mia" Noah took Mia's hand as they started to cross the street to the mall, "why does mommy say your living with us to learn new things."
Mia crossed the street with Noah in silence before saying, "little mate the reason why i'm staying with you and your mum is because I did a lot of bad things in the past."
"Like what?"
"Like tying your mum up and stealing her car."
"Oh."
"Yeah" Mia said with a small smile, "and other things, I shouldn't have done what I did to your mom and dude your lucky to have a mum that's so nice."
"Mommy used to be nice" Noah broke off, "but she's unhappy now."
"Nah she's okay, I think she's just a bit stressed."
"What does stressed mean?"
"It means that um well your scared something bad is going to happen, I think your mommy is stressed because she is scared something bad is going to happen to me."
"Mia" Noah whispered.
"Yeah?"
"I think i'm stressed."
"Dude" Mia picked Noah up and showed a big cheesy grin, "nothing bad is going to happen to me."
"But I thought you said you were going to go to jail."
"Well" Mia said as her grin was replaced with a half hearted smile, "we'll see what happens."
"If you go to jail I won't see you again."
"You can come and visit me, but if jail is scary for you its ok if you don't come and visit."
Noah drew his arms around Mia's neck, "i'll go to jail with you."
Mia smiled, "thanks handsome but it will freak your mum out if you come to jail with me and say hi once in a while then that would be great" Mia said as she put Noah down on his feet, "come on we're out here to have fun lets go get icecream."
Noah looked up at the entrance to the shopping mall and then a thought crossed his mind, "Mia where is your mum?"
Mia took a deep breath before she answered, "my mum's dead Noah."
"Oh."
"Its ok, it was a long time ago."
"You look sad."
"Well yeah" Mia muttered as she closed her eyes a little, "I just miss her that's all."
"If you and Ally are sisters that means Ally's mum is-"
"Yeah me and Ally our mum is dead and our dad is dead is, you know what they're in heaven and they're happy so its fine."
"But Ally has a dad now... why."
"Well Ally got adopted by Derek and when your adopted you get a new dad or a new mum or sometimes both."
"So" Noah said slowly as a new smile started to form on his face, "if my mommy adopted you than you would have a new mom."
Mia scoffed and turned up her face, "get real I mean" she said as she recovered, "dude your mum is not going to adopt me."
"If she did would that mean you would live with me forever."
"Don't start wetting your pants with excitement its not going to happen."
"What if we ask her and say please."
"Noah dude i'm to old to be adopted okay, little kids get adopted into nice families big kids like me when we get adopted its into places like prostitution"
"What's prostitution?"
"Ah never mind look the point is" Mia said as she raised her voice, "I don't want to be adopted by your mum or anyone else. I had a mum she was good and now she's gone and I don't want another mum okay."
Noah nodded sadly and rubbed his eyes as Mia bent down, "sorry buddy i'm yelling i'm not angry at you i'm just, little dude it would be nice if I was living with you and Ally and if I wanted a new mum than I would want your mum to adopt me but I don't. Sometimes things don't work out the way we want them to, its just the way things are when your older you'll understand."
"Why can't it be good."
"It is good, you've got a great home and a great mum and a great life."
"That's good"
"And I've got the coolest friend in the world, guess who that is."
"That would be me" Noah grinned.
"That's right" Mia said as she grinned back, "so coolest friend in the world are you ready for ice cream."
"Born ready."
Meredith wearily opened her eyes and heard the voices of Mia and Noah downstairs wandered downstairs to find Mia making Noah a fruit smoothie, "here you go handsome" Mia turned to Meredith and raised an eyebrow, "and what do you think your doing out of bed without a doc, doc."
"I'm just checking on Noah" Meredith said with amusement, "and i'm wondering how your homework is coming along."
"Yeah its going great."
"Well i'm glad because your school called me today to remind me that you are due to go back to school on Monday and they want to see all your homework done."
"Hey any paperwork I don't get done i'll just make into paper planes" Mia threw a paper plane and Meredith caught it, "Mia."
"Let me guess" Mia put on a deep voice, "your grounded" smirking as Noah laughed beside her and even Meredith snuffled a snort,"Mia I."
"I think you should go back to bed."
"Mia" Meredith turned and felt Mia's hand on her shoulder blades leading her back up the stairs towards her bedroom, "you know if I wasn't sick I would be giving you a very long stern lecture right now."
"If you lectured me anymore you would be like a professor of history or something" Meredith climbed back into bed and sighed until she felt a cold hand on her ankle and she shot up, "Mia no no Mia do not tickle my foot."
Mia chuckled, "i'm just putting your socks on, here watch some tv" Meredith heard the television switch on and looked at swearing anime characters and she shook her head and waved a hand, "Mia" Mia laughed and waved the remote out of reach from Meredith's outreached fingers, "Mia give me the remote." Mia gave Meredith the remote and smirked as Mia sighed, "Mia are you doing all this because you want to help me feel better or because you just want to wind me up."
