The Owl Familia: The Family That Will Grow Forever:
Side-Story: Steve Moves In

Eda grumbled as she stared out the window in the living room. It was late in the morning, the kids were off to school, and the only ones in the house should have been the sisters. Well, that was partly true; only Eda and Lilith were in the house. Outside the house was a different story.

"Edayln," Lilith called to her sister as she stepped into the living room. "I could use some help with the potion commission I got the other day. Also, it's nearly time, and…he's out there again, isn't he?

"Oh yeah," Eda replied with a crude nod.

Lilith let a tired sigh and joined her sister at the window. Steve wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he was on the Familia's land; he was standing out in the open and waving at the sisters.

Eda let out a sigh and took a long sip of her apple-blood. "Doesn't have his own place to crush?" she asked her sister.

"It's hard to tell, sister," Lilith said uncertainly. "Things are still problematic at the moment. Would you want me to talk to him this time?"

"No," Eda said firmly, handing her sister her cup. "It's time for mama to set things straight."

Eda stepped outside and made a spell circle over her mouth. She blew a whistle through the circle and Owda came running. Eda extended the circle to cover her entire body and the bond-beast jumped through it.

Lilith cocked an eyebrow as she watched witch and beast become one. She wonder why her sister would merge if she didn't need the extra power such a spell would bring. She get her answer a second later when Eda tore off her right arm at the shoulder and went over to the ex-scout, literally swinging her arm.

With a sigh, Lilit turned away from the window and glanced down at the mug. She gave it a quick sniff and grimaced at the foul smell. She walked up to the table and put the mug on the table.

"I'm back!" Eda Roar triumphantly, swinging the door open and causing poor Hooty some discomfort.

Lilith cocked an eyebrow at her sister and replied, "That was fast. Did you get Steve to leave without problems?"

"Better!" Eda exclaimed with a triumphant grin and pulled out a coin pouch from her hair. "I got a month's rent in advance!"

Lilith's right eye began to twitch as she looked at her sister in annoyance. "EDA! You should have consulted me about this before you made Steve a tenant here! If this somehow jeopardized our trip to the human realm-"

"Aww, don't worry, Lily," Eda interrupted with a hand wave. "What's the worse he could do in two days?"

Like the titan wanted to prove her wrong, the sisters suddenly heard a crash followed by a boom and then a small explosion. Finally, to top things off, they heard a…kazoo.

Lilith sent a glare at her sheepishly smiling sister as she rushed past her. Once she was out the door running, she called Rath and went through the bonding spell as the raven beast rushed to her.

Eda soon joined her sister and the two made their way to the area the younger Clawthorne allowed the ex-scout to call his own. They came to a dead stop and gawk at what they saw; Steve had already dug out a foundation and was using his magic to fill the foundation with sand. To the ex-scout's right was his bike, where his scroll was blasting random noises.

Steve noticed the sisters a second after they entered his area and gave them a wave.

"Hey, Clawthornes. Sorry was my work playlist too loud?" Steve asked cheerfully.

Lilith got over her shock with a quick head shake and gestured to the scout's choice of transport.

"Steve, may I inquire about this?"

Steve just smiled as he said, "Oh Steve likes to listen to loud noises while he works. It keeps Steve focused. Would you like for Steve to turn it down?"

Just a little lost by all of this, Lilith simply nodded. With a cheeky grin, the scout walked over to the bike and adjust the volume on his scroll. With the noise taken off, Steve returned to his first task.

Lilith sighed and could feel her sister's eyes burning into her head. She looked with her eyes at the cocky grin her sister was now sporting and refused to say anything so as not to give her sister any fuel for the fire.

"Now comes the fun part," Steve said, getting the sisters' attention.

They watched as he made a spell circle and a giant boulder came down in front of him. The sisters were startled by this but were outright surprised when Steve made a big hammer and slammed down on the boulder. The shockwave that followed was strong enough to nearly caused the sisters to lose their balance.

Steve happily began to break the boulder into small pieces, unaware of the glares he was getting from Lilith.

"Ahh, farts," Eda groaned, "I think this one might come back and bite me in the tail feathers."

Lilith just gave her sister a smile that said 'he's your problem' and decided to leave it at that. She turned on her heel and began making her way back home. She still needed to get that potion commission done and get everything ready for the trip.
