A/N: Hi again. As I said before this short story was supposed to be a one-shot but as I start it go longer so I have to split it in two. But by working on the second part it got longer too so it become now a third part story. I know it's not much to interest a lot of people, especially in this fandom, but it was something I wanted to do for a few years back. I just hope that the people that read it like it. Don't be shy and leave any comment at the end even if is good or bad. I know this story is not much, but I still like to read your opinion. Again thank you for reading this story, so let continue.
"Jackson's Halloween Day"
Part-2
Soon the chandelier hits the ground, Andrea screams louder before jumping at Dany's arm, scared. Some of the others looked up to the ceiling while the rest looked at the broken thing on the floor.
"Okay… we need to get out of here… NOW!" yell Samy while running toward the door again and trying to open it. After a few minutes, everything looked at each other as soon as the place went quiet.
Jesse looks at the other, not believing what is happening in this place. "Hey… guys don't get into a panic, there has to be an explanation for all this…" he said trying to calm down the others.
"Yeah… I have one… this place is haunted and we're going to get killed if we don't get out of here…. soon," said Samy while continuing to hit the door with his hand.
"Jesse is right… Maybe there is someone here that is trying to scare us," said Ellie walking toward the center of the lobby where the chandelier fell down.
"Who do you think is doing all this? And how does he close the front door so tight that we can't open it?" said Dany while trying to push Andrea away from him, but can't.
"I don't know anything about all this, but if that door doesn't open, then let's find another one that does… it has to be another way out of here," said Dina walking toward Ellie and stopping behind her. "So… what do you think… Ellie?" asked Dina knowing Ellie is the only one with more experience on the outside.
Ellie continues looking at the broken chandelier, trying to find an explanation or a clue of how it fell. After a few minutes, Ellie looked at Dina and answered. "Well, this thing was old, so maybe it just fell by itself." Ellie turns her head and looks at Dina. "We can try to find another way out, but with that rain and by night it is going to be difficult to walk back to Jackson."
"Well, it will be better than staying here… I can tell you that much," said Samy quickly.
Jesse and the others move to the center of the lobby where Ellie and Dina are. Andrea moves off Dany but stays close to him just in case something happens again. "All the windows down here are sealed with wood… and the front doors don't open, so we have only two options: try to go out from one of the windows of the room on the second floor or find the kitchen or any other place here that can have a back door," he said while looking at the other teens.
"That is a good idea… let's do that…" said Andrea with a scary tone.
"Okay let's try the kitchen first, it can be the only place with a back door in here," said Jesse walking to one of the sides of the lobby.
Andrea moves quickly and grabs his arm. "Don't go that way… the kitchen is not there… believe me," she said knowing what room is that way.
Jesse turns his head and looks at her. "And how do you know that?" he asked.
"Because that is where we found the manager's office… and… and the ghost… that attacked us," said Dany with a trembling voice.
"Yeah… there is something evil here and that is why we need to get out of here fast," added Andrea with a scared tone.
Ellie rolled her eyes, still not believing that there is a ghost in there. "Never mind these two… I will go up and check the rooms for a way out…" she said, turning her head to look at Jesse. "If you found the kitchen, just yell and let me know if you find a back door there," said Ellie while turning around and starting walking toward the stairs.
"I don't think it is a good idea to split up... I am not so sure about the ghost thing, but definitely, something bad is going on here," said Jesse looking at her, but Ellie continued walking without listening to him.
"You found the door… I will make sure that Ellie doesn't get in any trouble…" said Dina while walking after her. "Hey, Ellie… wait for me."
Jesse watches the two girls go up the stairs, then look back at the others. "Okay… let's go and find that kitchen."
Soon Ellie and Dina get to the second floor, both girls start pointing their flashlights at both sides of the corridor. "You still don't believe that this place is haunted… are you?" asked Dina with a worried tone.
"I don't believe in ghosts… but I can't deny that something strange is going on here…" answered Ellie while walking toward the first room on the right corridor.
"Well, I hope that we can get out of here soon… this place is starting to give me the crip," said Dina while following Ellie into the first room. Soon both of them were inside, Ellie walked toward the window and noticed the iron bars on them. "Shit! I don't remember seeing that when we checked the rooms."