"Both."
"Well when you go back to school next week as I am in bed i'll have a hard time getting out of bed at short notice so please don't get into trouble at school, the last thing I feel like doing is driving to school to pick you up."
"I won't get in trouble" Mia said as Meredith frowned before Mia patted Meredith's knee with her hand, "relax dude i'll be as good as gold."
"Ok, thank you for getting Noah."
"Your welcome sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" Mia said in a annoying tone of voice.
"Get your homework done" Meredith said back as Mia closed the door and Meredith drifted back to sleep the next morning Meredith heard a knocking on the door and she sighed, "Mia."
"Hey doc" a deep voice said and Meredith rolled her eyes, "funny you sound just like Derek."
Derek opened the door, "well guess what i've grown facial hair."
"You came by for a visit."
"Well" Derek sat on the bed and took Meredith's hand in his, "I heard you were sick."
"Mia dobbed me in."
"Yeah and she also told she's having her first counselling session today so I came round to look after you."
Meredith looked at her bedside water and tissues, "I think Mia beat you to it."
"Well I can make you soup."
"Soup would be wonderful."
"And then I could spend the afternoon watching you sleep."
"That kinds of creeps me out" Meredith smiled, "unless you were here with me."
Derek kissed Meredith's knuckles, "as much as I want to now is probably not the best time."
"Being sick isn't fun, so amazing man what else are you going to do for me today."
"I could ah tidy the place up and take Micky for a walk."
Meredith nodded, "that would be wonderful and that's part of why your amazing."
"Well part of why i'm amazing is because you make me feel amazing."
"That's..."
"Amazing" Derek finished, Meredith and Derek chuckled as Derek smiled faded slightly, "so Mia didn't sound to happy about her counselling today."
"Her social worker recommended it" Meredith looked out the window, "but yeah even though she said yes I could tell she was not keen to do it, I hope it will be alright."
"She still went though that's a good sign and she might feel better afterwards, after everything she went through talking about it could really help her."
Meredith nodded, "I hope it can, maybe if I hadn't been so irritable with her all the time Mia might want to talk with me about it."
"Your getting better, your getting back to your old self your not letting yourself worry so much about Mia's future anymore."
"I guess not."
"Okay i'm going to take Micky out and i'll let you get some sleep."
"Thanks honey."
Meredith closed her eyes and feeling restless decided she needed to get out of bed she got up and made some lunch before she heard a knock on the door, "come in Derek."
"Its not Derek" a familiar voice said.
Meredith went to open the door and saw a sullen Mia glaring at the floor, "hey how was your-"
"I don't want to talk about it" Mia said as she stormed through the doorway Meredith heard her bedroom door closed and turned to Mia's social worker Kathy, "it didn't go well?"
"She was in there for twenty minutes" Kathy replied, "then she stormed out she muttered it was a waste of time and its no one else's business."
Meredith nodded, "i'll try and talk to her see if I can get her to return."
"I would really appreciate it if you could."
Meredith said goodbye to Kathy and after closing the door went to the kitchen to make a sandwich before she walked over to Mia's closed bedroom door, "Mia can I come in."
"Its your house" Mia muttered.
Meredith slowly opened the door and smiled, "I made you a sandwich."
"Thanks" Mia replied as she took the plate as Meredith sat down on the bed beside her and rubbed a gentile arm up and down Mia's shoulder, "so my foster carer senses detect that something is bothering you."
"Its nothing" Mia whispered.
"Sweetheart you can tell me anything, what happened in the counselling session today."
"It was ok at first... but then she started asking me all these questions about the past."
"Mia" Meredith said softly, "I understand if your past is difficult to talk about but if your feeling angry then keeping it bottled up inside won't make the pain go away talking about it can help."
"I don't want to talk about it" Mia said in a raised voice, "I just want to put all the crap that's happened behind me and move on."
"If you don't want to talk to a counsellor then maybe you could talk to-"
"I'm not talking to you about it either can we please just forgot it."
Meredith knew that it was pointless pushing Mia when she was feeling like this it would only make her more angry and she decided to change the subject, "well then can you show me how to change my ringtone back."
Mia looked up and instantly smiled, "oh you don't like it."
"Well the last few days i've had various ringtones, rap songs, funny voices and farting sounds every time my phone has rung this week, I prefer the happy melody I had before."
"But the melody is so lame."
"Ok" Meredith said smiling, "well how about we spend the afternoon looking for a new ringtone one that we'll both like." Mia nodded smiling back until Meredith turned away to cough and Mia put a hand on Meredith's neck, "doc do you need to see a doc."
"I'm not staying in bed forever i'm going stir crazy as it is, now what do you think of this ringtone."
