Serendipity

The aura was not pleasant. Dark, distressed. The corpse lay amongst the trees, shrouded in the shadows of the leaves. Discontent, and completely ignored, a life has left the earth.

---

He walked aimlessly. All around was white. To the left, to the right. In front of him, in back of him. Even above and below him. He had made his way through many labyrinths, but never anything as this. There was no sense of direction whatsoever. But he trudged on, the words "Why?" lingering in his mind.

Flash!

He was in a forest. Three boys, older, stood in front of him.

"You're not a real Kokiri, ya don't even have your own fairy, Mr. No-fairy!"

He protested, but was overpowered by the rest of the boys. "No-fairy, no-fairy," they chanted, until he ran away into the sanctuary of his home, crying himself to sleep.

Flash!

He was again in the forest, but at a later time. This time he was faced with seemingly an army of children.

"Murderer!" they said, unified, with a haunted look in their eyes. He ran.

Flash!

He was older now. A princess was before him. Great happiness swelled in his heart, until a great crystal materialized and whisked her away! Menacing laughter filled the sky. Filled with anger he cursed.

Flash!

He was dead tired and beaten, but content. On top of a shimmering lak he sat with a companion. The sun began to set, setting the world on fire. And during the eternal moment… a splash. He was alone again.

Flash!

He was racing as fast as he could. He made it across the field. He made it to the forest. No time to slow down! Darting between moblins, quick and stealthily as possible…

He finally made it, and took a moment to catch his breath.

Hope lit his heart. Though his friend was in danger, he hoped that she would be there.

He looked up. Emptiness.

Flash!

He was in front of a young deity, wrought with anticipation. Despite the tree's jovial manner, he was slightly fearful.

The deity told the story of the man's origins. He learned he was not a Kokiri. He learned that his mother left him here to protect him, before passing away.

In the midst of shock, he was left with an empty longing…

Flash!

It was back to white. The man's head swam, dizzy from the information. He blinked, and rested.

A moment later, a figure walked towards him slowly. She wore a plain and simple dress. Her hair, in braids, was wrapped around her head. Though he had never seen her face before, her face was familiar.

Her gray eyes gazed at the man. His blue eyes gazed at the woman. There were tears. There was laughter. They collapsed into a tight embrace.

---

A single beam of light shone upon the corpse, no longer shrouded in shadow. A young girl comes by its side. All is well

Hello my fellow readers! Don't you find it ironic that the fic I started just last night is the first to get posted despite the huge backlog of incomplete fics in my documents?

Thanks for reading! Constructive crit is greatly appreciated, please review!

3.23.06: fixed it up a bit... like the repeating first paragraph, and gave some more clues to the woman at the end. Everything else is still the same.
