Lu fastened the device around Smokey's neck and it activated.

"This will teach you not to cross me" Lu said as he pushed the button on the remote. The device began to shock Smokey and he collapsed on the floor screaming in pain. Lu let it go on for a few moments before he hit the button and it stopped.

"I-I'm sorry…...I won't disobey you again, I promise" He breathed.

"You'd better not, because if you do I will have worse in store for you" Lu looked down at him with cold eyes.

"Now you'd better rest, we start testing tomorrow" Lu said.

"Y-yes sir" Smokey nodded. Lu left and Smokey turned the light off and climbed into bed. His muscles were spasming and causing him lots of pain so he found it hard to sleep. He rolled onto his back and stared at the ceiling. He really regretted trying to escape. All he managed to do was end up in pain and make Lu hate him even more than he already seemed to, he wished he had just stayed put.

"I'm so stupid" he sighed.

He hated being alone and not hearing his brothers' voices, he never thought he'd miss hearing his own voice. At Least the few Kaminoan doctors that were talking and puttering around gave him a little comfort that he wasn't completely alone. He managed to ignore the pain and go to sleep.

He was startled awake the next morning by Lu coming in there to give him breakfast before the tests began. He was nervous as he wondered what kind of tests he'd be receiving. He quickly finished his breakfast and freshened up in the refresher. He met up with Lu and was being led down the hallway, a squad of his brothers passed and he gave them a sad glance.

Perhaps he was being overdramatic, after all it hasn't even been a full rotation since he's seen his brothers but when you're with them all day everyday it's hard to be away from them. And he found himself really missing his squadmates. He hopes he gets to see them again.

"Well cadet 1733?" Lu's impatient voice scared him out of his thoughts.

"I-I'm sorry sir, what did you say?" Smokey asked timidly hoping he wouldn't be angry.

"I asked you if you are well rested" Lu repeated.

"Oh uh y-yes yes sir I slept ok" Smokey said.

They walked the rest of the way in silence. They came to a room and Lu opened the door, they went inside it appeared to be another medical room. Lu told him to lay down on the table so he did, Lu grabbed an injector.

"You're going to have a small reaction" Lu said as he stuck it in his neck. Smokey was looking up at the ceiling waiting for the reaction he spoke of. Suddenly painful convulsions ripped through his body as he began violently seizing. He noticed that Lu had a slight smile on his face almost as if he was enjoying his pain. Finally the convulsions stopped and he fell still, everything went black.

When he woke up he felt pain in his head but it was weird it didn't feel like he had a headache. He reached up and felt a bacta patch on his head.

"What happened?" He asked Lu who was puttering at the counter.

"I did a level five atomic brain scan" Lu said.

"Really? Why? I just realized you still never told me what's wrong with me, why am I dangerous?" Smokey asked.

"You have some kind of rare illness that even our most experienced doctors have never seen before" Lu lied.

"Really? An illness, but I feel fine, I don't feel sick at all" Smokey said.

"You're asymptomatic, and I can't seem to figure out what caused it, the blood tests the brain scan have revealed nothing" Lu sighed in frustration.

"That means I'm going to have to search on the genetic level, there must be something with your genetics that has caused this, maybe it's connected to the grey eyes" Lu seemed to trail off into thought.

"Let's go" Lu said and headed for the door. Smokey got up off the table and wobbled a little. He felt a little unsteady on his feet as he followed Lu. He felt a pang of sadness because he knew they were heading back to the medbay and he really didn't want to go back there.

"Lu Sir? If I have some illness then aren't you worried that I'll give it to you?" Smokey asked.

"It appears to only affect clones" Lu said.

"Really? I thought you said you didn't know anything about it" Smokey cocked his head in confusion. Lu rounded on him.

"Stop asking so many questions! I'm trying to think!" He snapped.

"I-I'm sorry sir!" he gulped. He didn't dare speak the rest of the way. They returned to the medbay and he suppressed a sigh.

"Are you alright? You look sad" he heard Tullah's voice.