"Ah that's ok but what about this" a ringtone played Mia started to boogie and Meredith smirked, "I don't think so."
"Ok we'll keep looking."
A few days later and Meredith was finally back at work still tired but eager to get out of the house she wandered through to the meeting room and was greeted by Callie and Arizona giving her a friendly smile, "hey your alive."
I am" Meredith replied as she wearily rubbed her head, "I had the mother of all flus and i'm still not 100%."
"How did you get so crook" Callie asked.
"Well I was looking after a certain fifteen year old that was sick and then I became stressed with looking after said fifteen year old and I became sick myself."
"Oh so how goes it being a first time foster carer?"
"Well at first she was driving me crazy."
"We thought it might be like that"
"Between the swearing and the rebellious attitude and the practical jokes, not to mention she liked torturing me in the morning with tickling it was more tiring then sixteen hour days at work. She also rerecorded the answering machine it now says you've reached the home of crazy nice lady obsivously I can't answer the phone so when you hear the beep spill your guts."
Arizona let out a giggle, "oh dear and now."
"Now" Meredith said and paused before saying, "I really like having her living with me for the last few days she would come home from school, help Cristina make dinner and come to chat to me about what she's learning at school and the friends she is making, she watches movies with me and Noah every night and tells me corny jokes and... its like I have a teenager as my best friend, does that sound bizarre."
"It sounds like you and her are bonding."
"I think we are and Noah loves having her live with us to, I don't know how he's going to cope when she leaves and I know i'm going to miss her terribly to, I just hope it will all work out okay for her."
"It will be okay."
"Yeah" Meredith said as she thought about court until she heard her phone ringing, "speaking of which that's probably Mia's school principal asking me to pick her up, Meredith turned on the phone, Mia what's happened."
"Nothing."
"Nothings happened?"
"Nope."
"Than why are you ringing me at work?"
"To let you know nothing has happened and i'm having a good day, how is it being back at work" laughter was heard on the phone and Meredith forrowed her eyes, "Mia please don't ring me at work to prank call me."
"Oh why not its funny."
"You know that i'm at work and I have important things to do."
"Okay okay chill out, hey can we get maccas for tea?"
"Only if I don't receive any more phone calls about your behaviour today."
"You got a deal doc."
"Okay" Meredith chuckled, "have a nice day ratbag."
Mia snorted, "you to see ya."
Meredith closed her phone, "that being said" as Callie and Arizona sniggered, "there are still moments where I just want to scream in annoyance."
After work Meredith opened the door carrying mcdonalds and heard the television in the living room and Mia and Noah talking she stopped in the kitchen to make a glass of water and look through her phone as she heard Mia talking, "hey look look there" Mia said.
"Where" Noah said.
"There's a crocodile on the telly."
"Yeah a big crocodile."
"You want to pet a crocodile?"
"Why?"
"Cause it would be fun."
"What if it eats me."
"Yeah it might eat you, hey you know what else is going to eat you."
"What?"
"Mia."
Noah laughed and ran out of the living room and into the kitchen before he saw his mum and went to hide behind Meredith's legs, "mommy help me" as Mia darted into the kitchen and quickly picked a squealing Noah up in her arms. "Its okay its okay little dude, I mean little snack I just want to gobble you up like this" Mia brought Noah to the kitchen floor with her face on Noah's belly and made gobbling noises and raspberries with her mouth as Meredith smiled and watched the interaction Noah laughing, squealing and rolling around while Mia took deep breaths and blew on Noah's skin. Meredith loved watching Mia playing with Noah and waited for Mia to wait for Noah to catch his breath before she knocked on the doorframe, "Mia if your finished eating my son you and Noah can come eat the maccas I brought."
"Oh sweet" Mia got to her feet and picked Noah up as she carried him to the kitchen.
"So how was your day Mia?"
"Well" Mia looked unhappy, "I got my maths test back."
Meredith just nodded Mia had been out of school for months she knew that Mia had a lot of catching up to do, "its ok Mia you'll do better next time i'm sure."
"Yeah" Mia said, "I got a b."
"Mia" Meredith smiled, "you got a b that's great."
"It is?"
"Of course it is you've been out of school for weeks this is wonderful."
"Ok" Mia muttered.
"No it is good on you this is great i'm proud of you."
Mia looked embarrassed, "thanks doc hey um since I got a good mark I was wondering there's a party going on this friday and I was wondering since I got a good grade could I go."
Meredith frowned and started to worry as Mia pleaded, "please please i'll be good I promise i'll stay out of trouble."
Meredith weighed it up it was something Mia wanted to do and she had been sticking to school recently Meredith nodded, "ok ."
"Thanks" Mia said as she chomped down on fries, while Noah did the same.
A few days later Meredith was sipping coffee as her worries built up, then the door opened and Meredith looked at Mia in a long black dress, makeup and nice shoes, "that dress fits you like a glove."
