A/N: This is what I get for thinking about the voice at the beginning of ever LOCI episode..."In New York City's war on crime...". Meh. Anyways, LOCI isn't mine.

It's for a reason that you're here. And you know it. Most of the time, it helps. But sometimes, it doesn't. Sometimes you want another answer. And more often than not, there isn't one. So you continue on about your work, doing what you always do, ignoring the rumors that are always floating around about you. All that matters is that you still have your partner with you. You don't care about anything else. And as long as the squad's solve rate stays up, you're fine.

You've wanted to be a cop for as long as you can remember. But you did other things before getting to where you are right now. Those things hardly matter now. What matters is that you're solving cases. What matters is that you've found a place where you belong. What matters is that you're putting criminals away.

And every time you do it, when you think back, you realize that with every case, you're tipping the scales towards the good side in the city's war on crime.
