I wanted to do various shorts instead of a novel. They can be connected, or just prompts. If you have a prompt for a time traveling Jane and her pack of domesticated? Demogorgon's, let me know!
First things' first.
She has a few years until Will goes missing. But! She already killed Vecna before he took control of the Mind Flayer. The Mind Flayer appears uninterested in her (for a change), And the Demogorgans aren't eating her (yet).
She ALREADY changed the future.
She spun around to look at the REAL Upside Down. Not a replica of Hawkins, but clearly an other worldly place.
Was it Vecnas' influence? Or did it happen when she first opened the gate?
Well, she's not subjecting her mini-me to that again! Papa is just going to have to focus on her. She'll train herself if she has to.
Nodding, she smiled.
Time to change the future!
But first, Jane has to deal with a small pack of curious Demogorgans.

What did they even eat before coming to Hawkins?! There's nothing here!

Ok, from what she remembers from Will, their life cycle started with a disgusting tendril shoved down his throat, where he started vomiting slugs after a month. But what's with that egg she saw that first time?
~/~
Stomach growling, she gave up. Time to open a gate.
With dread, she faced her stalkers.
"I'm going back home to get food." They perked up in curiosity. "If you want to come, you have to do as I say. I will tell you what is food and what is not. Do. You. Understand?"
They screached with their faces open and circled her in excitement.
She dragged a hand down her face, expecting the worst, but a little hopeful.
She sat down and wished she had her blindfold. But it was quiet enough, she guesses.
Huh, she's next to the supermarket where she once stole Eggos.

Once the portal was opened-
She screamed at what she saw in the Upside Down.
Ok, yes, watching Hawkins rapidly build itself was as terrifying as she expected!
The adult Demogorgan quickly grabbed her and pulled her out of the way of the stores' walls forming. The thing screamed at the wall and started fussing over her.
"Th-thank you!" Jane gasped from the shock as the Demogorgan chirped at her. The Demodogs were running around, screeching at everything as it formed.
The rumbling stopped and the town was complete.
And-
Ash fell from the sky as she looked up.
She sighed. The Mind Flayer arrived, probably curious about what the commotion was. Well, at least this place looks familiar now. But its' stuck earlier in time compared to the first time.
She noticed the gate was open on the floor between isles. She heard screaming on the other side. "Let's get this over with…"

The residents of the supermarket bore witness to a gate from hell opening up next to the meat section.
And then a person trying to claw its way out of the glowing membrane.
The staff tried to evacuate, but curiosity won out. Security called the cops and sirens were eventually heard in the distance.
The locals were shocked and confused. It wasn't a demon, but a teenage girl.
Wait no, a demon followed behind her.
Security whipped out their weapons and the crowd scrambled way back!
"Wait! Don't shoot! We're just here to get some food and then we'll leave!" Jane had her hands up, but security wasn't letting up.
The Demogorgan became very protective and screamed at them, but stayed by her side, for which she was grateful.
Shaking, Security DID notice, they weren't attacking.
"Who are you?! And WHAT is THAT!?"
"My name is Jane Hopper. This is an adult Demogorgan. That is a gate to a world known as the Upside Down. The same as Hawkins but darker. And no," she looked at someone praying. "It is not Hell. Hell is when you're dead. You are alive there like you are here. Unless they eat you, THEN you are dead."
"Right…" The manager should get an award for keeping composure, shaky as it was. "You just wanted food?"
"Yes, I don't have money and my friends were curious. I am teaching them food that's not people."
Manager nodded rapidly in agreement. "I have some food on sale over there, you are welcome to it! J-Just this once."
"Thank you!" She sagged with relief. "I'll close the portal now. If it stays open, things near it start dying and get contaminated."
"Contaminated how?" The deli and meat workers cautiously asked.
"Do you see the ashes coming out?" They nodded. "That and gray roots are the contamination. Nothing living survives there. I was there for days before wanting to come back." Her stomach growled again.
At that, a few of the parents watching nodded and wanted to fuss.
"Here, take this." One father handed her some money to last for the week. Once the shock wore off, the crowd asked many questions, but kept their distance due to her scary bodyguard.

When they learned she was still underage, they showed her how to get to the volunteer center and food pantry.
The Demogorgan had no idea what to do with these strange beings. But the food in that strange covering was delicious! (The meat department worker found some packages on sale that were still good, then opened and dumped them in a bucket for the Demogorgon. The thing went to town as if experiencing a buffet for the first time in its life! The workers shared an amused glance and asked the manager if they could give it the leftover or unsold meat from that point on.)

So, what started as a shopping trip, ended up solving the food problem! Nice!
Next, a place to sta-
A very familiar cop car rolled up next to the pair.
"Uh… Kid..?"
"Don't worry, he's behaving."
"Right, that's not-" He sighed. "Nevermind. Where are your parents?"
And he was treated to her wanting to cry. He sagged, oh no. "Where are you staying?"
She shrugged.
And he got a real good look at her. She was a mess!
Sighing from the depths of his soul, he put the truck in park. "Get in kid, let's get you taken care of. Uh…" Then he stared at her friend.
"He'll just run alongside us. They can run for a while."
"You know what? Sure. Hop in."
Jane climbed in, and was full of nervous excitement. She missed this. The truck, her father- "Thank you."
"Hopper, Jim Hopper. I'm the Chief of police here in Hawkins. And you are?"
"Jane Hopper." She smiled.
Jim bellowed out a laugh. "Ha! Hopper? Small world, eh?"
She giggled and nodded.
"Let's go."
Jane leaned out the window. "Follow us! Can you keep up?" She teased.
Oh yeah, the Demogorgan took that challenge! Screaming, flowerface open, it got into position.
They took off!
~/~
Jim fielded many calls about Jane's friend as it ran happily beside them trying to keep up.
Jane laughed and told Jim the Demogorgon was excited to let loose and run like that!

Making it to the police station, he asked Flo to pick up some shower supplies as they made their way to the stations' showers.
The woman took it from there and Janes' friend was curious as it looked around and poked at things. "Hey, kid!" he yelled as she was about to walk around the corner. "He can understand us, right?"
"A little. He's not from here. I can explain after. This is all new to them. I can read his mind, so I can translate. But mostly emotions. I want to train him, if able. This one is calm and better behavior than others." She looked determined. "But, I am still getting better at speaking myself. Papa had me until I was 11.(She looked sad, as if grieving) But! Then I was adopted by my father. I became Jane Hopper. He- They said he died! But! I believe he's still alive." She wanted to cry.
"You said, you became Jane Hopper. What was your name before?" He cautiously asked the distraught girl.
She then held out her arm, to show her tattoo. "I went by 11."
Silence in the station.
("A number?!" Someone whispered.)
"Who is your father?"
She remained silent.
"Do you expect us to believe this chief?!" His partner asked hysterically.
"Ok, kid. Here's what we're going to do. First, go take a shower and get cleaned up. Afterwards, we'll get you some food and you are going to answer all my questions."
She nodded rapidly, then ran to his arms and cried.
Before he could do more than be grossed out by the slime, and be confused why she hugged him, she let go and ran away crying.
The cops were left alone with a calm Demogorgon, sniffing at a coffee pot. "Hey, no! Not for you!"

In the interrogation room, she felt like she was being watched.
She saw a little girl in the corner of her eye and Jane smiled at her.
"Jane?" Hopper asked, confused.
"Nothing."
