Justice

Chapter 3: Trust Is Earned

Joseph has managed to almost find his way to civilization. Thanks to a little help from Francis, Joseph is able to locate the resistance movement on the Kalani Islands. Unfortunately Joseph is ambushed by a small squadron, though they are quickly defeated a new opponent appears. Realizing his wrong doings Joseph tries to end the conflict in peace to no avail.

[Kalani main road, Kalani Islands]

(Joseph's point of view)

"Oh shit!" said Joseph as he dodged the dagger aimed for his chest.

"Why won't you just stay still!" said the woman angrily.

"Look for the love of god woman, I am not your enemy." said Joseph as he evaded the dagger again.

"Bullshit I won't fall for your lies." said the woman

Joseph kept trying to dodge her attacks as best as he could, but she was quickly gaining on him. Eventually one of them would have to slip up.

"Look if you don't stop trying to attack me, I'll have to take you down myself." said Joseph

"Go for it, make your death worth it then tough guy." said the woman still slashing.

The mysterious woman tries to slash Joseph's torso, only for the man in question to sidestep the incoming attack. Following up with an attack of his own Joseph quickly delivers a strong wind blast from his hands, directly to the woman's torso. The woman was sent into the air briefly before hitting the ground sliding into a nearby tree. Forming small earth tiles around his hands, Joseph fires the two rock gloves at the young woman. The first punching her in the face and the second one grabbing her wrist, pinning it to the tree. Seeing his opponent defeated Joseph walks over to check that he has not done any fatal damage to the young woman.

"Hey are you still alive?" asked Joseph

"Fuck you." coughed the woman

"Please, I am not here to fight you." said Joseph honestly.

"Yeah after what you've done here. I definitely see you did not come for a fight." said the woman sarcastically.

"Look you attacked me first. Besides I was trying to find the resistance to make a deal with you lot." said Joseph

"A deal? What could you possibly offer us?" asked the woman

"Help for one and I have some information that could be useful." said Joseph

"And why would I just except your help?" the woman asked

"Considering I just beat you and the men that came with you, I have more than shown that I can fight. I have my own weapons and I have information that I stole off of Victors lackeys. After I put a bullet in them." said Joseph

"Shit, well alright. Do not mistake this situation tough guy. I still don't trust you." said the woman

"Well can you at least tell me your name miss." said Joseph nicely.

"My names Julia, don't forget it." said Julia

"Okay then Julia, My names Joseph." Joseph said

With a wave of his hand, the rock glove that was embedded into the tree crumbled. Joseph then pulled Julia to her feet.

"See that was not so hard." said Joseph calmly.

"Sure. If you are really here to help then I suggest you help me get these boys back to base. That sound good enough for you tough guy?" asked Julia

"Fine by me." said Joseph

Taking a closer look at the young woman he could see that she was actually quite pretty despite trying to cut him before.

"She's actually kind of cute. Well at now that she is not trying to kill me." Joseph thought

"Shoulder length brown hair, fair skin and hot as fuck is what you actually mean." said the voice

"Would you be quiet. The fuck is wrong with you?" said Joseph

"I am you with less of a filter." said the voice

"Oh god I hope I don't have to put up with this forever." thought Joseph tiredly.

Joseph and Julia walked over to the unconscious men trying to wake them up. Managing to get five of the men to awaken, Julia then orders that each men carry one unconscious man back to their base of operations. Another fifteen minutes of silent walking the group reach the resistance hideout.

[Resistance Hideout, Kalani Islands]

(Third person point of view)

"Well here we are. Welcome to the resistance Joseph. Now wait here I have to inform our leader about a new arrival." said Julia rubbing her jaw.

Joseph nodded his head as two men with rifles on their backs. Most likely to watch him in case he tries anything.

"So how are you boys doing?" asked Joseph trying to start up a conversation.

The two men just stared at Joseph in silence, just watching.

"Alright I see your not much for small talk." said Joseph

Looking down to his watch Joseph starts to wonder how long he has to stand here. Fifteen minutes later, a third man comes along.

"Alright boys, get back to your positions." the strange man ordered.

"Yes sir!" the men responded.

"So they do speak." said Joseph

"Yes the do. Joseph was it? Please follow me, we can talk in my tent over this way" said the strange man

The strange man led Joseph to a large white tent. Upon entering he could see a table in the center, with what looks to be battle plans of some kind. As well as bounty posters. The strange man walked over to grab the white coat draped over the seat. Taking the white coat the man put the coat on, though instead of putting his arms through the sleeves he placed the coat over his shoulders. Joseph had an idea who this man was.

