Harry find safety at Grimmauld

"Alright, Harry, I'll show you to your room and then you can unpack and rest. I'll wake you up when it's time for dinner. Does that sound okay?" Sirius asked gently keeping his arm wrapped protectively around his godson's shoulders. Sirius tried to contain his disappointment as his godson just nodded and offered no verbal response. Harry had not spoken a word to anyone since their conversation the previous evening. After talking with Severus and Albus, the men had decided it would be best for Harry to take a break and spend some time healing at his godfather's home, hopefully, surrounded by people who cared about him.

Severus agreed to check in at the start of every weekend to see to Harry's physical healing. Albus was confident Harry wouldn't have any difficulty catching up when he returned to classes, but with the help of Professor McGonagall, they'd made a plan to allow some of Harry's friends to spend weekends at Grimmauld place, not only to tutor Harry with the more important school assignments but also to help keep things lighthearted. Hermione, Ron, Fred, George, Ginny, Neville, and Luna would all be coming after classes on Friday and would return to Hogwarts Sunday afternoon. Remus Lupin, and Arthur and Molly Weasley were living at Grimmauld place and would help provide Harry with a sense of family. Although everyone was hoping they would be able to help Harry heal, it was decided that if after two weeks there wasn't a significant improvement in the boy's physical and mental health, they would consult a mind healer.

"Here we are. This is your room, Harry. There's a bathroom across the hall. My room is right next to your room. Remus' room is across from mine and the Weasley's are downstairs. Whenever you're feeling up to it, I'd like to take you to Diagon Alley for a new wardrobe and we can get you anything you need for your room while we're there," Sirius said gently trying to prompt a response from his godson.

Harry, however, was completely stunned at the beautiful room. The large room had hardwood floors. Light brown, almost white walls were accented by Gryffindor's red curtains hanging over the windows. The canopy of his king-sized bed matched the red of the curtains. His bedspread was the same color as the curtains and canopy but with stripes of golden yellow which matched the soft rug which added a splash of color to the room. Underneath the window was a large desk that was home to a rather eccentric lamp and a single framed picture. In the photo, a baby Harry was being swung around by a younger-looking Sirius. Lily had just walked into the room clearly letting Sirius know how displeased she was at his recklessness. James and Remus watched the scene with amusement shining on their faces having been conversing before the welcomed interruption.

"Pup?" Sirius asked in his concerned adult voice as Harry moved towards the desk clearly not hearing a word his godfather was saying. Sirius watched silently as the boy picked up the frame and gently fingered the picture as if it would shatter beneath his touch. After a few moments, the boy slowly turned to his godfather tears in his eyes. Sirius' heart broke at how young and broken the child looked at that moment. Unsure of how to proceed, Sirius held out his arms. Harry rushed into his godfather's embrace. The shaking of the boy's shoulders was the only indication that he was sobbing uncontrollably and it broke Siriuis' heart even more.

After what felt like an eternity, Harry's shaking subsided and he pulled away from his godfather to wipe the tears off his face. "How can I help you, pup?" Sirius asked.

Harry just shook his head and moved over to lie on his bed. Sirius was at a loss, completely unsure of what to do to help his godson who was in so much pain. So the man moved to the bathroom to wet a washcloth with warm water. He sat next to Harry on the bed and gently wiped the child's face. He just hoped that his presence offered some sense of comfort for the child until soon after, he drifted to sleep. Once the boy was asleep, Sirius watched over him for a few more minutes, before carefully taking his leave.

Sirius met Remus in the kitchen. "How's Harry?" Remus asked from his place at the table where he was nursing a hot chocolate.

"Not well, Remus. He still hasn't said anything since yesterday. And when I showed him his room, he started sobbing at the picture we had framed. I think he loved it, but the tears and the shaking, and he didn't even make any noise. I didn't have any idea what to do! All I could do was hold him and then sit with him until he fell asleep. How are we going to do this, Remus? He needs his parents. He needs...well, I don't even know what he needs! Which certainly means he doesn't need me!" Sirius explained as he sank into the kitchen chair and hung his head in his hands.

"Sirius, yes, he needs his parents, but his parents can't be here. So, the next best thing is having people who love him. Like Severus explained, a family can be more than just blood. We are his family, Sirius. We just have to show him how much we love him and hope he can learn to trust us. We will help him, Sirius. You are alone in this," Remus comforted.

"I'm scared, Remus," Sirius admitted.

Just then Arthur and Molly Weasley came back from an afternoon spent cleaning the burrow. "Oh Remus, Sirius, hello! Is Harry here? How is he?" Molly asked.

"He is here, just arrived about an hour ago. He's still not talking, and he's asleep right now. We definitely have our work cut out for us," Sirius answered.

"Well, it's a good thing he's here with us then," Molly said brightly as she started dinner.

A few hours later, dinner was ready and Sirius was about to go wake Harry when Remus volunteered to do it.

"Harry, pup, can you open your eyes for me? Harry, it's time to wake up now," Remus said gently after having tapped on Harry's bedroom door and cracked the door open. When the boy didn't respond, Remus entered the room and sat on the bed next to his best friend's son. "Pup, it's time for dinner," Remus said a little bit louder as he rested a hand on the boy's shoulder. Harry shot up with a gasp and terror in his eyes. "I'm sorry, pup. I didn't mean to scare you. It's just time for dinner," Remus explained gently. Harry took a deep breath and nodded. He quickly gave the man a hug before walking out the door for dinner. Remus followed the boy to the dining room slightly confused and very concerned for the boy.

"Have you been enjoying your fifth year so far, Harry?" Molly asked as everyone began eating.

Harry just shrugged, nodded, and took a bite of his sandwich.

"Ron mentioned you guys would probably win the Quidditch cup again this year," Molly tried to prompt.

Harry nodded a bit more enthusiastically as he continued eating.

"Harry, have you ever used the muggle microwave?" Arthur asked after a few moments of awkward silence.

Again Harry nodded. His sandwich was almost completely gone already.

"Well, I have a theory that they run on electricity. Is that correct?" Arthur asked enthusiastically.

Harry nodded and drank his nutrition potion before starting on the soup.

"And the electricity also powers muggle lights, muggle TVs, and even the muggle refrigerator?"

Again, Harry nodded. The meal continued like that with Arthur asking countless questions about muggle devices and Harry nodding until eventually, the boy had finished his entire meal. When the boy started clearing the table and washing the dishes, Molly tutted disapprovingly.

"Harry, child, we have magic for that. You needn't trouble yourself. Why don't you, Remus, and Sirius go play some quidditch in the yard. Arthur and I will take care of this," Molly explained shooing the boys out of the kitchen.
