Three weeks had passed by in the blink of an eye. Contrary to what regular people believed, UA wasn't always doing heroics courses. Yes, it was the school with the best reputation and many aspiring heroes would love to attend, but it wasn't limited to just hands-on battles. Over the course of the past three weeks, his class had gone over the laws and regulations that heroes were expected to abide by. He knew there were rules, but he didn't know there were that many.

Some he understood and even agreed with, such as no using your quirk in public without due cause. It would be a catastrophe to let someone like Endeavor just let off flames in public without a justifiable reason. Others however made no sense to him. Students for example couldn't use their quirks without a license, and in the event of an emergency, they still needed approval by a pro hero to use it.

One could never predict when a villain may attack or a natural disaster may occur. What if a pro hero wasn't in the vicinity? Were they just expected to do nothing? He'd be damned if something happened on his watch just because some suits said they couldn't do it.

Apart from the usual legalities that they had to learn, it wasn't all that bad. Last friday after school he'd been taken to Nezu who'd prepared a training ground that All Might used to use. Vlad had reported the incident during their quirk assessment and the small rodent had quickly set up another venue for him. He was told that the facility he was to be tested in had been built to handle All Might's power while training so it would be able to withstand his as well.

Nezu and Vlad weren't the only ones present during his redo however. Word had gotten out and some of the other staff members were also present. All Might himself was there, as was Eraserhead, Ectoplasm, Present Mic, and Midnight. Nezu told him as he was warming up that after having seen part of his entrance exam film they'd become interested in him. The chance to see his quirk up close after what Vlad said was too good to pass up.

Naruto didn't mind, and Vlad King seemingly didn't either. The man had taken up commentating as he went through the different tests Nezu subjected him to. Unlike the first time he actually tried a bit harder due to the tests being tailored more towards his quirk. Hell, if word got out about his potential in the hero game, more pro's would most likely take an interest in him. In Naruto's mind more pro's taking an interest in him equated to more opportunities for fun.

His test results had been recorded and he'd been escorted home soon after. That was last week and he hadn't so much as heard about the evaluations again. Apart from that he'd been relatively bored but today was different. He'd heard from one of the guys sitting nearby that they were going to have a hands on heroics lesson. That made sense as they'd been told earlier that their hero costumes had been delivered already.

The blond wasn't sure what they were going to be doing but at this point anything would be better than laws and regulations. So far, apart from chatting with Setsuna and some of the others, UA wasn't as exciting as his mom had made it out to be.

He'd envisioned combat simulations, limit testing battles, rescue simulations, and so on but for the most part it had all been regular mundane classes. He'd done more math and English practice than any other thing in class.

"Alright. Pencils down." Vlad ordered from the front of the class. Naruto blinked and looked down at his mostly completed sheet and glanced back up at the man. He'd gotten side tracked with his thoughts and had failed to bubble in the last three questions. Fortunately, they were pretty simple and as soon as their sensei looked away he quickly filled them in.

Feeling a tap on his back he quickly turned around and grabbed the papers, added his to the pile, and passed them forward.

"Now that that's been taken care of we can begin our heroics lesson for the day." Naruto mentally hoped what they'd said earlier was true and it wouldn't be anymore reading. Vlad clicked a button on a small controller and small access panels opened up along the walls to display silver cases.

"Your hero costumes were delivered and for the most part were accurate to how you decided to style them. Please note that if your costume is missing something you originally wanted, there will be a detailed letter in the case explaining why. Everyone grab the case that matches your desk number." He ordered.

Everyone stood up and began glancing through the rows of cases until they found their respective case. Naruto easily found case number fifteen and pulled it out of its slot. He made his way back to his desk and placed the case atop it before opening it.

Inside, neatly folded, was his hero costume. He gently lifted part of it to see if there was a letter inside but to his delight there wasn't. That meant that the people in charge found nothing wrong with his costume. Not that there was much that could be wrong, it looked more like another uniform than a flashy costume like everyone else's.

Once everyone was seated again Vlad clapped his hands once, getting the attention back on him.

"For today's exercise we're going to be doing a joint assignment with class 1-A."

That was surprising to say the least. If they were going to be doing an assignment with them, that meant he'd finally see Ochako. He had wondered how different her class was compared to his.

