Ally looked through the library dvds trying to find the one she was looking for she glanced back at her dad who was looking through books of his own then she asked the librarian for the specific dvd she wanted and glanced at her daddy who was still looking through books in the distance as she remembered the first step of her aunty Amelia's plan to get her daddy to ask Meredith to marry him. Rent 101 Dalmatians and make sure your daddy watches the couple fall in love and get married and so he won't be suspicious say how funny the puppies are.
"Daddy" Ally said as she ran over to Derek who put a hand down to stop her from running into the bookshelves, "Ally remember this is a library we don't run and we need to be quiet."
"Sorry look what I found."
"101 Dalmatians" Derek picked it up, "have we seen this movie?"
"Nope my friends told me the puppies are funny."
"Yeah ok well this looks like a good movie we'll watch it tonight, you want to find a good book for us to borrow?"
"Okay" Ally said as she walked away to find a book she looked back at her dad and grinned a wicked grin to herself, "soon daddy soon."
Meanwhile Noah was looking in the front mirror of Cristina's van as he thought through his first step of Amelia's plan he and Ally had disclosed to Cristina what the plan was after he and Ally had made Cristina promise not to tell their parents and Cristina was very happy to help. Cristina saw Noah staring into the rearview mirror and she gave him a friendly look, "okay Noah you remember the plan."
"Thank you for helping me with the card."
"It was my pleasure i'm very happy to help."
Noah nodded as he remembered what Amelia said to him, write your mom a romantic card and say it was from Derek but make sure Cristina helps you write it and when your mom says awww say your going to barf so your mom won't be suspicious
"Mom" Noah said as he put his bag on the hook and started to unpack it as per his usual routine.
"Hi dear" Meredith said coming in carrying a glass of water for her son, "how was school."
"It was good" Noah said as he took the water, "oh um Derek asked me to give you this card that he made."
"Oh that's nice of him" Meredith opened the card and read aloud keep wearing that beautiful smile and have a beautiful day "well that is very thoughtful."
Noah looked back at Cristina who made a puking motion with her fingers in her mouth and Noah quickly turned around "mom i'm going to barf."
Meredith chuckled her little boy never ceased to amuse her, "when you grow up and meet a nice girl i'll hope you'll be writing her these nice notes to."
"No I won't" Noah muttered as Meredith turned around, Noah turned Cristina gave him a thumbs up and Noah breathed a sigh of relief as he wandered to the television.
The next Saturday morning Ally had stayed over for a sleepover and after she and Noah had asked Derek to come to the house early without telling Meredith to make Meredith a suprise breakfast Noah and Ally were in Meredith's kitchen watching Derek flipping pancakes. Derek flipped one in the air and back onto the pan as he turned to the kids, "you think your mom is going to like all this food."
"She will" Noah replied.
"I'll go wake Meredith up" Ally said as she made her way to the stairs as she thought to herself the second step of Amelia's evil plan get daddy to make Meredith a nice breakfast make her feel loved and when she loves the breakfast and tells him how much she loves it, he'll want to start doing it more and more Ally grinned as she looked through the crack of the bedroom door at Meredith sleeping in her bed, and then Meredith you will be like a fish on a hook and you will say yes when daddy asks you to marry him.
Meredith felt something shaking her and she turned around and wearily opening her eyes saw Ally standing front of her shaking the quilt with her hands, "what is it Ally?"
"There's a big surprise downstairs."
Meredith gave the girl a frown, "you haven't been making a mess have you?"
Ally grinned innocently, "who me?"
"Ally don't be cheeky did you make a mess?"
"No silly we made a surprise for you, a nice surprise."
"Can you show me in the morning?"
"It is morning silly."
"Ally it's to early" Meredith rolled on to her other side, "go back to bed honey."
Ally grumbled and crawled onto the bed and onto Meredith, "come on lazy bones."
"Lazy bones is sleeping" Meredith replied "and will see the surprise later."
"Meredith" Ally blew in Meredith's ear.
