Chapter 1
Paula was standing in the tea room running over in her head what had just happened Doctor Luke Forlano had just asked her out. Now there was a time when she would of immediately agreed to this but now she was dating someone else, a guy she happened to like, a guy that helped her get over her feeling for Luke and who liked her son. For Paula when Luke asked the answer was immediately no as she was with Ben now and happy. Both Ben and her hadn't had great relationships in past but hers and Ben was different, it just no one else knew they were together not yet anyway.
It wasn't long before Paula heard someone speak to her "Are you alright?" Paula turned around to see a worried look on Ben's face as she walked over to him and hug him "Just confused that all." Ben could see something was on Paula mind and was worried about her as he cared about her so much. Ben shut the door to the Tea room so no one could see the pair before looking at his girlfriend "What is going on?" Paula grabbed Ben's hand and held it "Luke asked me out. Obviously I said no immediately as your the one I want to be with." Ben could get Paula confusion but did smile at the last bit "And I want to be with you too. I didn't know Luke even liked you." Paula knew Ben and Luke had issues so she knew when Luke found out the truth on why she said no he would feel hurt. "I didn't either. I always thought he only thought of me as a friend." Ben nodded knowing that Paula was just as shocked as him.
It was twenty minutes later when Paula and Ben went their separate ways and Paula walked over to the counter surprised to see Luke with a bruised eye. She immediately was worried about Luke as it was clear that he was hurt. She walked over to him and looked at him "That looks pretty sore. Are you ok?" Luke looks at Paula "Yep fine." He then walks away from her and Paula can tell he is clearly upset about her saying no which makes her feel guilty as she really cared about Luke and a part of her even loved him but she had moved on now and she was happy and so was Max.
Meanwhile Luke was waiting for the lift after seeing Paula for the first time since she had rejected his dinner and concert invitation and he must admit it was hard seeing her as he really liked her. It might have taken him a while to realize and he knew he had lots of failed relationships but that was mostly because he never really liked the person he was dating but he knows that the feeling he feels for Paula are different then what he ever felt for anyone. Luke knows that he is in love with Paula and when she said no to the date he was upset as he really wanted a chance with the person he had fallen in love with.
