The sun rose over the horizon, light flowing through the window and being blocked by the buildings nearby, creating small beams of light rather than large, bulky ones.

Yugi wasn't too fond of seeing the beams of light in the morning. Not because he was lazy and wanted to sleep undisturbed, but because the white beams covered up all the grey tones and made it pretty impossible to see. He reached out and pulled one of the rustic curtains shut, blocking away all the light and giving him a moment to get up and pull on some clothes.

The Banquet that happened the night before was exhausting, but he didn't feel too overwhelmingly tired. He walked down the stairs and sat at the dining table, his grandfather greeting him and chatting as usual. The warmth in the room made his heart ache. Holding the book Atemu gave him tightly in his arms, he smiled and returned the conversation his grandfather had given.

Yugi soon grew tired of doing nothing, and was granted permission to leave. He was trying to spend as much time as possible with those around him, even as unsure and anxious as that makes him. He walked to the home next door and quietly opened the door, a sweet jingle of the bell ringing merrily.

"Oh, hello there! Rare to see you on your own!" The woman laughed loudly from behind the counter. She asked how the bread Yami had delivered was, to which Yugi said it was good and asked where Atemu was. She simply pointed up and allowed Yugi through the door and upstairs to the long, split hallways. He skipped past Yami's room, hoping he wouldn't hear or see him, and creaked open the door to the room.

The room were cleaner than the last time he had visited, the items organised and placed into a large rucksack and the bed made neatly. On the bed, Mana sat delicately, Atem curled up and resting against her lap like a pillow. She gently brushed his hair with a hairbrush, Yugi taking notice of Atemu's flat, un-spiked hair - it resembled a deflated balloon, sprawled out across the sheet of the bed.

"Hi, what ya doin'?" Mana peeked up at Yugi, pausing her session of brushing Atemu's hair to meet his gentle gaze.

"A..h..uhm.." Yugi spoke up, "I..made my decision on whether I'm gonna..co..come with you.."

He felt nervous, messing up every few words and gulping down the anxiety he had felt all of a sudden. Why? Why did he feel this way? He didn't understand it.

"Well, as ya can see," Mana gestured down to Atemu's peaceful face, "The dude ya need is kinda havin' his beauty sleep righ' now."

Yugi gave a small nod. He shuffled in place, before asking if he should leave.

"Hm? If ya don't wanna ya don't have to." Mana chuckled, picking up the brush again and running it through Atemu's hair.

Yugi snuck closer, making a seat for himself on the bed with Mana's permission and taking a look at Atemu.

Mana sighed, "That idiot. I told 'I'm not more than one glass."

Yugi let out a small giggle, Mana doing the same afterwards.

"He's just as bad as 'is brother, y'know? He just tries ta hide it all the time.. Such an idiot.!"

Yugi smiled softly. Atemu seemed so comfortable, disturbing him didn't seem like the correct thing to do at that current moment. He took a few moments in silence, getting up afterwards and letting him sleep.

" I'll come hang with ya if you'd like!" Mana adjusted Atemu's head so it rested on the pillow next to her and stood up on the bed - brushing off her legs in the meanwhile.

Atemu rolled over to a more comfortable space, giving Mana enough leeway to hop over him and landed flawlessly on the ground - stripy socks falling down her knees and crumpling up at her darkly toned ankles.

"Shouldn't you.." Yugi found his voice in the anxiety, "Look after him?"

"Nah. He can look after 'im self."

Yugi gave an unsure nod and creaked the door open. He checked the corridors and slowly left the room, the cloaked girl following closely behind.

" 'ey guys." Yami opened the door to his room, "When' d ya get here?"

"Yugi came by to visit your brother.". Mana gleamed from under the hood - her smile was so bright and pure that Yugi could see it through the black hood. She walked over and scuffed Yami's hair like his twin had done beforehand, "We were gon'na chill out for a bit, wan'na join us?"

"Sure, got nothing else to do."

Yami tailed behind the two, clearly worried over something.