"Ally" Meredith's eyes crept open, "it's cold and your wearing a shirt with no sleeves and you have no socks on, you should be in your sleeping bag where its warm."
Ally lifted up the covers to crawl underneath and cuddle up to Meredith. Meredith smiled and gently stroked Ally's hair as she reclosed her eyes until she started giggling as she felt Ally's tiny fingers reaching underneath her shirt to tickle her stomach. "Ally" she peeled up the quilt and Ally smiled at her in the dark, "come on Meredith the surprise."
"You have a surprise for me" Meredith smirked, "well I just remembered that I have a surprise for you to."
"My surprise first please" Ally said as she crawled out from under the covers.
"No you'll like my surprise more" Meredith sat up and lifted Ally onto her lap, "my surprise is a story about a monster."
"A monster?"
"Yes a monster who comes from a nearby planet and it comes to bring joy to all the little boys and girls. It comes to make them laugh do you know what the monster is called?"
"No, what is the monster called?"
"It's called the tickle monster and it wants to meet you right now" Ally snorted and started to laugh as Meredith's hands tickled her squirming body, "tickle monster tickles Ally's neck, her armpits her knees" Meredith's hands reached down and Ally let out a loud squeal and kicked her legs in the air as Meredith giggled, "and her very ticklish little feet."
Ally wriggled around laughing as Meredith grinned, "so look out for the tickle monster Ally it attacks when its sees little girl's bellies." Ally laughed as Meredith's index finger tickled her bellybutton before she leaned back on the bed with Ally resting on her stomach in a fit of giggles she watched Ally giggling and gasping as she kissed the girl's forehead and gently patted her stomach with the palm of her hand before Ally stopped gasping and quickly turned around, "tickle fight." Meredith chuckled as Ally's fingers tickled her neck before she sat up and wrapped an arm around the back of Ally's legs, "this weeks specials at the fruit market...raspberries." Ally giggled as Meredith lifted Ally up with her arm lifted Ally's shirt up with the other hand and brought her mouth to Ally's bellybutton blowing loud ticklish farts as Ally laughed her head off before she let up and lowered a panting Ally back onto the bed, "is that all you got" Ally said grinning.
"Okay let's see how you handle the game of this little piggy" Meredith took a hold of Ally's little toes, "this little piggy went to market" Ally giggled wildly and pumped her legs as Meredith smiled and waited for Ally's legs to stop kicking before she took another toe, "and this little piggy stayed home and then this little piggy."
"Help" Ally called out with a smile, "tickle monster is tickling my little piggies."
"Charge" and Meredith saw a small figure running into the bedroom, flying on to the bed and onto her back "what do we have here a little boy for the tickle monster to tickle."
"Leave Ally alone tickle monster" Noah said as he climbed on to Meredith's shoulders.
"You want the tickle monster to tickle you instead" one of Meredith's hands turned around tickled Noah's sides and Noah laughed as he let go of Meredith and flopped onto the bed as Meredith's hands made munching motions in the air as they edged closer and closer to Noah's belly, "tickle monster likes to have fun, tickle monster likes to tickle her son."
Noah laughed loudly as Meredith's fingers lifted Noah's shirt up and skated up and down Noah's bare torso before she stopped and let Noah catch his breath before making a comical snarl as Noah giggled before tickling Noah's belly again then Ally leaped on her back, "ah tickle monster hasn't forgotten you Ally" Meredith said as she reached around to tickle Ally again.
"We can beat the tickle monster together" Ally said.
"Oh we'll see kids" Meredith replied.
A few minutes later after a nonstop tickle war Meredith was squealing loudly feeling sweat building on her forehead as she felt an unbearable combination of Noah sitting on her ankles tickling her feet while Ally was on her back tickling her neck, "ok ok" Meredith cried out, "you win you win I surrender."
"We won" Ally said smiling as she cheered.
"We beat the tickle monster" Noah said joining in as Meredith gasped and caught her breath, "wow the tickle monster is really sweaty."
"Tickle monster needs a shower" Meredith said putting her hand through her sweaty forehead, "and you two need a bath."
