Blood
He stood there…over the body of his brother.
The battle had ended, and Sasuke stood as the victor.
But what was it that he won?
He looked around and saw that blood was splattered everywhere. Sasuke clenched his fist at the sight this blood all over the ground, carelessly. Itachi now laid on the ground and bled, while Sasuke drowned in it.
Sasuke's heartbeat doubled.
But this wasn't the first time Itachi had bled.
He had bled once before when he had spilt blood.
When he had spilt his family's blood.
His blood.
And as Sasuke looked at the ground, where his brother was, Sasuke realized he himself was now bleeding too, for he done the same thing his brother once did.
Sasuke had spilt blood.
He had spilt his family's blood.
He had just spilt his own blood.
Sasuke realized that he wasn't only drowning in his brother 's blood, but his own as well.
