Every morning, when Winry came to feed him breakfast,he would describe them to her inbetween bites.
Some of them made her giggle.
A sunny smile would float across her face as he recounted scenes like him, her, and Alphonse playing by the creek.
The three of them splashing water in one another's face, simply enjoying being outside.
Then there were others that weren't so lighthearted.
Dreams that seemed to continously haunt him, eating away his peaceful slumber.
One of which he came to know quite well.
In total darkness Edward would fall,no gravity to stop him.
And just as his fear began to engulf him
It stopped
Some unkown force would gently turn him around, revealing a strange being.
The creature appeared to be a woman,or so he thought.
But somthing was off about her.
He could never clearly see her physical details, but somehow he was sure she was beautiful.
Carefully, her hands would reach out,and touch him.
Breaking through the darkness, they brought light.
And then the healing came.
The first time it happened,he fought.
He didn't want the crushing warmpth to surround him.
Or it's smoothering tenderness.
But little by little,he came to welcome it.
Winry, all the while, would sit and listin.
Knodding in the right places; And reminding him to take another bite buy placing a spoonfull of food before his mouth.
Then he would finish his meal in silence.
When Edward finally pushed back his bowl,it ment he was done.
Now it was Winry's cue to take it and washj it in the kitchen, while he dressed.
Or tried to at least.
After she left, without warning,a smile would break loose.
No matter how silly the dream sounded.
No matter how sad it was.
Winry always sat and listined.
Amd that was what he needed most.
