Yo. Here's another chapter of Gravity Hero that I managed to scrape together. Next two weeks are gonna be a bit hectic bc of school so don't expect an update except for the Hunter x Hunter story since the chapter is pre written.
Some of you guys expressed concern about his lack of downside to his quirk because it didn't show against Todoroki. Well, he's stronger than he is so he wouldn't be pushed to a point where they'd show. In this chapter though, you'll see him battle with someone and will see some of the drawbacks of his quirk.
Anyways feel free to pull up to the server to have some fun, talk about fics, life, or just hang out with some chill people. Link is:

"Naruto there's someone at the door!" The blond heard his mother shout from down stairs. If she couldn't get it herself that meant she was working on some new device for someone or some company. His eyes widened quickly when he realized what time it was and who was at the door. It could only be Setsuna as they'd agreed a few days ago that today would be when they would study for their upcoming test.
He wasn't much of a studier, most of the material was usually common sense or a basic formula to be memorized but she was insistent on it, and thus they agreed on meeting today. Unfortunately, it slipped his mind and because of that, he now found himself quickly tidying up the room. Shoes were kicked under the bed, clothes into a hamper thrown into a closet, and gaming controls neatly placed on top of his furniture.
Normally the only people that came over were Ochako and her family so he never bothered cleaning up but now he was entertaining a lady. If his mom found out he left his room a mess with other company she'd kill him. Throwing on some jeans and a T-shirt instead of his shorts and tank top he headed down the stairs. Pulling the door open he saw Setsuna dressed in her casual clothes which consisted of some short blue jean shorts, a white T-shirt, and some white low top shoes.
"What's up?" She asked, shooting him a grin.
"Nothing much. Got your notes?" He asked. She nodded and moved aside to show the bag attached to her back. "Alright. Let's head up, we got some time before some of my family comes over. I wasn't expecting them today. I just heard a little while ago they'd be coming." He apologized.
The green haired young woman shook her head. "No big deal."
"Who was at the door?" The pair heard as they were ascending the stairs. "Is your uncle here already?" Kushina asked as she made her way towards them
"Not exactly." He responded simply, trying to continue making his way up the stairs only to be stopped again by his mom speaking.
"Hold it." She ordered. "Who's your friend?" She asked.
Setsuna stood up straighter when she saw who was addressing her. "Good afternoon ma'am. Setsuna Tokage. I'm one of your son's classmates." She greeted with a bow.
Kushina looked the young woman up and down once quickly and took note of a few things. First, the green haired woman was quite the beauty if she was being honest. Second was just how close the woman was standing next to her son. They were close enough that their hips were practically touching. While Naruto didn't seem to mind, she could see what the blond couldn't. Setsuna clearly had an attraction to her son and was making her intentions known, known to everyone minus Naruto that is.
Setsuna looked back at her with a wide smile, knowing that Kushina knew.
"A pleasure." She replied in a slightly dry tone. If that did anything to throw the younger woman off, it didn't show. "What brings you here today?" She prodded.
"Just gonna study a little bit for a test we have coming up soon. I need a little help with my English so I asked for help. Luckily he was kind enough to say yes and invite me over." Setsuna replied smoothly in a calm tone.
The former number five hero stared back at the two students with a calm facade for a moment before asking another question. "If you don't mind me asking, what's your quirk?"
"Mom, we really need to get started. I don't know how long she has until she has to go home." Naruto said, starting to feel a little uncomfortable by his mom's unusual behavior.
Setsuna looked at him briefly and waved him off. "I don't mind. I don't have anything to do today." She said before looking back at Naruto's mom. "I call it Lizard Tail Splitter." She replied as she disconnected one of her hands from her arm and disconnected her upper body at the waist to float slightly.
Even though she wasn't in the hero game anymore, her mind instantly began thinking of the multiple scenarios that such a quirk could be useful in. Shaking her head of those thoughts she nodded and turned around, wanting to get back to work. Before Naruto and Setsuna could make it to the stairs though she left them with one last thing.
"Make sure your door stays open." She said, not bothering to turn around and made her way back to her work.
Naruto palmed his face in obvious embarrassment much to the amusement of his classmate who followed him up the stairs.
"Don't worry, my dad is like that to any guy he sees me talking to in public. He'll go all super protective to try and scare them." She said, trying to calm him down.