"We'll be doing 2 vs 2 matchups in which one team will be the villains and one will be the heroes. Now don't get too excited just yet…" He said, as he noticed the class begin to look at each other, trying to make their own teams. "I've already split you up into teams."

Naruto half paid attention as Vlad began calling out the pairs he'd set up. He was somewhat disappointed that Setsuna had been paired up with Honenuki. Not only had she basically become his best friend in the few weeks they'd been here but her quirk was powerful. They'd already gone over different ways that theirs could have been used in battle together.

"Uzumaki Naruto and Shiozaki Ibara" Vlad called. The green haired girl turned around in her seat to look at him and nodded at him once. Naruto remembered her, the vines that she had as her hair were able to stretch incredibly far, were durable, and she could command them at will. She was more suited for a support role as opposed to a front line fighter like himself. Perhaps she'd even excel in rescues if her hair was durable enough.

Vlad went on to list the rest of the teams and once finished he motioned for everyone to stand. "We'll be heading to ground beta for this exercise. Eraser and I will decide which teams will be posing as the heroes and which teams will be the villains. First, get changed into your hero costumes and meet outside, we'll be on our way shortly after."

Everyone went to their respective changing rooms in the building to get dressed. Most were excited to finally dawn their hero costumes, as it meant their dreams of being pros was finally starting to seem a little more real.

Naruto's hero costume wasn't as flashy as his classmates. His costume consisted of a black jacket created with a lightweight but durable nonflammable material with a single button on the left side of his chest. The jacket had a small solid white circle in the center with a larger white ring surrounding it. Two straight lines bisected both the large and small circle, creating what looked almost like a target on his chest. His pants were matching both in color and the material used to create it. Finally, he wore regular black shoes that were specially designed with a special metal at the bottom to protect him.

"Not very creative are you?" Naruto heard from his side as he stepped out of the men's dressing room.

"You're one to talk. Your costume is just as plain as mine." He shot back as he took in his friends appearance.

Setsuna's hero costume consisted of a purple full body suit that clung to her skin and had the pattern of small scales on it with a matching mask that covered the upper part of her face. She had a small black belt around her waist as well as black fingerless gloves and boots. On her wrists she had three tan rings that he wasn't sure what they were for.

Setsuna smirked at him "Nah, mine has scales that match my quirk whereas you've actually painted a target on your chest. What's that about anyway?" She asked as the two made their way to ground beta.

"It's just something I've drawn on stuff for years. I figured I would add it on. Besides this way when we're pro's, all the strong opponents we might face off against know who to come for." He reasoned to which she shook her head.

"You're the only person I know that thinks about fun rather than danger when discussing going pro."

The blond didn't have a chance to retort, not that she was wrong, as the class finally made it to the training ground. Eraserhead and his class were already there, all dawning their costumes as well, waiting for them.

Naruto quickly glanced at everyone in their class, making mental notes of any who stood out. Only five caught his attention. The first was his cousin Ochako, the second was a girl with a ponytail who he recognized from the recommendation exams. Yaoyorozu Momo, if he recalled correctly, he had to admit her hero costume was definitely one of his favorites for obvious reasons. The next three were a green haired boy who seemed like he was nervous about something, a blond haired boy who seemed angry for some reason and had grenades on his hands, and finally another he recognized.

Todoroki Shoto also from the entrance exams. Whereas Momo had been polite, Todoroki had been the definition of cold. The guy didn't speak to anyone and carried an air about him that greatly got on his nerves. He really hoped he'd be facing him.

Vlad King stood alongside Eraserhead and crossed his arms before looking at his fellow teacher.

Eraser took a step forward and looked over the two classes and sighed in exhaustion.

"As you already know this will be a joint exercise between our classes. The reason behind this is because while you already know your classmates' quirks, you most likely don't know the quirks of the other class. In the real world you don't have the luxury of knowing what the villain's quirk is or what its limitations are. You must be able to adapt on the fly and come up with a plan to defeat said villains." He explained.

Most everyone nodded in agreement. In a real situation no villain in their right mind would tell everyone what they were capable of and let you plan for it. Naruto only knew the quirks of three of the 1-A students but he was confident he could overcome anything they threw at him.

"Each team will be assigned a role once their turn arrives. If you're the hero team, your job is to touch the payload that the villain team will be hiding in one of the buildings. If you touch it, your team wins. However…" Vlad trailed off, having taken over for Eraser. "If the villain team manages to keep you at bay for more than fifteen minutes, they will be the winners."