"So am I correct in thinking you are the leader here?" Joseph wondered

"Yep that's me, names Chamberlain kid. commodore Chamberlain of the eighty ninth branch of the marines, West Blue division." said Chamberlain

"Ah a marine officer. That explains the coat then." said the voice

"Names Joseph. It's a pleasure to meet you commodore." said Joseph holding his hand out.

"Pleasure to meet you Joseph." said Chamberlain shaking Joseph's hand.

"Listen I came here for a reason." said Joseph

"Yes, Julia was telling me before about what happened back there. She said you could fight and you wanted to help." said Chamberlain

"Yes I did. I need help and I thought this would be the better place to start." said Joseph

"And why not join the pirate horde, up the way from here?" asked Chamberlain curious

"Look I won't lie to you. I've been stuck on the other side of this island for at least four months or more. The only reason I knew how there was people here, is when three men discovered my campsite. Their were pirates and well it did not end well. I killed all three of them that were out there. Took their weapon's and took their maps in order to find my way here." said Joseph

"You still haven't answered my question." Chamberlain stated

"I came here because it felt like the right thing to do. Besides would you help someone that invades a persons home, then hordes everything for his friends and himself?" said Joseph

"No I would not. That's why I am on this side of the fight." said Chamberlain

"The same can be said for me." said Joseph

Chamberlain looks at Joseph with calculating look. As if he was judging him, a minute goes by until Joseph breaks the silence.

"Is there a place that I can stay commodore?" asked Joseph

"I had Julia prepare a tent and a bed for you. When you walk out of here, go left and three tents down. The last one down is yours kid." said Chamberlain

"Thank you sir." said Joseph

"Hey before you leave you said you took some maps off of those pirates you were speaking about. Do you mind if I have a look at them?" inquired Chamberlain

"Sure here you go commodore." Joseph said as he took the maps out of his pocket and handing them over.

"Alright, thank you. I'll call for you if I need something else okay. Your dismissed." said Chamberlain unfolding the maps.

[Resistance Hideout, Kalani Islands]

(Joseph's point of view)

After handing the maps to Chamberlain, Joseph leaves the commodore's tent and walks to his new home. Upon entering Joseph notices a small single folding bed, a small mirror, a sharp looking knife and a bucket of water. Sitting down on his new bed, Joseph contemplates the events of today's adventure.

"At least we are not dead, am i right?" said the voice

"Yeah but..." Joseph started

"Hold it there slick. People can hear pretty easily through these tents. I think it would be best if you just spoke to me through your thoughts to avoid people from listening in." said the voice

"Okay then as I was saying, that meeting could have probably gone differently." thought Joseph

"Well yeah, the commodore could have just told us to leave. But did you see the look he gave us? He clearly does not trust us." stated the voice

"You don't have to tell me that. I saw the same look." thought Joseph

"Well at least we know were we are now." said the voice

"Yeah one piece. Just fucking great. Don't get me wrong I like one piece, at least when I didn't have to be a part of it. Well at least we made it. But as of right now considering our position and where we are now hold up. Do you have any suggestions or plans as to what we do now?" Joseph thought

"I have a few ideas." said the voice

"Well go on, don't keep me waiting." thought Joseph

"Okay here's what I got. We are in one piece right? Think about it. You have the main struggle between the pirates and the marines. Government corruption, slavery, injustice, racism, devil fruit users and ancient weapons capable of devastating islands. Look we have an opportunity to do something good here. Now we could help out with the resistance here and try and help the people of the Kalani Islands or we could get a boat and row our way out of this mess." said the voice

"Well I am not running. Chamberlain took a gamble here by allowing me to stay here. If I leave now, I'm no more selfish than a run of the mill pirate. I'm staying and that's final. These people deserve someone that can help them stand up to guy's like Victor." Joseph thought

"Wow, how passionate of you. Well I guess were staying then. But afterwards we will have to make a decision on where to go from there. We could chose to be a pirate or a marine. Because we both know that if and when the government gets wind of someone with abilities such as ours, they will find us if they really want to." said the voice

"You must be out of your mind if you think I'm going to be a pirate. But your right even if we succeed here, Chamberlain will have to report it. Still I'm not becoming a pirate, but then again I don't want to just take orders from every shit heel in the navy." thought Joseph

"You don't have to. Chamberlain's a commodore, he holds a surprisingly high rank for someone out in the four blues." said the voice

"What are you talking about?" asked Joseph

"Maybe if we help Chamberlain here, we can get him to help us enter the marines. Listen, talk to him about it later and we'll see where to go from there." said the voice

"Okay I like that Idea, we'll wait for the right time." Joseph thought laying down on his new bed.

