Tiamat Dragoness: yeah, I've seen a bunch of stories where Danny is broken emotionally, or tormented before he ends up in another world and I really wanted to try something different. For the relation between Danny and Dani, I'm thinking of making it a combo of sibling and parental figure. Kinda like Jazz was to Danny. I just think that with how Danny and Dani are both Halfas and with Dani being so young, along with how Vlad abandoned her, she needs a figure to look up to and respect. So it will be a combo of Daddy/Brother Danny. There might be hints of a Daddy thing but those will be just hints. As for pairing, I am taking a suggestion from a previous reviewer and having Characters develop before anything concrete. Ps. I really look forward to your next updates of "The Lost child" and "Charting out your destiny"

Crystal Da Pony: I have an idea for the relation between Danny and Dani. Im thinking of having him play both roles. He will be a prenatal figure when he needs to be but a brochure the rest of the time. In essence, he is her guardian and will look after her. There will be hints of a daddy thing but it will just be hints. I like the Daddy Danny thing but I'm going to try something different. Pairing is still in the air and a ways off. I will be doing character development before we get to it so there will be time before that happens

Chapter 3: what did you do?

The Titans were standing at the edge of the crater that now took over a good portion of the training room as each one was trying to see what was within the smoke, each with their own reservations on what was going on.

Starfire was curious more than anything at what could have arrived. Before, she was worried about her friends and their wellbeing but she was able to see that all of them were all alright so now her focus was on the one that had potentially attacked their home. she lit up her hands with her star bolts ready for anything to attack

Cyborg was internally crying. His beautiful tower now had a new skylight…..that went from the roof all the way to the lowest level. He could see the sunlight, light up all of the rooms now and he could only imagine how long it would take to fix all of the damage. 'Why did I go with Beastboy's stupid idea. Did he know this was going to happen? …..no. Beast boy probably didn't know what was going to happen. He's a goof but he isn't stupid….but I'm gonna make him fix all of this when we get the chance.' he scanned the center of the crater and shifted through several of his visions till he stopped at infrared. There was an extreme drop in temperature in the center. He couldn't make it out since a good few feet in the center was ice cold but he could tell that something was moving. Remembering what it was that caused this and several things he saw in movies, he brought up his sonic canon as he was not willing to take chances. 'The second I see horns or a tail, I'm sending it back to wherever it came from.'

Beastboy was nervous. Despite how he was the one to do this, he never really thought it would work. And in the off chance that it did, he was expecting something like a light show and then he would summon a genie or something and he would wish for a Moped but instead, he got a destructive pillar of light and…..something. He may not be able to see anything but his animal instincts were telling him that something was here. He wasn't sure what, but he knew it was here. 'I'm gonna have to say sorry to Cyborg and Raven later.'

Robin kept focused on the silhouette in the smoke. He wasn't sure what had attacked his home but whoever it was, is going to pay for putting his friends in danger. He pulled out his bow staff for the second he caught sight of the attacker.

Raven…..was unsure of what to do. She spread out her senses, to detect the one that was summoned and she knew they had a low chance at winning. The one that was summoned had a great amount of power. But that wasn't all, she could feel that there was more than one. She did her best to keep her emotions in check but it was difficult. Summoning one with this level of power was one thing, but to have to heed the call meant that their best chance would be to ask for a peaceful transaction. Heck, she was tempted to get Robin to call the league for help if things go south.

Danny was waiting for the smoke to clear as he had heard some movement coming from in front of him. He felt Dani gripping his leg and was getting ready for anything to protect her. He finally saw the smoke clearing and saw several figures standing above him. He got into his defensive stance, ready for anything.

The Titans were finally able to see who it was that arrived in the tower and they were not expecting the sight of someone that looked like another teen that seemed to be around their age. A few of them expected horns, tails, multiple eyes, or….something. But they weren't going to let their guard down.

Raven tilted her head a bit in confusion, not so much about his appearance but on the fact that she could have sworn she felt two arrivals, not one. She was brought out of her musing when she heard Robin speak

"I don't know who you are, but you're going to pay for attacking our home. TITANS…"

Raven's eyes widened as she knew what came next. "Robin! Wait!"

"GO!"

