Justice
Chapter 2: The Resistance
Finding himself trapped on an island far from home, Joseph discovers his new abilities to bend the elements. Scared and confused, a voice in his mind speaks to him telling him that his fate does not have to end here and that they can defy death and survive. Filled with a new determination to live Joseph now strives to learn more about his new powers and to hopefully find away off of this tropical nightmare.
[Deserted Island, Four months later]
(Joseph's point of view)
Meditating on the beach Joseph slowly breathes in and out continuously neither moving from his position or opening his eyes. After a long period of time had passed Joseph abruptly stood up and took in the environment around him. To his left and right the sands of the beach. In front of him lies the ocean and behind him. Turning to his left he narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath. Assuming a boxing stance he looks dead ahead at the sand, feeling the wind brush pass him as he stands still. Exhaling, Joseph throws a powerful left jab in which a powerful blue flame erupts from and spreads across a large portion of the beach. He turns quickly to the ocean and raises his arms quickly like a whip, causing waves to form in the opposite direction from the sand. Pivoting back to the forest Joseph stomps on the ground whilst raising his right arm causing cracks in the earth underneath the trees. With his right arm he makes a fist with his right hand and punches the air. The ground beneath the trees lifted from the rest of the ground and was propelled along with several trees further into the forest. Spinning back to the other side of the beach he rotates his arms in a circular motion and with a powerful thrust with his left hand, a strong gust of wind shoots through the sand. Looking on at the progress Joseph smiled as his months of being on this island training has payed off.
"I did it. I fucking did it! Take that Roku, I managed to do that before I was a middle age man!" said Joseph happily
"Don't get too cocky there. Roku may have took longer to get to this point, but you have information that he did not possess when he was your age. In fact he would have just started airbending at this point if he was your age. Besides you may have been able to replicate the same scene Roku had done, but that does not mean you are anywhere near his skill yet. Your waterbending could use some work. " said the voice seriously.
"Can't you just be happy for me." said Joseph
"I'm you remember? You feel happy so do I. I just don't express it in the exact same form." said the voice like he was stupid.
"Yeah I get it. Your a fucking buzzkill." said Joseph walking into the forest.
Heading into the forest Joseph reaches a small earthen shelter with a small fire going next to. A small stream was visible just behind the shelter. Walking over to the stream Joseph washes his face.
"AH, much better." said Joseph
Looking at his reflection in the water Joseph notices his beard has grown even more looking more full and natural. As opposed to the trimmed goatee he had before arriving on the island. His hair had also grown exceptionally longer than he'd wished. Now reaching near his shoulders he kept his wavy black down as much as could, but to no avail.
"Fuck I could really use a hair cut and a shave. If my mates could see this I'd get roasted for letting myself go like this. At least my body is in better physical state that was back home. So that's a plus. Ah fuck them, I look alright." said Joseph running his hand through his hair.
"Yeah a real rugged piece of shit." said the voice out of know where
"What the hell. I though you and I were on the same side?" said Joseph
"Hahaha, what can I say? I always got to throw my ten cents in." responded the voice
"Yeah, yeah whatever. Aright what's the time?" said Joseph lifting his wrist to see his watch.
"Oh come on now. Don't be like that." said the voice giggling.
"Hmmm, five forty seven. I better start setting up for dinner." said Joseph.
Sending out a small ball of fire to keep the pit fire going, Joseph strolls down the stream another part of the beach to catch tonight's dinner.
"Alright let's see what's out here tonight." said Joseph holding his arms out.
Moving his arms around, Joseph bends the water around the passing fish catching them.
"Alright got one. better get this bad boy back to camp."
"It seems you are improving with your waterbending." said the voice
"Yeah but it's still not as good as my control over fire and earth. Hell my airbending is even better then my waterbending." said Joseph grasping the fish.
"Well we already figured out it would be your weakest element. But your earthbending has surpassed your firebending now. That's an achievement all on it's own." said the voice as Joseph was walking back to camp.