"Me either…" said Dina while following Ellie out of the room and entering the next one. But they found the same thing in the other one. "Shit!... this one too?" The two girls go out and go into a few more rooms, but find the same result. "Now what? We can't get out through the front door and nether the windows."
"It has to be away out… is no way that we will be stuck here forever," said Ellie while getting out of the room they just went in. Soon they were back in the corridor. Lighting illuminated the place and shadow figures show again at the end of the corridor, then it disappears.
"Did you see that?" said Dina looking at the dark corridor.
"Yeah… maybe he is the one doing all this… C'mon," said Ellie walking toward the end of the corridor but Dina quickly grabbed her arm.
"Are you crazy? We should not go after him alone… what if there is someone else there? … Let's go down and find the others first." she said with some concern in her voice. But Ellie shook her hand and continued walking on the corridor until she arrived at the last room and stopped in front of the door. "Ellie, I don't think this will be a good idea."
"You're worrying too much, it's going to be fine... besides this room looks different from the others. Maybe we found something here that can help us." Ellie grabs the knob and slowly opens the door and takes a look inside. And she was right, the room was not a guest room, it was like a recreation room for the guests. The room still has some tables with chairs and a few couches and a big tv on the wall. Also some racks with books and things and some desks with computers on them. It also has a few arcade machines on one of the walls.
"Wow… look at this place… I didn't know a resort had things like this…" said Dina while walking behind Ellie and going into the room.
"What surprises me is how this place is so close to Jackson and Tommy didn't send people here to check it out… this place has a lot of good-" Ellie stops when a boy figure appears from nowhere in front of one of the bookstands.
"You… should not be here… if they found you… bad things will happen to you… and your friends," said the ghostly boy.
Dina just stays frozen with fear, but Ellie just looks at the ghostly boy with some curiosity. "Are you really a ghost?" asked Ellie while moving closer to him.
"You… need to go… before they find you…" Ellie tries to touch it, but the boy just disappears in front of her.
After being frozen for a few minutes, Dina moved to the other side of the room. "Okay… what the hell was that?" she said with a concerned voice. "Did you see what he was?… I know you did… so don't tell me that you still don't believe in ghosts?"
Ellie turns around and looks at her. "I still haven't… maybe it was a trick… I saw it a lot in some movies I watched with Joel."
Dina starts walking toward the door with a scarred face. "I don't know about you… but I am not going to stay here to find out if this was a trick or not."
"He wants us to go… but how are we going to do that? All the windows have iron bars and the front door is not open. So how are we supposed to do that?" said Ellie while walking toward her.
"I don't know… but we need to find a way out before this gets worse… maybe Tommy knew this place was haunted and that is why nobody came here to scavenge this place," said Dina while both of them walked out of the room.
"Well, let's hope Jesse and the others find another way out, or we're going to stay here with those ghosts hunting us…" said Ellie while walking beside Dina on the corridor.
Downstairs Jesse and the others found the kitchen, so now all of them were there looking for the back door. After a few minutes, they found the back door but it was sealed tight too.
"Great… Now what?" said Andrea with a disappointing expression. "This door is solidly sealed, so how are we going to get out now?"
"Well, let's hope that Ellie and Dina have better luck and found a way out on the second floor," said Jesse while walking toward the door, but before he got there. Some of the things in the kitchen start to move by themself.
"Fuck!... he found us!" yell Dany while running toward the entrance of the kitchen with Andrea behind him. They were going to get out when a voice could be heard everywhere.
"There is no escape from this place…" said the voice.
"Arggggg!" all of them scream at the same when a ghostly man appears in the middle of the kitchen.
"You're mine… now," said the ghostly figure before lunch himself toward the teens.
"Arggggg!" all of them quickly ran out of the kitchen screaming.
Ellie and Dina hear the scream and start running toward the stairs, but before they get there the ghostly boy appears again in front of them.
"This place… is not what you think… get out… before it is too late…"
Ellie stops and looks at the boy. "What do you mean by that? And who are the ones you speak of?" Ellie asked the boy, but before he said anything more the boy despair again.
