BRONX, NY: CHRISTMAS 2022
It was a cold, snowy night in the Bronx. My town. I stood from my balcony and watched as some little kids threw snowballs at one another while others were making snowmen. Christmas lights lined up and down the snowy street. I have to say, I'm really proud of myself for turning life around for the citizens of the former run-down city. I definitely have everything I want and need. I'm a hero to the Bronx. A living hero. I'm not one to really talk about myself, but I have one person to really be proud of: me.
"Jesus... I gave these kids and their families freedom, safety, and most of all, comfort. No one is scared of going out. The city's clean. Everyone is happy. Wish I had that growing up here."
Just because I saved the Bronx, does not mean that I don't fight to protect it. I am the leader of the Colombian Defense Cartel, what was once the biggest drug dealing cartel in all of New York, but now, we're fighting our main enemies to protect our people: the Italian Mafia, led by my once good friend, basically my brother, Hunter Helmsley. On the other side of Bronx, NY... is the city of Queens. The only other city that freedom wasn't allowed in. I somehow managed to evade the Italians for 25 years following the biggest war between the two biggest drug dealers in New York. And I also managed to break one of his biggest underbosses from them. Of those 25 years, it took 1 painful, anxious, and death-defying year to end my fiancé's nightmare of being in Queens. Not knowing if he'd be killed, beaten, or even stabbed in the back by Hunter.
"Randal."
"Yes, Jonathan."
"You don't look too good. What's wrong?"
I broke Randal Keith Orton out from Queens. It was a hellacious year.
"Not much, just wish my mother was still here. I know she'd want to see me happy in life."
I hate seeing Randal upset, but his mother meant the world to him and honestly, she was the queen of his life. It all came crashing down on us when she was killed by Randal's estranged father one year to the day I rescued Orton.
What started as a drug deal gone wrong led to a year long plan of escape, freedom and rescue.