All Might, who had shown up just as the man finished speaking, patted himself down and stood in front of them. "Statistically, most run-ins with villains occur indoors, which is why we're having the payload be in a building. Other than those two simple rules I will be in charge of making sure things don't get too out of hand. If I order you to stop, you stop. Is that understood?"

Though it sounded like a question, everyone knew that was an order. Class 1-A glanced at the blond haired kid, letting Naruto know he was probably one of the more violent or unhinged members of their class.

"Very well. Let's begin. The first team will be Uzumaki Naruto and Shiozaki Ibara who will be posing as the villains." All Might announced. Naruto didn't care much but Ibara seemed a little perturbed at the thought of playing a villainous role. "Head inside and follow the road, you'll be guided into the building containing the payload. Once inside the two of you can decide which part of the building you wish to hide it in."

"Their opponents will be Todoroki Shoto and Mineta Minoru who will be playing the heroes. Wait here until the buzzer sounds to begin. The rest of us will be watching from a separate facility until you've finished."

Naruto couldn't help but smile as he and his partner made their way to their 'base'. He couldn't believe he actually got Todoroki as his opponent. His quirk was strong for sure and being the son of Endeavor meant he had to be stronger than he let on at the exams. He could feel his blood pumping at the thought of their battle.

"It seems we have five stories to choose from to hide the payload." Ibara commented as she looked at the building that was to be their base. At the front was a regular looking man with a vest motioning them to enter. Naruto didn't recognize him but seeing as he had horns sticking out of his head he must have been part of the staff.

"Let's leave it on the third floor." Naruto said. "It doesn't really matter which one we put it on. The way Todoroki operates isn't like the others. He'll simply try and freeze everything and walk inside." That was how the young man had completed some of the trials they'd gone through during the exams. It seemed to be something he favored doing.

"So how do we stop him?" His partner wondered.

Naruto hummed as he made his way up the staircase with their payload floating behind him. "How far are you able to send your vines?"

"Far enough to cover the entire building, though if they're cut it will take a little for them to grow back."

Naruto nodded, he could work with that. "We'll watch from the window until they're outside. Once they are, capture Mineta with your vines and bring him inside. As long as he's restrained he won't be able to do anything."

"What will you be doing?" She asked.

"I'm going to enjoy myself." He answered cryptically.

The buzzer went off indicating that their match was starting and the two waited, glancing out the window to see when the heroes would be arriving. Naruto's prediction was spot on as the two were soon in viewing distance making their way towards the building.

Naruto tapped the windowsill twice and Ibara nodded. Her hair began growing, quickly making its way out of the room. The door down below was blasted open by the torrent of vines that approached the two students. As expected, Todoroki was quick to summon the ice to defend them from the assault. It did its job from the front but they'd failed to notice some vines had branched out and gone around.

"Ahhhh help me!" Mineta yelled as he was wrapped in Ibara's vines. Mineta's screams were silenced as the vines covered his mouth and dragged him into the building.

Ibara and Naruto looked to the door where the captured hero was just coming in.

"One down, one to go." Ibara commented. "What do we do about Todoroki? He'll be making his way in soon."

Naruto opened the window and floated forward until he was relatively close to the ice user who looked up at him. "Todoroki. I'll give you one chance. Just surrender and we'll hand back your teammate." He said, taking the role of the villain. That was on the outside however, inside he was hoping the teen would attack.

Todoroki didn't disappoint. His arm was quickly raised and Naruto knew the ice was coming.

"Insolence."

Just as the ice made its way towards him, it seemingly stopped in its tracks and fell downward, shattering upon impact. The gravity in front of him was so strong the ice might as well have been made of styrofoam.

Naruto was slightly impressed to see Todoroki still standing in place, though one could see he was struggling to stay upright. That was good, it meant he'd probably be able to keep up for a while, at least at this level of power.

"Oh? You refuse to grovel?" Naruto commented. Todoroki responded by straightening up and launching another wave of ice. Surprisingly, this time it didn't crack under the gravity in the area.

"Evil god's pressure craft." The blond called out. The ground beneath him rumbled and split open, four large boulders immediately rose up to his level. The rocks began crumbling and taking the shape of large spikes. A wave of his hand sent them directly into the path of the ice.