"Wait" Ally said as she jumped to the carpet, "the surprise."
"Oh yeah what is the surprise."
"Come downstairs" Noah said as she pulled Meredith's hand before Meredith swept Noah up in her arms as she walked downstairs and saw what Derek had been making, "Derek this looks wonderful."
Derek beamed with pride as he looked at the children, "you kids had a hard time getting Meredith out of bed."
"Sorry we were late coming down honey we were having a big tickle war i'm surprised you didn't hear it."
"And we beat the tickle monster" Noah said.
"Well the tickle monster one day will have its revenge" Noah giggled as Meredith grinned before she sat down and looked at bacon, eggs, sausages, tomatoes baked beans, toast fresh fruit all the things that she loved to eat for breakfast, "this is wonderful dear."
"All your favourites" Derek said.
"Do you like it Meredith" Ally said with a tiny smirk.
"I love it but there's to much for me to eat so we all should be eating it."
After their breakfast Ally lead Noah into another room she turned back to see that Meredith and Derek were still chatting and laughing at the table before she smiled at Noah, "that was good."
"They're playing into our hands" Noah added.
"Soon they'll be married and you'll have a daddy, my daddy."
"Kids" Cristina said as she knocked on the open door.
"Cristina" Ally said, "are they still eating?"
"They're eating and laughing" Cristina responded, "they don't suspect a thing I have your aunt Amelia on the phone." Ally quickly took the phone from Cristina and said hello.
Hey you two Amelia said, hows the plan going
"Perfect" Ally replied with a sinister smile, "the lovebirds don't suspect a thing."
Very good now comes me and Cristina's part
"You know what to do don't you Cristina" Cristina nodded at Noah, "Noah i'll have your mom in the palm of my hand."
"Wow your hands must be really big."
Its just a expression Noah it means Cristina will have your mom doing what we want and I will have your dad Ally in the palm of my hand soon before you two know it he'll be asking Meredith to marry him
Noah looked very excited, "and i'll get a dad."
Yes and you'll also get a sister
"A sister" Ally said feeling confused, "who?"

"Me" Ally said pointing a finger at herself.
Yeah when single parents get married their kids become brother and sister
"Oh" Ally muttered.
Its a good thing Ally
Ally turned to Noah with sad eyes, "but we won't be best friends any more."
"Why not" Noah asked.
"Because brothers and sisters, they fight all the time."
"They do?"
"Yeah" Ally said, "i've seen my cousins fight a lot with their brothers and sisters."
Noah thought to himself for a moment before he said, "what if we promise not to fight."
"If we become brother and sister" Ally said, "what do you think Amelia."
Kids everyone fights sometimes the important thing is that you make up after the fighting and I am sure you both will do that don't worry
"Then we promise if we become brother and sister we will still be nice to each other and be best friends and if we fight we will make up afterwards deal" Noah extended his hand and Ally laughing shook Noah's hand, "deal."
A few nights later Derek was making dinner when his phone rang and after he saw who it was checked to see that Ally was watching the television before he answered, "hey Amelia."
Hey big bro how you been?
"Yeah pretty good how about you?"
Oh its been wild in New York, everyone is getting ready for Christmas early down here even though its like two months away
"The family hasn't changed one bit then."
Not one bit but anyway how are things with you and how are things going with Meredith?
"Yeah they're great" Derek replied as he sat down on a stool by the kitchen bench, "you know they're going really great."
Well since they are going so great I am sure you can answer my next question, what is the future looking like for you two?
"Well the future is spending Christmas with you in New York."
Yeah as much as I am looking forward to watching you doing the same boring old joke where you pretend to trip while carrying the food to the table I want to hear about your future long term with doctor Meredith. From what i hear Ally adores her and you sound like your smitten so what do you think will happen for you two
"Well" Derek said, "you know we haven't known each other or dated for very long but I just get this feeling that my future is with her she's amazing, perfect maybe she's to perfect for me. I still feel she's way out of my league."
