Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Dragon and her rook. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.

(Atlas, during 'Worst Case Scenario'.)

"All the power in the world and you all stand by while Mantle suffers!" Robyn hissed before her shield was deflected by Skyler's sword.

"Oh, really big words raiding military convoys after the election!" Skyler growled in return before blocking an arrow with his cybernetic arm. "You act like you deserve to be on the council because all you care about is Mantle!" Skyler shouted in a roar. Venom seemed to drip from every syllable of every word he stated.

Skyler rushed Robyn before digging his sword into the ground. He slid under Robyn's leg only to be forced to block Robyn's weapon. Sparks flew from his arm while the duo glared at each other.

"You've been gone for months, who the hell are you to accuse me of anything!?" Robyn demanded as Skyler backflipped away. He spotted a round flying towards Robyn.

The Guardian of Mantle was sent sliding backward as Yang cocked her arm back. A single round was ejected from Ember Celica before she faced Robyn.

"We don't have to fight; we just want to talk," Yang stated while Robyn rushed at her.

Yang swung a right hook before Robyn spun around her and fired an arrow at Skyler. Skyler twirled as well, using the momentum to cut the arrow in half as the remains flew to the side.

"That's a load of crap." Robyn hissed as Skyler rushed her. He fired his sword before leaping into the air to bring the blade down with his right hand.

Robyn pushed Yang back and deflected the bulled before parrying Lazuli Centurion. Skyler felt Robyn's fist connect with his face as he slid back. His aura crackled blue for a moment before he faced Robyn again.

"Tell me, Colonel, what hurts more?" Robyn asked as she faced both Skyler and Yang. "The fact that nobody supports Atlas or the fact that I've been doing better for the kingdom?" Robyn questioned while Skyler let out a small laugh.

"I find it funny you think you were ever going to be a politician," Skyler stated as he leaned his sword on his shoulder. "The fact that you seem to only have the smugness of a politician down. You act like everyone in the government hates you and nobody can save Mantle but you. I've seen you attack trucks of supplies; I've seen you encourage people to attack Atlas soldiers. Do you want to protect Mantle? Then maybe you should stop screwing with the government who also runs Solitas as well." Skyler hissed with amusement before cracking his neck.

Robyn wanted to fight, but she realized that not only was she within a trap… But that Skyler had no intention of fighting fair.

"Hmm…." Robyn hummed and cracked her neck before another explosion went off in Mantle. Skyler looked to the side with shock.

"Merlot…" Skyler yelled before he looked back at Robyn. "He's screwing with all of us." Skyler hissed while humming.

"Colonel, we're dealing with Ms. Hill," Clover stated as the rest of the Ace-Ops dropped down into the arena. "You should return to the academy," Clover added while flicking his arm to the side which deployed Kingfisher.

"I…" Skyler started to say and sighed with annoyance. He knew for a fact that Merlot was still wreaking havoc on the rest of Mantle. He still wanted to fight Robyn, to wipe the smugness out of her. "Damn it." Skyler hissed before planting his blade in the ground.

Skyler watched as Clover and the others rushed after Robyn who ran into the night. Skyler sighed and crossed his arms while he rolled his eyes. Skyler put his sword onto his back and watched as the rest of the Atlesian forces departed.

"Merlot…" Skyler stated before he turned and walked back to the landing Manta. Skyler knew for a fact that Merlot would be rampaging through Mantle.

He knew for a fact that he'd tear through the entire continent if he didn't stop him.

Skyler sighed with annoyance as he climbed aboard the Manta. He turned to look at Yang only to realize she was gone. Skyler looked to the side and frowned.

"Yang," Skyler muttered to himself while frowning. The manta departed back to the academy.

He knew where Yang was going. Skyler knew he also couldn't fight. Skyler was tired of one thing. He wanted to make sure that Merlot was done and dusted.

The only way to do that was to make sure Mantle was in good hands. Skyler knew he'd be at odds with Yang over the next few days.

"Uncle, I'm starting to get tired of these power plays your pulling," Skyler stated as he sat down on one of the benches.

The manta soared towards the academy. Skyler could barely see the city of Mantle at the moment.

Phew, another chapter is done! Yes. I know the chapter is short and such… I plan on making one chapter longer than the others currently. I also want to point out that due to other stories? I am making Yang 1-2 chapters a month due to other stories… And running out of desire to continue this much longer currently. The next chapter will be in 8-9 weeks and will show Skyler talking to Ironwood and Yang going to meet Robyn at the academy with the others. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Yang is 900 words Saturday. Cinder 900 words Monday. Ruby 900 words Sunday. Penny 900 words Tuesday. Neo 900 words Thursday and Raven 900 words Sunday. Weiss, Saphron, Willow, Tock, and others are iffy.
