Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Dragon and her rook. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.

(Atlas, Schnee Manor, Cordially Invited.)

Skyler had only looked up from his scroll when Yang was close by. Skyler would rather be back in his office than at a dinner meeting.

"Sky," Yang said which made the Atlesian Colonel look up from his scroll as the Manta carried them, Qrow, Ruby, and Oscar.

"Hmm?" Skyler said while looking look up from his scroll. "Sorry, I've been distracted," Skyler stated before sighing and putting in a few more commands.

Nobody else wanted to speak up. Skyler hummed and folded his scroll before placing it into his pocket. He couldn't focus with everything on his brain.

"You've been on your scroll half the ride," Yang stated as the Manta landed in the courtyard. "You, ok?" Yang asked while the door slid open.

"Yes." Skyler put in as he slowly climbed out followed by the others. "You guys go on ahead, I have to talk to Oscar," Skyler stated while the others shared a look.

Skyler gave them a look that told them how important it was before they walked away. Skyler didn't notice Yang duck behind a statue as Skyler crossed his arms.

"Did you hear anything from my uncle?" Skyler asked Oscar who sighed. "He's not been talking to anyone and it just… Ticks me off." Skyler said and crossed his arms.

"That he isn't attending to Solitas?" Oscar asked and got a nod from Skyler. "Has he always been like this before?" Oscar questioned Skyler while the two walked to the door.

"My uncle is… Difficult, when it comes to anything outside of war." Skyler said "He likes to power through everything like a Megoliath. Ironwood has trouble backing down from something that he cants solve with brute force." Skyler added to which Oscar hummed.

"So, he's trying to brute force his way to victory," Oscar responded to which Skyler hummed and nodded. "Did you try talking to him?" Oscar questioned while Skyler rubbed at his temples with his cybernetic arm.

"Yeah, why?" Skyler questioned as the duo stopped in the middle of the courtyard.

"Because it sounds like he needs someone to give him a push in the right direction." Oscar put in and hummed as Skyler chuckled.

"Oscar?" Skyler asked before rolling his eyes. "My uncle isn't someone who listens easily. There was only 1 person that could give him orders. That would be Ozpin…. And last I checked? I haven't seen or heard from Ozpin since the battle of Beacon." Skyler said and sighed before he rubbed at his eyes.

Oscar looked at the ground before he shifted his gaze back at the Atlesian officer who said nothing at the moment.

"What about you and Yang?" Oscar questioned which made Skyler blink and hum in surprise as he looked around.

"What do you mean?" Skyler questioned as he looked around franticly. "What about her?" Skyler asked while he scratched at his neck.

Yang peeked her head out from behind the marble surface and looked at the duo. Oscar said nothing, clearing his throat.

"I heard from Ruby that you and she aren't talking." Oscar put in and then turned back to the side. "Aren't you guys going to get married soon?" Oscar put in as he crossed his arms.

"Yeah." Skyler put in and snapped his fingers with annoyance.
"There's so much going on that I feel like I'm dancing on fire. I just… Don't know what to do." Skyler said before he cleared his throat.

"I'm used to my uncle having everything planned out 12 steps ahead," Skyler said and put a hand to his forehead. "The man is the commander of Atla's military, yet he's acting like everyone is his enemy," Skyler added and sighed while shaking his head back and forth.

"Being in charge doesn't mean you have all the answers." Oscar put in which caused Skyler to chuckle.

"I know… But it doesn't help." Skyler said and watched a Manta roar overhead. "We're soldiers, I respect the chain of command. My uncle raised me when I joined the army, Oscar." Skyler added which made Oscar sigh.

"It sounds like you have to make a choice," Oscar stated which caused Skyler to hum.

"I don't want to watch Solitas burn down around me, but I don't want to fight the entire military…." Skyler responded and started to walk to the door again. "I want them to fight for Solitas like they're supposed to do," Skyler added and cracked his fingers once more.

"Then you're going to have to talk to your uncle," Oscar said and then tapped his cane on the floor. "Both of us will have to," Oscar stated as Skyler nodded which made them nod.

"Yeah, I guess we will," Skyler stated and walked inside.

Yang followed after the duo, curious about what would happen tonight. None of them would be ready for it when it happened.