Derek don't be critical of yourself you know your a great guy and after what happened with Addison you deserve a bit of happiness
"Yeah I guess."
There is no I guess you do and you know what I have a hunch that if you bought her a ring and got down on one knee she would say yes
"Amelia you don't know Meredith you've never even met her."
That's why I said it was a hunch dummy, but if I met her...
"I I" Derek stammered as he started to feel hot under the collar thinking about it, "I don't know I think its still to soon and I don't have the money to buy her a ring."
You still have your grandmother's wedding ring the one she passed on to our mother and then mom passed it on to you
"I" Derek remembered he had been given that ring because he had said to his mother that he was going to propose to Addison just before Addison ended things with them and he had forgotten to give it back, "yeah I guess."
Just have a think about it and if you want to wait longer that's fine but you want to get married so why let a little thing like time spent in a relationship stand in the way, I mean you see people on tv getting married when they first meet each other
"When did you get to be so wise?"
From doing stupid things when I was younger it helps you learn, anyway could I say hello to my niece

"Coming daddy" called Ally as she came running into the kitchen to take the phone before she walked away, "Ally reporting in."

"Ok" Ally said with a grin, "got ya."

"Bye" Ally said as she turned off the phone and came skipping into the kitchen, "okay daddy its bed time."
"Ally" Derek said as he looked at the clock, "its still half an hour before your bedtime, you don't look very tired."
"I need my sleep" Ally said as Derek raised an eyebrow Ally made a yawn and Derek clicked his tongue, "ok get dressed in your pjs and i'll be up to tuck you in and read you a story."
Ally went to her room and looked at a picture of herself, Noah, Meredith and her daddy by a wharf, "what will Meredith look like in a wedding dress I wonder, hmmm pretty I bet."
"Hey Ally" Derek came in carrying several books, "right ally cat what should we read."
"Sing the funny song instead."
"The funny song hmmm okay if I could make... the perfect day for you. I would take all the children and... put them in the zoo." Ally laughed as Derek continued "I would make pancakes and put them on a cart and eat them all and unleash a big" Derek made a farting noise with his mouth and Ally chuckled as Derek grinned back and kissed Ally's cheek, "goodnight sweetheart."
"Daddy."
"Yeah?"
"I wish we were all one big family, Noah, Meredith and me and you."
"Me to" Derek said in a soft voice as he smiled a bit and rubbed Ally's hair before kissing her cheek, "goodnight."
Ally watched her dad wander out and looked at the picture of the four of them together "I am going to repay my debt to daddy and Noah will get a daddy and i'll get a brother and Meredith will get a husband this is going to be good."
Cristina was washing benches in the kitchen when the door opened and Meredith came in humming a tune she smirked, "your in a cheerful mood."
"Well what reason do I not have to be cheerful."
"I can think of one tall dark and handsome reason why your so cheerful."
"Am I that easy to read?"
"Honey" Cristina gave Meredith a hug, "i'm so glad its working out between you."
"I know" Meredith replied, "it almost feels like a dream i'm afraid i'm going to wake up."
"I don't think there is any danger of that."
"It still feels strange after everything that has happened to me that everything is going so well."
"Meredith you've caught some rough breaks, falling out with your mother, your husband cheating on you with your best friend and then... the accident."
Meredith nodded as she remembered the day where her daughter Amber, her best friend Marie and her husband Scott went driving to the mountains and then a accident took all of their lives, it was only after the accident Meredith had learned Marie and Scott were having an affair behind her back but no matter how much that had hurt it was nothing compared to losing her little girl Amber, she had never experienced anything as painful before or since.
"But now" Cristina continued, "you've been given a second chance at happiness with Noah with Ally and with Derek."
"Do people get second chances at happiness?"
"You never know but you gave Mia a second chance at happiness and I think you have a second chance to have a husband who will be loyal, faithful and loving for the rest of your life."
"You really can see me and Derek becoming husband and wife?"
"Even if I was blind I still could see it."
