PAW Patrol (TAF: The Anthro Files)
Moto Pups!
Revenge of the Ruff-Ruff Pack

Chapter 1

"Ruff-Ruff Pack! Ruff-Ruff Pack!" chanted the infamous trio of Hubcap, Dwayne, and Gasket as they rode around the desert. The difference was they weren't their regular dog selves, because, just like the PAW Patrol and their primary rival (Wild Cat), they could transform between regular dogs and anthro dogs, animals that stood on two legs like humans and had hands for paws instead of front feet. Still, what hadn't changed was their desires to get into "wheel trouble," and take no responsibility for it. Even though Mayor Goodway placed a lifetime ban on them from ever entering Adventure Bay, they still popped up to cause trouble once in a while. (Adventure Bay didn't have a prison system, though; its people instead opted to add so many hours of community service in order to make the punishment fit the crime. This is why it wasn't until the PAW Patrol's major visit to Adventure City that Mayor Humdinger was finally imprisoned, alongside his kittens, and it was a life sentence.)

What also hadn't changed was Hubcap's hypocrisy. If an idea worked according to plan, he took credit for it. If not, he blamed it on Dwayne and Gasket. He also didn't weigh the risks before doing something rash, and he wasn't willing to listen to the PAW Patrol or Wild Cat, even if they ultimately did save his life. This happened more than once. But were the Ruff-Ruff Pack grateful for it? No. They weren't. They just kept on terrorizing.

"What made you think you could really get them to change their ways for good by being in that gang?" Captain Turbot had asked Mayor Goodway. "That trio of troublemakers does nothing but terrorize and traumatize us in the process."

"I have to admit, it wasn't my best idea," Goodway replied, "but I felt it was my duty as mayor to do something about it. Apparently, I didn't want to just call the PAW Patrol and tell them the Ruff-Ruff Pack was back."

"BA-BUCK, BA-GERK!" Chickaletta clucked.

"I got them to be good, but it was only for one day."

"Well, it's better than nothing, isn't it?" Francois commented. "But I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them."

"You're probably right, but I did put a lifetime ban on those pups."

"That doesn't mean that they're going to obey you. They're bikers; biker gangs typically cause trouble. Well, except if they come from Mars." (Although the Biker Mice from Mars had never visited Adventure Bay, the town was aware of who they were and what they did to protect Earth from threats such as the Plutarkians and Catatonians.)

"That's true."

Over at the Lookout, Ryder and the pups were playing catch with a frisbee. Skye naturally did backflips and other stunts when it was her turn, whereas Marshall had a tendency to miss the frisbee, or crash if he did catch it, or both. Wild Cat, being his regular cat self, also had a go at it. "I guess this is another one of those pup things cats don't do normally, just like that fetch game," he said, "but, since we're playing the game, here goes nothing!"

"AH-CHOO!" Chase sneezed as Wild Cat ran past him. "Excuse me. There goes my allergy."

"Oh, sorry," said Wild Cat as he caught the frisbee and brought it back to Ryder. "I forgot you were allergic to cats."

"That's okay," Chase replied. "I just wish I had told you about it earlier. It shouldn't separate us; you and I will always be pals. AH-CHOO!"

"Maybe you should sit this round out."

"I think so."

"It's Rocky's turn anyway," Ryder put in as threw the frisbee, and Rocky ran to go get it. Then the 10-year-old began to pet Chase on the head, leading the police pup to feel better about it. "But I am glad I found you, Chase; you're such a good pup. The PAW Patrol wouldn't be the PAW Patrol without you, just as it wouldn't be the PAW Patrol without Marshall." (Once Marshall ran away because he thought nobody wanted him around, only to have Rubble dispell the myth by confirming it was just the latest episode of "Apollo the Super-Pup" that was making them laugh and say, "That pup can't do anything right!")

The next day, as Francois predicted, the Ruff-Ruff Pack was back to cause more trouble, but they didn't just jump into it immediately like they usually did. Instead, they just drove laps around Adventure Bay. Also, because he was an anthro pup, Hubcap was now driving his own motorcycle instead of riding in the sidecar of Dwayne's bike. Gasket, however, decided she was going to take charge of this one, because she was the first to do a wheelie.

"Not fair!" Hubcap snorted. "Have you forgotten? I'm the leader of this pack!"

"Yeah? Well, none of your stupid schemes ever work!" Gasket shot back. "I'm in charge now, and I'm not stopping!"

"Get back here! You don't outrank me!"

"Says you!"

"After her, Dwayne!"

"Uh, okay, Hubcap!" Dwayne replied. "Maybe we'll see that cute chicken again!"

Of all people it could have been, it was Alex Porter who first noticed the pack was back. "Whoa; look at those cool bikes, Grandpa!" he said. "Awesome!"

"Not awesome, Alex," Mr. Porter replied. "Those are troublemakers, remember? That's the Ruff-Ruff Pack!"

"The Ruff-Ruff Pack?"

"I guess you've never heard of them, have you?"