[Resistance Hideout, Kalani Islands]

[Four hours later]

(Joseph's point of view)

A few hours had gone by and Joseph was relaxing as best he could despite the situation.

"You know it feels good to have a bed again." thought Joseph

"It beats sleeping on the ground." said the voice

"Ain't that the truth. Being an earthbender still doesn't make it anymore..." Joseph thought

"Hey new guy." said a random soldier interrupting.

Joseph turned his head over to the entrance to see one of Chamberlain's men standing there waiting.

"Yeah?" Joseph responded

"The commodore would like to see you now." said the marine

"Hmmm, it would seem the time to have that little talk is now." thought Joseph

"So it would seem." said the voice

"Hey are you even listening to me?" said the marine

"Yeah I heard you, I'm coming." said Joseph getting off the bed.

Getting off the bed, Joseph followed the young marine to the commodore's tent. The two men entered to find Chamberlain patiently standing at the table in the center of the large tent.

"I've brought him sir." said the marine

"Ah excellent. Your dismissed." said Chamberlain

The man nodded and left the tent.

"You wanted to see me commodore." said Joseph

"Yes I did. Please take a seat Joseph, there are some things I wish to discuss with you now." said Chamberlain gesturing to the seat in front of him.

Joseph complied and sat in the offered seat.

"How are your new quarters?" asked Chamberlain

"There fine sir." answered Joseph

"That's good. Well I suppose I should explain why I called for you. But first I need to ask you a quick question." said Chamberlain

"What is the question sir." said Joseph

"Do you know the Kalani islands well or at all?" asked Chamberlain rubbing his chin.

"No I don't sir. Like I had said at our first meeting, I was marooned on the other side of the island with nothing more than the clothes on my back for the last four months. Until I was discovered by pirates." Joseph responded

"Okay then well I think it is best that I explain some details about this place to help you get your bearings straight. This island were on now specifically is called Aiwei, the island to the west is called Triburn and the island facing the south is called Ouran. These three islands make up the collective area known as the Kalani islands. Again there is a reason for me telling you this as it will help in the explanation." said Chamberlain

Joseph merely sat in his seat waiting and Chamberlain took that as his seat to continue.

"I'm sure you have noticed that we aren't exactly doing well. But we are making do with what we can. Roughly three months ago I accompanied a young fellow officer for a routine scouting tour around the area. Once we had reached a viewing range of the Kalani islands we were meant to turn back and head back to base. Except we had a problem one of the islands made a desperate emergency call. The call came in from Ouran island, we responded to the call and arrived there shortly after. By the time we got there pirates had just invaded. We tried our best to defend the civilians but we were outnumbered and outgunned. I lost a third of my men to the initial attack. We had three ships with us during the scouting tour but after the first island fell, one of the schooners that came with us was sunk by a pirate ship trying to stop us. The second schooner was destroyed trying to defend Triburn island and my ship was captured by the pirates soon after. Despite escaping in a few row boats with around a dozen men with me, it still wasn't enough to defend this island." said Chamberlain

"Jesus, looks like things did not go well at all." said Joseph

"I know right. Anyway most of our communication equipment was either destroyed or taken during this ordeal. Not only that but they also kidnapped the young captain that was with me. As far as I'm aware they are using him as a way to deter any other marines coming this way, not that any other marines even bother with these islands." said Chamberlain

"Why do you say that?" asked Joseph

"The Kalani islands are a neutral territory here in the west blue. The government has no true interest or obligation to defend the people here. That also means by extension the marines." said Chamberlain

"So why did you decide to help when you knew you did not really have to?" inquired Joseph

"Because it is the right thing to do, allied country or not no one should have to just suffer at the hands of a pirate horde. Avoiding these people's struggle would have gone against the very reason I joined the marines, to help people." said Chamberlain honestly.

"I'm starting to like this guy a little more." said the voice approvingly.

"Here I want you to take a look at this." said Chamberlain

Chamberlain opened a folder that was sitting on the table and revealed it's contents to mainly be consisting of bounty posters.