"I guess. I managed to learn the rock glove technique and the rock shoe technique. Say what you want about the dai li, those guys were fierce opponents." said Joseph following the stream.
"Yeah those boys were tough in the last airbender, but the legend of Korra? I think not." said the voice
"Yeah but it's still a useful technique. With it I can scale practically any earth structure with ease and fire small tiles against opponents. Oh and use the rock gloves to subdue people. So it's a great skill to have." said Joseph reaching the camp.
"It's a good technique and all but there's literally been no sign of anyone except us. So I highly doubt we'll be using that move anytime soon." said the voice.
"Your probably right." Joseph said
Stomping on the ground a makeshift table is formed from the earth. taking a small rock in his hand, Joseph bashes the fish on it's head. He places a large sharpened stick through the fish and rests it over the fire to cook. After waiting seven minutes, Joseph takes the stick with the cooked fish and starts picking it apart to eat.
"Well it's not what I would prefer but I'll take what I can get. But to be honest I could go for some fish and chips right now." said Joseph eating.
"If only..." said the voice sadly.
Upon finishing his meal, Joseph walks over to his earth shelter to sleep through another night on this mysterious island.
[Deserted Island, The next morning]
(Joseph's point of view)
"Aaaaaahh fuck morning already." yawned Joseph waking up.
Checking his watch, the time is now nine thirty four.
"Oh shit is it time to get up now." said the voice slowly as if waking up.
"Yeah we'll better get the morning stretches out of the way. I got more training to do today." said Joseph
"That's right it's airbending practice today." said the voice tiredly.
"Yeah well I better head to the beach now so I can..." started Joseph
"I'M TELLING YOU I SAW SMOKE HERE AND LOOK I WAS RIGHT!" screamed a man's voice
"Well sorry for not believing you. After all, everything you do usually ends in failure." said the second man
Hearing the two men Joseph hides behind the trees to make sure he isn't seen. Looking out from his position he notices the small group of men.
"HEY FUCK YOU! AND WHERE IS THAT LITTLE SHIT WITH OUR THINGS?" yelled the first man
"I'm right behind you sir, I was just..." the young man started.
The first man came up to the young man and punches him in the jaw. the younger man is knocked out as he falls to the ground bleeding.
"DON'T THINK YOU CAN SPEAK TO ME WHEN YOU WISH BOY! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!" yelled the first man
"Calm yourself, we can just kill him later and tell Victor he fell of the mountain pass." said the second man tiredly.
Joseph looked on in disgust at the treatment of the younger man.
"Fuck me. He looks like he's no older than fourteen and their contemplating murdering him while standing next to the kid. No fuck this and them. I got to help that kid." Joseph thought
Joseph observes the two and notices they have guns and the second man in particular is carrying what looks to be a machete.
"Fuck these bastards are armed, but there not to big. Their shorter so I got the reach." whispered Joseph as he clenches his fists.
"Why not just earthbend these fuckers into the ground?" said the voice
"I should, but these two fuckers need to be taught a lesson. Besides that will be one of my backup plans anyway." thought Joseph
The two men laugh at the expense of the young man's pain. But unbeknownst to either of them Joseph stealthy made his way up behind the second man, taking the pistol out of his holster and holding him with the gun pointed at the second man's head.
"Arrgh, what the hell!?" grunted the second man
"Well hello there gentlemen, I'm afraid I'll have to stop you from hurting the boy." said Joseph as he realized what kind of weapon he was holding.
"What the hell, a flintlock? Why on earth would these fools be carrying around a relic for a weapon?" thought Joseph
"WHAT THE FUCK!" screamed the first man as he tried reaching for his gun.
"Ah, ah, ah. I would not do that if I were you." said Joseph pushing the barrel of the gun into the man's head.
Joseph quickly smacks the gun into the head of the second man knocking him out cold. Now pointing the gun towards the first man Joseph gave him a look that could kill.