Starfire leapt into the air and floated as she prepared to send star bolts at the intruder

Beastboy shifted into a tiger as he made his way into the crater

Cyborg started the fight off as he fired off his sonic cannon, over Beastboy and towards the newcomer

Danny saw the blast head his way, spun around, picked Dani up while she was still invisible, and jumped up in the air. He heard Dani squeak in surprise but he focused on flying out of wherever they were. He flew upwards towards the sunlight and smiled as he got out of it

Robin looked at Starfire and called out. "Mind giving me a lift?"

Starfire flew over and grabbed Robin by the hand and flew after the white-haired boy

Cyborg ran over to the hole and jumped in the air as Beastboy transformed into a pterodactyl and flew off

Raven was in shock as she stood there at the fact that her team had just attacked a being that had enough power to give them a fight. She shook out of her thoughts as she rushed off to stop things from escalating too much.

Danny flew into the air and ignored the fact that it was daytime when last he saw the sky, it was late at night. He spun around and saw that there was a city nearby with a bridge going across the bay. He looked down at Dani who was still invisible and spoke. "Dani, I need you to fly over to that bridge over there. I get the feeling that those guys are going to come after me and I need to make sure that you are safe." he felt her shift and figured that she was looking up at him.

"But….."

Danny placed his hand on her head and smiled. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Wait for me on the top of one of the arcs of the bridge. I'll meet up with you when I'm done." he knew she was thinking about it and he reassured her with a smile. "I promise." feeling her nod, he let her go and could feel her presence fly off towards the bridge. And just in time as he had to dodge a green orb of energy that was sent at him. He turned around to see who it was that sent it and saw an orange-skinned girl with long red hair flying at him. He would have thought she was a ghost from the glowing green hands and eyes but the skin color and lack of ghostly aura tipped him off that she wasn't. And his ghost sense hadn't gone off. 'How the hell…?' he didn't have time to think about it since he had to dodge several more orbs sent at him. "Ok, you wanna play? Then let's play!" he flew towards her with his fist pulled back and charging it with ecto energy

Starfire charged to meet the attack with her own fist pulled back.

The two fists impacted causing a shockwave to be heard.

Danny fell from the sky as he held his arm in pain. 'Damn! That hurt. How much strength does she have?!' He was able to catch himself in the air in time to avoid another blue beam from the side. Unfortunately, he was hit in the back by some kind of explosive and turned around to see a guy wearing some kind of uniform and domino mask standing on the roof of the building he just left. He saw the boy grab a set of disk-like objects and Danny didn't want to know what they do. He flew to the side and looked up to see some robot guy aiming at him while hanging onto a….green dinosaur? 'What did I just get into?'

Starfire was still floating in the air where she and the white-haired boy attacked each other as he held her hand in pain. Whatever he had put into his hand had left her hand slightly burnt. This was a shock since thanks to her Tamaranian biology, she was far tougher than normal people. This meant that the attack he had was powerful. She shook her hand to get her hand to stop stinging a bit and looked down to see her friends attacking the white-haired boy. She flew down to join the battle and saw that he was now sending green blasts at them.

Danny shot down another set of disks that the colorful guy on the roof sent before he twisted in the air to avoid another flurry of the green orbs that the girl sent at him from above. He looked up and returned fire as they began to exchange green blasts. Flying under another few blasts, he flew closer and then sent out a wider ecto ray at the girl. He smirked as he saw that she wasn't able to avoid the large blast and fell from the sky. He moved to avoid the blue beam from the robot guy before he turned and flew after the dino robot duo as they flew away from him.

Cyborg turned his head to see that the guy was flying after them and the thing that made him worried was the fact that he was gaining fast. "Move it, BB!"

Raven came out of the hole of the building to see her team fighting the summoned being and she needed to stop this. She was about to fly up to stop and plead for a ceasefire but her senses caught onto the second entity she felt before and it was moving away from the tower. She followed her sense to see where it was going and saw that it was heading towards the bridge. Her eyes widened at this and she looked to her team to see that they were in the middle of the battle. If the other entity is hostile, then many different people will be hurt. She thought about what to do before she chose to go after the second entity. She might be able to drive off the second one since it was smaller in power. Beat it? Maybe not, but driving it off was as good as she was hoping. She flew off towards the bridge to intercept

Robin saw Raven fly away and called out. "Raven! Where are you going?!"