Yugi, Mana and Yami soon met up with Anzu. Together, all four of them played in the town area, Mana teaching Anzu about the world away from the town and laughing at her excited yelps for more information.

"Everythin's automated! Though, ye don't wan'na end up on the wron' side o' town." Mana opened the bag she had on her and took out a book. She opened it up and showed the three a bunch of photos of the main city.

A huge castle, proudly looking over the area. Pure white, compared to the dusty greys and blacks. Tiny houses and hundreds of people. A pathway that wasn't cracked or bumpy.

Everyone stared at it in awe. Yami and Anzu asked more questions, which Mana answered in great detail.

"Yami." A familiar voice called. "The doc needs ya."

Everyone turned around. The voice belonged to Otogi - whom Yugi had learned came in from another town as the doctors student. He rolled his eyes as Yami shook his head, grabbed his wrist and looked to the boy earnestly.

"Look, man, you gotta go."

"Yami," Anzu petted Yami gently, "You should go. It could be important."

"It is." Otogi sighed. He waited for Yami to give in before dragging him away. Yami gave a saddened expression towards the group, before looking down at the pendant around his neck and walking away.

Mana waited for Otogi to leave then declared, "Let's go spy on 'em!"

"What? Why?!" Anzu didn't seem too concerned, despite her tone. Yugi, in all honesty, wanted to see as well. Even if it wasn't allowed.

"I mean" Mana giggled, "Wha' if somthin' happened to 'im? Ate' would be mad as heck!"

"You just want to spy, don't you?"

"Yep."

Mana, in a carefree manner, floatily followed the direction of where Otogi had taken Yami. Yugi and Anzu, feeling like they hadn't a choice, followed after her, exchanging worried glances as they walked to the doctors area.

The corridors were long and winding, Mana creeping behind the walls so the passing people didn't notice her and her obviously suspicious hood. She and the rest of the group made it to the room Yami and the others were in and, after Mana secured a good hiding spot near the crack in the door, they listened. Yugi felt immensely bad about doing this; however he was also curious about Yami's condition and knew he would need to do things like this if he were going to travel with Mana and Atemu.

Yami were seated on the chair, legs tucked into his chest and head dipped low. His mother sat close, gently running his back with her hand and looking to the doctor in her usual confident manner.

"We just can't keep up." The doctor sighed. Yugi couldn't see the doctor from the gap. "It's too expensive to treat him, and with his condition getting worse I'm afraid that soon we won't be able to help at all."

"What ar' we supposed to do then?!" His mother snapped, deathly glare in her eyes.

"If you had the funding we could send him to the capital. But he would have to go alone, and I don't think you have the funds necessary."

His mother retaliated, Yami whimpering behind her, "If I tried I could!! And anyway, why would 'e have ta be alone?!"

"I cannot disclose that to you."

Anzu tensed up. She whispered unsurely, "Are you sure we should be watching this?"

"It' s fun!" Mana gleamed, "Like a drama show."

Yugi rolled his eyes. He gestured for them to be quiet and continued to listen.

"Yugi.." Anzu let out under her breath before continuing to listen as well.

"That's bullshit!!" His mother stood up. She grabbed Yami's hand and pulled him up, "C'mon. We're leaving."

They approached the three. Mana signalled to them that they should run, but the doctor calmly added.

"Use the backdoor please"

The mother and her son sighed and turned around, using the door opposite to them to leave.

The black-haired assistant, who was in the room with them, exhaled,

"The kid's done for."

"No snarky remarks from you this time, eh?"

Otogi walked into view and scratched the back of his head, "There ain't no point, they 'ave enough in their plate anyway."

"Yes.. Well why don't you leave for now? Go get a sandwich."

"Sure."

Otogi casually wandered to the back door and swang it open. He gave his goodbyes and walked through, leaving the scene for good.

"So." The doctor walked to the door Yugi, Mana and Anzu were behind and opened it. "It isn't good to eavesdrop you know."

The three nodded, Mana hiding the cheeky grin on her face.

"We were worried for him.." Anzu told a small, white lie. Though it was true that Anzu and Yugi were worried about their friend, their intentions for eavesdropping weren't as such.

