The Marauder's Map.
Harry froze in shock. If James and Sirius check that map, his cover would be doomed. They would know his last name and then he would have to be sent back.
"Harry... are you alright? You look a bit pissed..." Remus said, eyeing him cautiously.
James, Sirius, and Peter, who were walking ahead of them, stopped and turned around too, giving Harry puzzled looks.
"Oh, erm, I forgot my Charms book under my bed, I think I'll have to run back and get it... You guys go ahead of me!" he stuttered.
Then, Harry turned around and ran.
"Zeller! Wait! You don't even know where the Common room is!" James yelled, but Harry was already gone.
The four Maruders stared, puzzled. How would Harry remember where the common room was? He had only been here for a day.
They walked to charms class, still confused about what had happened.
Meanwhile...
Harry searched in all of the marauders bags. He looked for that spare piece of parchment everywhere, desperately trying to find it. Finally, he saw it buried deep in Remus's suitcase, and he sighed in relief.
"Mutare Verbum" he muttered and quickly changed the Potter behind his name to "Switch Zeller".
He sighed in relief and ran to charms.
He burst through the class, and found himself being stared at by everyone.
"Ah, Mr. Zeller! Good to have you in my class. As you are new, I won't take points from Gryffindor for you being late, however, please do not repeat this mistake. Have a seat next to... Miss Evans" Proffessor Flitwick squeaked.
Harry nodded and sat next to Lily, still panting.
He turned and looked behind him and found James, Sirius and Remus looked at him with curiousity and suspicion.
"Well, everyone, I have placed a glass in front of you all. Practice the aguamenti spell. You may begin" Flitwick said.
As Harry pulled out his wand, he saw a hand in front of him. He turned around and saw Lily, smiling at him with her hand out.
"Hi Harry! I'm Lily Evans, I think you remember me yesterday as I yelled at Potter. Nice to meet you!" she said, grinning.
"Hi Lily, nice to meet you!" Harry replied, grinning back. He held out his hand too, and shook hers. He felt a sudden warmth around his body.
His mother. Mum.
He and Lily chatted a lot during charms, and found out they had a lot alike. Harry couldn't help but grin in happiness. His mother was amazing.
As charms ended, Lily asked,
"Harry, do you want to study together sometimes? Your a really nice guy!" She said, smiling warmly.
"Sure!" Harry replied, smiling too.
He waved to her and walked out, still happy about the fact that he had a conversation with her.
"Hey Zeller!" someone yelled.
Harry turned around, and saw James waving him over to the group.
He walked over to them and walked beside James.
"By the way Zeller... back of Lily" James said, glowering at him.
Harry stared.
"Of course, we are just friends, I don't like her!" He said taken aback.
James stared at him for a minute, then laughed.
"Good!" He said, smiling. "Anyway, come one, we have potions.
Potions went by as a breeze. Without having Snape breath down his neck all the time, he was actually enjoying the class. Although, Proffessor Slughorn was quite strange in a way.
As he and the marauders walked to DADA, Harry felt a small happiness in himself. He was being accepted by his parents, that made him feel happy.
As the entered the DADA room, the found a middle aged man standing in the center. He had grayish brown hair and a stern face and he stared, as everyone entered the class and seated themselves.
"Oi, Zeller" someone hissed.
"He turned around and saw James next to him, followed by the Maruders beside him.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"This class is with the Slytherins, they are annoying little brats" James hissed.
"So?" Harry asked.
"Just don't try and be nice to them" James whispered, a disgusted look on his face.
"Right" He replied.
They all swiftly turned and stared at the front of the class, as the teacher began pacing.
"Welcome class, my name is Callum Lanister, I am your new DADA proffessor, you may address me as Proffessor Lanister" He said curtly. "As all of you have passed DADA OWL's, I hope all of you are great students. Today, we will be focusing on the unforgiveables".
Harry flinched.
"Who can name them?" He asked, facing the class.
Harry sighed and raised his hand among the others.
"Miss Lancaster?" He asked, looking at a small girl in the back.
"Um, Imperio" She said, looking at her hands nervously.
"Correct, what about the other two?" He asked again.
"Crucio" a boy from slytherin replied.
"And the last?" Lanister said, looking around.
"Avada Kedavra" a girl said.
Harry saw that the girl had black curly hair and a haughty expression.
"Correct Miss Black!" Lanister said, clapping his hands together. "Now, anyone want to give an explanation for all of them? Ah, how about you Mr. Zeller?".
Harry sighed.
"The imperius curse puts the person in a dreamlike state, where the feel themselves in bliss. They feel lighthearted and happy, as the person who inflicted the curse can control them with ease. The reason for this is because the person listens to the order given as they feel it's the only right thing to do. The cruciatus curse focuses on inflicting pain and torture on the victim. They will feeling as though their body is being ripped apart in shreds and pieces, sometimes as though their brain might even explode. Sometimes, people affected by this curse might even get tortured to insanity. The Avada Kedavra is a killing curse. It inflicts a blinding flash of green light upon the victim. There is no escape" Harry said.
The whole class stared at him in shock. How could he know so much?
The marauders were perplexed too. Harry spoke as though... he felt it himself!
Proffessor Lanister was quite shocked too. The explanation this boy gave was even more detailed than some from one of the best aurors.
"That... is quite correct Mr Zeller" he said, still eyeing the boy curiously. "Anyway, today, we will be trying to fight the imperius curse. Proffessor Dumbledore has given me permission, so don't worry. I do not plan to do this for many classes, this is just a brief traning. Now, Miss Gracie Alama, please step up front".
Slowly, everyone went up and was put under the curse. None of them fought it. They all walked back to their seats sadly or slightly disapointed. Even Sirius, James and Remus.
"Now then, our last person on the list. Mr Zeller! Please come up front" he announced.
Harry slowly walked to the front of the class.
"Now then, Imperio!" Lanister said.
Harry found himself floating again.
"Twirl like a ballerina Harry... Come one!" a voice echoed.
His mind replied angrily:
"No way! I don't know how to dance!".
"Come on, twirl around!" the voice replied back.
It seemed as though his mind was furious at the prospect of dancing and lost it.
"I. DON'T. WANT. TO. DANCE!" It yelled.
Harry suddenly found himself staring at the class.
Proffessor Lanister was shocked. This boy just shoved him out of his head.
"Well, erm, can I go sit down now?" he asked.
The class gasped. He fought the curse?!
Harry slowly walked back to his seat, as the marauders gaped at him.
"Well, um, as you can see, Mr Zeller broke the curse. This takes a lot of willpower, may I remind you. Anyway, congratulations Mr. Zeller! 10 points to Gryffindor!" he said. "Anyway, class is over. You may leave now".
Harry nervously put his things in his bag, as he felt everyone stare at him with looks of awe. He felt really uncomfortable, and dashed out the class to the Gryffindor Common room.
"I can't believe it! He broke the curse! Most aurors can't do that!" Sirius said, amazed.
"I know!" James replied.
"I think Harry has a lot more to him than we think..." Remus said.