Raven didn't have time to respond and figured that she would tell Robin about it on the communicator later. She had to stop the second entity.

Danny flew over the green dinosaur, still trying to convince himself that it wasn't a ghost, and charged his hand with ecto energy. 'Being a lover of animals, I'm gonna hate this…..and if Dani finds out she will never let me live it down.' he sent a small ecto ray at the dinosaurs back and watched as it began to fall from the sky, towards the roof of the building. As he watched it happen, he caught something blue flying away from the fight…. And towards the bridge. "DANI!" he flew off after the blue figure to stop whoever it was from finding Dani.

Raven was so focused on where the smaller signature was going that she didn't realize the larger signature was closing in on her till it was right behind her. 'How did..?' She stopped in her flight in time to see the entity fly in front of her and sent two blasts at her. The blasts collided with each other a few feet in front of her, causing a bright flash and blinding her. She opened her eyes and shook her head to remove the spots from her eyes and saw that he was gone. She focused on her senses and felt that it was going after the smaller one. She brought out her communicator and saw it was Robin that answered.

{Raven?}

"Robin, they are heading towards the bridge. I'm going to confront them and try to talk to them."

{'talk'? Raven, they attacked our home and you're gonna talk with them?!...wait, 'them'?}

Raven nodded. "Yes, there are two of them. And they didn't attack, they were summoned." seeing the confusion on his face she knew that explanations needed to be done but that can wait. "I know you want answers but I think we can end this peacefully. They are heading towards the bridge. Lock onto my communicator and track me but come peacefully. We don't want to escalate this anymore."

Robin wanted to say something but with what Raven said, this was something most likely magic based and with Raven being the magic-user of the team, she was more knowledgeable. {alright, we will track your communicator and head your way.}

Raven nodded as she put the device into her robe and sped up towards the bridge.

Dani landed at the top of one of the arches of the bridge, just as Danny instructed. She looked towards the city and wondered where they had arrived. She couldn't recognize the place since she had seen Amity Park many times from the sky with Danny. She stared at the city for a few minutes till she gasped out a blue mist. She squeaked out in surprise as she felt a pair of arms wrap around her and fly off. She looked up to see Danny had picked her up. "What's up?"

Danny looked down at her with a serious look. "I don't know how but one of the people that attacked us figured you were in this direction. I'm taking us to the city to hide from them." he thought about how the girl wearing blue had figured out where Dani was. Even ghosts tend to have trouble seeing other ghosts when one of them is invisible unless they are both invisible, then again the girls could fly so they had some sort of power. 'Maybe…?' "Dani, when we get into the city, I want you to transform back into your human form."

Dani was about to ask but she saw the seriousness in Danny's face and nodded

Raven kept flying as she followed her senses and pulled out her communicator. "Robin, they are heading towards the city. You guys better make your way in my direction in case things go …..!"

{Raven? What's wrong?}

"...I can't feel them anymore…."

{what?}

Raven focused on the direction she felt them go and could tell that she truly lost them. "Track my position. I'm going to look in the area to see if I can pick up the trail." She flew off to try and find them.

Danny looked up from the alley he was hiding in as he saw the blue cloaked girl fly past them and sighed in relief. "Looks like it was our ghost forms that she was tracking." he heard a small yawn and looked down to see Dani rubbing her eyes. He should have known she would be like this since when all this happened, it was late at night in Amity Park and the only reason Dani was still able to stay awake was because of being in her ghost form. But now in human form, she was quickly falling asleep. "Come on…" he picked her up and began to carry her. "Can't have you fall asleep as we go around the city."

Once she was in his arms, she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned her head on his shoulder. She nuzzled into his shoulder as she mumbled out "I'm not sleepy…"

Danny chuckled as he walked through the streets with a sleeping little girl in his arms.

Everyone he walked past smiled at the scene as they thought it was a cute scene.

Danny chose to walk around the city and look around at the sights as he tried to figure out where he was. He even was able to see the cover of a newspaper and saw that he was in a place called "jump City". He had never heard of it before and had no clue where in the world it was. One thing that bugged him was the fact that both he and Dani were at one point in Amity Park at night to Jump City in the day. One thought that ran through his mind was that he was teleported to another part of the world but it didn't make sense based on the time of day they were in and still ran into people that not only spoke English but did it without any noticeable accent. If they were teleported to another part of the world, it would most likely have them in a location that spoke a different language.

