Seth sat down with his dinner and watched every other crew member in the room. Mainly he watched Dean and how he reacted around everyone else. He listened to what people were talking about. There was no mention of two aliens locked up in the secured room. Dean was keeping quiet.

"Where's Kenzie?" Roman asked.
"Taking a nap," Dean answered.

Seth sneered at that answer. Dean was lying to his best friend so that had to mean that no one else was supposed to know about what was going on. At least not yet. Dean looked over at Seth and gave him a look that said all that needed to be said. Seth nodded at Dean to pretend that he agreed with not speaking a word about what had happened. Seth would keep quiet. Right now it was for the best that no one knew. If he started running his mouth and upsetting Dean, there was no telling if any of them would make it back to earth alive. Dean was a loose cannon that never should have been allowed to hold this much power.

"Are you okay?" Kevin asked.
"Huh?" Seth looked at Kevin sitting next to him.
"You haven't said a word," Kevin said. "I know you're not the most chatty person but you usually greet me and ask if I wanna play cards later or something."
"Sorry, I have a headache," Seth lied. "I think I'm gonna go lie down for a while."
"Kenzie seems to be lying down as well. Maybe there's a virus going around," Kevin said.
"Maybe," Seth said.

Seth stood up and walked out of the room. Maybe this short conversation could work as some sort of alibi. If anyone asked Kevin, the answer would be Seth wasn't feeling well. Everyone would assume he would be back in his room resting up for a new day tomorrow. He walked down the long corridor and stopped at the fire equipment on the wall. He picked up the axe and walked to Dean's room.

Seth sat waiting in the darkness for nearly an hour before he heard Dean on the other side of the door. Dean was singing to himself. Something he often did. He opened the door and stepped inside the room. He hit the light switch, turned around, and then everything faded to black as Seth knocked him out with the axe handle.

"What the fuck's going on?" Dean mumbled.

Dean felt his wrist being secured. He opened his eyes in a panic and looked at Seth who had not only tied his left wrist to a pipe in the room, but he had also tied his legs together. His right arm was still free. He raised it to fight back but cried out in pain as Seth stomp down on his elbow hard.

"What the fuck, Seth?" Dean howled.

Before Dean could say anything else, he had his mouth full of what smelled like his used boxershorts that he had dropped on the floor this morning after getting out of bed. Seth grabbed Dean's jaw and stared at him.

"I have to do this. I can't let Kenzie die. What you did earlier was so wrong. Those aliens might not be like us but you had no right shooting at them the way you did. Of course they broke into our ship. You shot her baby. She was scared, Dean. Just like Kenzie is right now. She's scared of dying. I'm scared too. I'm scared of what I have to do to free her. And you're scared because you've never seen me act this way. Neither have I," Seth laughed nervously. "This is so fucked up."

Dean mumbled something that Seth couldn't understand. It would only be a matter of time before Dean would be able to work his tongue enough to finally push the boxershorts out of his mouth. Seth had to work fast. He pulled Dean's belt out of his pants and made a tourniquet around Dean's upper arm. He then picked up the axe. Dean's eyes widened in horror.

"It didn't have to be this way, Dean," Seth said. "This is your own fault."

Seth slammed the axe down full force on Dean's arm. It went halfway through, and Dean howled in pain. Seth lifted the axe again and separated the arm halfway between elbow and wrist. Dean was shaking from the pain.

"Pass out," Seth said. "It's better if you don't feel too much right now."

Seth picked up the severed hand.

"I'll come back later," Seth said.

Seth ran out of Dean's room and through the spacecraft until he reached the secured room. He looked through the glass door and sighed in relief. The alien mother was sitting with her baby in her lap. Kenzie was sitting on a chair with her head in her hands. Seth placed Dean's hand on the screen, and the door opened. Kenzie snapped her head up and looked at Seth.

"Seth?" She asked. "How...?"

He held up Dean's hand to answer the question she was about to ask. Her eyes widened and then she slowly started to nod.

"I had to," he said. "He was gonna let you die."

She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him.

"I understand," she said. "Thank you."
"I love you," he said.

He held on tight to her and kissed her. For a moment everything around them seemed far away.

"I thought having my hand chopped off and then having to gnaw my way out of the rope would be bad, and then I come here to see this," Dean said.

Seth spun around and came face to face with Dean. The next thing Seth knew was a sharp pain in his stomach. He looked down to see Dean had used his left hand to stab him with a knife.

"Next time you wanna go psycho amputator on someone, make sure you take both arms," Dean said. "Or do what I would have done. Kill them. Goodbye, Seth."

