NOBLEMAN MORNAY'S CASTLE, MARCH 25

It was the middle of the night, and Mornay was asleep. Though he originally felt confident in his betrayal against William, it was coming back to haunt him. He had a nightmare that involved William charging towards him on the battlefield. He visibly looked afraid, as he was moving around in his sleep. As William got closer and closer, and was seconds away from killing him, he woke up and was beyond relieved to know that it was just a dream.

Seconds later, William broke down his bedroom door and was on horseback. Mornay now had a terrified look on his face, while William appeared angry. He was holding an iron ball and chain. He swung it at Mornay, hitting him in the head, instantly killing him.

Mornay's men heard the interruption and all went to his room. William pushed open some doors on the other side of the room. It led to nothing but water far below it, since Mornay's castle was built along a river. As the men came into the room, William and his horse jumped out of it and into the water, narrowly escaping.

EDINBURGH CASTLE, MARCH 27

The rest of the Scottish nobles were in their sector of the castle, sitting down at a large table, eating lunch.

"Is it true what happened to Mornay?", a noble asked.

"It is. King William broke into his bedroom and killed him. He's on his quest for revenge and is more lethal now than ever. And there's no telling who'll be next.", Craig said.

Then, blood began dripping from above them. Suddenly, Lochlan's dead body landed on the table, implying that William had killed him.

The killings of Mornay and Lochlan had a surprising impact. Over the next few weeks, the news about them and the part they played at Falkirk spread rapidly throughout the world. To everyone who heard about it, it showed how hard William was fighting to try and win the war. Because of this, the world's divided opinions about the war began to change. His status as a king would already be remembered, but his status as a warrior was becoming legendary.

AFTERNOON, APRIL 12

William had Scottish troops blindfold the rest of the nobles and meet him, Aang, and Sokka on a small hill surrounded by grassland for the next mile or so. It was a distant and somewhat neutral meeting site.

When the troops arrived with the nobles, William Jr began with, "Our 'noble saviors' have arrived. Off with their...hoods."

The troops removed their blindfolds.

"King William, we've come to request a meeting. Firelord Zuko also requests to be there.", Craig said.

"What's the point? You've all sworn loyalty to Longshanks.", William said.

"Longshanks is a liar. We all know that. Because of that, swearing loyalty to a liar is equivalent to not swearing loyalty at all. The rest of us nobles swear loyalty to you."

"Then do it publicly."

"We can't. Some believe you're alive while others believe Mornay's men killed you for what you did to him. So we request a meeting to clear up these false rumors. Meet us tomorrow morning in Roslin. Pledge us your pardon and we'll publicly unite behind you."

The nobles then left, with William Jr guiding them.

SUNSET

The sky was getting cloudier. It was windy. The day was coming to an end and it was getting colder. William still had a decision to make. He, Aang, and Sokka were still on the hill. William didn't say anything, but Aang just knew that he had already agreed to meet them.

"You do know it's a trap. Tell him.", Aang said.

"I think if Zuko really wanted to kill you, he would've done it at Falkirk.", Sokka said.

"Aye", William agreed.

"I know. I was there too. He put him on my horse before I rode away."

"Alright, leave Zuko aside.", Aang said. "What about the others? In all my time as Avatar, I've never seen nobles or any other councils or politicians agree so quickly. They're obviously hiding something from you. It's a trap! Are you blind?!"

"Look at us.", William continued. "Our army is battered. We can't do this alone. Joining the nobles is the only hope we have. You know what happens if we don't take that chance?"

"What?!"

"...Nothing."

"Now is not the time. I don't want to be a martyr."

"I don't either. I want a home. I want a country at peace. I want a family that won't stay separated for 10 more years. I've asked God for those things a hundred times over. But it's not worth it if you don't have freedom."

"If it's perfection you're after, it's just a dream. Even after the Hundred Year War there still wasn't perfection. It's only a dream."

"A dream? Then what have we been doing all this time? I don't know about you Aang, but I've been fighting for freedom. I've lived that dream."

"Your dream isn't about freedom. It's about Toph!"

"What are you getting at?"

"You're doing this to a be a hero because you think that if we win this war, then she'll take you back! This isn't about Scotland. It's about fixing your broken marriage!"

"And what about you?! I could say the same about you."

"How?!"

"Maybe you didn't believe that the world had hope when the Fire Nation killed your people. And maybe when you stepped out of that iceberg you didn't believe that the world could recover. Besides, Katara's told me the real story a hundred times. You never wanted to be the Avatar! You never cared about saving the world! You only did it so that one day she'd marry you!"

Aang then snapped. He did something he thought he would never do to anyone. He punched William, knocking him to the ground. Afterwards, he didn't know what to think, so he left.

Sokka then helped William up and said, "You know, I've heard both sides of that story. I've tried my best to be a neutral party. For me, it's always been what's best."

"Yeah. Maybe."

"Should I go with you tomorrow?"

"No. I'm the king. Whatever happens, I need to do it alone. Besides, if it really is a trap, I wouldn't want to risk you or anybody else getting hurt."

"Alright then. I'll see you sooner rather than later."

William then rode to Roslin while Aang and Sokka went back to Edinburgh.
