A content sigh left Reyna as she finished her stretches. She always tried to spend the first fifteen or twenty minutes of her day stretching and getting limber. Reyna didn't get much sleep the night before as she had another appointment with Rachel. She truthfully couldn't tell if it was going well or not.

They didn't have one topic they settled on. It was really just Reyna ranting and jumping from topic to topic like she was trying out free samples. Trying to open up left her restless the night before, and she was still trying to recover from her cold. Her morning was spent with Hylla and Kinzie to secure the loan for their business and signing paperwork. Then, she stopped by and checked on Hazel before going to the gym.

All in all, Reyna was already tired. She couldn't let that stop her, though. The fight with Clarisse was approaching, and Reyna had to be ready. It didn't matter how tired or sore she was. Nothing would stop her from taking that victory and chance at a title match.

"Reyna?" Frank asked. Reyna turned and looked at Frank; he looked like he had walked into the gym and had probably just finished visiting Hazel. "Can we talk?"

"Sure," Reyna said. "I just need to get some water."

Frank offered an unopened bottle. Reyna thanked him and took a sip. As she did, Frank studied her. A small frown came to his face, and he spoke, "I'm sorry about yelling at you after my fight. I shouldn't have said that you don't care about us."

"I do care for all of you," Reyna insisted. "That's why I didn't want you to be distracted during your fight. I was going to tell you about Hazel after your adrenaline wore off."

"I really am sorry," Frank repeated as he sat on a weight lifting bench. Reyna sat down across from him. "Looking back on it, I feel terrible. I feel like a dick, really. I don't know how to make up for it."

"You don't have anything to make up for, Frank. I know a lot about outbursts I regret, and you've always forgave me," Reyna excused. "So, all is forgiven."

Frank nodded, and his shoulders drooped like a weight had fallen from them. He smiled at Reyna, "I asked Hazel out."

"Really?" Reyna asked as a smile split her lips. "That's great. Assuming she said yes."

"She did," Frank confirmed.

"I'm happy for you two," Reyna said. Frank smiled at her, and the two sat in a relaxing silence. Reyna wasn't going to worry about what he said when he was upset. She said a lot of things that she didn't mean when she was upset, and she wasn't going to blame someone else for when they did the same.

Not to mention she just didn't have the energy to be upset about it anymore. Frank was a sweet guy, so that was another reason she was going to let this pass. Movement caught her attention, and she turned to see Lupa walking toward them. Annabeth was right behind her.

"Morning," Lupa greeted with a small smile. Frank returned the gesture. Reyna nodded her greeting and then averted her gaze to Annabeth. The champion hadn't been there the day before, probably because she was helping Thalia. Reyna didn't know anymore details, and while she wasn't owed any of them, she just wanted to know if Thalia was okay.

"While I have all of you here, I want to talk about planning for Reyna's and Annabeth's next fight. With Hazel out for surgery, I will take her place in helping one of you prepare for your fight," Lupa stated. "Frank will help the other."

"You should help Annabeth," Reyna suggested.

"Are you sure?" Annabeth questioned as she looked at Reyna. Lupa seemed to have the same thought.

"I am," Reyna confirmed. "You're the champion after all."

"Well, that makes it easy then," Lupa said. She cleared her throat. "I'll still look over your plan, Reyna."

Reyna nodded and didn't say anything else. Lupa studied her for a moment, but Reyna just turned toward Frank, "Do you mind helping me warm up with a spar before we watch the film?"

"Just get changed," Frank answered as he turned and walked toward the locker. Lupa looked at Annabeth.

"Should the two of us start with a film?" Lupa asked.

"Just don't hate me for how many notes I take," Annabeth joked. Lupa smiled and nodded. She walked toward the stairs, and Annabeth started to follow.

"Hey, Annabeth." Reyna spoke up. Annabeth turned to look at her. "I know it's not really my business. I just... is Thalia okay?"

"She's better," Annabeth answered. "Thank you so much for helping her, Reyna."

"I wasn't just going to leave someone on the side of the road," Reyna said with a shrug. "Did she say why she was driving drunk? You don't have to tell me of course."

"It's her job," Annabeth replied, a heavy sigh leaving her. "She told us about this really disturbing case she had, and that she tried to help this woman. The woman didn't want help and went back to her boyfriend. He assaulted her physically and sexually before killing her and her kid."

"Holy shit…" Reyna exhaled. Annabeth nodded her agreement.

"It really stuck with Thalia, and it screwed with her head. Add in relationship problems and a lack of sleep just caused her to drink. Then, she 'went for a drive'," Annabeth explained. "Thankfully, her work offers therapy, and she's taking off a few weeks. Jason's doing the same. Thalia promised him it won't happen again."

"I'm glad she's doing better," Reyna replied. She knew that a promise Thalia made, especially one to Jason, wouldn't be broken. "I'm also glad she wasn't hurt."

"Thank you again, Reyna. Jason is beyond grateful as well," Annabeth expressed. Reyna nodded and shifted. "I should go watch the clips."

"Yeah. I'm going to go spar with Frank," Reyna said as she stepped away. She walked toward the ring and started to stretch. A million thoughts tried to run through her head, and she sighed as she leaned on the ring. A deep breath left her.

Reyna couldn't push her thoughts aside and ignore them. She needed to work through them. Reyna was still worried about Thalia, especially after what she had heard. The two of them were broken up, but the truth was that Reyna wasn't fully over Thalia. She still cared deeply about her.

It wasn't something that Reyna was just going to get over instantly. She needed time, but she just wished it wasn't that much time. Not to mention they talked about Thalia in therapy. It was what made her realize she still had feelings for the woman. It didn't matter, though.

There was also everything with her mother and Lupa. It grated on Reyna every day that Lupa knew her mother. Reyna wanted to march up there and demand to know what the hell Lupa's problem was. She couldn't do it, though. She couldn't find the courage to go up there and demand answers.

Reyna knew she could just go to the police station and see her mother. Hell, she could just grab her phone, go to the website for the precinct, and see a picture. Something just stopped her. Mostly fear. Reyna was scared to know why, because there had to be a good reason.

Was it because of her?

It couldn't be because of Hylla. Their mother wouldn't have come back to have Reyna if that was the case. So, it had to be Reyna's fault. What the hell did she do, though? She was a damn kid. Did her father do something? If he did, why didn't their mother come back after he died?

Reyna knew she could just find her mother and ask her. Hell, she could probably ask Lupa. Reyna was just scared, though. She was scared to know why her mother just abandoned them. A sigh left Reyna. She couldn't dwell on it anymore.

All she could do was train and prepare for her next fight. Her cardio was shot from all of the injuries and resting. Preparing for a fight would be hard, but it was only going to be worse against someone as strong and skilled as Clarisse. She would win, though. Nothing would stop her.