"Now then take off your gun belt and through it over to the tree on the right." said Joseph gesturing with the pistol.
The first man slowly unbuckles his gun belt with his holstered pistol and throws it away.
"Okay, I through it away happy?" said the first man sarcastically.
"Alright, why are you three here?" asked Joseph still pointing the gun.
"We were sent to scout the island for our boss. I saw the smoke from the cliffs to the north of here. So I decided we should investigate to see if any of the resistance set up a base here." responded the first man
"Resistance? The fuck are you talking about? Speak up." said Joseph curious.
"Hehehe, the resistance is a bunch fucking sissies held up on the other side of the island fighting against us. I though whoever was here might be one of them. But I guess I was wrong." said the first man angrily.
"Okay what island is this then considering that there's people here after all." Joseph asked
"You don't know? We are on the Kalani Islands. Some of the furthest islands away from any marines, which is the greatest thing if your a pirate these days." said the first man
"Your pirates? Hahahhaahhahahahahaha. Oh god that is a good one." laughed Joseph
"OI! What's your problem! I sail with some of the most feared across the West Blue." said the first man
"WHAT!" said Joseph
"WHAT" said the voice
"No, No, No, NO! One Piece are fucking serious?" thought Joseph shocked at what he heard.
"Yeah this is bad." said the voice shocked as well.
"The 'West Blue' huh. You better not be fucking with be or else." said Joseph narrowing his eyes at the man.
"I'm not fucking with you." said the first man calmly.
"Kid, he said he was a pirate. Ask him about it." said the voice
"Why?" thought Joseph
"Because he's just giving off a weird vibe. I don't like the calm facade he's sporting now. So if tries anything shoot him." said the voice seriously.
"Okay, I got you." thought Joseph
"Alright then you said you were a pirate. Exactly what do you do?" asked Joseph
"Are you fucking stupid? I'm a pirate I drink, steal and kill. Oh and fuck the occasional whore where I can." said the first man
"So it's safe to assume that you've killed innocents and robbed probably just as many?" asked Joseph
"Yeah so what. I've killed and fucked plenty of whores across the Grand Line, who are you the marines?" asked the first man
"No just a concerned citizen, who can't seem to walk away from fights." said Joseph
"I guess so. Just I have some advice for you kid." said the first man
"And what advice are you talking about exactly?" asked Joseph
"Oh yeah. It's called shoot first talk later. NOW!" yelled the first man
Just as the first man finished his sentence Joseph shoots the first man through the head. Though after he fired the bullet, the second man who had regained consciousness and grabbed Joseph from behind in an attempt to choke him out, while Joseph had dropped the pistol in the surprise attack.
"YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT. AFTER I AM DONE WITH YOU, YOU"LL BE BEGGING ME TO KILL YOU!" screamed the second man trying to choke Joseph out.
"Ugh, You want to have a fight then eh? You skinny cunt. Then I will give you a fight." said Joseph as he elbowed the second man in the ribs.
"Argh, You fucking shit head!" grunted the second man in pain.
Joseph kept elbowing the man in the ribs until his grip loosened. Joseph broke out of his grip and spun around to deliver a strong right hook to the man's face. The man tried swinging at Joseph but it was clear that the advantage in skill was in Joseph's favor and proceeded to slip the man's punches and counter with more of his own. The second man tried to take him down from the waist, Joseph responded by repeatedly kneeing him in the chest and face. Grabbing the smaller man, Joseph throws him across into a tree. The fallen man laid on the ground barely moving. Joseph seeing that his opponent was down, he goes to check on his fallen friend.
"Jesus... What have I done." said Joseph as he looks at the dead man with a hole where his left eye should be.