"Bounty posters." Joseph stated

"Exactly. These are the bounty posters of the people responsible for invading these islands and bombarding my ships." said Chamberlain

"Okay then, run them down for me." said Joseph

Chamberlain hands one of the bounty posters to Joseph. The image on the front shows a younger man with slick black hair and sporting a crooked smirk.

"The man who orchestrated the invasion of Ouran island and the annexation of Triburn island is a pirate by the name of Kai. Infamously known under the epitaph the 'prince of sea' and he's worth two hundred million beli. This crazy kid also formed his own crew called the royalty pirates a little while back. Kai is an extremely dangerous super rookie who contended against 'fire fist' Ace for a time, before amassing a large fleet of ships and stopped battling fire fist. He is a menace to marines and civilians alike, though he mostly organised robberies and set up underworld connections. Though he does not personally kill civilians wherever he goes make no mistake, he's a killer." said Chamberlain

"Jesus, two hundred million. Fuck I did not think we would be fighting against somebody with that high of a bounty in one of the blues." said the voice shocked.

"Is there anything else about him?" asked Joseph

"Yeah Kai has been a pain for the navy since he first appeared on our radar. He has raided smaller marine bases and capture over a dozen marine ships during his time in the Grand Line. He also amassed a fortune from illegal businesses and large scale robberies. He must have found these islands to be his perfect area to set a permanent base of operations. It's remote, neutral territory and most undefended. Perfect for someone like him. He also has a fleet of ships blocking all attempts to escape. Because of his large fortune Kai is known for hiring a lot of crew members and freelancing mercenaries to be apart of his 'royal navy' and man all of the ships under his command. He also had all of our communication equipment either destroyed or stolen. So we can't call for help, not that it would change anything. Our branch is small and it would take too long to get any reinforcements here quickly." said Chamberlain

"Kai huh? I'll have to be careful." Joseph thought

Joseph took the next poster observing the man's picture. The image depicted a strong looking man with a frown and large scar running down his face.

"The the picture on the poster you have in your hand is the man were fighting against now, Victor. The enforcer of Kai's crew. Victor is one mean son of a bitch. He's Kai's most trusted strongman and rightfully so, the man is dangerous and vicious. He's worth one hundred and two million beli, the second highest in the crew. Victor is extremely brutal but also extremely loyal to Kai. He is not a man who breaks easy, our luck fighting his men have not been going well as of late. He is a man of few words and there's not much else to him." Chamberlain said

"Yeah he looks mean alright. He definitely won't be easy to get rid of." said the voice

"Hate to think how many men have fallen against this guy." Joseph thought

"With a face like that you can tell he's seen some shit." commented the voice

"Okay next on the list, 'The Poisoner'." said Chamberlain

"The poisoner, sounds interesting." said Joseph grabbing the next poster.

Joseph took the next poster only to see a black silhouette and a question mark where a picture should be.

"I was about to mention. Nobody knows who the poisoner is, only that he is overseer of Triburn island." said Chamberlain

"Well is there anything you can tell me about him?" asked Joseph

"The poisoner is a notorious figure that has eluded the marine intelligence unit for a long time. All we know is the poisoner is a male and just like Victor, strongly loyal to Kai. This pirate is worth ninety five million beli and is extremely dangerous. As the epitaph implies, this pirate prefers stealth in the form of poisons." said Chamberlain

"Okay pretty vague but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it." Joseph thought

"Moving on. Up next we have pirate by he name of John. A native of the east blue and usually drunk half the time, this man is Victor's lieutenant here on the island. While Victor is busy with his role as overseer of Aiwei island, John acts as Victor's direct link to the bulk of his men. He's worth eleven million beli. He's a decent fighter but he has a weakness to alcohol. He is known to be a drunk and if he wasn't as capable every other day then he would have been killed by now." said Chamberlain

Joseph nodded and went to grab the last poster. This poster depicted a middle age man with glasses. From this view the man looked practically harmless.

