They were a lazy person.
There was no debating it: they didn't do any schoolwork over the course of the quarantine, got an average on any tests or quizzes they took, slept during lessons, and watched a lot of TV instead of sleeping. They hardly went outside, except for short walks or while at school.
They were a teen idle.
They were embarrassed to admit it, but nothing motivates them much these days unless it's about something they were interested in. Even now, there are just a few things that they were interested in.
Anime is one of the topics they regarded as the highest of their interests. There are so many genres, animation styles, characters, and theories.
Y'know, they weren't a huge fan of Boku No Hero when they first saw it. They believed it was like any other shonen anime ever, with mediocre animation, the same boring plot, and characters that were pretty plain and cliche. They stuck with these opinions until the day they would die.
They watched it in their spare time when they didn't have any other anime to watch, it was sort of like a backup resort. They didn't hate it nor love it, it was just there. They kept up with the manga online since they wanted to see if anything that would peak their likingness to the show happened. They still thought the show was pretty mediocre with little to no interest to them.
Guess that comment came true though, about the opinion until the day they died.
Dying is a strange experience. Your ears start ringing, your body goes cold, there are muffled sounds around you, whispers of other spirits...
Hell, they didn't even think what happened to them was even dying, though they felt like they were getting stabbed every which way and getting my shit rocked.
Anyways, my name is Kaia but you can call me Kai. You're probably wondering how I got into this situation. Well, it all started when I was going to buy some manga at Barnes and Noble...
One would think a Barnes and Noble would be quiet and reserved unless there were those cringy kids who were yelling baka and shit. But those are rare sightings only ever seen very few times, thankfully enough.
However, there is a regular period that the shop becomes quite rowdy, not in the sense of people screaming, but of music blaring from a specific area of the store.
Not that anyone cares; in fact, it was so customary that when the individual walked through the doors, everyone smiled briefly before promptly ignoring them. Instead, they simply hum along with the beat of the music.
And this is where the plot begins. Not with our main protagonist rushing into the street and being struck by a truck, or with them crashing down the stairs, or with anything else. Rather, their life shifted in a soothing way, ish.
"Kaia, a pleasure to see you back as always." One of the workers smiled, waving an arm as the person winked back in response.
"The pleasure is mine, think I can get my regular?" Kaia questioned as the man nodded, walking away leaving the person to their own devices. They put back their airpods, putting the volume all the way up before walking over to the manga section.
Their first priority was to get some of the new volumes of Jujutsu Kaisen that had recently been published, they saw all the spoilers before they could start the anime so they decided it would be best to just continue with the manga. They were currently on the Shibuya arc, and yikes...
They obviously weren't going to buy the actual manga when they could read it in one go in the cafe. Their parents weren't the brightest on 'Chinese cartoons' as they put it. Though they allowed them to watch the shows if it kept them busy, they wouldn't waste their money on the books.
Light Novels were okay in their view, they were lucky enough that their favorite anime, 'The Rising Shield Hero' had a light novel. Thank the lord, they really wanted hand copies instead of having to save it digitally.
They giggled a bit, thinking about how they always talked to themselves as if someone were to hear their thoughts at all times. But, who would want to listen to them rant about their crushes, anime life, music, and sad stuff? Put it simply, no one would.
They walked over to the manga section taking out a Jujutsu Kaisen checking their notes list to see if this was the right volume and then smiled seeing they remember correctly.
As they walked over to a table, Kaia felt a tap on their shoulder. Turning around to see the man from before holding a cup of hot chocolate and a donut. "Your order m'lady." He teased with a sly grin as they nodded with a content smile.
"Thank you, madam. Your services are appreciated." He rolled his eyes playfully before returning back to his post as Kaia walked over to a table and began reading their manga. It seemed as time has flown by and to say the least, they were content with the ending of the Shibuya arc.
Kaia walked back to the shelf to return the manga when in its place was the Boku no Hero Academia manga specifically, the first volume. Weird, as far as they were concerned the store didn't have any Boku no Hero manga since a few months ago after an incident with some fans occurred.
They reached their hand to grab it, examining it before opening it to see blank pages. "Huh? This can't be right..." They skimmed through each page and there was nothing. They finally flipped to the last page and on there it said the words 'Mina Ashido'.
"What the hell? What about Misha Ashido-" Before the girl could utter another word their body froze in shock, dropping the book they tried gasping for air but to no avail it was like their soul was being sucked out of them, blood oozing out of their body as they tried to stop it.
Whispers floated around them with words of heroes and villains. And before they knew it, the girl was out like a light, unable to see the world shifting around them.
I awoke relatively calmly. You'd imagine I'd be flipping the fuck out, and you'd be right, but in this case, it's not the best option. I pressed my hands against the bed as I laid on thinking about how comfortable the beds were in hell.
I didn't open my eyes until an alarm clock began to ring. I slammed my fist against the object before finally opening my eyes and raising a hand to the ceiling above.
A pink hand.
Pink.
"PINK!" I yelled, sitting up straight, before examining my hands, which were all pink. My chest, boobs, arms, and stomach were all pink, as were my hands. I threw the blankets off the bed and stared at my pink legs and feet.
Everything was pink.
I reached up and twirled my hair, which had short, unnatural curls when it should have been long, curly, black hair. "What the fuck...?"
I paused for a moment before running into the bathroom with some sort of memory in my head as I stared at what was ahead of me in shock. I trailed a finger down my face inspecting my now black and yellow eyes.
"... You have got to fucking kidding me? THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR PUSHING A KID OFF A PLAYSET!? THIS IS WHAT I GET, REALLY SATAN? REALLY GOD!?"
I, Kaia of the human world, have teleported into the hero world of Boku No Hero Academia and entered the body of one, Mina Ashido.
"I fucking knew I should have joined the manga hate club, light novels were always better anyways."