Dean twisted the knife around. Seth whimpered in pain. With a smirk on his face, Dean slowly pulled the knife out. Blood started pouring out of the open wound. Seth placed his hands over it and sank to his knees. Kenzie took a step forward but froze when Dean lifted the hand with the knife.

"Stay back, Kenzie!" Dean threatened. "Stay back and watch this little worm die."

A loud shriek sounded. Kenzie was pushed to the side with force. Something flew past her fast. Dean screamed in pain but Kenzie couldn't focus on that. She crawled to Seth and tried helping him stop the bleeding.

"Stay with me, Seth," she pleaded. "You can't die on me. You don't get to die on me, you hear me?"
"My sweetest angel Kenzie," Seth whispered. "It's okay. I got to hear you say you love me."
"I do. I love you. So you better fucking stay with me," she said.

He let out a sigh and closed his eyes.

"No! Seth!" She raised her voice. "Open your fucking eyes and look at me!"

His eyes remained closed. Tears started streaming down her face. She leaned over him and sobbed. A hand grabbed her shoulder and pushed her back. She looked up at the mother alien. No words were needed. She watched as the alien pushed Seth's hands aside, spat on her fingers, and used the saliva to close the wound. For what seemed like a long time, they just sat there and looked at Seth. He finally inhaled and opened his eyes.

"Seth!" Kenzie cried.

She leaned over him and kissed him. She sat back on her knees and he turned his head.

"Did you do that?" He asked.

She looked in the same direction as him. Dean was dead on the floor, having been sliced open by claws.

"No," she said. "She did that."

Kenzie looked at the alien, smiled, and nodded.

"You sliced him in half for me like I asked," she said. "Thank you, mama."

The alien pointed at her baby and then at Kenzie.

"I saved the most important person to you, and you saved the most important person to me. I get it. We're even now. Thank you so much," Kenzie said.
"What the hell do we do now?" Seth asked.
"We set them free," she said.
"And Dean?" He asked.

As if the mother alien understood that question, she stood up, grabbed Dean's leg, and pulled him over to the hatch. Kenzie walked over to them and opened the hatch for them. With one graceful jump, the alien mother went through the hatch with her baby and Dean's corpse. Kenzie closed the hatch again and looked at Seth. He stood up, walked over to her and placed an arm around her shoulders. They both looked at the bloody mess on the floor.

"We got one hell of a cleaning job to do. We need to clean his room too. Before anyone figures out what really happened," he said.
"Good thing we're the best cleaning crew around here," she said.
"And we already got a story when it comes to Dean. He shot an alien, the ship was attacked, and she pulled him out as revenge. Everyone heard him on the speakers saying he shot at two aliens. We got the broken hatch to prove it. And it's not hard for anyone to believe that he stupidly thought he could take on an alien and opened the second hatch," he said.

He picked up Dean's hand that he had dropped on the floor. She opened the hatch and he sent the hand flying.

"There's no proof anything else went down," he said. "He opened the hatch and she pulled him out of it. We closed the hatch after him to save our own lives. Everyone will back up the shooting. All we gotta do it move the timeframe a bit. She held on to the ship for hours before breaking down the hatch. You and I were both taking a nap. Dean said that during dinner, and Kevin will back me up. It all happened later tonight when the crew was sleeping. Dean woke you up, and you happened to find me in the hallway on my way to get some water. We all heard banging and came here."
"And it will give me good reason to finally leave this job. I watched my boyfriend die in front of my eyes," she said.
"And I was too traumatized too watching my captain die," he said. "It'll work out perfectly."

She stood up on her toes and kissed him.

"We gotta keep quiet about us for a while," she said.
"Don't worry," he smirked. "Two people grieving together once we get home. It'll come naturally that eventually we develop feelings for each other about half a year from now when we're ready to move on. After all, we were each other's comfort for so long."
"Look at you, mister Rollins. All planning and shit. I might have to start calling you the architect," she said.

He chuckled and pecked her lips.

"Okay, let's start cleaning. At least no one comes down here without permission. Still, let's move as fast as we can. As soon as it's all done, we'll call everyone together and bring the sad news. Roman will take over captain duty and get us home. We should take us about two weeks to reach earth," he said. "Game face on."

She showed her best sad face and he did the same. They both chuckled at each other.

"Perfect," he said.
"Same," she said.
"We're in this together," he said. "Dean got what he deserved. He took on an alien and lost."
"I just feel sad knowing they're gonna send out another team now that they know we found life," she said.
"She's not alone," he said. "There's more like her out there. They won't stand a chance."
"I hope not," she said. "We should never mess with life like that. It's not okay. I can't wait to be fucking done with this job and retire with you by my side."