Mia just smiled at the compliment, "I really like it" Meredith nodded as she took deep breaths and Mia shook her head, "don't worry miss worry there's no need to worry."
Meredith nodded, "i'm trying not to be a pain, I know you've been really looking forward to this."
"Doc i'll be fine don't worry" Meredith nodded as she smiled, "okay have a great time just remember to be careful and call me or Derek straight away if anything goes wrong and don't stay out to late."
A car honked outside,"that's my ride" Mia walked out the door and Meredith turned on the television to try and occupy her mind. A few hours later Derek had finished work had dropped off Ally at a sleepover for the night and was getting ready to go to bed himself when his phone rang and his brow furrowed as he saw who it was, "Mia?"
"Derek hey, I think I drank something and i'm feeling like crap."
Derek stood up to attention, "Mia are you still at the party?"
"Yeah."
"Okay i'm going to come get you just wait for me." Derek put on his coat and hurried out the door and pulled up to a house and saw a teenager he was all to familiar with stumbling around and a couple of girls filming her on their cameras laughing, "Mia."
"Derek" Derek made a loud oomph as a large body threw herself into his arms, he looked at Mia grinning and chuckling, "Mia what did you drink?"
"Just some stuff, you came to party."
"Mia" Derek put Mia down and scowled at a couple of girls laughing nastily as they continued to film, Derek heard a youtube comment and looked at Mia stumbling like a baby deer that was learning to walk, "I think we should go back to Meredith's house."
"Yeah" Mia muttered as she stumbled to Derek's car, Derek helped her into the back seat before he slowly drove off as Mia mumbled, "i'm going to jail cause i'm a bad bad girl."
"We don't know that" Derek replied as he started to worry about the police finding out what had happened to Mia tonight, "right now i'm just going to take you home."
"Oh" Mia threw her arms back, "the doc is going to ground me again."
Derek arrived quickly at Meredith's house and Meredith turning on the lights came out of the front door and screwed up her face as she heard loud laughter in the car, "what on earth?"
Derek opened the car door and put Mia's arm around his shoulders as he helped the groggy Mia up to Meredith's front door, "she's completely hammered she called me and told me she had something strange to drink."
"Hey doc" Mia said grinning as her hand brushed Meredith's cheek, "my saviour sent straight from heaven."
"Sweetheart" Meredith said gently as she helped Derek steer Mia to the guest room, "its time to go to bed."
"Okay" Mia said as Meredith helped Mia take off her shoes, "time for beddy bies."
"That's it" Meredith helped Mia onto the bed and onto her side, "lie down that's it i'll get you a bucket."
"Can you read me a bedtime story?"
"No dear its very late" Meredith took the bucket from Derek's hands, "go to sleep."
"Night night" Mia chuckled and pretended to snore while Meredith closed the door and walked out with Derek, "well I always knew this day would come" Derek said, "I just never it would be so soon and it would be someone other than Ally."
"Do you think she was drugged?"
"I think so" Derek said as he thought back to what he had seen, "and she had a few girls videotaping her I reckon they might have the been the ones who had drugged her."
"It was probably the girl Mia threw in the trash when she first started school looking for revenge" Meredith drew her arms around Derek and hugged him tightly before kissing his cheek, "thank you."
"Its ok" Derek said softly, "I better get home, i'll see you tomorrow."
Meredith nodded and kissed Derek before Derek smiled and walked away, Meredith shut the door and wandered back upstairs to bed. A few hours later she felt hands shaking her and she opened her eyes to find her little boy staring in the dark, "mommy Mia's sick again."
Meredith heard the sound of vomiting and she nodded, "okay i'll go take care of her can you go back to bed."
"Can I help?"
"If you can make a glass of water."
"Okay" Noah darted downstairs while Meredith slowly followed and opened the door to find Mia vomiting into a bucket, Meredith gently held her hair and rubbed Mia's back, "there you go, there you go."
"I'm such an idiot."
"Mia you rang Derek when you first felt sick that was really smart, a lot of kids your age wouldn't have done that you are anything but an idiot."
"Those bitches spiked my drink and I fucking drank it."
"Sweetheart."

"Okay" Meredith said with a small smile as Noah came back, "thanks Noah here sweetheart drink this."
"Yeah cheers" Mia said as she took the drink.
"Slow sips."

"Its ok Noah when girls Mia's age drink bad stuff they get grumpy but they feel fine the next morning."
"Oh bite me" Mia muttered, "no dude don't bite me." Noah grinned as Meredith chuckled and even Mia smirked, "thanks doc thanks little dude."
"Ok, do you want to take a shower while I clean up."
"Sure" Mia said as she crawled out of bed, "I swear i'm going to sock Holly in the mouth for this."
"No you will not because remember we have C-O-U-R-T coming up."