Naruto increased the weight of the stones with his gravity, making them have that much more force. Similar to last time, the ice was broken on impact and Todoroki was forced to dodge as the rocks tried to impale him.

"I know you're capable of more than this Todoroki." Naruto commented as he continued forcing him to back up.

He glanced back to see Ibara watching from the window, seeming content to be on standby. Manipulating the gravity around him he flew straight towards his opponent and lifted a finger, forcing a piece of rock to come up from the ground. As expected Todoroki jumped into the air only to find himself launched back down by a kick to his back.

The white haired boy bounced off the ground once and righted himself quickly. Naruto tilted his head slightly, letting a jagged piece of ice fly by his face. Moving his index finger on his right hand from left to right, Todoroki was forced to use his ice to propel himself out of the way of a large slab of concrete Naruto had sent his way.

He pointed up causing the ground to split open and a spike to impale the ice the boy was riding.

"Tsk." Naruto kissed his teeth in annoyance. This was beginning to bore him. "I know you also have a fire quirk Todoroki!" He yelled as he continued moving his fingers side to side, up and down. The dual quirk student had some slight ice buildup on one side of his body, the side effects from continuous use finally beginning to show.

"If you don't use it you'll never get past me." Todoroki didn't take the bait, instead he sent off the largest wave of ice he'd used since the beginning of the match by waving his hand forward. Naruto stood still in the air as the ice approached him and let it consume him.

From inside the ice prison he could see his opponent breathing heavily, his breath clearly visible with each exhale. Naruto waited until he approached to act. Once he was close enough the ice began to crack as the blond focused the gravity around the ice. Soon, the ice prison was gone, and small pieces of ice rained down over the two.

Todoroki tried to create space between them but fatigue played its part and he wasn't quick enough to fight back against the gravity in the area seemingly pulling him in every direction. Naruto had his right hand up with his palm facing Endeavor's son.

"It's no use struggling, you wouldn't be able to resist this much even if you were fresh, much less now that you're exhausted." Naruto commented as he forced him to float over to him.

Todoroki stood frozen in mid air, none of his limbs able to move. The only action he could perform was to glare defiantly at the blond.

"Heavy Infighting" Naruto said as he adjusted the gravity accordingly. Suddenly, he began rapidly punching at the defenceless 1-A student. To Ibara, Mineta, Todoroki, and everyone watching, the punches looked like blurs. The gravity around his arms was reduced to increase his speed while the gravity on his fists was increased pack more of a punch. Todoroki's head swayed side to side with each hit and his clothing constantly shifted due to punches to his midsection.

After a few seconds of the onslaught Naruto stopped and cancelled the technique. The gravity around them went back to normal and the two plummeted back down. Naruto easily landed on his feet, hands in his pockets while Todoroki hit the ground on his side.

"I was kind of excited at the thought of battling against you but you've disappointed me. That was more boring than our entrance exam." Naruto said in a frustrated tone as he ran a hand through his hair.

[Buzz]

"Fifteen minutes have passed. The villain team wins." All Might's voice resonated throughout the area. In mere seconds Recovery Girl was on the scene looking over the downed student. Likewise Mineta, who'd been let go, and Ibara also made their way over.

Recovery Girl told them they were good to go since they hadn't been touched but insisted on looking over Mineta due to how long he was binded.

"Presence of the Demon King and Evil God's pressure craft?" Ibara asked with her hands in a praying position as they walked.

Naruto raised an eyebrow wondering why she'd brought up the names of his techniques.

"I truly hope the fires of hell will relieve you of your sins." She said in her calm voice.

"What?"

Once the two arrived back at the entrance, they were led to the observation room while the next two teams went up. This went on for the next hour or so as some matches finished much faster than others. He didn't pay attention to all of them, only the ones with people of interest.

Setsuna and Honenuki had won their battle easily enough. Setsuna being able to split herself into pieces and float around had given them the advantage. She simply detached her hand while Honenuki acted as a diversion and easily touched the payload.

Ochako had been partnered up with the green haired boy he'd seen earlier, Midoriya Izuku. The boy had promise, that is, if he could keep himself from breaking a bone every time he used his quirk. He had been really impressed by Ochako's use of her quirk though, her creativity with it had led to them being able to touch the payload and winning the battle.