Finally, they made it to his room and after a quick trip down stairs to get another chair, the two sat together in front of his small desk and began going over the material. For the next hour or so the pair could be heard going over different sentences in the foreign language with Naruto correcting her any time something was off. Let it be known that while he was all about having fun, he was also incredibly smart academically.
"Mind if we take a break?" Setsuna asked as she leaned back in her chair. This was not going how she had envisioned in her head at all. There was more real studying than getting to know him going on.
"Sure. I could use a moment to relax too." Naruto responded. He glanced at the clock again and frowned. "Huh, I thought they would've been here by now." He muttered loud enough that Setsuna managed to overhear him.
"Oh your family is supposed to come over right?" She asked.
Naruto nodded. "Yeah. Ochako and her family are supposed to come over today to talk to my mom."
The mention of the brown haired girl brought forward a memory for Setsuna. Specifically the time after their joint training exercise where her friend was given the cold shoulder. "Speaking of that, what's up with the cold treatment?" She asked, genuinely curious.
Naruto sighed. "I'm not sure. She's been like that for the past couple years. I'm not sure if I did something to upset her, she says no and is nice enough around here but I'm not sure."
"Is there anything you can remember happening in the past that could have made her act that way? She's nice to her classmates. Even that one guy next to her was shocked by her behavior from what I saw." Setsuna responded.
The blond hummed trying to recall a time that he might have pissed her off but came up empty.
Setsuna saw the look on his face, knowing he was clearly bothered by the cold treatment and was going to try and cheer him up but was stopped by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Naruto made to stand but was beaten to the punch as he heard the door open and soon the sounds of people speaking reached his ears.
"They're here."
"Want to go greet them?" She asked.
The blond shook his head no. "By now they're probably already heading down stairs to talk to my mom and Ochako will be up here any moment now."
Setsuna mentally cursed when she heard soft footsteps making her way up the stairs. She'd planned on using this time to try and get closer to her classmate and could see her plan going up in smoke.
A short moment later, her fellow hero course student knocked on the open door and walked in.
"Hey." She greeted Naruto upon entry. Her eyes then moved over to Setsuna and she stood up a little more straight. "Oh you're the girl from class 1-B with the quirk that lets you split yourself right?" She asked rhetorically. "Uraraka Ochako. Nice to meet you." She added with a slight bow.
Setsuna had to stop her eyebrows from raising at the display. After what she'd seen, seeing her this bright and friendly threw her off slightly. Still, there was no reason for her to not be cordial to her friend's cousin. Standing up and returning the bow, she spoke.
"Setsuna Tokage, likewise. Also, yes that was me." She said, confirming the other woman's thoughts.
Ochako glanced at the desk and noticed the papers scattered all over the desktop and her eyes widened slightly. "Oh are you guys studying for the exams coming up?" She asked. "We have those too, do you mind if I join you guys?" She pleaded.
The two 1-B students shared a look and shrugged at the same time. Naruto brought her another chair and they continued the session for the next hour and a half. Throughout the session, the green haired girl managed to hold friendly conversation with the brown haired girl and found that she was actually pretty funny and easy going, just like her. Which made her all the more curious about her 'school personality'.
It wasn't until Naruto got up saying he needed to use the restroom that the two women found themselves alone together. Setsuna was a curious and outspoken person altogether so she had no problem breaking the silence after a minute or so.
"Uraraka." She called out. The young woman in question looked up from her sheet of paper and tilted her head slightly in question. "Do you mind if I ask you something?"
Uraraka smiled and nodded.
"You're a pretty easy going girl, and it's been pretty fun hanging out even if we are just studying so I have to ask. What was the reaction at school when Uzumaki congratulated you on your win?" She asked in a blunt but non aggressive manner.
Ochako looked taken aback by the question and stumbled on her words, trying to piece together how to respond.
"It bugs him, you know." She continued. "He thinks he did something to upset you and can't figure out what. So what exactly did he do?"
The two women locked eyes for a moment before Ochako sighed and slumped her shoulders. "Did he tell you about my quirk?" She asked.
Setsuna shook her head no. Ochako leaned back and motioned her to do the same. With a simple touch to the desk it began to float a few inches in the air before coming back down once the woman touched all ten fingers together and released the command.
