Not Expected to Care

Nothing had even happened. That was the worst part of it all. Nothing had even won the chance of happening.

He was gone, and she wasn't permitted to even mourn. Did anyone realise that they had spoken, even once in their years of schooling together? Ron didn't. It had been his confused look which has altered her to the fact it was expected for her to not be affected.

They had spoken, as a matter of fact. In her third year they had done little else, when she had done so much in the library, alone.

It felt like he had died for her. Protecting her.

Brave Cedric.

Secretly, Hermione wept in silence.
