Welcome to another Owl House fanfic this one being more horror based, been watching a lot of zombie stuff recently, still trying to figure out how to make them work in this story so this will mostly be a small chapter. Enjoy! Also reviews are greatly appreciated.
Luz Noceda was on the brink of tears as she was pulled out from the makeshift portal Eda had made for her it wasn't the same as the original but it worked for a bit as she was yanked out of it as she landed on the ground just as the still open door started leaking from the inside as it started to destroy its self from the inside as a large shockwave blasted throughout the isles sending Luz smack into the owl house's walls. "Kid!"
Eda yelled as the owl lady then ran up to her apprentice and carried her inside and placed Luz inside her sleeping bag while lifting her head. "King watch over her head, there has to be a healing patch in the bathroom." He simply nodded while Eda then opened the cabinet to find it empty minus a few cloths which she used to wrap around Luz's head. "Great another market trip it is then, come on your going too, Hooty will take care of her."
"You believe that?" King asked her "Not like we have a choice." She told the demon as they walked out of the house while trying to ignore the door demon's annoying voice as it echoed through the house.
They soon came back out of breath as they slammed the door shut. "What was that ten guards? A new record there." Eda told King who was breathing heavily "Yeah still can't we just..." "If you think I was going to spend a single snail for that many boxes your barking up the wrong tree."
"For the..." King eventually gave up and simply sat on the couch while Eda went and began walking upstairs. "To gently... who reads stuff on these boxes anyway?" She thought as she pulled out a few healing patches and gently placed them on Luz's head before simply placing a bowl of stew near her when she would wake up as the sound of a loud explosion from the town square followed by smoke and flames. "Well thank titan your here and not..." Soon the sound of king's squeals caused her to groan as she checked on him. "What now?" "The ball is broken."
He told her as nothing but static came out of it. "Please all you have to do is just shake it up a bit and you'll get your soap opera back." Eda told him as she shook it up and down but to no avail other than a few news stories about the emperor's coven and looting which quickly caught the witch's interest. "Oh yeah, nothing says free than a bit of chaos."
King yawned a bit. "You go I'll just wait for..." "The bridesmaid never loved the groom and was with the best man the whole time!" Eda shouted before running out of the house before King could process the massive spoiler he just heard as he then went for a quick nap which turned into a long sleep period.
Day...
Luz woke up with a massive headache as she held her nose shut to see a spoiled bowl of stew next to her with a note that read Get well written in Eda's handwriting. She then got up and walked to the kitchen as she simply ate a small beastly salad after a brief fight with it and a juice box of apple blood which she drank while searching the house but found no sign of her mentor except for King who was still sleeping.
"King!" "AH!" He then rolled off the couch before quickly hugging her. "Oh, titan your alright!"
"Where's Eda?" Luz asked him as he slowly started to remember "Free spree about..." King then shook the crystal ball but nothing except static came out of it before it cracked and shattered. "Hooty!"
Luz then simply opened the door to let him inside as he simply had a dead stare. "Uh.. you alright?" "Fine totally fine just watching over you nonstop as Eda said!" "And how long was that?" She asked worried as Hooty yawned a bit "Lost count after..."
Soon the demon then closed its eyes and started snoring "There, there you deserve a break." Luz then placed a sleeping cap on him before going back inside the house.
"King what if she's in trouble?!" "Please nothing stands between her. and free stuff" He assured her.
"Well, we're going to find her. "Eh?" Luz then picked him up and placed him in one of Eda's sacks, stuffing her pockets with every glyph she had, along with extra paper and a pencil before putting on her cloak and placing a few snacks in her mouth before heading out of the house and into the town which became much easier to find as it smelled of smoke and ash.
"Can't tell if it looks nicer or not." "Let's just find her and go back to napping," King said as his eyes slowly opened and closed as Luz was getting annoyed by it. "You can nap in there while I have to do everything."
Luz told King as the more she walked around the more empty and disturbing it looked from the broken windows, flaming buildings, and crumbled statute. "Maybe she's back home already?" King said his fur standing straight like a scarred cat. "Aw King of demons is scared?" Luz asked sarcastically as a familiar hoot caught her ears. "Owlbert!"
Luz followed the noise and sure enough, she found the little palisman with several cracks on it inside a small cage with the key inside the lock dangling from a post. "It's alright little buddy I'll get you down." Luz then climbed the post before opening the cage as the little owl landed on her shoulder while Luz then placed small bandages on it. "Now where's Eda?" The owl then shook a bit. "Hey what's wrong?" Owlbert simply flew at a tavern window as Luz tried to open the doors but to no avail as she instead crouched and crawled underneath the doors as Owlbert started to peck at her face.
"Hey stop what's gotten into you?" "Luz." "What King?" King got Luz to turn around to see the reason the door was jammed was by a very familiar wooden staff. "Eda's staff..." Luz then pulled it out and found the place was turned over with several bottles of wine and apple blood on the floor.
"She always had a taste for it." "EDA!" Luz shouted loudly as the sound of banging came from the back with a Do not open sign on the door which Luz ignored opening it as something or in this case someone fell at the edge of the sidebar.
"Eda oh your alright." Nothing came out of her. "OK, you probably not in the right state we should put you in an AA or something, King help me." King simply took a sniff. "And take a bath when we get back."
Luz's hand barely touched Eda as Owlbert then started hooting and flapping his wings. "Eda tell Owlbert to calm down he's starting to... scare..." Luz stopped as she took a look at her mentor. The 30 something witch's eyes were bloodshot red, torn clothes with scratches and bite marks on her arms and legs, and her torso slightly torn open with entrails leaking from it, not to mention her sharp teeth looked longer than they usually were.
"No... wake up Luz this is just a... AHH!" Soon the witch lunged at the human as Luz fought back with the staff as Eda snarled and growled at her before diving her teeth into the owl palisman as it started screeching.
"NO!" Luz then quickly pushed Eda away before driving the staff into her chest as the witch was still snarling and slowly walked towards Luz who kicked her as the staff was covered in blood and guts before starting at her. "I'm sorry..." She told Eda with tears in her eyes before smacking her in the head as Eda fell while Luz swung at her for a whole minute till there was nothing left but blood, brain matter, and a bit of grey hair as Luz then dropped to her knees and screamed as a flood of tears came out.
The first chapter is done, and don't blame me, wanted to have an emotional start to this.