Another thought that ran through his head was that they might have been thrown through time but the date on the Newspaper was the same day that he remembered. He also had a feeling that Clockwork wouldn't have let that happen…...or maybe he would since from their first encounter, Danny remembered that clockwork had said "I know everything" and "everything is as it should be". And with how Clockwork is the Master of Time, Danny was not going to argue the statements.

Danny paused in his musing when he looked up to see the blue cloak-wearing girl and the orange-skinned girl flying just above him. He turned his head to see the robot guy, the colorful uniformed guy and a guy he hadn't seen before, a short guy with green skin, pointy ears, and a fang sticking out from under his lips. He looked back at the girls to see the cloak-wearing one looking around. 'They must be trying to find me, better get out of here. I don't want to test how good she is able to detect my ghost half.' he turned the corner as he nonchalantly walked away. He looked to Dani's head to see she was still sleeping, with a bit of drool making his shoulder wet. He chose to ignore the wetness and kept walking

Danny had roamed the city for hours and the sun had gone down and Danny was getting frustrated. He had tried calling home or accessing his email but neither of them worked. He had tried several times but it was always the same thing. Now he was tired.

In fact, he was far more tired than he should have been. Sure, he was walking around the city for hours but he shouldn't be this tired. He figured that he was probably hungry since, based on how long he had been in the city, he missed his breakfast and needed food. He was now sitting on a bench with Danny still sleeping on his lap and a hotdog in his free hand. He looked down to Dani, who was leaning on his side, and gently shook her awake. "Dani, it's…..time to wake up." He thought it would have been weird if he said it was morning since, wherever he was, it was clearly night.

Dani stirred from the slight shaking and she groaned as she came back from consciousness.

Danny smiled as he brought the hotdog down in front of her as he knew that the smell of that would wake her up, but to his confusion, she pushed it away from her face. "Dani?"

Dani groaned as she shifted on his side. "Danny…? I don't feel so good."

Danny grew worried as he moved to have her lean her head on his lap and placed his hand on her forehead. He felt that she had a fever and that she was now sweating. He went wide-eyed at this as he needed to get her somewhere she can get help. He picked her up, discarding the hotdog onto the ground, and got to his feet and it was then that he fell to a knee. 'Wha….. What's going on?' He had never felt this kind of tiredness before. Sure, he had been tired before when he overexerted himself before in fights or in holding back in gym as it was a lot tougher holding back than it is letting loose. But now, it almost feels like all of his energy is leaving on its own. He tried to think of what the reason was for both himself feeling exhausted and why Dani was feeling sick right now. '...what if …..those people did something to us?!' He looked at Dani and saw that she was now panting and she needed help. Thinking about what to do he spoke. "Dani, can you transform? You might feel better if you use your ghost energy."

Dani didn't verbally respond as she just transformed on the bench.

Danny didn't care if there might be people around since at the moment, his main priority was to get her help. besides, no one in this city knew who he was and since they were in the dark, no one could see his face. He transformed and picked Dani up. He saw that she had her eyes open and looked like she was a little better but he still needed to move. Even though he felt better, he still felt his energy draining. He flew into the air and looked around till he saw the wide T-shaped building he came from. "They better help fix this." he flew towards the tower, mentally prepared to defend himself if they attacked again.

~Meanwhile, Titan's tower~

The Titans returned after hours of searching the city for the one that they fought and the second one that they didn't see. It was well into the night when they came back with no leads

Raven had tried multiple times to lock onto the signature that was linked to the entities but only got trickles. Small echoes of them as if they were there but also not.

Now the team was in the training room where it all started and were examining the crater. Well Robin was examining the crater

"My Tower...my beautiful Tower." Cyborg was crying at the sight of the massive hole of the tower he spent so long thinking up blueprints, building up security measures, and constructing the place they called home.

Robin rubbed some of the ash that was left behind and sighed as he knew he was going to need more info to work with. "What happened here?"

Raven turned to give a hard glare at Beastboy who was nervously shuffling away

"Uh….well…"

Raven brought out the book she had gotten back from Beastboy and looked him in the eye. "What spell did you do?"