"He had it coming. It was us or him, I mean if we hadn't shot him and he joined his buddy by picking up the gun then what? He shoots us in the head and walks away. No fuck him and his friend. Just think on how many people they've hurt. If we really are in the one piece world then there will be more pirates. Not every pirate is good. You aren't going soft on me now?" asked the voice
"No of course not. It's just... nothing." said Joseph
"This isn't the first time you know?" said the voice
"That was different." said Joseph sternly.
"How was it different, he was a piece of shit." said the voice
"And he's gone, shot and dead. No need to bring it up again." said Joseph seriously.
"These men were killers, thieves and overall cunts. We did the world a favor." said the voice
"Hmmm, maybe." Joseph thought
Joseph looks over and sees the dead mans gun belt. Walking over to it, Joseph picks up the black leather gun belt and puts it around his waist. Joseph hangs the belt a little lower than his own regular belt.
"Well at least I've got a new belt out of this. Now let's see what the kid knows..." Joseph thought before hearing someone screaming.
"AAAAAAAAARH!" screamed the second man running at Joseph with a machete.
"Great." said Joseph as he pulls out his new pistol and quickly aims it at the man running at him.
Just as the man reaches striking range Joseph fires the pistol at the man, the bullet going straight through the mans neck, he stops and staggers for a moment before falling down to his knees. The bullet hole his neck became even more noticeable as blood poured from the wound. A moment passes and the man finally falls over.
"Bad luck mate." said Joseph holstering his gun.
Walking over to the now dead pirate, he removes his holster and walks to the other pistol. Picking up and holstering the other pistol, Joseph attaches the holster to his gun belt. Joseph then grabs the machete from the dead pirate and takes it's respective sheath. Attaching his new melee weapon to his belt he takes a deep breath.
"Now I better wake the kid up." said Joseph calmly
Seeing the young man still unconscious Joseph kicks his torso lightly to wake him up. Seeing the kid stir, Joseph steps back and watches as the kid begins to wake up.
"To think he was out cold through all of that." said the voice
"Yeah the kid doesn't seem like much of a fighter." said Joseph shaking his head.
"Ugh, where am I?" said the young man waking up.
"Morning sunshine." said Joseph
"whaaaaat?" said the kid as he looked at Joseph.
The young mans eye's went to the two men on the ground bleeding. He looked straight back at Joseph with eyes full of terror.
"AAAAAAAAHH, PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!" screamed the young man backing up.
"Jesus kid, calm down. I'm not going to kill you. Not unless you give me a reason to." Joseph smirked stepping forward.
"The kid looks like he is ready to shit himself." the voice laughed
"Boy!" Joseph said loudly.
"Uh, Yes sir?" responded the young man
"What is your name?" asked Joseph
"My name is Francis sir." said Francis
"Okay Francis, how old are you?" Joseph asked
"I just turned fifteen sir." said Francis
"So you chose to sail with killers, the fuck is wrong with you?" asked Joseph sternly.
"I didn't want to kill anybody, I just wanted to explore the sea." said Francis quickly.
"There are other ways to do it kid and sailing with scumbags like those two is not the answer. Because I'm telling you right now what happened to them can happen to you as well. Especially in their line of work." said Joseph
"I suppose. I guess I jumped at the opportunity to venture the West Blue, not taking in to consideration of what might possibly happen." said Francis
"Now on to more important things. I've been stuck here for months and I need to find civilization. These dead fucks mentioned a resistance on this island, what's that all about?" asked Joseph
"Well I was brought into the crew to be a scout and navigator. It's why I came here with these two, we were supposed to map out the land here to gain a foothold in the area. I've only been in the crew for around a month. I work for a guy named Victor. He and the rest of his crew invaded the Kalani islands." said Francis
"So Victor is in charge here?" asked Joseph
"No, he works for someone else. He is just the overseer of this island. There are three individual islands that make up the area referred to as the Kalani Islands. From what I know Victor and whom ever his boss is invaded all three islands and established them as their territory. The big boss made Victor the overseer along with another guy, but I do not know his name. The resistance was formed when this islands main village fell during Victor's invasion. Those who managed to escape set up a small base of operations on the other side of the smaller mountain, while the main village is right on the other side of the bigger mountain." said Francis
"How close are these two places?" asked Joseph
"Oh yeah they are actually not that far away from each other. You see they both follow a main road directly leading to each others bases. But while it is easy to reach both places, they are also heavily guarded. Though the way it has been going right now as of late, Victor has been on the winning end of conflicts." said Francis
"Do you like making people suffer Francis?" Joseph asked
"No I don't but I do not wish to die." said Francis quickly.