"Lest find the others," said Ellie, starting to walk again. "And find out what this place was before and why it did not let us go."
Jesse and the others were running toward the lobby, and soon they got there, they saw Dina and Ellie coming down the stairs.
"Did you find a way out?" asked Jesse as soon Ellie and Dina got down to the lobby.
"No… all the windows in the rooms have iron bars," answer Dina. "What about you? Did you find the kitchen?"
"Yes… but it was a dead-end… somebody sealed the door, so we can't go out that way either." replay Jesse.
"So now what are we going to do? This place is haunted and whoever is here, doesn't want us to leave," said Samy with a trembling voice.
"We're all going to die…" yell Andrea while moving closer to Dany and grabbing his arm. "And… I too young to die,"
"No one is going to die… so stop saying that. We just need to find a way out… or whoever is behind all this," said Ellie while walking closer to the others.
Dina walked beside her and put one hand on her shoulder. "Do you still believe that this is all a trick? After what we saw up there?"
"What did you see up there?" asked Jesse.
Dina turns her head and looks at him. "We saw a ghostly boy… I think he was trying to help us by telling us to get out of here before it was too late… he also said that this place is not what we think it is."
"I don't get it… what he meant by this place is not what we think it is? I thought this was a resort…" said Dany while trying to push Andrea away from him.
"Well… I don't think a resort will have iron bars on all the rooms windows or a recreation area on the second floor," said Ellie.
"So do you think this place was something else?" asked Jesse while looking at her.
"I think this place was something else before it became a resort… and we need to find out what it was if we want to get out of here," said Ellie.
"So what do you think this place was?" asked Jesse.
"I don't know, but I think that something bad will happen here…" answered Ellie.
"Well, Andrea and I found the manager's office and it had a lot of papers and books there. I saw a few pieces of paper that looked like blueprints on the floor… maybe we can find some answers there," said Dany while looking at the others.
"Are you crazy? You want to go back there after what we saw?" said Andrea while moving away from him.
"We're not going alone this time… and if we can find something there to help us to get out of this place, I'm willing to risk it," he said looking at her.
Andrea looks at the other, not knowing what to do, but before she says something, Ellie grabs Dany's arm hard and pulls him away from her. "I don't want to waste more time on this discussion, so just take us there… before I lose my patience and the ghostly people here will be the last of your problems," said Ellie with a firm voice.
Dany looks at her face and swallows a lot of his own silva. One look at Ellie's mad face and she scared him more than the ghosts. "Okay… Okay…" he said while moving his hand up in front of him. "I will take you there… but if those things show up again I will get out of there fast," he turned and looked at Andrea. "Are you coming? We're not going to be alone this time."
Andrea crosses her arm in front of her chest and turns her head to the side. "All of you can go if you want, but I'm not going back there… and neither will you," she said with a firm voice.
"Well, if you want to stay here alone, suit yourself… c'mon is this way," he said while walking toward the side of the lobby where the office is. Jesse and the others start to follow him until Andrea stays behind in the lobby alone. She watches them walk away, but after they disappear on the corner of the corridor, she starts to think about being there alone was a good idea. That thing there scared the hell out of here, but staying in the lobby alone was worse.
"Hey wait for me…" she starts walking toward them, but before she gets far the corridor walls start to move away from her making it longer. "What the hell?" She started running but the corridor just got longer and longer. It was like a big tunnel without an end. "HEY!... GUYS… something is happening here," after a few minutes she hears a loud laugh coming from everywhere, then her head starts to spin and she starts to get dizzy. "Hey, guys…. Don't let me… here alone…" she tried to move again, but when the evil laugh got stronger she turned around and tried to get back to the lobby, but a ghostly man showed up in front of her.
"You're mine now…" the ghost moves fast toward her, but before he gets closer Andrea blackout and fall to the floor.
Dany and the others continue walking without hearing anything about what happened with Andrea. He takes them to the office they found before and stops in front of the door. Then he turns around and looks at the others. "This is the place… but I warn you, thighs go bad in there."
Samy looks at him. "Dude… Did you really leave Andrea back there alone? I thought she was your girlfriend or something," He said as soon as he didn't see her coming behind them.