"I just don't want to be in here anymore, I miss my brothers and my tight pod and the mess hall and the training grounds, I miss everything…." He fought back tears.

"Aww sweetie, don't worry you won't be in here forever Lu will figure out what's going on and you can leave the medbay" Tullah knelt down to his height.

"I won't be in here forever?" his eyes lit up.

"Of course not honey, Lu can't keep you in here forever" Tullah said.

"Now don't go filling his head with ideas" Lu said.

"I'm not filling his head with ideas, We all know this is a load of bantha droppings anyways" Tullah argued.

"Cadet 1733, go to your room apparently me and Tullah have some things to discuss" Lu said.

"Yes sir" Smokey said as he headed to his room. He sat down on the edge of his bed, honestly the room was so bland what did Lu expect him to do stare at the paint on the wall all day. He looked over and saw a cup on the table.

"I could pretend to be a Jedi and use the force to pull that cup over here" he chuckled to himself as he reached his hand out towards the cup. He tried to mimic what he's seen Shaak Ti do, the cup slid to the front of the table. He screamed and backed up until he fell off the bed. Just then Lu and Tullag came running in.

"Smokey!? Are you alright? What happened?" Tullah rushed to his side.

"T-the cup, the cup" he pointed to the cup on the table his eyes were wide in shock.

"Cadet 1733 you're not making any sense what about the cup?" Lu said.

"It moved...it actually moved" he said.

"What are you talking about? Quit messing around" Lu glared.

"I-I was pretending to be a Jedi, a-and use the force on that cup and it really moved!" Smokey was still in a state of shock. He noticed Lu exchange a look with Tullah.

"You're being ridiculous, clones can't use the force, you're probably just tired and are seeing things" Lu said.

"I'm serious, it really moved! Do you want me to do it again?" He reached his hand towards the cup.

"No!" Lu slapped his hand down. Smokey gasped; he was shocked that he had reacted so strongly.

"You must not mock the Jedi, if you offend them they might not do business with us anymore" LU said.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to mock the Jedi, I was just bored" Smokey said.

"Tullah, may I have a moment alone to speak to cadet 1733?" Lu asked. She hesitated for a moment before nodding and heading out. He waited for a minute after she left just to make sure she wasn't within earshot, when he was sure that she couldn't hear them he grabbed Smokey by his neck and his eyes widened in shock.

"Don't you ever do that again, or I will punish you severely" Lu glowered at him.

"I-I won't I promise" Smokey swallowed audibly hard. Lu let go of him and stormed out of the room. Smokey really didn't understand why he was so angry, since when have the Kaminoans cared about offending the Jedi?. Just then his door slid open and Tullah came in.

"While I was out yesterday I got something that might help your boredom" Tullah handed him a bag. He opened it and there were books inside.

"Wow thank you" Smokey smiled at her.

"You're welcome darling let me know if you need anything else" she said before leaving. He decided to read one of the books. He didn't read for long before he heard a commotion outside, he set the book down on the table and crept closer to the door and quietly opened it instead of pushing the button. He peeked out and saw Lu and Tullah talking.

"Lord Tyranus is coming tomorrow to visit the facility" Lu said.

"Yea, so?" Tullah raised a brow.

"What if he finds out about the boy? we can't have that, I have to make sure he doesn't know" Lu stressed.

"Again Lu, what is the big deal? What do you think he's going to do if he finds out kill us" Tullah said.

"He might take him away and I need him here so I can study him" Lu said.

"I highly doubt Tyranus will want to take him away, I mean he has other things to worry about" Tullah really wished he would just chill out.

"Well I can't risk it, I'm going to put him in a bacta tank tomorrow so he'll be in a deep sleep" Lu said.

"I still think you're being completely ridiculous but hey I can't stop you" she shrugged.

He closed the door so they wouldn't see him. He wondered why Lu was so worried about this Tyranus, worried enough to put him in a deep sleep. Maybe they didn't want to have to admit they didn't know what disease he has and seem incompetent. Whatever it was there was no use worrying about it so he climbed back on the bed and began reading again.