Beast boy was sweating at the hard look that Raven was giving him and he tried to think of what he could say to avoid the ire of the magic-user. Knowing that he couldn't lie, he gulped and tried to think of the spell. "Uh….well….." his mind tried to remember the name of the summoning or the page number but he was coming up blank. "Uuuhhhh."

Robin looked at Beast Boy and could tell that his friend was having trouble remembering. "Beast Boy, you have to give us something to work with."

Now Beast Boy was panicking. All eyes were on him and this was just making him even more nervous. He let out a squeaky "uh." before he was saved by Cyborg

"I was able to get a good look of the thing before it all went to hell. I can pull up an image and work with that."

Robin nodded as it was the best they could do right now.

Cyborg gestured for them to follow as he led them to the main living area. Once there, and avoiding the hole that was in front of the kitchen area, he plugged a cable into his arm as his cybernetic eye glowed red.

The large screen showed a shot of the circle Beast Boy drew.

Raven's eyes widened at the circle before she opened the book to find it. "Here it is." She placed the book on the table for the whole team to see and began to explain its purpose. "It is a multi-level summoning. A simple summoning circle that can summon anything from a low-level imp to a powerful demon. Due to the simplicity of the circle though, specified items are needed in order to lock onto a specified target." she looked up to the screen again and looked at the items being used. She felt her anger rise but did her best to hold it back. She rounded on Beast Boy as she fumed. "What were you thinking? Despite the simplicity of this summoning, you used simple everyday objects in place of specified items. You used a kitchen knife instead of a sacrificial dagger, a piece of lettuce instead of sage leaves, and a false tooth when you needed the real thing!"

Beast Boy brought his hands up in surrender as he tried to defend himself. "Hey, I honestly didn't think it would really work! I mean, I used crayon to draw the thing. It was only to help pass the time and I figured that if it did work, I could ask for a Moped."

Raven rubbed her temples to quell her anger. "Beast Boy, for a summoning circle, it doesn't matter the material used to make it. Unless specified on what to use, it is the symbols themselves that activate the circle. The circle is more like a pathway for the magic to use in order to be cast for the specified purpose. Magic circles can be made without drawing it by using just magic but that is for more practiced sorcerers. Drawing the circle is just for less practiced users." she then turned to look at the circle on the screen and sighed. "With how you used simple objects in place of the required items, I have no clue where the entities come from. And without knowing that, I don't know if they can be talked to or not."

Robin came up and spoke up to the rest of them. "Regardless, we can't let them roam the city if we don't know if they are a threat or not. If Raven can talk to them, and ask them to leave, then we should try that first."

Starfire then raised her hand to ask. "Friends, should we not continue the searching for them?"

Robin looked at Starfire and sighed. "Raven was the only one that could sense where they were. If they are hiding, then we would need to do this the old fashion way." he thought about where he should start looking till he remembered earlier, that Raven said she felt small blips of their signature and turned to her. "Do you think you can point out the spots where you felt a small sliver of their power?"

Raven nodded as Cyborg switched the image on the screen to a city map. Raven then pointed out areas on the map where Cyborg circled in red.

Robin then nodded. "Cyborg, can you pull any security footage that has these areas?"

Cyborg nodded again as he went through several security videos. They let them play a few minutes before Raven popped up on the screen with her looking around.

The team looked through the footage repeatedly as they looked for any sign of the white-haired guy they fought early on before Beast Boy yawned.

"Dude, what are we looking for? We've been rewatching the same vids for an hour."

Cyborg was also confused as he hadn't seen anything related to the guy that beat them.

Robin though narrowed his eyes. He knew that there was something there but he couldn't see it. All of the videos just showed the general public. Guy calling a cab, a mother-daughter pair walking through the street, a guy reading the newspaper as he walked, a guy carrying a sleeping little girl. 'What am I missing?' The only thing that the security feeds have in relation to each other were repeats of some of the same people.

Most of the team were feeling sleepy as it was late at night and most of them were just about to head to their room to get some sleep and figured that they would continue the search tomorrow morning till Raven froze

"Robin, you're not going to need to search for them anymore."

The rest of the team stopped what they were about to do and looked to her with Starfire asking. "What do you mean, Friend Raven?"