"Look kid, do you have any maps or any important info on Victor's operations." asked Joseph changing the subject.
"Yeah I made a few copies. Here, these maps contain strategic points of Victor's operation. Guns, ammunition, food and raw materials taken from the mines." said Francis as he handed Joseph the maps.
"Well look at that. The kid isn't completely useless after all." said the voice
"Cheers kid. Now can you point us in the direction of the main road you were talking about before." said Joseph as he folded the maps and put them into his pocket.
"Yes sir, you see the two mountains. Well there is a narrow but dangerous passage that will lead to the other side of the island. Then there will be steep walk down the base of the mountain and then soon enough you'll hit the main road. Once you make it to the main road you head right for the main village and left for the resistance hideout." said Francis
"Cool, but what's so dangerous about this passage in between the mountains?" asked Joseph
"It's prone to having boulders crash down in dangerous rock slides." Francis responded
"Well then we best get moving." said Joseph
"What we?" said Francis confused.
"Yes we and besides would you rather spend a whole day getting back with no help or have assistance and be on the other side of this island around lunch time?" asked Joseph
"What? You can't possibly be serious sir." said Francis confused.
Joseph Just smirked as he stepped right next to Francis and stomped on the ground causing a giant earth pillar to rise beneath them.
"AAAAAAAAAAAH, OH GOD!" yelled Francis
"Hahahahahaha." Joseph laughed shaking his head at Francis' reaction.
"Your a devil fruit user?" asked Francis shaking.
"And if I am?" asked Joseph
"It's official there is no possible way he could be scared even more shit less than he is now." said the voice giggling.
"I'll take your silence as 'I promise not to fuck with you sir'. Because if you even so much as look at me the wrong or try something I don't like then I will put a bullet in your skull, got that?" Joseph stated
Francis could only nod his head at the man who could kill him without trying.
"Smart kid. Unlike the other two." said the voice approvingly.
"Well then, you better hold on kid because it will get bumpy." said Joseph
Moving his arms back and forth. Joseph bends the pillar of earth forwards in the direction of the mountains.
[Kalani Islands, One hour later]
(Joseph's point of view)
"Alright kid the mountains are getting closer. Are you ready?" asked Joseph as he was earthbending their way to the mountain.
"I think I'm going to be sick sir." said Francis desperately holding on to Joseph.
"Kid! Directions." said Joseph loudly.
"Okay, okay head towards the left and their should be one more cliff. Once we go down the cliff the path in between the mountains should be there." said Francis
"Alright and don't even think of throwing up on me. Or else I'll throw you off this ride, got it?" Joseph ordered
Francis only nodded. Joseph took that as a 'yes sir' and continued to the final cliff. With his arms moving continuously Joseph kept the pacing going for another fifteen minutes. Soon enough the two teens made it to the final cliff.
"Oi, kid were at the final cliff." said Joseph
"Yeah okay cool, now we just head down there to the base of the mountain and follow the path. I already said this sir." said Francis
"If only he knew." said the voice giggling.
"Kid look, I have a way of getting down there and well it won't be something you'll like." said Joseph
"But your going to do it anyway." said Francis knowingly.
"Hold on." Joseph said as he pulled his arms back.