"It was her choice man… besides she is not really my girlfriend… she just likes to pretend that she is," said Dany quickly.
Ellie rolled her eyes. "Can you stop talking about stupid things like that? If she wanted to stay it was her problem, so let us concentrate on finding a way out of here..." Ellie pushes Dany away from the door and grabs the knob of the door.
"Are you really going inside? What if that thing is in there?" said Dany looking at her.
"There is no monster here… so stop whining… and get moving," said Ellie while opening the door and taking a look inside. "See! There is nothing here… now let's start looking for a clue about this place and those plans you saw," said Ellie while walking inside. The rest of the teens follow her into the room with some precaution and start to look around too.
Dany was the last one to enter the room, but he stayed close to the entrance just in case the ghost showed up again. The image of the scary ghostly man they saw before is still fresh in his mind. Ellie and Dina walk toward the desk and start looking at the papers there. But Jesse starts to look around the office pointing his flashlight to the things there and illuminating the room.
"Where did you see the blueprint?" he asked while turning his head and looking at Dany.
"I think… on the floor… close to the book rack." Jesse turned around and pointed his flashlight toward the book rack then to the floor in front of it. He saw a few papers there but not big enough to be the kind of blueprints Dany mentioned before.
Jesse walks toward them but finds out that they were just old newspapers. He bent down and picked them up. These are not blueprints… they are just old newspapers…" he started to check them until he found something interesting. "Wait… there is some news about this place on the front page of one of them," he said while illuminating the paper with his flashlight.
Dina and Ellie put some of the paper they found on the desk down and look toward him. "What did it say?" asked Ellie quickly.
Jesse starts to read it to himself first and after a few minutes, he looks at them. "It said that there was a fire in this place a few years before the pandemic started. After that, the owner had to close the place and remodel a year later to become the resort that we see now."
"But it said what it was before?" asked Dina now.
"No, the newspaper with the news is incomplete… it is missing a few pages," answered Jesse.
"That is not very helpful…" says Samy with a disappointed tone.
"There is nothing on the desk either… just notebooks and papers with names and places… nothing that can help us to find out what this place was before." Said Ellie while Dina managed to open one of the drawers and take another notebook from there.
She opened it and started to check it out. "Hey I think I found something… in here," she said while reading something in the notebook. This looks like the owner's work notes about the remodeling of the building." Dina starts to pass the pages looking for a clue or any information about the place. After a few minutes, she stopped in the middle of the book pages. "Shit!... I think I know what this place was…"
At that moment a cold wing enters the room and Dany quickly moves back with his eyes wide open. "Did you feel that?"
"Feel what?" asked Jesse while looking at him.
"The cold wing… I feel it before that thing shows up… Is him… is back…" soon after he said that the book rack starts to shake by himself and some books start to fly toward the teens. "He is back… I'm outta here…" said Dany, moved backward and got out of the room fast, and ran toward the lobby.
"Wait for me…" said Samy while running out of the room too and going after him.
As more things start to fly out toward the rest of the teens, they decide that it was time to get out of the room too. "Grab the notebook and let's get out of here." Said Jesse while running toward the door. Before he got there the room started trembling like someone big was shaking the entire place. As soon Dina grabs the book, Ellie grabs her arm and pulls her with her.
"C'mon… we need to get out of here," Said Ellie running toward the door, but before they get there, the desk starts to move toward them fast. Ellie turns around and sees it, so she pushes Dina to the side and takes the hit.
"Ellie!" yells Dina as soon she sees Ellie get hit by the desk. After Ellie falls to the floor, Dina goes quickly to her and tries to help her up. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah… I think so…" said Ellie while touching her head. Her back hurt too, but feel that nothing was broken.
"You can't escape from me…" said the voice in the room, before more books started flaying their way.
"Let's get out of here… now," said Jesse running through the room entrance. Dina helps Ellie up and runs after him. Soon they were out of the room, the door closed violently and an evil laugh could be heard from inside.
"Are you still... unbelieving... in ghosts?" asked Dina while trying to calm down her heart.
