When the first one was born, Kakashi didn't see any problem. In fact, itgave him more reason to tease his students. About their son, and all the responsibility, and how they were on their way to reviving a clan…
He ducked just in time not to get hit by a handful of shuriken.
When the second one was born, he grinned and teased them again, over his Icha Icha Paradise. He carefully hid the book from the first child, even if he was one year old.
They grew, the two boys did. The first one was a happy child, the second a little quieter and much like a dark figure of the past, but Kakashi knew that they would only need to watch him carefully. Sakura gave both her children much love, even as her belly swelled with the third child. Sasuke played a good husband, and a surprisingly competent father.
Kakashi was fond of the little Uchiha brats his students were spouting out, so nothing bothered him too much until a few years later.
He had popped by for a visit, mostly to annoy them but then was invited to stay for breakfast.
All right, he thought. They're in a good mood. He vaguely wondered why.
And then he put his book down, and received a shock. The youngest, a girl with a striking resemblance to Sakura, was smiling at him.
She couldn't have been more than three or four, but he could already see the tangibility of her smile.
She looks like—
He stood up, muttered he remembered something, and went on his way.
He ended up at the monument.
Not funny, he told the heavens. Not funny at all.
First Sakura, and now her daughter. Hopefully Kakashi wouldn't be alive if that daughter had a daughter, because he was beginning to think that every female in that blasted family smiled like Rin.