"So you have a gravity quirk too?" Setsuna asked. "I'm not following."
Ochako let a small bitter smile appear on her face for a moment. "We both have gravity based quirks but his is much stronger. I struggle with mine while his has almost no drawbacks, at least none that I've seen. Since we unlocked our quirks I've always been compared to him and fail to measure up.
Everyone we met in school would quietly comment on how his quirk was everything mine wasn't. I got compared to him day in and day out. Do you know what it feels like to constantly be looked down on by everyone around you?" She asked. "Knowing that my achievements only last a single moment before they're overshadowed by my cousin who doesn't even seem to try. He's just good at everything." She vented.
Setsuna couldn't help but feel a little sympathy for the girl and placed a hand atop hers, which at some point had curled up into a fist. While she couldn't relate to what she was describing, she could only imagine what it must feel like.
"Hey. Take a deep breath okay?" She instructed calmly.
After composing herself she continued. "The worst part is, he's not a bad person. He checks up on me, congratulates me on all my achievements, his family helps mine when we need it. I feel bad about how I act around him in public but I can't go another three years living in his shadow. Not at UA."
Setsuna was about to respond when the sound of footsteps making their way towards them alerted them that Naruto was returning.
Ochako turned to Setsuna but didn't get the chance to speak as the green haired girl beat her to it. "I won't tell him what you told me, but maybe you should talk to him about it. I'm sure he'd be willing to do anything to have a good relationship with you." She said before the blond made his way into the room.
"Alright, are you guys ready to continue?" He asked. The blond looked at his classmate who was resting her elbow on the table and her head on her palm before looking at his cousin who stared at her paper with a pensive look on her face. "Did I miss something?"
Setsuna smirked at him and shook her head. "Nope."
Naruto narrowed his eyes at her for a moment, despite only knowing each other for a relatively short amount of time he could tell she was lying. Glancing at Uraraka, she too smiled at him and shook her head no. He stared at them for a moment longer before sighing and sitting back down to continue.
Another hour passed before Uraraka's family called out to her and let her know they were leaving. The trio decided this would be the best moment to call it a day, at least for studying. Setsuna tapped her chin in thought, wondering how else to salvage her plan when it hit her. The blond hadn't realized that she'd wanted it to be just them two for this despite her terrible attempt at sounding nonchalant.
"Hey. Wanna get something to eat? All that studying made me hungry." Setsuna offered boldly. If subtlety wouldn't do the trick, then boldness would.
Naruto blinked once, processed the offer and nodded. "Yeah that sounds good. Wanna leave your stuff here?"
The woman pondered it for a moment but ultimately chose against it. "Nah, I'll probably head home after that. Just because my parents don't mind me being out late doesn't mean I can just be gone all day."
As they made their way downstairs Naruto shouted down to his mom letting her know he'd be going out. Kushina stuck her head out the door leading to her workshop and asked the typical parent questions such as 'where are you going?' and 'What time will you be back?'
"Gonna grab a bite that's all."
Kushina looked at him and then Setsuna followed by a peek out the window. The sun was still out but would be setting quite soon.
"Will Setsuna be heading home or are you guys coming back?" She asked.
The woman in question shook her head. "No, I'll be going home. Don't want my parents to worry or anything."
Naruto's mother nodded and gave him a pointed look. "Be sure to walk her home and wait until she heads inside." She ordered. Despite her earlier overprotectiveness and admittedly cold attitude towards the girl, she wouldn't want anything bad to happen to her on her way home. She remembered when she was young the stories about young women being targeted at night and if she could prevent something like that happening, she would.
"Also. Stop by Gang Orca's hero agency and drop this off for him please." She said before heading to her workshop and bringing back a small black box. "It's for one of his sidekicks. I'll call and let him know you'll be there sometime in the next hour and a half. That should be enough time for you two no?"
The two nodded. After taking the box the blond opened the door and closed it behind them once. A short walk to the train station and a few stops later the two made it to a small stand with some stools lined up in front of a bar. The selection was mostly noodles with a few rice dishes and some karaage. The chef working the kitchen took their orders and within ten minutes had their dishes prepared and served in front of them.
"So apart from all the regular school stuff, how are you liking UA?" Naruto asked. "Is it what you imagined it would be?"