"Who's this guy he doesn't look like he fits with the rest of this crew?" Joseph asked

"He looks so out of place in comparison to the others we have seen." the voice said

"Now this guy's name is Gordon, he is Kai's accountant. He isn't a fighter and the only reason he even has a bounty is because he has been sailing with the royalty pirates. Gordon is a native of the Grand Line and known to be pretty timid. Similar to Victor and John, Gordon is the lieutenant to the poisoner and is the crew's main accountant. If anyone wants to try and attack Kai's piggy bank then Gordon is the man you start with. He is one of the only people who possibly knows who the poisoner really is and he has an active bounty of seven million beli. He doesn't look dangerous but who knows he might have a few tricks up his sleeve." said Chamberlain

"John and Gordon's bounties are more or less a fraction in comparison to the other three. Not mention by the way you made it out there should be more people in this crew as opposed to five." said Joseph putting the poster down.

"Your right John and Gordon's bounties are very low in comparison to the others, but the reason they have bounties is because they are part of Kai's inner circle at least in Gordon's case. As for John well he is just a idiot who can fight. The other members of the crew are disposable in Kai's eyes. He pays a few people in a bar, they are employed by him for a time and when their usefulness runs out or their performance is not satisfactory then Kai kills them. His inner circle is essentially the only members he actually cares about as they have special positions in the crew. You can call them the permanent members if you will. Besides John and Gordon are in no way more of a significant threat than Kai or Victor." said Chamberlain

"So why tell me all of this, I'm not a marine or a native of these islands. Why explain all of this so quickly." asked Joseph

"The reason I am explaining this to you is because I, no we need your help. As you know already we are not doing well at all, Victor and John have been pushing our attempts at fighting them back with great success. It is only a matter of time before Victor sends John down here to slaughter us all. He knows we will not bow down, so his only option is to kill us. Joseph we have not just marines but civilians living here too. There are women, children and elderly folks here who lost their homes. I want to help them all, but I am only one man and I can admit when I need help. I don't know where you are from or what your goals are, but I am willing to trust you. So I want to offer you a place in the eighty ninth branch." said Chamberlain

"Well that was easy." said the voice stunned.

"Your telling me." thought Joseph surprised.

"Well what is your decision?" Chamberlain asked

"This seems a little unorthodox." said Joseph

"I know it seems very unorthodox, but if you decide to join we will evaluate your skills and assign you a rank." said Chamberlain

"Assign a rank? I thought you have to start at the bottom and work your way up." said Joseph

"Normally you would. Practically every new recruit is required to start at the chore boy position and move their way up. But there have been instances where the government has drafted individuals into certain ranks. Now I do not have the authority to grant you a commissioned rank, though I can see fit to grant you a non-commissioned rank from seaman recruit to petty officer. Now there are higher ranks in the non-commissioned sector but you would need to earn those ranks. I can only assign up to the petty officer class regardless of strength." said Chamberlain

"What should I do. Am I ready for this?" Joseph thought

"Just give him the answer that is the most truthful." said the voice

Chamberlain looked at Joseph patiently waiting for an answer.

"I accept the offer commodore." said Joseph

"Excellent. Listen I know you must have had a long journey to get here, so go back to your tent and we'll evaluate your skills tomorrow. Oh and don't worry about trying to get food. We usually have two men come by with bowls of stew around seven. Okay your dismissed." said Chamberlain

"Yes sir." said Joseph

Joseph left the commodores tent and looked towards his watch to check the time. Joseph eyes widened at the time.

"Wait a minute has it been that long? It's six in the evening already. Man that took longer than I thought. I better get back to my tent and wait for dinner." thought Joseph walking back to his tent.

[Resistance Hideout, Aiwei Island/Kalani Islands]

[Twenty minutes later]

(Chamberlain's point of view)

"Well at least I have a new recruit. The more help the better." thought Chamberlain

Chamberlain grabbed the bounty posters and organised them back into the folder. While in the middle of clearing up the table Julia appeared at the entrance of the tent.

"Oi, Commodore. Can I come in?" asked Julia

"Sure Julia." said Chamberlain

Julia walked into the tent and stood in front of the center table. Julia did not say a word and continued to stare at the commodore as if she was waiting for something.

"Yes Julia what is it?" the commodore sighed

"The new guy. I want to know where you stand in regards to him." said Julia crossing her arms.

"Look we need all the help we can get and he managed to defeat you and ten other men. If anything he could have killed you and walked away peacefully but he didn't. He could have left you there for John to come and finish the job. That and he seems like an alright kid." said Chamberlain

"There is something up with him and It does not feel right." said Julia staring directly at Chamberlain.

"I completely understand but Kai has taken all possibility of getting help and we literally need all the help we can take. My gut is telling me he's okay." said Chamberlain

Julia just shakes her head at the commodore.