It seemed her weight limit had also increased as well. She'd come a long way from the days when she couldn't lift anything more than 50lbs.

"Ochako congrats on the win!" He called out to her as she re entered the room with her partner.

"Thank you." She said briefly before turning to one of her friends. The boy looked at her and then him with a confused look but turned away from him soon after.

Setsuna, who'd been standing next to him, whistled softly. "Pretty cold of her."

"Yeah. She's nice when her family comes over but outside of that it's like this. Maybe I did something?" He wondered out loud.

"You said she's your cousin right? I'm sure she'll come around. Anyways, are you ready for the exam we have coming up?"

Naruto blinked. "We have an exam?"

Setsuna pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation. "Seriously, if it's not something you deem fun you don't listen do you? How you've passed every quiz is beyond me."

"It's not like what we're learning is difficult, just boring. I don't like it but I still do it." He said defending himself as he crossed his arms.

Setsuna couldn't deny that. His grade so far spoke for itself. "Whatever, anyway I'm having trouble with the math problems we've been giving lately. How about a study session?" She asked, sounding as casual as she could.

"Yeah that sounds good. My house is close by if that's ok with you."

"Perfect. I'll text you what day works." She said. The two stopped their conversation as the screen flashed with a bright light courtesy of the blond guy that Naruto had seen earlier.

His quirk was simple enough, explosions. He was a hothead but calculated his moves well and it was clear he'd practiced with it for a long time. He was able to change trajectory in mid air and even got creative with how he used it. After the disappointment that was Todoroki, he hoped he'd get to face both him and Midoriya if he could learn to control his power better.

Once everyone had gone, All Might had gone over everyone's battles and gave them pointers on where to improve and what could have been done differently to lead them to victory. They'd been instructed to change back into their regular school uniforms and head back to their respective classes.

An hour after all the students had gone home for the day All Might, Eraserhead, and Vlad King had been summoned by Nezu to his office.

The small rodent was drinking a cup of coffee as he observed the three teachers in front of him. "I apologize for making you stay later than necessary but I did want to discuss something important with you all." He began. Nezu clicked a button on a remote control and turned on the tv off to the side.

"I understand your classes had a joint exercise today. I went over the footage and while I do see a lot of potential I also see a cause for concern." Another click showed the video of Naruto vs Todoroki taken from the security cameras on an adjacent building.

"You all noticed it I'm sure?" He asked once the fight had finished. All three men nodded at the same time.

Eraserhead was the first to speak. "He had multiple chances to subdue Todoroki and win the battle but deliberately never seized him."

"After that first kick he could've used his gravitational powers to capture him but instead tried to goad him into using his fire quirk." Vlad commented.

All Might frowned and added his thoughts as well. "Young Uzumaki let opportunities for victory pass in the hope that Todoroki would fight back with everything he had. If this were a real situation that could lead to more destruction or even death of civilians."

Nezu nodded at their observations and pulled out the same document they all signed when they applied to the school.

"Under 'why do you want to be a hero?' He wrote 'To satisfy my interests'." Nezu explained. "What we can gather from this and the video we've seen is that young Uzumaki displays clear hedonistic traits. In this case he wanted to enjoy himself by fighting someone he saw as strong."

"You wish for us to speak with him?" All Might asked. To their surprise Nezu shook his head.

After taking another sip Nezu responded. "Not outright no. His fathers death must have caused more psychological damage than his mother had thought. Coupled with the fact that Kushina didn't stop her hero work after her husband's death meant that Naruto was alone for extended periods of time.

Not to say she abandoned him or anything of the sort, but having a parent die and then being by yourself is bound to have negative effects. That's when I suspect his hedonistic tendencies began to take root. Psychologically, the aim of hedonism is to increase one's pleasure as much as possible while decreasing pain." Nezu explained.

"So what do you suggest?" Vlad asked.

"We'll have to correct his views slowly over time. Depending on how deeply rooted his issues are, saying the wrong thing could prove disastrous." The mouse responded.

"You're saying he could be swayed to villainy if it proves to be more 'fun'?" Eraser asked.

"I don't believe he'll ever be swayed to villainy considering his father was killed by a villain, but it's better to be on the side of caution. Anyways I've taken up enough of your time, remember what we've discussed. I think the USJ will be the perfect place to see just what kind of person he is when put under extreme situations."