Setsuna took a bite of her food, closing her eyes momentarily as the flavors assaulted her taste buds. When the small moment of euphoria ended she turned her attention fully onto him. "Partially. I entered through recommendations too so I had a decent idea of what to expect. I'll admit I expected a little...more but can't complain so far." She replied before taking another bite.
She then smirked at him and added "I think the most exciting thing that's happened so far was being forced to the ground by some blond with a gravity quirk." She teased, only for her face to heat up when she realized what her words sounded like. She hoped it went over his head but if the smirk and raised eyebrow being sent her way was any indication, it didn't.
Giving him a light punch on the arm she added. "Not like whatever you're thinking."
"I didn't say anything." He said with a shit eating grin.
"I can see it written all over your face." She shot back and took a bite of her food.
Naruto chuckled lightly and got himself under control. "I did say I was sorry about that."
"Whatever. Anyway, yeah overall I'm enjoying it. What about you?" She asked curiously.
Naruto took a moment to ponder the question. He took another bite of his food, noting how his companion hadn't taken her eyes off him, still waiting for his answer. "It's alright. The only reason I applied was because my mom said it would be beneficial for me and it would be fun. The way she described it sounded amazing but apart from making a few friends in you and the others, it's been a little bit of a let down. I'm sure it'll pick up soon though once we really get to the heroics." He answered honestly.
Setsuna smiled and shook her head at his response. She should've guessed he was in it for fun. That was the one thing she'd noticed about her blond friend, most of what he did, he did it simply to enjoy himself. "So you consider tutoring one of your friends fun?" She asked.
"No. But you made it pretty fun so I enjoyed it. Honestly if it was anyone else I'd have probably found a way to weasel out of it." He answered honestly. Setsuna could feel her face warm up at the smooth compliment. If she wasn't so sure he was just being honest she would've said he was flirting with her. Her eye picked up movement from in front of them and became slightly more embarrassed when she noticed that the chef had an impressed look on his face, having clearly heard the blond. The man looked at her and shot her a thumbs up before disappearing.
Naruto noticed her lack of response and tilted his head in confusion. "Are you ok?"
She nodded and ate her food without responding. Fortunately she managed to get herself back together and continue chatting with him about anything and everything. They even came up with ideas on combination moves with their quirks should they ever be partnered up together. Once their plates were clean and the tab was paid, Naruto walked her home as promised.
Just as his mom had ordered, he waited until Setsuna opened her door and walked inside. Once she was gone he looked down at the small package in his hand and made his way to the Orca agency to deliver whatever support item his mom had been contracted to make.
The trek over didn't take long from where he was and soon he found himself entering the rather large building. All around him men and women dressed in various hero costumes as well as some in black body suits with tan accents. Despite knowing Gang Orca due to his parents working with him years ago, this was the first time he'd visited the man's agency.
Walking through the busy room he glanced around until he found a large door near the far side of the room that had a golden plaque that read 'Gang Orca'.
Seeing as the lady at the front desk was on a phone call he made his way over to the door and knocked a couple of times.
'Damn he's got heavy steps.' Naruto thought to himself as he felt the ground shake ever so slightly when the man made his way towards the door. The door opened revealing the large orca-like man wearing a nice white suit.
"Naruto." The man greeted in a calm tone with an accompanying head nod. "What brings you here?"
The blond held up the box. "My mom told me you were expecting this for one of your sidekicks" He said.
Orca's eyes lit up and he quickly took the box to peek inside. "Amazing. I barely told her about this a few days ago. We're lucky she turned to support items after retiring from heroics. The amount of heroes she's helped is insane." He praised.
The orca-like man picked up the phone on his desk and called someone in the lobby to come pick up the item. Almost instantly one of the heroes he didn't recognize entered the room and took the item from inside the box with a large smile on his face.
"So soon?" he asked his boss. Orca simply nodded and motioned for the man to take the item and leave.
"It's been a while since I last saw you. How's UA treating you?" He asked as he sat back down in his chair.
Taking a seat in one of the three chairs that sat across from the man's desk, Naruto crossed one leg above the other and leaned back. "It's alright. Nothing special."