"Not really, Grandpa."

"I'll explain later. Right now, I'm calling the PAW Patrol. Have you seen my phone?"

"I have it right here, Grandpa. I was playing 'Corn Nibblet Crush' a few minutes ago."

"Oh, right. I like the song from that game, actually." Porter took his phone, exited out of the game, and dialed up Ryder's number.

At the Lookout, Ryder threw the frisbee to Marshall so he could try again, and then his pup-pad began to ring. "Hello, Mr. Porter," he greeted. "Is everything okay?"

"I'm afraid not, Ryder," Porter replied. "It looks like the pups are back in town! Those Ruff-Ruff pups, I mean!" Since the phones used video chat instead of just traditional audio, Ryder could see the biker pups driving by in the background, and thus, heard Hubcap yelling, "Get out of my way, Gasket! I'm in charge!"

"Watch my smoke!" Gasket replied as she began to speed up.

"I think they're just having a race or something right now," Porter continued, "but who knows what is going to happen next? You know what these pups have a tendency to do, right?"

"Yes, I do," said Ryder, "but there's no need to worry. No bikers are too rough; no pup is too small!"

"Thanks a lot, Ryder. You'll be doing all of us a real good turn." The link broke off, and Ryder slid out the pup mechanism after changing the logo to the Moto Pups logo before he pressed the button to activate all the pup-tags. Then he made the announcement: "PAW Patrol, to the Moto HQ!"

"Ryder needs us!" everybody exclaimed in unison before running to the Moto HQ. Along the way, Marshall was still chasing the frisbee, and while he actually managed to catch it on this occasion, he still tripped and rolled like a bowling ball into all the pups (and Wild Cat). Given the way everybody flipped over, the Dalmatian then noticed the frisbee perfectly spinning on his tail.

"Point for the PAW Patrol!" he said, as if the pups were playing ultimate (or ulimate frisbee), and everybody laughed as the elevator rose to the top. Along the way, the pups changed into their motorcycle gear, and because the green light was flashing, it signaled them to become their anthro forms, which they did. Soon, everybody stood in a line at the top of the building opposite Ryder and the screen.

"PAW Patrol ready for action, Ryder, sir!" Chase announced. "Moto style! And as anthros!"

"Check it out, dude!" Zuma smiled.

"Claw-some!" Wild Cat echoed.

"Go us!" Rubble cheered.

"Yay!" Skye cheered as she did a backflip.

"Thanks, pups!" Ryder began as he set the screen in motion. "The Ruff-Ruff Pack is back, and at the moment, they're just racing around, but I am worried about what ideas they might get, so it is up to us to chase them away, since Mayor Goodway did issue a lifetime ban on them. They're also anthro from what I could see."

"I forgot they were able to go anthro as well," Rocky commented.

"They got affected by that second meteor just as you all did," Ryder put in. "That's how they can go anthro. I noticed it when Mr. Porter called me for help, and so that was the reason I decided this was an anthro mission. For this mission, I'll deputize...Chase!" He slid the icons on his pup-pad until each correct icon appeared, and then he pressed it. The matching icons popped up on the screen. "I'll need you to stay on the trail of the Ruff-Ruff Pack so that the rest of us know where they're going. Do whatever you can to stop them from causing any more problems."

"Moto Chase is on the Ruff-Ruff Pack's case!" Chase announced.

"Wild Cat, I need you to use your bike and gear in the even the Ruff-Ruff Pack decides to do something dangerous. Knowing them, I'm anticipating it."

"This cat's ready for a wild ride!" Wild Cat replied, striking a pose.

"Skye, I'll also need you and your moto plane to keep an eye on them as well."

"This moto pup's going to ride and fly!" Skye smiled, doing a backflip.

"As for the rest of you pups, I don't know if I'll need you or not, but I'd still like you to come along. This way, you can practice riding your bikes as anthro pups."

"As those awesome mice dudes from Mars would say..." Zuma began, and the whole PAW Patrol finished the sentence. "It's time to ROCK...and RIDE!" Skye did another backflip on the word "ride."

"All right! PAW Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder called as he set the elevator in motion, and the pups joined him. The elevator took them down to where their motorcycles, and each member, beginning with Chase and ending with Wild Cat (not counting Ryder), took their cycle and rode it up to the top of the exit ramp. Each one rode down the ramp to the jump, and as they did their signature moves in mid-air, pyrotechnics went off. Wild Cat's move was the most daring of stunts, naturally.

When Ryder hit the jump, the pyrotechnics did not go off, but he still did a typical motorcycle stunt. Each one then landed on the ground on the other side, except for Skye, who was flying. Off they went to save the day, and any civilians who happened to watch them pass by gave them a big cheer.

Just what was the Ruff-Ruff pack planning, however? Was it going to bring more problems to Adventure Bay? Was Mayor Goodway actually going to propose Adventure Bay have its own prison complex just to keep these lawbreakers in check? And what time was Chickaletta eating breakfast tomorrow morning?
