Author's Note: I came up with the idea for this story when I wrote Currently Without a Name because Itchy's mentioned in there. So I hope you enjoy it and review. I don't own The Suite Life or any of the characters except for Itchy.

"Oh my God, Mom, thanks!" exclaimed Cody as he pulled the lid off the box in his arms.

It was the twins' thirteenth birthday and Carey had gotten the boys both presents. Zack had already ripped the wrapping off a video game that he really wanted, a basketball, and a shirt he claimed made him look "hot." He was now feverishly ripping the wrapping off another package. Cody, however, had a rather large single box and he took his time unwrapping it—saving the paper for "humane" purposes. He had finally finished unwrapping it.

"You're welcome, honey," Carey said smiling. Her kids were teenagers now.

"What did you get, Cody?" Zack wanted to know. His smile faded. "No way! That's not fair!"

"Yeah, in your face, brother," Cody said back, with a radiant grin.

"It's perfectly fair," Carey said, looking happily at Cody. "See, Cody didn't waste his birthday wish with stuff like you wanted. He only wanted this, and," she interrupted Zack who was protesting, "he typed up a four page proposal on why he should have it."

"But Mom!" Zack started, but Carey cut him off.

The duck, which was in a cage in the box, quacked.

"I got a duck," Cody stated, his smile so big that Zack could have sworn it would split his face in two. "I think I'll name him…" His smile faded. "What should I name him?"

"Why don't you ask the duck?" Tapeworm suggested, leaning over from the top of Cody's chair.

"What kind of idea is that?" Cody said, looking at Tapeworm. Then he looked hard at the duck with its green head and purple and brown feathers. "Wait, that's actually a pretty good idea."

Tapeworm shrugged. He just suggested it.

"Duckie," Cody said, and the duck ignored him.

"Don't name the duck 'Duckie'," Zack snapped. "That's like your 'Blankie.'"

"Don't bring Blankie into this!" Cody yelped. "Blankie couldn't help that I was two when I named him!"

"Looks like you're still two right now," Zack said with a chuckle.

Cody grimaced. He would have attacked Zack, but Carey pushed them apart.

"It's your birthday, can't you get along for once?"

"No way," Zack said, "it was my birthday until he came along. Oh, those ten minutes that he wasn't here with me."

Carey looked crossly at him, but Cody didn't seem to hear his brother. He was still testing out names.

"Duck. P. Ducky. Uh… Matt? Kyle? Ducky with a y? Uh…" The duck stared at Cody with its beady eyes.

"Hurry up, Cody. I'm getting itchy just waiting for you to decide," Tapeworm said, scratching the back of his neck.

The duck quacked.

"Wait, Tapeworm," Cody said. "Repeat what you just said."

"Hurry up Cody," Tapeworm was interrupted by Cody.

"No, say it slowly," Cody corrected him.

"Ok," Tapeworm said. "Hurry. Up. Cody." The duck remained quiet, and Cody breathed a sigh of relief. He wouldn't want the duck to have his name. "I'm. Getting. Itchy." The duck quacked.

"Wait," Cody said. "Tape, say that again."

"I'm." There was silence. "Getting." There was silence. "Itchy." There was a quack.

"Itchy?" Cody asked the duck. "Are you sure?"

The duck quacked.

"Ok, you're Itchy now," Cody said, nodding at the duck. The duck quacked.

"Itchy?" Carey wanted to know. "What kind of name is Itchy?"

Cody smiled. His first pet. A duck. Itchy.

Review? More coming up.