Raven turned around and looked past the screen and out the window. "Because they just popped up….and are heading our way."

Beast Boy began to wave his arms frantically as he panicked. "Are they going to attack us! Oh no, what if they plan to take my soul and turn me into a zombie minion and I start eating the brains of everyone around me!"

*clang*

"Ow." he was brought out of his rambling when Cyborg bonked him on the head.

Raven could feel the apprehension from all her friends and knew that if she didn't say something, they might strike first and they needed to talk more than anything. "Everyone, remember, we need to talk first. We might end this without a fight so hold off from striking unless they attack us."

Robin still was wary, especially since they were coming to them but he didn't want another repeat of the last fight. He looked to his team and gave them a nod with them responding, hesitantly, in agreement.

They all turned to the hole and kept a few feet away from it as not to antagonize them.

Raven felt them arrive and nodded to her team as they stepped back so Raven would be in the front. She felt the larger signature leave the smaller one on the roof before descending through the hole.

It was oddly symbolic seeing the single figure slowly descending down the hole with a glow around him and bathed in the moonlight.

Raven though could tell that something was wrong as she could feel that his signature almost felt like it was weakening. She then saw him lift his head and stare at her.

"What did you do to me?"

The teen Titans all tensed at the fierce tone in the question but they made no move to come off as threatening

Raven took a breath as she moved closer till she was at the edge of the hole as he was in the center of it. She bowed to him as a show of respect as she spoke softly "May I ask, what you are referring to?"

Danny was a little taken aback by the bow, but he had important matters to deal with right now. He sized her up, trying to see if there was any sign of a threat. Not seeing anything he asked "What did you do to me? For the past couple hours, I've been feeling ...off, and I want to know how to fix it." he wasn't going to tell them that he was feeling weaker and weaker every minute that passed. Since apart from the green guy and the girl in front of him, he could tell the guy in the colorful costume and robot guy were ready to attack. Heck, right now he was forcing himself to stay airborne since he felt like he could collapse if he didn't force himself to.

Raven was confused about what he was referring to. 'It was a simple summoning, there shouldn't be anything in it that would be seen as problematic…..wait.' She remembered how the items used were not the needed items. If this was causing issues in the one that was summoned, it can cause many others to find their way to their world to find out what happened. And with how powerful this guy felt, she could only assume he was high ranking or important. She needed to make sure that nothing bad happened to him otherwise, there might be an invading force from the dimension he was summoned from. She sighed as she lit her hand in magic as she needed to see if she could ease up what was causing him discomfort.

This turned out to be a mistake though

Danny saw her hand light up with something black and white and he didn't know what it was. He lit his hand up in ecto energy and pointed his palm at her

This caused the other Titans to get into a fighting stance as they were ready to defend their friend.

Cyborg had his canon aimed at the flying boy

Robin had his bo-staff poised and ready

Beastboy had turned into a lion and growled

And Starfire had her own palm pointed at the boy. ready to fire

Everyone was now at a standstill as they waited for the other to make a move

All this, because Raven lit up her magic. She realized this and lifted her other hand to the side in a way to tell her friends to stand down. "don't."

Robin shifted his gaze to her. "Raven…"

Raven looked over her shoulder at the boy and said sternly "No, Robin. Do not attack." she turned her gaze back to the summoned one and saw the glare focused solely on her. She needed to come off as peaceful. "I mean no harm. If you allow me, I want to examine you in order to see what might be causing you problems."

Danny didn't let up his glare or his power. He didn't know them and he wasn't going to just trust them. he looked into the girl, Raven's eyes to find any sort of deceit. The issue was that her expression barely changed in all of this exchange. He couldn't get a read on her but he was losing strength fast. He floated towards her so as to not give her the choice to move. He was now a foot away with his hand still glowing as he was ready to fire at a moment's notice. "Do anything funny, and you'll regret it."

Raven nodded as she lifted her glowing hand to his chest over the insignia. Now that she was this close, she could tell something was wrong with him without even scanning him. His power was weakening. She even sensed the smaller one on the roof weakening and could tell that must be what was the issue. She then focused her magic in her palm and scanned his body. Already she could tell that his biology was something she had not ever seen before. Despite this, she did her best to figure out what was happening. She followed the flow of power and found an orb where all his power was coming from. She chose to ignore that as she had a job to do. She was startled when she felt him sigh in relief and she could feel his emotions go from stress and wary to relaxed and tranquil. She didn't know why this was going through him but she was startled out of her thoughts as she felt him grab her wrist gently.