Francis held on for dear life as Joseph jumped off the rock pillar and landed on the cliff. Francis thinking the worst was over, unfortunately was mistaken as as Joseph moved his arms up then down as he propelled himself into the air using a piece of earth. Francis was still screaming on his back most likely think what kind of madman would jump of a cliff. Despite the scream Joseph continued his decent. For a quick second he was able to she the mountain pass right below him. After what felt like an eternity Joseph and Francis land a small distance from the paths beginning.
"See not so bad." said Joseph laughing.
"God, look at his face. Hahahaha." laughed the voice.
"Your insane! We could have died." said Francis panicking.
"And you could have died back there to those two pricks If I didn't decide to step in remember." said Joseph with his hand hovering over his pistol.
"Aaaaah, yes sir." said Francis not wanting to get shot.
"Great now come on boy." said Joseph waving him to follow.
[Kalani Mountain Pass, Two hours later]
(Joseph's point of view)
"So were nearly there?" asked Joseph
"Yes when we exit from the other side of the mountain there will be a short trip we'll have to take downwards. Then we will come across a fork in the road, to the right is the occupied village and to the left will head to the resistance." said Francis
"Alright sweet." Joseph responded
"Um, sir?" asked Francis
"What is it?" Joseph asked back.
"Why is it you want to head to the resistance? I mean your very strong that much is obvious, but if you were to join Victor you could be payed handsomely for your assistance." said Francis
"Hmmm, let me ask you something kid. Why would I help some piece of shit who invaded someone's homeland? Who also terrorizes the people want to liberate their home from one of the men who took it? Who takes the resources gathered by the hard working people, while he kicks his feet up?" asked Joseph
Francis looked stunned at what he just heard. But he couldn't help but agree on that.
"I guess your right sir, Victor can be cruel." said Francis with his head down.
Joseph looks at Francis with a calculating eye.
"This kid. As far as I'm aware, he is just some wannabe pirate seeking adventure out on the blue sea. Look at him he's not ready for this kind of life. Not now and probably never." said the voice
"You got that right." thought Joseph
"Hey Francis. Have you thought of what your going to do when you get back to your boss?" asked Joseph
"Oh shit! I haven't even thought of that. Oh god how do I explain what happened?" said Francis panicking.
"Francis, calm down. You'll be alright." said Joseph
"No you don't understand. Victor is a madman, there's no telling what he'd do to me." said Francis
"Look calm down. Why don't you come with me instead?" asked Joseph
"Listen I can't come with you either. The resistance will have me executed if they find out that I work for Victor. At least if Victor comes after me, I will expect it." said Francis
"Fucking buzzkill." said the voice
"Hey were coming up near the end of the path." said Francis in a low tone.
Joseph just shook his head as Francis took the lead. Walking at a faster pace, the two young men came closer to the end of the mountain path.
[Kalani Islands]
(Joseph's point of view)
"Finally we made through." said Joseph stretching his arms.
"This way sir." Francis said walking down to the forest.
Joseph and Francis walked along down the mountain trail to the main road through the forest. Though to Joseph's delight he could actual see passed some of the trees unlike the other side of the island. Soon enough the two men arrived at the main road just as Francis said.
"Looks like you were telling the truth. Hey kid don't tell anyone what happened out there, understand?" said Joseph
"Yes sir, I won't breathe a single word about any of this." said Francis
"Good. So this way right?" asked Joseph pointing his finger down the road.
"Yes, that is the way to the resistance's hideout." said Francis
Joseph just nodded his head to Francis as he walked past him. Just as he was leaving Francis called out to him.
"Wait!" yelled Francis
Joseph stops, turning his head around slightly to catch a glimpse at Francis.
"I just wanted to say thank you. You had no obligation to save me. So again thank you sir, may you have a great adventure where ever you chose to go." said Francis with a smile.
Francis turned around and began walking the other way.
"Hey kid!" Joseph yelled
Now it was Francis who turned back around to face Joseph.
"Sir?" Francis said confused.
