A/N: Thank you for all of the continued interest, it's been helping me keep going writing this fic and feeling good about my writing for school too. I have another few chapters planned to wrap things up and, of course, give you plenty of fluff to round out the story.

As it were, Minerva wasn't able to rush directly to Amelia's flat as soon as she got her patronus. She had already been summoned for an emergency meeting of the Hogwarts Board of Governors to address the attack on the Ministry. Anxious but undeterred, Minerva listened to the news report, relieved that none of the members of staff or visiting Hogwarts students at the summer program had been harmed. The Minister of Magic resigned, effective immediately, and there were preliminary reports that members of the Wizengamot had been placed under the Imperious Curse to do the bidding of the group of Death Eaters that had promoted discriminatory laws. Almost in the blink of an eye, the life that Minerva and Amelia had wanted for themselves seemed possible and all she needed to do was wait for a moment when she could exit. She knew Hermione would be safe enough with Amelia and they would go to Saint Mungo's if things were serious.

Amelia's Flat

Amelia racked her brain for how to best diagnose and remove the curse from Hermione. Usually, dedicated curse breakers would be on hand for Aurors once they returned from the field and she had only attempted the work herself when she knew for certain the origins of the curse.

Laying back on the couch, Amelia reflected on the events of that fateful Wednesday, realizing that she would soon need to make sure Hermione made it home safely to the Grangers so as not to worry them. She clearly hadn't been doing all of the worrying. Minerva had sent her a patronus in response explaining that she had an urgent meeting and would be there as soon as she was finished.

Hermione woke up feeling very groggy about an hour later and Amelia immediately checked both visually and with a few diagnostic spells to make sure that she was ok. Thinking back to the first time she shook hands with her daughter, she explained to Hermione that she might be able to transfer some magic to her to help rid the girl of whatever curse she was hit with.

"None of this has been proven, you must understand aurors would never be paired with someone related to them or with whom they were in a relationship, but it's the only thing I can think of right now. I'm sorry there aren't any better options" Amelia offered by way of apology.

"Do it. I may not know you well as a person and parent yet, but I trust you fully. If you think it'll work, go ahead." Hermione said, bracing herself for what may come.

Hermione shifted herself on the couch and lifted up the back of her shirt, revealing bruised and red flesh surrounding the exit point of the curse. Amelia took a deep breath and placed her left hand gently near the point of impact while holding her wand with her right hand. Hermione winced at first but then relaxed, breathing a little easier as Amelia's magic worked her way into Hermione and ridded her of the curse. Even the bruising and inflammation that seemed to need weeks to mend naturally or with muggle medicine quickly healed and youthful flesh once again appeared.

"It worked!" Amelia exclaimed, more proud of her work that the times she treated her fellow aurors in the field.

Tears welled up in Hermione's eyes full of relief and gratitude, turning around to look back at her mother, "Thank you. Thank you for this, thank you for how kind you've been to me this summer and for helping me make it out of there today. You have no idea how much I appreciate you and Minerva. No idea."

Amelia was too verklempt to respond and brought Hermione in for a hug, squeezing her a bit as magic coursed between them.

Minerva finally arrived a little while later, unsure of the scene that would greet her.

"Hello?" she knocked on the door outside the apartment, not wanting to apparate directly inside so as not to startle Hermione.

Amelia greeted her at the door and gave her a quick update on what had happened at the Ministry of Magic with Hermione finding out she is her other biological mother, and how she had healed Hermione.

Minerva gasped in shock, "You mean you were able to heal her with your magic? Wow, that took years for us just to help each other. Either you've improved in leaps in bounds or the bond you two have is incredible, even if you haven't officially known each other for very long."

The two looked back at Hermione who, although awake, was sitting quietly on the sofa with her head in a book Amelia had brought her from her small but well stocked library, not wanting to disturb the small reunion.

"With the Minister out and some of your colleagues gone, we may just be able to restore justice. Some of the other department heads are convening tomorrow at one of the satellite buildings in London, perhaps we will finally be able to make some lasting change," Minerva continued, feeling a bit hopeful after hearing of the attack. There were still Death Eaters out there, but they were buying time to set things up for a better world for their family.

"And I'll be there, the first to initiate these changes. I promise." Amelia took Minerva's hand, looking back on Hermione.

Minerva was the first to say something to their daughter. "Are you feeling ok, Hermione? Amelia was telling me that she was able to rid you of that curse and it appears she's in good health too."

Hermione shifted somewhat awkwardly on the sofa before responding, "Yes, I'm a bit shaken up but feeling a lot better than I was earlier. Now I'm just tucking into a good book before I need to head back to my parents…to the Granger's house". She mentally kicked herself for calling them her parents in front of Amelia and Minerva, but it was the first time the three of them were all together.

Minerva walked over and sat next to Hermione, looking at her intently in the eyes as she sensed her daughter's slight discomfort. "Hermione, it was wrong of me to tell you that I can't be your mother. That is something both of us want to be for you very much but couldn't because of the danger we were under. They're going to work around the clock to right the wrongs these Death Eaters brought to Muggles and Magical people alike. I can't promise you it will be all rosy, but the both of us are here for you and we're both so proud of you for how far you've come at Hogwarts."

Hermione nodded, reaching over to hug Minerva. "I know, but if there's anyone I want to be on this journey with it's both of you. The Grangers were so understanding when I told them you're my mother that I'm sure they'll keep supporting me."

"We know they're still your parents Hermione, they're not going anywhere." Amelia smiled, tentatively placing an arm around Hermione's shoulder.

Hermione sniffled a little bit, holding back tears. "What did I do to deserve you two? Can I…maybe if things really get better, we'll be able to spend some time together, you know, all three of us?"

"We'd like nothing more than to do that, especially over the summer. I could finally take you to the manor" Minerva replied and Amelia nodded.

Something had mended inside the three of them and a calm washed over the room as magic sensed a family reunified after nearly fifteen years.

As the sun began to set, Minerva tasked herself with taking Hermione back to the Grangers to explain what happened at the Ministry and Amelia began preparing for the legal fights ahead and proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.