"I don't know about you two, but let's find a way out of here before that thing kills us," Said Jesse, before the whole place starts trembling and things start to move by themself.
"Fuck this!… let's find the others and get out of this fucking place…" Dina grabs Ellie's arm and pulls her with her. Jesse follows them and runs toward the lobby. Soon they get there, they saw Dany and Samy trying to open the front door again.
"What are you two doing? You already tried that and it didn't work… remember?" Jesse starts but stops when he doesn't see Andrea anywhere. "Hey!... Where is Andrea?"
The two boys turn around and look at him. "We don't know… she wasn't here when we came," answered Dany quickly.
"I think… the ghost has her…or kill her," added Samy with a trembling voice. "And the same is going to happen to us... if we don't get out of here…"
Dany looks at him with a mad face. "You don't know that… so don't say it," said Dany while trying to think that Andrea is okay.
"She is not dead you dumbass… she is probably hiding somewhere…" says Dina to calm them down.
"NO!... she is dead and where next…" said Samy in a panicked way. Then he turned around and started to hit the door again. "Open the fucking door and let us out!" he yells while desperately continuing to hit the door.
Ellie looks at Dina and the notebook in her hands. "Dina… you said that you found out what this place was before it became a resort… So what was it?" asked Ellie.
"It was-" she started, but got interrupted by things moving in the lobby. "I think we need to find a safer place… first."
"The recreation room... where we saw the boy… I think we will be safe there," said Ellie quickly.
Dina looked at her with a surprised expression. "You want to go back there?"
" I know that that was a little scary, but maybe the boy knows what happened here and we can ask him if he knows how to get out of here."
"You want to talk to a ghost?" said Dany while moving closer to the door. At that moment the building started to tremble again.
"Do you want to stay here?" she said before turning around and running toward the stairs.
"What about Andrea? We need to find her…" said Dany while looking at her.
"He is right… we need to find her, before-" Jesse starts to speak, but stops when the ghostly man apparition shows himself on the other side of the lobby.
"There is no escape from this place… so stop trying…" said the ghost while looking at them.
"Arrrggg…" Dany and Samy scream before running toward the stairs.
"Okay… is time to go… we will look for Andrea later…" said Jesse while grabbing Dina's arm and running toward the stairs. They climb the stairs as fast as they can, but the building starts to tremble again. The ghostly man looks at them before disappearing from the lobby. Soon they arrive on the second floor, Ellie tells them to follow her. All run behind her until they arrive at the recreation room. Ellie opened the door and all started to go in, soon they were inside the room Ellie closed the door and looked at them.
"Now what?" asked Dany.
Samy moves closer to Dany before speaking. "Do you really think that a closed-door can stop a ghost?" said Samy with a scared voice.
"Let's hope that the boy comes here first before that thing," said Dina whale looking at the two frightened boys. After a few minutes, the place stopped trembling and things looked normal again.
Ellie takes a deep breath and looks back at Dina. "Okay… You said that you know what this place was… so are you going to tell us or not?" asked Ellieimpatient.
In another part of the resort, Andra opens her eyes slowly and tries to get into a sitting position. She puts her hand on top of her head that still hurts. After a few minutes, Andrea gets into a sitting position and starts to look around. "Where the hell am I?" The place was a little dark, but it has a lantern in one of the corners that gives some illumination to the place. While she looked at the room, Andrea noticed that she was sitting on a mattress that was on the floor.
Andrea looked around trying to remember how she got there in the first place. She also saw a lot of garbage around. Andrea tries to get up but has to stop when she feels a lot of pain coming from her leg. "Shit… that hurts like hell."
"You should not try to walk… I think that your leg is broken… or something," said someone with a young voice. The person was hiding in the dark corner of the small room that Andrea was in.
Andrea looked at the shown corner and screamed when she saw a shadow figure there. "Ahhhhh!... don't kill me… please… I will do whatever you want… just don't hurt me," she started to say, then lay back on the mattress and buried her face on it.
"I am not… going to hurt you… I'm not one of them," said the voice with a gentle voice.
Andrea waits for the ghost to kill her, but after a few minutes, nothing happens. Adrea raises her head and slowly looks at the corner of the room again. "What do you mean… that you're not one of them? Are you a ghost… or not."