They were merely curious.

"Sure. You." He gestured to Mana, "Please take that hood off or show an ID, just in case."

Mana jumped. She scooted backwards and searched her pockets, to no apparent avail.

"Hm? Can't you? Take off the hood."

"N.. No..! I look like shit so.."

She laughed awkwardly. The doctor edged closer, prompting her to sprint off, leaving Yugi, Anzu and the Doctor in the dust.

"She's fast." Anzu commented. Yugi gave a small nod and gulped, if he decided to go with her would he have to run that fast?

"Do you two know her?"

"Not very well, Yugi seems to, though."

Yugi gave another nod. The doctor, deciding it would be best to change the subject, asked Yugi;

"How's your eye?"

"It.. It's fine! No pain or anything…" Yugi gave a small chuckle and asked Anzu if they could leave, to which she gladly said yes.

"Come back for another appointment in a month, okay?"

It was less of a request and more of a demand.

Yugi and Anzu found a way to catch up to Mana, chasing after her until she felt safe enough to stop running.

"Why'd you run off like that?" Anzu gasped for breath, Yugi doing the same. His throat were dry and ached with every long gasp, his chest hurt and throbbed.

"'I cannot disclose that to you'" She smirked in a mocking tone, obviously taunting the doctor.

Anzu went to protest, Yugi stopping her and telling her that it's not best to question it.

"Shouldn't you.. Che.. Check on Atemu?" Yugi stuttered, Mana twitching as soon as he mentioned it and nodding enthusiastically

She affirmed, "Yes! Yes! I should..!"

"Hm? Is Atemu okay?" Anzu chipped in, Mana casually explained how he 'needed his beauty sleep' so she just left him in his room to play with Yugi.

"I see. Could I-"

"Nope!"

Mana took Yugi's hand and slowly walked off,

"He ain't in a good mood, don' cha' kno'. "

"Then why-"

Mana walked off, Yugi unwillingly trailing behind; he didn't have much choice when his wrist was being grabbed.

Mana thoroughly explained to Yugi that Atemu didn't want people knowing about them leaving just yet. Yugi managed to shake off the girls grip and walk next to her more comfortably. He felt okay about being near Mana. She was friendly and enthusiastic - just the kind of person Yugi found was good to surround himself with.

They arrived at Atemu's place, Mana skipping happily up the stairs and letting Yugi in before briskly shutting the door behind her.

"Who.."

"Hai, hai, 'temu!" Mana greeted. She slipped her shoes off and jumped, landing onto the half-asleep boy with a loud thud.

Atemu yelped, "That hurt..!! What's your problem?!"

"You 'ave a very little guest!" Mana gave out a little giggle then, while still on top of the boy, presented Yugi like he was a showroom item.

"Oh." Atemu looked away, obvious embarrassment seeping through his voice, "Uhm.. Hello there."

"H.. Hi." Yugi waved quietly.

Mana glanced at the two then burst out into laughter.

"Waay too awkward guys! C'mon!"

"Uh.." Atemu cleared his throat then pushed himself up, disregarding the girls weight on top of him,"Whaddya need, Yugi?"

"He's made his decision, 'tem 'tem." Mana rolled off and sat upright, legs crossed in an informal manner.

"You..asked me to come to the Capital with you..uhm.." Yugi mumbled. He straightened his back and let out a deep breath.

"What's your decision then?" Atemu smiled calmly.

Yugi looked out to the window - which were open and letting out the cool breeze.

"I'm coming with you. I have no place being here, and if I'm of any use there.. That's all I need."

"That's.. Great!! Perfect! Brilliant!" Atemu celebrated. He turned to Mana happily.

"新しいパートナーができました!"

Yugi blinked, confused. The girl adjusted her hood and translated,

"He's happy to have a new partner."

The two chuckled at Atemu's awkward apologies for the sudden change in language. After he had been satisfied with the apology, Atemu pointed to Yugi.

"Get your things packed. We'll be leaving in one to two days."

"Got it!"