Meredith smiled feeling overwhelming feelings inside of her Derek made her feel like everything was right in the world that life every day was really worth living, Derek might not have said it but she felt he was saying it through his actions, she felt loved by him. "I think I found my second chance at happiness I just feel that he is sometimes intidimidated by our social classes. I wish he wasn't I don't care that we come from two different classes but I still feel Derek does and until he stops caring he'll remain 99% committed and not 100 percent until he realises that I want him for the man he is."
"I'm sure part of him is fighting that thought in his head and that it will win in the end."
Meredith sat down and ran a fork through the dinner Cristina had made, "I'm sure it will."
A week and a half passed Ally had given Derek a picture that Meredith had framed of the four of them together and it was then Derek had made up his mind. Derek was walking up to Meredith's house and breathed heavily as he felt the ring that he had once intended to give to Addison deep inside his pocket, "okay right one more time Meredith I never felt I could be so lucky as to... oh man that sounded so good to my reflection it sounds rubbish now. Ok Derek you can do this come on Derek, okay here we go."
Derek opened the door and Meredith came round wearing a dress and looking breathtaking at least that's how Derek felt he had to struggle to catch his breath in his throat and couldn't speak until Meredith came over and gave him a kiss, "hi honey."
"You look beautiful."
"Your looking pretty handsome yourself."
"The um, ah are the kids having fun?"
"They're just watching tv" Meredith said than there was a loud noise and the children ran past wearing capes shouting the names of superheroes as Meredith smiled, "or they were now they're going off to save the world."
"That dinner looks lovely" Derek said as he spotted the pasta dish on the counter.
"After the nice breakfast you made me the other day I thought it was only fair I return the favor."
Derek ran a fork through the dish as Meredith took another spoonful, "so we've been going out for a while."
"Yeah it has been a while."
"And ah i've had a really great time."
Meredith stopped eating, "what are you saying?"
"Nothing bad nothing at all" Derek said quickly as he saw the fear on Meredith's face, "i'm saying its really really good and your really good I mean ah not like in a sexual way I mean you are very sexy I mean I don't mean it like that ah."
"Derek are you ok."
"I just well... your very nice."
"Well thank you" Meredith chuckled, "that card you sent me the other day was also very nice."
"What card?"
"You know" Meredith said feeling suspicious, "the card that you gave to Noah to give to me."
"I" Derek said as his nerves stopped.
"The card wasn't from you?"
"No and i'm guessing you didn't give Ally a framed picture of us all together to give to me."
"I don't recall doing that no" Meredith thought to herself and after putting two and two together she smirked, "you know what I get the feeling we have been set up."
"Yeah" Derek looked at the top of the stairs at the kids who had spent the last ten minutes spying on the two of them from above, "and I think I know who by."
Ally's eyes grew wide, "busted" she whispered to Noah.
"Come down here you two" Meredith said as she smiled and stood up, "we need to talk to you."
"We" Ally yawned, "we are tired its time for bed."
"Kids" Derek grumbled as his mobile phone rang, "that's my phone i'll answer it" Derek turned to walk out of the room, "Ally you and I are going to have a nice long talk in a minute."
"Right munchkins" Meredith got up from her stool, "come down here."
"But Its bed time" Noah said.
"Well before bed time comes there needs to be a you tell me what's going on time."
"We can't" Ally shook her head.
"Ok then" Meredith picked up her phone, "I guess i'm going to have to call my good friend the tickle monster to come round and tickle you until you tell me what's going on."
"Aren't you the tickle monster" Ally said.
"Why yes I am Ally" Meredith smiled widely as she put down the phone, "now I remember."
"Ahhh" Noah screamed.
"Run hide hide" Ally said as she and Noah darted into Meredith's bedroom.
"Okay" Meredith chuckled, "here comes tickle monster she's coming up the stairs."
Derek could not remember feeling so embarrassed he looked at his ringing mobile and answered it to find his sister on the phone, hey Derek hows it going?
"You tell me Amelia i've just caught Ally and her accomplaise Noah playing funny games with me and Meredith."