After a few minutes, the figure starts to move slowly from the shadow and looks at her. "No... I'm not a ghost… but they're evil spirits here… and they like to hurt people," Andrea sat back up as soon she saw that the shadow figure was a young boy. He was no older than 15 and his clothes were all dirty and wrecked in a few places. The boy was thin too like he hadn't eaten well in days or maybe longer.
"Are you sure… that you're not a ghost? Because two of the others said that they saw a ghostly boy on the second floor…" she said while looking at him with curious eyes.
"Really!... Did they see Charlie?" asked the boy while moving closer.
"Charlie?" asked Andrea.
"Yes… he was my little brother… he was 8 when those things took him and-" he stopped and lowered his head. Andrea can see that talking about his brother hurt him.
"Your younger brother? How old are you? And what are you doing here?" She started with the question but stopped when she saw his sad expression. "Sorry… I don't want to sound so bitched… but I wanted to know what is going on here…speaking about that, where I'm?"
"Don't worry… it's just… I haven't seen him in a long time. "Not after they took him." He raised his head and looked at her. "I'm 14 and my name is Mark… what is yours?"
"Andrea…" she answered him after a few minutes. "So you're telling me that your little brother is a ghost and that evil spirits are inside this place? What happened here?"
The boy moves closer to her and offers a jar with pills. "Here, this will help you with the pain… I'm sorry I could not do a better job with your leg, but it's the best I could do." he moved aside after Andrea took the jar from his hand.
"Thank you for helping me… I thought that… that ghostly thing was going to kill me…" Andrea looks at the jar uncertain to take the pill. The boy seems like a good person, but she is not really sure about his intention, so she put the jar on the side of the mattress as soon as the boy turns around and starts walking around the room like he was looking for something. "So… how do you and your brother end up here?" she started asking again. "And what is that thing that attacks us?"
The boy turned his head and looked at her. "I think they are the original owners of this place… I am not sure, but I think they do bad things to people that we've stayed in this place before. I found some notes and papers about where this place was before and I think these people died during the pandemic and their evil spirit hunted this place waiting for more victims to kill."
"And how did you discover all that? How long have you been here?" Andrea continues, trying to get more information from the boy.
"I don't really remember… but maybe a year I think."
"A year?" she said with a surprised tone.
"Yeah… My brother and I found this place after our parents were killed by the infected. At first, it looks like a good place to stay, but after a few weeks we start to hear things and hear voices inside the walls or in the rooms."
"And after all that, you didn't try to get out of here?" she asked curiously.
"We tried after we saw the first ghostly evil man… but the place got sealed and they didn't let us out. We hid for a while and tried to find a way to get out of here, but they didn't let us. Then one day we found the basement of this place and tried to get out that way, but they found us there and attacked us… I managed to escape… after they take my little brother. I tried to help him, but I couldn't and after that, I never saw him again." he said with tears in his eyes.
"I'm so sorry for you brother… lost," she said with a sincere tone.
The boy looked at the floor. "Yeah… I know they kill him, but what I don't know is why they don't kill me too or let me escape this place after that. It's like they want me to be trapped here forever and torture me…" he looked at Andrea with a sad face. "And now they have you and you friend trapper here too… and they're not going to stop until they kill you all."
"Kill us!..." she said quickly. "We need to warn the others and try to get out of here… I don't want to die…"
"We can try to talk to you friends, but there is not a way out of place. Soon they let people inside, they sealed this place so nobody could escape… believe me I have been trying for a long time."
"Well, I am not going to stay here and let those things kill me. My friends are strong and they will fight them until they find a way out…" Andrea tries to get up again, but her ankle hurts, so she stays sitting on the mattress.
The boy looked at her with some concern. "You can't walk with that hurting leg… I will go out and find your friend and bring them here… this is the only place they can't enter."
Andrea looks around and doesn't see much in there to stop the evil ghosts from getting in. "Why… Why can't they enter here?" she asked.
"I am not sure… but it is the only place here where they can't get in… that is why I have survived this place all this time." he moved to a small table where he had some cans of food. "Are you hungry? I still have some food left. You can eat some while I go out and find you a friend."