Danny felt all his weariness dissipate at what she was doing and felt some sense of euphoria at regaining some of his strength back. But his mind snapped back to reality as he remembered someone more important than him. He grabbed her wrist, making sure not to put too much strength in his grip. He saw her lift her head and look at him before he said. "What were you doing?"

Raven felt like she might have offended him in some way at the intrusion of her magic. "I uh…" she needed to be honest. "I was just scanning your body to find out what the problem was. I'm sorry if I …"

"Are you sure that's all you were doing?"

Raven swallowed as she nodded

Danny narrowed his eyes at her till he looked at the others in the room who were still ready to fight. Taking a deep breath he spoke. "Whatever you were doing was helping. I don't know what it was but what you used was getting rid of my problem. But I need you to do this for someone else."

Raven looked up through the hole before asking. "Do you mean the one you left up...ugh!" she winced as she felt his grip on her wrist tighten. Not so much to cause a lot of pain, but she felt it.

"Let me warn you. If I see any sign of you hurting her, I will make sure you regret even thinking about it."

Raven was frozen in place at the glowing green eyes that bored into her

Robin was not appreciating how this guy was threatening Raven and was about to say something till he saw the guy let her go and fly up through the hole. "Raven!"

"Stay back!"

The other titans stopped their advance as Raven held her hand up but kept her gaze up at the hole.

"Just let me do this."

Robin was about to protest till he saw the guy come back. This time with someone in his arms.

Danny flew down till he was in front of Raven again. He looked down at Dani and saw that she was trying her best to stay awake but she looked terrible. He brushed a lock of hair out of her face and smiled as she opened her eyes. "You ok?" he knew it was a stupid question. But it was a thing between the two. He would always ask her that no matter the circumstances and she would always answer

"I would be better with a chocolate shake."

Danny smiled before he looked up at Raven and his stern face returned. "Do what you did with me. It helped me a bit but she needs it more." he shifted so he held Dani in one arm as he lit his now free hand in Ecto energy.

Raven understood the threat and chose to do what she did with him to her. She ran her magic over the girl and saw that her biology was the same as his. She could tell that what she was doing was easing the discomfort in the girl and her mind was trying to think of what the problem with these two could be. 'Why is just my scanning magic easing their discomfort. Could they be related to the source of my magic? Maybe they are constructs of it and are only absorbing my ….' It was then that she remembered the incantation for the spell. More specifically, a section of the incantation

Her mind reeled at what this could mean, but it made sense if they reacted this way just from scanning their bodies. "I think I know how to help."

Danny narrowed his eyes at her but nodded for her to continue.

Raven swallowed as she spoke. "The summoning that brought you here was done poorly and one of the lines has a binding effect. The problem is that the original one to say it…" she looked over her shoulder to glare at Beast boy who nervously chuckled before she looked back at the white-haired boy "there are two ways I know of that might help you."

Danny was confused about the "summoning" bit of her speech but he chose to hold off on asking as he right now needed to know how to get Dani and his strength back. "And those are?"

"One option is to bind you to the one who contributed the magic. In this case: me."

Danny did not like what was said. "Bind" him? He really didn't like the sound of that and if this meant that the same would be done to Dani, he knew his answer. "No."

Raven winced as she felt that she was upsetting him more than she needed to but being honest was the best way to go about it. She already figured that would be the answer given. Most summoned didn't like binding themselves to another, especially if the one summoned was sentient enough. "Then we have the second option."

"Which is?"

Raven looked up at him with a solemn look. "We bind you to an object."

Ok, Danny really needed an explanation. "Ok, you keep talking about binding but what the hell do you even mean?"

The other Titans were just as confused about this as they were not versed in magic.

Raven was a little taken aback by the question but responded. "I think that because of the strange way you were summoned, you are unstable and can't maintain your presence here for long. I don't know the full effects of such a poor summon but with the way you reacted, you need something to anchor you."