Right what kind of games?
"I think you know what kind of games."
Me whatever do you mean
"You've been speaking to Ally a lot recently and Ally's not that scuttle to play matchmaker without telling me all about it, you've been coaching her to play matchmaker haven't you."
Well can't an aunt talk to her niece and have a nice relationship when she lives so far away from me and teach her new things
Derek grumbled and sat down, meanwhile Meredith was slowly making her way up the stairs, "okay here comes the tickle monster" Meredith opened the door to her bedroom, "the tickle monster has entered the room and will tickle the children very very soon."
Meredith walked around slowly and hearing soft giggles turned to opened the closet as the kids screamed and ran out, "found you."
"Its the tickle monster" Noah said as he pointed his finger at his mom.
"Run whoa" Ally said as Meredith picked her up and lied her on the carpet.
"Ally ahhhh" Meredith picked Noah up and lied him next to Ally and loomed over the children than her fingers started to dance in the air and the children started to giggle as Meredith smiled, "you want to talk?"
"Talk?" Ally said.
"You want to tell me why you gave me a card Noah and pretended it was from Derek and why you Ally gave your daddy a picture and pretended it was from me?"
The kids shook their heads grinning.
"Than the tickle monster as a special treat will tickle your bellies and your little bare feet."
The kids laughed as Meredith's fingers started to tickle their stomachs her fingers reached under their shirts and the kids laughed louder Meredith leaned over and pressed her mouth to Noah's stomach blowing loud farts Noah giggled widley as Meredith lifted Ally's shirt, "your turn miss Ally" Ally howled with laughter and Meredith smiled, "have you had enough."
"We can take it" Noah said with a big smile.
"Well then" Meredith's fingers gently took hold of little toes, "these little piggies went to market and these little piggies stayed home" the kids giggled like mad and wriggled, "these little piggies had roast beef these little piggies had none and these little piggies went wee wee wee all the way home" Meredith's fingers tickled the kids soles and knees as the children laughed widely than she stopped as the phone rang downstairs she turned around stopping the tickling and gasped as Noah jumped on her back and tickled her neck "Noah" Ally leaped on her stomach and lifted up her shirt yo tickle Meredith's stomach, "kids" Meredith gasped as she laughed.
"You talk tell us stuff" Ally said as she grinned.
Meredith lifted Ally up and giggled as Noah continued to tickle her neck Meredith put Ally down and picked up Noah and giggled as she felt Ally starting to tickle her feet, "ahahahahhaha you" Meredith picked Ally up and put her down she did the same with Noah and leaned over the giggling children, "now for the necks."
Ally and Noah rolled on the floor and laughed until they were gasping Meredith stopped the torment of tickling and smiled, "and they still don't want to talk."
"Nope" the kids said together with smiles.
"Wow you two are very strong, the tickle monster couldn't break you."
"Nothing will make us tell the secret."
"This secret Noah if you told me would something bad happen."
"Um yeah."
"Kids if you've done something naughty than you need to tell me."
Noah looked unsure, "I don't know."
"You don't know if you've done anything naughty."
"We got you and Derek" Noah started.
"Noah shhhh" Ally put her finger to her lips.
"You got me and Derek" Meredith sat on the carpet and the kids crawled into her lap, "Noah Ally did you two play those tricks on us to get me and Derek to fall in love."
"No no" Ally said quickly shaking her head, "we um just wanted you and daddy to be nice to each other all the time."
"Honey its alright, i'm guessing this was your idea."
"Don't be mad at Ally" Noah piped up, "it was my idea."
"Don't be mad at Noah" Ally chipped in, "I told him to do it."
"Don't be worried" Meredith hands patted the children's backs, "neither one of you is in trouble i'm not mad at either of you. I think you did this so me and your daddy could get married."
"Yeah" Ally said softly.
"Will you not get married now" Noah whispered.
"Both of you want us to get married?"
"Yeah" the kids said together.
"Well kids I can't promise that me and Derek will ever get married."