"Take care of yourself kid. You aren't a bad person, but there comes a time when a man's got to make a decision for themselves. You should get out of that life kid. Because the longer you walk the path of a pirate, the more painful it will be for you when you eventually get caught in fight you can't win. Regardless I hope you find a more peaceful adventure Francis. I hope our paths one cross again on better terms." said Joseph
Turning back around Joseph continued walking down the road to his destination, not seeing Francis still standing there with a smile on his face.
"Thank you sir, I hope we'll meet once more on better terms." whispered Francis
[Kalani Island Main Road, Twenty minutes later]
(Joseph's point of view)
"I really hope nothing bad happens to the kid." Joseph whispered
"I'm with you there. But I have faith in the kid." said the voice
"Yeah same." said Joseph smiling
"So pray tell what's the game plan with this 'resistance' were going to?" asked the voice
"Well it's pretty simple, I offer the maps Francis gave me a bargaining chip for some information on where we are and for protection." said Joseph
"Protection? What the fuck do you mean by protection. You have all the protection you need with your bending, the two pistols and the machete you took of those dead guys." said the voice
"The kind of protection in which I can have some people watching my back while I sleep and as long as I oppose their enemy what reason is there to turn me away. From what Francis had said, this Victor guy has been hammering this group down repeatedly. If that's anything to go on then they will need all the help they can get." said Joseph
"Smart thinking. But what if they try to put a bullet in your skull?" the voice asked
"Then will have another fight on our hands then won't we." said Joseph
Joseph kept walking until he saw a small check point further down.
"I think that's one of the check points." thought Joseph
"Yeah but where are the guards? Francis said they would be protected." said the voice
Moving forward next to the small barricades, Joseph inspected the area looking for anything suspicious.
"Something doesn't feel right." said the voice
"Your telling me." thought Joseph as continued to look around.
Not finding anything of use, Joseph gets a bad feeling from the abandoned checkpoint. As he was about to move on down the road he heard a gunshot. Soon enough ten armed men came out from behind the trees. Stomping on the earth whilst raising both arms, a wall of earth comes up from the ground. Using a forward palm thrust, Joseph launches the rock wall at seven of the men. The final three ran at him prepared to shoot. Joseph pulls out his two pistols and pistol whips two of the men that came running at him, with third trying to take a shot at Joseph with his musket. But before he could fire a shot, Joseph shot the the barrel of the musket causing the man to miss. Joseph runs up quickly to the man and smacks him across the face with his pistol. Seeing the men incapacitated Joseph holsters his pistols. Though the fight was not over as another person entered the fight.
"Oh fuck me, now what!?" said the voice
"Wait a minute is that a woman?" thought Joseph looking at his opponent.
Said woman took a step further until she was only five metres away from Joseph. Only when she reached that spot did she speak.
"You have some balls pirate. Thinking you can just stroll your way down here with absolutely no repercussions huh?" said the mysterious woman
"Are you with the resistance then?" asked Joseph
"You already knew that pirate." said the mysterious woman angrily.
"Oh god damn it. Listen lady this was all just a misunderstanding." said Joseph holding up his hands peacefully.
"Well allow me to clear up this situation up for you. By slitting your filthy throat." said the mysterious woman
The woman pulled out a long dagger and charged Joseph. But can Joseph stop her from gutting him just as he was this close to reaching some form of civilization.
Next Chapter: Trust Is Earned
Okay that was chapter 2 of Justice. I hope you all are enjoying it so far.
So let me start off with saying that in this chapter was just giving Joseph an introduction into the one piece world. He has meet new people good and bad. But will he continue to survive?
He gained new weapons and equipment:
- two pistols
- one gun belt
- two holsters
- one machete
Now Joseph will need more than just bending to survive. He'll need weapons as well. Because in the one piece world relying too much on one's powers usually doesn't end well. So for the most part, when bending the elements is not required a few punches and bullets should do the trick.
Do not worry there will be more bending in future chapters down the line.
