(Atlas, Alsius Academy, 1 day after Robyn's Capture.)
Skyler looked over Mantle. He wondered if everyone in Atlas looked down on the small city. Nobody seemed to respect it enough to give it any amount of attention.
"General Ironwood wishes to see you and Major Xiao Long, sir." An Atlesian Soldier stated to Skyler. The Colonel nodded and walked out of his office.
"Maybe now that Robyn is captured this will change," Skyler said with annoyance. "I haven't heard anything from Dr. Pietro yet… We need the outer wall fixed. Mantle won't survive another wave of Grimm." Skyler stated to himself.
Skyler had spent until midnight speaking to every officer in Mantle. He had set up the emergency supplies to be shipped to Mantle instantly. Skyler also knew that the defenses of Mantle were as good as possible. Anything more and he'd risk even worse riots.
"Colonel." Skyler heard from one of the soldiers at the door. This snapped Skyler out of his stupor.
He heard footsteps behind him. Skyler turned to see Yang behind him. The Blonde Brawler frowned but said nothing. Skyler and Yang stood to each other while the door slowly hissed open.
General Ironwood stood with Winter and the Ace-Ops who stood at attention. Skyler and Yang walked until they were next to them.
Skyler chanced a glance at the others. The Ace-Ops stood as still as statues. Skyler would have thought them made of stone if not for the occasional blink.
Winter frowned, either unwilling or not wanting to meet his gaze. Skyler wondered if she kept any other secrets from him besides what Ironwood ordered her to.
He looked at Yang. She seemed to stare into space but even that failed as Yang would risk glances at him.
Before Skyler could say anything, Ironwood cleared his throat. Skyler looked at his uncle as the General looked at the assembled officers.
"Jacques Schnee asked me to speak at the Schnee Manor," Ironwood stated while tapping on a card. "He's convinced that I'm a threat to him. I want you to accompany me to the party." Ironwood was added which made Skyler slightly incensed.
'Of course, EVERYTHING comes down to the council.' Skyler thought to himself. He said nothing while Ironwood slid the card across the desk.
The piece of pink paper looked like someone had written it up with perfect penmanship. Skyler guessed that it hadn't been written by Jacques, it had probably been made by one of his workers.
"All of us?" Yang asked which made everyone besides Skyler turn to her. "Why do you need all of us there? What about Mantle?" Yang questioned Ironwood who raised an eyebrow.
Skyler hummed and allowed the faintest of smiles to pull at his lips. Ironwood tapped his fingers on the desk.
"We need to show Jacques that the Atlesian Military won't be bullied," Ironwood responded with a hum. "I'm sure you know how well projecting strength is," Ironwood added which made Skyler mentally sigh.
His uncle was an expert at military tactics. But it was clear his people skills only extended to talking about the military.
"What about the defenses of Mantle?" Skyler asked as he folded his hands behind him. "With Robyn captured, there's no longer any attacks on Mantle's convoys. Perhaps we could divert some supplies to them? Help them in case-…" Skyler put in.
Ironwood held up a hand, silencing his nephew before clearing his throat.
"We can talk about it after the meeting," Ironwood said which made Skyler narrow his eyes.
"Sir, I must…" Skyler started to put in only for Ironwood to rise from his desk. "Never mind," Skyler said and turned to walk away.
Ironwood watched Skyler walk to his office. Yang decided to excuse herself from the meeting as well. He turned to Winter who ended up clearing her throat.
"Colonel Azur is going to make a move soon." Winter put in which caused Ironwood to nod.
"Yes… I guess he will." Ironwood responded to Winter and turned to the window to think.
(In Skyler's office)
Skyler hummed and looked out the window. He heard footsteps behind him.
"You and your uncle are going to war." Yang put in which made him nod. "What about Mantle?" Yang questioned as Skyler turned back to her.
"I'm trying to think of that." Skyler put in as he rubbed at his temples. "Things are going to get much worse before they get better," Skyler added before sighing.
He cleared his throat and leaned on the window.
"I ordered the emergency supplies to be sent to Mantle," Skyler added and hummed. "Usually, they require the entire council to sign off on it… But considering how tomorrow is supposed to be an unofficial meeting for the council?" Skyler put in and smiled.
Yang nodded, already knowing what Skyler was planning. She walked over to the window as both looked at Atlas.
"This isn't the kingdom I left," Skyler said and crossed his arms. "But I can't do much. My uncle isn't just the general. He's on the council." Skyler added while gesturing to a group of Mantas which flew by his window.
Skyler hummed and watched the Atlesian Cruisers which hovered around. Skyler turned to Yang.
"Things aren't perfect, but I'm going to focus on dealing with Merlot," Skyler said and clenched his fist. "He's planning something, and nobody wants to focus on the monsters at the gate. The only issue with that is trying to secure Mantle without locking the city down." Skyler added and walked to his desk.
Yang looked at her fiancée who couldn't do anything but bring up the holographic map. He hummed and sighed before starting to move pieces of it.
"And what about Robyn?" Yang asked which made Skyler shrug and hum.
"I don't know what's going on with her," Skyler responded as he continued to work at the map. "But I do know she's going to be at the party. I don't know why, but I'm sure my uncle wants to discuss what to do with her. According to a report that I have. She's in big trouble for something that happened before we came back here." Skyler put in and sighed.
Yang hummed and nodded before she walked towards the door.
"Don't beat yourself up over this," Yang said and turned to the door. "I'll come back before the party if that's cool?" Yang added which made Skyler hum and nod.
Little did they know how the dinner would go. Skyler hummed and cracked his neck.
Skyler hummed as he watched Yang walk to the hanger as he sighed and turned back to the console.

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that Skyler and Yang will be fighting soon. The next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will show Skyler and Yang going to the dinner and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