"You won't" Noah said softly looking very sad Meredith kissed his cheek. "We may get married and we may not but whatever happens we will still be friends I promise you and we'll hang out together and both of us will still be here to play with you, take care of you and love you as much as we both do always."
"But Noah won't get a daddy" Ally whispered.
"Is that why you want me and Derek to get married?"
"Yes" Noah nodded, "I want a daddy and Derek is the best daddy ever."
"Honey whether or not Derek becomes your daddy i'll make sure he is always around and remains a part of your life."
"It won't be the same."
"It might not feel like the same but you'll see it will still be good if that ever happens. For now we're still together and do you think things are good the way they are now."
"They're good" Ally said, "but you and Derek should get married you would be happier."
"I'm already happy" Meredith said as she kissed Ally's forehead, "because I have you two troopers in my life."
"But-"
"You know Ally, there are bad things about grownups getting married."
"Like what?"
"Well Noah Derek and I would be arguing a lot about silly things such as making food and cleaning toilets and painting the house."
"You already do that" Ally said with a grin.
"Well we would do it more if we were married."
"That's okay" Noah shrugged.
"You two would be brother and sister and you would do a lot of arguing yourselves."
"We made a deal" Ally said.
"A deal?"
"To be friends" Noah added.
"Well" Meredith said as she tried to think as Noah grinned, "there's nothing bad about grownups getting married mommy."
Meredith let out a sigh and smiled, "will you two little monkeys hop off to bed."
Ally and Noah giggled as they got to their feet before making monkey noises and dancing up and down with their fingers on their armpits pretending to be monkeys as they went to Noah's bedroom. Meredith chuckled as Derek came walking up the stairs, "so the little ones confessed."
"To trying to get us married, oh yeah let me guess it was Ally that lead the charge."
"Not just Ally Noah was wanting you to be his dad."
"Oh I should have known" Derek said softly, "Noah and Ally asked me to be Noah's dad the other day and they had my sister teaching them, Amelia the evil genius in our family."
"I'm looking forward to meeting her" Meredith sat up and walked over to kiss Derek who pulled away, "honey are you ok."
"Yeah I just sorry I just need some time to myself."
"Derek" Meredith said softly as Derek walked down the stairs, "i'm okay with this really."
"I still need room to breath" Derek looked up, "i'll call you tomorrow."
Meredith watched Derek leave and after sighing went to tuck the children in.
The next day Derek was busy digging in the hospital garden when a cough caused him to turn around and Meredith was standing there, "I was waiting for you to call."
"Sorry just..."
"Honey its ok."
"Well its a bit" Derek said as he sat on a stump, "everyone was plotting to convince me to propose to you, right now I feel so strange like i've been watched under a microscope."
"We could just treat this as a game which the kids played which it was and move on to be back to the way things were."
Derek nodded looking relieved as Meredith sat down next to him, "that would be great." Meredith smiled as Derek moved to kiss him until his phone rang, "oh hang on its the school... hello."
Mr Shepherd
"Yeah this is Mr Shepherd has Ally fallen off the monkey bars again I can come and get her."
Its something more serious
Derek felt cold dread on his heart, "what's happened?"
Mr Shepherd a man and a woman claming to be Ally's father and mother was just at the school they were wanting to see Ally they are not listed on our records but they kept insisting they were Ally's biological parents and they were wanting to see her
"Really?"
And there was a woman and a man named Courtney and Steven claiming to be her aunt and uncle who were with them as well. I told all of them they needed to leave or the police would be contacted and they left saying they were going to get a lawyer
"Ok" Derek looked at Meredith who was looking at Derek with wide eyes, "i'm going to come and pick up Ally."
We will we'll have Ally ready
Derek closed the phone and took a deep breath as Meredith's hand gripped his, "Derek Ally's parents are dead Mia told me they died four years ago."
"Yeah and that's what Ally's grandma said to me to back when she was alive. I don't know what is going on but i'm going to get my daughter right now before these people whoever they are come back right now Ally's safety is all i'm worried about."