"Thank you… but after all this, I lost my appetite…" She said while moving forward and started to examine her leg. Her foot hurts and her ankle looks swollen, but the boy did a good job of bandaging it. After a few minutes, she looked at the boy and saw that he was getting ready to leave. "How do you save me from the ghost? And how did you bring me here? I know I lost my consciousness when that thing attacked me… but I do not remember anything else," she asked while looking at him.
"Oh… yeah," he said while moving to his side and grabbing something for the table. "I use this to scare them... is some kind of ultraviolet lamp that I found in one of the storage rooms."
"A lamp? And how, can scare a ghost?"
"I'm not sure, but they don't like the sunlight and this imitates that I guess. They never show during the day and try to stay away from the windows and the lobby during that time. I think they go to the basement during the day and go out when the night comes."
"Oh… I see." Andrea moves on the mattress to a better position. "Why didn't you escape during the day? The door opened when we arrived."
"I think that I was sleeping when you arrived… and when I found that new people were inside here it was too late to warn you. And when the night comes they go out of the basement and start hunting you, I just… hide and wait…"
"What do you mean by new people? Has someone else come here before us?" she asked again with some curiosity.
"Well, a few men came here a few months ago… They have guns and a bad attitude… But soon they got in this place got sealed out as always. I show myself to them after they try to get out of this place and try to warn them about the evil ghosts on this place, but they just laugh and try to hurt me. I managed to escape from them and when the night came the evil ghosts started to attack them and in the end, they killed each other with their own guns."
"Really?"
"Yeah… they thought they could kill a ghost by shooting at them… but they ended up shooting at one another. After they kill each other, the ghosts just take their bodies to the basement and I never see them again."
"Why the basement… What do you think is there?"
"I don't know but there is where they take the bodies… and hide during the day," the boy answered her.
"Oh, really… but you said before that you and your brother go there, so you must see something down there… right?" The girl looked at him waiting for his answer.
The boy stood up and grabbed a few things from the table and the lamp. "It's getting late… so it is better if I go now and find your friend before the evil ghosts attack them again." he started walking toward the end wall of the room where a metal door was.
Andrea is finding his story hard to believe, so she is not sure if he is telling her the truth or hiding her something. He looked like an honest kid, but she thought that he was hiding something or not telling the entire truth. "You didn't answer my question…" she said with a firm voice.
The boy turned around and looked at her. "I told you all I know… but if you want to help your friend, I need to go now."
Andrea starts to get up from the mattress again. "Well, I am not going to stay here alone… so if you really want to help my friends... I will go with you."
The boy walks toward her and tries to get her to sit back down. "You can't come with me like this… if the evil ghosts attack us you will be able to run with that leg and they will get you."
"But you have that lamp… so you can use it to scare them away… right?" she said after standing up and supporting herself on the wall close to the mattress.
The boy rolled his eyes. "You don't understand… they will-" he started, but got interrupted by Andrea.
"Kill me!... Like they did to the others? Like they kill you brother?" she said while starting moving toward him. "Look, I think you're a good kid, but I get the feeling that you're hiding something from me, so why don't you tell me what it is?" she asked with a firm voice.
In another part of the resort, the others were inside the recreation room trying to think what to do next and waiting for Dina to answer Ellie's question.
"So… are you going to tell us what this place was? Or do we need to guess?" asked Ellie, a little impatient.
"Well, this book said that this place was-" she started, but was interrupted again when she saw some of the tables there moving by themself. "Shit!... no this again…"
All the teens move away from the tables as they start to move violently. "I thought you said this room was a safe place…" Samy said with a scary tone.
"I never said that… I just said that-"
BAN… BAN… BAN
They were moving toward the door but stopped as soon as they hear someone or something hitting it hard and tried to break it. Then they hear a louder voice coming from the other side. "I know you're in there… I already told you all that there is no escape from this place and now we're going to enjoy torturing your soul for eternity." Said the voice before starting to hit the door harder.
"ARRRRGGGGHHHH!…" all of them scream when the door split into millions of pieces and three ghostly men enter the room.
To be continued...
