Written for Thailand's Father's day (December 5th). It's the birthday of the late King Rama 9th (Bhumibol Adulyadej) Due to the current political issues in Thailand I'd like to clarify this isn't meant to offend anyone, I'm just writing some fluff for myself to enjoy, or maybe for some people to learn a little bit more about Thailand's Father's day :D
"Hey Thai! What's up?" Malaysia greets excitedly once he finds one of his fellow ASEAN members sitting on a bench in a secluded part of a park with his pet. "Hello to you too Toto!"
"Hello there Malaysia, nice to see you." Thailand says, holding the little elephant who waves its trunk as if to say 'hello' "Not much today, I had the day off. How about you?"
"Day.. off?" The shorter man blinks for a couple seconds, trying to use his already exhausted brain to get an answer, which finally comes "It's Father's day isn't it? That's why you're wearing yellow!"
"Hm yes, I prefer my white uniform but yellow's customary for today."
"Well that's nice! Singa refused to call me 'abang' again.." Malaysia huffs as he sits down, sulking for a couple seconds before returning to his usual self. "Can I hold Toto?"
"Oh? Sure, here you go," Thailand nods, carefully placing Toto on the other nation's lap. The little elephant doesn't seem to enjoy it very much however, and throws a small tantrum before being returned to its owner.
"Well.. I guess Toto doesn't like me.." Malaysia sulks once again, scaring the other with his depressing aura for a couple seconds which disappears as quickly as it came.
"Ana, don't worry. It's not like he doesn't like you specifically, he just seems to be a little grumpy today for some reason- maybe I've annoyed him too much by being home."
"So.. how was your father's day?" Malaysia asks, happy to find someone to talk to.
"Not too bad, just stayed at home and played with Toto," He replies, holding up a slightly annoyed Toto to add to his point of his presence at home during the day not being completely welcome "Do you want to get some ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง (Khao Neow Ma-muang) with me?"
"Uh.. what?"
"Mango sticky-rice ana~" Thailand laughs a little, standing up and pulling Malaysia behind him to get the sweet treat together, a less than pleased Toto on his shoulder wondering if he should've just stayed at home.