That caught the man's interest. Most aspiring heroes dreamed of making it into UA as it was known as the best hero school around. Both of his parents attended UA when they were younger and from the stories he was told, they enjoyed every minute of it. For Naruto to seemingly wave it off as if it was a local general education school piqued his interest.
"Really? There's nothing that you enjoyed?" Orca pressed on.
Naruto tilted his head back slightly and thought about the rather limited time he's spent in the school. "Well, I have made a few friends." As he said this, an image of some of the 1-B students flashed through his mind with Setsuna being the first. "I did manage to fight Todoroki during a joint exercise between our classes but that ended up being a disappointment."
Now Orca was really interested. He'd seen Endeavor's son and knew of the raw power the young man possessed. Most people who saw him in action wouldn't use the word disappointed when giving their thoughts about him.
"How so?" He asked curiously.
"He limited himself to only using his ice. Even after seeing that it would have no effect on me he continued to try it. I tried to get him to use his fire, hoping he'd be able to entertain me but in the end he refused and I beat him down until the timer ran out." He replied in a slightly annoyed tone. Thinking back to that match still disappointed him.
"I bet Yoarashi is having a blast over at Shiketsu." He muttered to himself.
Orca hummed at the response and stared at the young man for a moment until an idea came to him. "I'm actually curious as to how powerful you've become that UA is seemingly boring to you." He began. "I know all heroes are slightly nervous about heroics courses when they first start but you seem to be an outlier. Then there's you calling Endeavor's son a disappointment."
"So how do you plan on measuring that?" Naruto asked, slightly curious as to what his parent's friend had in mind.
"You're clearly able to battle with those in your age range, but what about a pro?" Orca asked, standing up as he did so.
Naruto raised an eyebrow and couldn't stop the smile from forming on his face. Was he proposing what he thought he was?
"I can see you know where I'm going. Let's head to the training facility and see what you're made of. It's boring now but the lessons UA will teach you will prepare you for all sorts of situations. Natural disasters, search and rescue, and even fighting against people more powerful and experienced than you." He said, leading him out of the room.
Naruto could feel his blood pumping in excitement. He'd seen footage of plenty of pro heroes online, Orca being one of them. The man was strong, fast, and smart. This feeling he was getting was exactly what he hopes UA will eventually provide for him. If not, it'll be an agonizing next three years.
The two arrived at a set of large metal doors and after receiving clearance to enter, Naruto followed the man to the center of the room. All around them small time heroes were either sparring with each other or working on improving their quirks in some way shape or form. Everyone stopped what they were doing when Orca clapped his hands twice.
"I apologize for having to interrupt your training but if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to test out one of UA's top students." Murmurs began going around the training grounds and all eyes fell on him. "Those of you who wish to remain may do so, those who don't are free to return in half an hour if you wish to continue your training."
Unsurprisingly, no one left. Instead everyone headed to the stairways that lead to large rooms two stories above them, watching from behind reinforced glass. Whether they were there to see Orca or him in action was unknown to him.
The pro hero turned to him and loosened up his tie while speaking. "Ok Naruto it's simple. We'll spar for the next half hour. Your objective is to injure me once before time runs out. We'll both be free to use our quirks but I have the right to stop the spar at any time if I deem it necessary. Understood?"
Naruto nodded and began stretching slightly.
Orca smirked and followed his lead. "Who knows, if you impress me here and at the sports festival, I might offer you an internship or a spot at my agency after you graduate."
Now it was Naruto's time to smirk. "Sorry to burst your bubble but I plan on creating my own once I graduate."
Orca didn't respond and instead created space between them and got ready. Naruto likewise began to float a few inches off the ground and waited for the signal to begin.
The sound of a large blast was heard and the match began. In an instant, Gang Orca closed the distance between them and had a large hand coming down at the blond intending to end the match. Naruto's reflexes weren't so slow that he didn't see the man's attack though and jumped off to the side to avoid the blow.
The ground where he previously stood cracked due to the force of the attack.
'Damn. There's nothing I can use around here as a weapon.' Naruto thought to himself, looking around to see if there were items he could reshape. He didn't have much time to think as a large blast of sound waves quickly made their way towards him.
Manipulating the gravity around him, he took to the air and instantly had to maneuver to the side to avoid another one. The thick concrete walls cracked slightly under the pressure of the waves and in the time it took him to look back at the damage, Orca was on him. Crossing his arms to defend himself, he took a punch head on, causing him to plumet back down to the ground.