"Oh come on Julia he will be fine I have faith in that he will be a great help here. He even gave me maps detailing multiple resource stations in Victor's territory. Food, weapons, money and even Victor's personal supply of gold. This has confirmed that Kai and the rest of those prates plan on staying here for a very long time." said Chamberlain

"Trust is not to be freely given it must be earned Chamberlain, regardless of what information he has brought forward. So what did you talk to him about?" asked Julia

"I asked him If he would be willing to join the marines, specifically my branch. I offered him any non-commissioned rank up to the petty officer position. I will be evaluating his abilities and general skills tomorrow morning. So I will need you to get some men together, about five and meet in the training area tomorrow morning at eight." said Chamberlain

"Are you fucking kidding me! You are going to offer the new guy a shiny new rank with open arms!?" said Julia annoyed.

"Julia if you hadn't noticed we are struggling as it is. We need as much help as required and considering the circumstance we will need all hands on deck here. Besides I will still be in charge not him." said Chamberlain

"I still won't be taking orders from him until he earns that right." said Julia

"Look we have no other option that would be more beneficial. My ship was captured, over three quarters of my men are now dead or captured and the other ships that accompanied us are now at the bottom of the ocean. Victor and John will attack us sooner or later, at this point Julia I need to have faith that our new comer can help us. Just have some faith." said Chamberlain

"Whatever, I'm leaving." said Julia

"Julia maybe you should go and find Pandora. I think it would be best if you hung around her for a few hours." said Chamberlain

"Yeah whatever." said Julia walking out of Chamberlain's tent.

Chamberlain walked towards the seat at the table and sat down. Resting his head down on the table, Chamberlain could only ponder at what is to come.

"I hope we can get through this. I know I am taking a huge gamble on the kid, but I have a feeling he can help. I just have to have faith. I wonder if the boys have dinner ready yet." said Chamberlain

[Resistance hideout, Aiwei island/Kalani islands]

[Forty five minutes later]

(Joseph's point of view)

Sitting inside his tent two marines stopped outside Joseph's tent to offer him tonight's meal chicken stew.

"Thanks for the food guys." said Joseph as he took the bowl of stew offered to him.

"No problem." responded the two marines.

Joseph sat down on his bed with his stew, thinking over today's events.

"So were going to be marines eh." said the voice

"We still have to complete the evaluation Chamberlain was talking about before." thought Joseph as he started eating his chicken stew.

"Hey at least when we ace this fucking thing we won't have to be a chore boy. We can skip that bullshit." said the voice

"Remember Chamberlain said that he can only grant us a non-commissioned rank and until this ordeal here is over, we won't be doing anything else anytime soon." said Joseph

"Yeah but any rank is better than chore boy." said the voice

"Mmmmmhmmmm." responded Joseph taking a big gulp of stew from the bowl.

"Anyway on to other business. We are dealing with some threatening enemies we haven't even met yet." said the voice

"I know right, it's like somebody wants to get me killed." thought Joseph eating a piece of chicken.

"The islands are being blockaded by Kai's fleet, so that means were stuck here. The threat of Victor or John slaughtering the people is also something we need to be wary of." said the voice

"And don't forget this 'poisoner' Chamberlain was talking about." Joseph thought

"Hmmm, we should focus on helping these people fight John. Like Chamberlain said John's a decent fighter when sober, but he sounds like a guy who enjoy's the bottle as opposed to work." said the voice

"Well that seems to be the idea. We can't directly head to Victor, so we have to weaken his operation first. But starting with John sounds like a recipe for disaster. I don't think Victor will take too kindly to us killing his lieutenant." thought Joseph

"So? Why not go for all of those weapon cashes and other supplies marked on the map that Francis gave us. Chamberlain must have taken a look at them. If we take some initiative here we could steal or destroy them. It will weaken their crew and give a moral boost here. We just need to think rationally and act as accordingly to achieve success." said the voice

"As good of an idea it is, we still aren't marines yet. Tomorrow we'll find out where we stand with the rest of them." thought Joseph finishing his meal.

"Alright well you better get some rest. We'll need to give it your all to show these guys we are not messing around." said the voice

"Yeah better get an early start then." thought Joseph

Setting his bowl down on the ground, Joseph lays in his bed waiting for the new day to dawn over him as his day's as a simple civilian is coming to an end. Ten minutes later Joseph fell asleep. Deciding which side to stand on, will Joseph make it or will he crack from the new enemies faced in front of him?