Danny's head was spinning. 'Summoned? Anchor? What the hell is she talking about?' as his mind was trying to come up with an answer to this but he came back to the real world when he felt Dani shift in his arm. He saw that she was looking better and figured that if what Raven said was true, then he would hear her out. "What exactly does binding us to an object mean?"

Raven took a deep breath before she explained. "Binding you to an object allows you to stay without any issues. From what I could tell, you are unable to handle being here after the summoning and instead of sending you back, it is causing you to weaken at an alarming rate. Binding you would help stabilize your form."

Danny was starting to get what she was saying but there were some things that he needed to know. 'Was that weird circle that caught me some kind of summoning circle? I didn't even know you could summon a ghost! What the hell?!' he then remembered how in movies, cults would do some ritual to summon some spirit or demon to do their bidding or ask for something. He looked at the others in the room and asked "so one of you 'summoned' me?" he saw that everyone in the room turned their heads to the short green guy who was nervously waving

"Eh heh heh….. Hi."

Danny deadpanned at him as he spoke. "If you planned on making me your slave, you can forget it!" Danny had dealt with being mind-controlled once before and he had no plans on being anyone's servant again. And with Dani in the mix, he was going to fight fang and nail against it.

Most there flinched at his harsh tone

Raven spoke up before things got out of hand….again. "No. he wasn't the one you would have been bound to. He doesn't have the power to keep you stable."

Despite how the guy reacted, Beast Boy thought it would have been cool to have someone pick up his mess and get him a root beer while he lounged on the couch. Though he figured that would be tantamount to slavery and his mood dropped even more at that.

Raven continued speaking. "The one that you would need to be bound to would be me since I think my magic was the catalyst to activate the summoning."

Danny turned his gaze to her and spoke in just as harsh a tone. "Yeah. still not happening."

Raven nodded "which is why an object is the best choice. But I need to find an object that would be suitable for the binding. Not just any object will do."

"As long as you aren't using it to control me or anything."

Raven shook her head. "I would never do that."

"well, how the hell am I supposed to know that? I have no clue who any of you guys are. You attacked me out of nowhere and I had to get her…" he pointed at the now peacefully resting Dani "out of harm's way. So forgive me if I don't trust any of you."

Raven nodded as she could see where he was coming from. "I understand. But know that we mean you no harm."

"I'll believe that when she is ok."

Raven nodded. She pulled her hand away from the younger girl as she floated back. "She should feel better from that." despite how she was only scanning, she could feel the little girl's strength return.

Danny looked down and saw Dani was looking like her normal self. He even smiled as he saw her open her eyes.

The team watch the interaction between the two and were ready to intervene but their moods softened when they saw the guy soften in his harshness when the little one began to wake up.

Robin lowered his stance a bit as he saw this. Family was important and Robin didn't need to be trained by the world's greatest detective to see they were siblings. He figured he may have jumped the gun when they got here but he didn't have all the facts, so it was a logical conclusion that he thought he attacked them. For now, he would withhold full judgment…. At least till he fully proved he wasn't a threat. Till then he would still keep his guard up.

Dani opened her eyes to see that Danny was holding her. "Hey, Da...Danny." she mumbled as she rubbed her eyes as she tried to get the tiredness out of her eyes. Despite how she was conscious, it was like she was in a haze

Danny chuckled as he could tell she was still trying to get all her senses back. "How are you feeling?" he floated over to the floor and gently put her down

Dani held onto his leg as she wobbled a bit. "Better, but what happened?"

Danny sighed as he looked at the others who were looking at the pair. "That's what I would like to know. Mind giving us the full story?"

I hope you guys liked how this chapter went. I figured that with how things looked, Robin would attack first and Danny being protective of Dani, he would send her away from the fight and handle it himself.

As for the clash between Starfire and Danny, I don't know the upper limits of both and they differ in strength. I figured that Starfire would be physically stronger than Danny but Danny is more versatile. I know Danny has super strength but I don't know how strong. Speed in flight I believe would still be in favor of Starfire but in fights, I think Danny has better speed and Maneuverability

Also, I must confess that I got this idea from reading another Teen Titans Danny phantom fic called "soulbound". It is where I got the idea of the binding but I'm moving in a slightly different direction.

also, this does not mean that the pairing will be Raven. she is just the logical choice to handle the situation

Anyway, the next chapter will have the binding and might be shorter