Naruto managed to right himself just before landing and jump back to avoid the followup attack the man tried.
'How is someone his size this fast?' Naruto thought in slight shock. It was one thing to see him fight on TV but another beast entirely facing off against him.
"Presence of the Demon king" He said in a low tone when he saw the hypersonic waves coming at him once more. The gravity around him multiplied, causing further damage to the ground below them. To his surprise though, he was forced to fly out of the way when the waves continued their path.
He was quick to land and duck under a kick from the large man. Adjusting the gravity around his fists he countered, barraging the man with a flurry of enhanced punches. Gang Orca wasn't in the top ten for no reason however and expertly weaved through the punches he could and parried those he had to.
Seeing as that wasn't working, he decreased the gravity around the man before quickly doubling it. The momentary shift in his balance was enough for him to find an opening in his defense and landed two strong punches to the chest followed by a spin kick. The man had managed to pull himself together after the punches and brought his hands up to block the kick at the last second.
His shoes almost dug into the ground as the force of the gravity enhanced kick sent him crashing into the far wall of the training room. Those gathered looked on in slight shock and awe that a first year hero in training was able to do this much against one of the physically strongest heroes in the game.
The blond took a few deep breaths and smirked. "Did I pass?" He asked.
Orca pulled himself out and dusted himself off before shaking his head. "I told you your objective was to injure me. I'd hardly call these minor scratches an injury." He replied. Sure enough, while he had minor scratches and some tears in his shirt he looked mostly intact.
Naruto frowned as he stared at the hero before noticing some rubble behind the man from where he'd crashed into the wall and where his sound waves had collided earlier. An idea formed in his mind and he quickly acted on it.
He waved his hand in front of him, willing the rubble to head towards the hero from above. Orca wasn't fazed and simply used his sound waves to force them away. He didn't miss that the man had to tilt his head in the direction he wanted before firing and that would be the key to victory.
The waves were focused upwards and before they could die down, he moved. Orca noticed his movement and cancelled his technique just as Naruto got close. Naruto pulled his arm back for a punch but just before he extended his fist he increased the gravity around them once more.
"30%. Presence of the Demon King." He called out. The rubble that Orca had just sent outwards once again came at him, this time at much faster speeds due to the stronger gravitational field. One bit of rock was forced aside however and made its way towards the blond.
'Evil God's pressure craft' He thought as he forced the rock into the shape of a katana. Just after Orca destroyed the rubble above them he was forced to duck and dodge the slashes Naruto began sending his way.
"Well done." Orca complimented while dodging. "After playing one hand you need to already be planning the next. So what will you do now?" He asked, pointing his head toward him. Naruto knew what was coming and his body began to glow a dark purple.
"40%." He called out just as the hypersonic waves made their way towards him. The area around them took on a slightly purple tint but it paid off. The sound waves disbursed moments before they would reach him but it wasn't without cost.
At 40% he could feel his body begin to feel the strain of his power output. He could feel his bones begin to rattle and a slight ringing in his ears after a few seconds of maintaining that level. This wasn't something Orca missed, and the man capitalized on it. He dashed forward once the gravity leveled out, intending to end the match with a strong punch.
To everyone's surprise though, Naruto managed to take to the air just as Orca punched the space where he'd been standing. He was visibly panting now, that last move taking more out of him than he liked.
'If his attacks were normal solids like Todoroki's ice, 20% would have been enough.' Naruto thought as he looked down at the hero. 'My body is still shaking, I have to end this somehow.'
"You're running out of time." Orca called out looking up at him. "You've done well up until now, much better than I could've anticipated but you've yet to injure me."
Naruto grit his teeth in slight anger knowing that while he had landed a few good hits, he still hadn't actually injured him. Orca's punch that he'd blocked with his forearms had managed to bruise him and turn the part that took the blow slightly purple. All he had going for him was the few scratches and the man-shaped dent in the wall.
"You want an injury, I'll give you an injury." He promised. Holding his arms out in front of him he focused all his energy into the space between his hands.
"Gravity Singularity." He called out. A completely black orb began to form before growing larger in size rapidly.
Gang Orca looked on at the attack with both curiosity and caution but his attention was soon diverted to the user himself. His eyes widened when he saw the boy's nose begin to bleed from both nostrils and a bit from the corner of his mouth. While he could attribute that to some of the damage he might have taken, the nosebleed was his main concern.
"Enough." He called out. Naruto cancelled the attack and slowly made his way back to the ground. Orca motioned everyone to return and even had some of the on sight medical team approach them.
"You did well Naruto. Let the medics take a look at you and then come back to my office so we can talk about the spar. There are a few things I'd like to discuss."
Naruto nodded and followed the two medical professionals out of the room. Some of the heroes that were filing back in looked at him with something akin to wonder. A few of them even nodded and patted his shoulders, giving him a quick 'not bad' or 'impressive' as they passed him.
It took them about half an hour to patch him up where necessary and heal his arms where he'd taken the brunt of Orca's raw power. Once cleared to leave he made his way back to the man's office, though not before messaging his mom to let her know he'd be home soon. The last thing he needed was her worrying and looking for him.
Entering the office he noticed that the hero had changed clothes into another suit. "I'll admit. I was very impressed with your performance but I do have a few things I'd like you to know."
Naruto nodded at him to continue, wondering what he'd taken away from this.
"You're powerful, incredibly so. It's no wonder that you were able to handle Todoroki. However, while your quirk gives you amazing strength, it also has weaknesses. One that if you're not careful, could leave you as a liability to any team you're on or present a villain with a chance to take you out." He lectured.
"At 40% of your output your body began to feel the effects and it showed. I saw you shaking slightly and your reaction time slowed by a small fraction. I believe that's something more physical exercise and simply letting your body mature will fix though. Another thing, that last technique. "Gravity Singularity. By the name itself would it be safe to assume that it simply destroys what it touches?" He asked.
"That would be correct."
"I thought as much. Do you always bleed when trying the technique?"
Naruto shook his head. "No, usually I just feel a lot of pressure but I think the side effects of using 40% might have caused it."
Orca nodded. "I'll leave you with some advice. Use your time at UA wisely and take full advantage of all of the services provided for you. I can only imagine what you'll be capable of at 100% power output. Work on your control so that when the time to work alongside other heroes comes, they don't end up accidentally affected by the area of effect of your gravity." He said before his face turned deadly serious.
"Finally, do not use that singularity technique against your classmates. I have no doubt that if the Hero Public Safety Commission learns of it, it'll either be banned or heavily restricted due to the fact that it can be classified as an instant kill technique. It's an accepted fact that there are situations where heroes are forced to kill, so only as an absolute last resort against a threat to you or your loved ones should you use something like that. Understood?" He asked.
Naruto nodded. That technique was far from being finished at the moment so he had no intention of using it at school. That one had always been finicky and he planned on asking for help from the pros when the time came. At least he had two other high power techniques he could rely on in the case of an emergency.
"Good. Now head back home. I'm sure Kushina is worried by now." Naruto chuckled and nodded at the man's words.
"That's true. Well, thanks for the spar. That's some of the most fun I've had in a while." Bowing to the man he made his way out and headed home. As he walked to the train station he looked at his still slightly bruised arms and shook his head. That battle had taught him something. He needed to get stronger. He was certain that if he didn't have hypersonic waves, he would have won but that wasn't the case.
His quirk was a good matchup against his and it had forced him to use the largest output he could handle. Everyone ranted and raved about how UA created the best and strongest heroes. Well, he'd be using everything they had to offer in order to get stronger. Next time he fought Orca, he vowed to be able to fight and beat him at less than 40%.
He paused for a moment. That was probably the first time he made a goal that wasn't around having fun. A smirk appeared on his face as the thought of a certain green haired girl popped in his mind. "Looks like not everything I do is just for fun." He said to himself.
Once he made it home he hit the shower and changed into some comfortable clothes for the rest of the day. Laying down in bed he couldn't help but think that today had actually turned out to be pretty fun. He'd sparred with a top ten pro hero and done relatively well according to the man and had also spent a few fun hours with Setsuna.
That made him pause for a moment. He'd hung out with female friends before but they hadn't been as fun. Maybe it was because they had a similar sense of humor? Whatever it was he enjoyed it, and he found that he was actually looking forward to getting back to class tomorrow.
