Chapter 2
Although the pups and Wild Cat were anthro instead of regular, their bikes had the same functions they previously had, but with upgrades to account for their anthro forms. Chase's bike in particular, though, was a lot faster than it used to be, so it was driving Gasket bonkers when she found she couldn't lose him. "Drat!" she sneered. "I can't shake him! It's time for a 'wheely' slick move!" She begin pulling a wheelie and then spun around in circles, making it dusty, and making it hard for the police dog to see what he was doing. Then she jumped herself over him and took off in the opposite direction.
"Oh!" he exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Skye kept her eyes on Hubcap and Dwayne, and her new helmet came with an updated version of the goggle vision she usually used with just her air rescue helmet. "Got a visual on Hubcap, Ryder," she reported. "And it's bad news! He's headed for City Hall! I don't know how he's going to trash it, but that's what it looks like!"
"Marshall! Chase! Head over to Town Hall!" Ryder called.
"On it!" the two pups replied in unison as they rode over to City Hall. "We're motoring our way to this moto-style ruff-ruff rescue!" Marshall added.
Hubcap, meanwhile, made it on to the lawn at City Hall and began trashing it, even going as far as to knock over the chicken statue. Mayor Goodway, however, was too scared to come outside, instead assuming that her purse chicken was just as terrified, when the truth was that Chickaletta just wanted some corn to eat. Chickaletta, however, didn't cluck out loud so that she wouldn't give the Ruff-Ruff Pack any ideas. Yet her owner was upset at everything.
"Oh, what a disaster!" she wept. "My beautiful Chickaletta statue is busted!" She then took a peek outside. "Oh, big disaster!" she cried. "There go my tulips! Again!"
"Everybody! Get away from Town Hall!" Marshall called as the civilians who happened to be close by ran for their lives. Chase summoned his megaphone and began to shout out to the Ruff-Ruff Pack. "That's far enough! Your time in this town is up!"
"Says you!" Hubcap snorted. "Adventure Bay belongs to the Ruff-Ruff Pack now! Do you hear me?"
"Ruff-Ruff Pack! Ruff-Ruff Pack!" the trio began to chant.
"This is not your town, and the mayor's orders are that you are never to enter this town again!" Chase replied.
"No crazy psychopath who worships a chicken is going to tell us what to do!" Gasket shot back.
"Whoa; that was harsh, dude!" Zuma commented.
Inside, Mayor Goodway wept at the comment. Nobody had the guts to call her a psychopath until now, and contrary to popular belief, she did not worship her purse chicken like a god. She built the statue because she considered Chickaletta to be the city's deputy mayor. Chickaletta let out a cluck on this occasion, and Mayor Goodway mistakenly thought she was just as upset. Then again, she might have actually been correct about this one. Chickaletta, most of the time, ignored everything that was going on around her, even if the special occasion was all about her.
Outside, Marshall tried using his water cannon to slow the bikers down, but the only one he managed to slow down was Dwayne, since Hubcap was driving his own motorcycle this time. "Uh, sorry," he said, "but I've already had my bath today." (Marshall was aiming at the bike, but hit Dwayne instead.)
"Do you know what was great about that?" Rocky asked Ryder.
"What, Rocky?"
"It wasn't me!" The other pups chuckled for a bit.
Although the Ladybird wasn't present, Tuck and Ella just happened to be on the scene, since their special car Ryder built could split into two motorcycles. "Oh, hi, Tuck. Hi, Ella. I wasn't expecting to see you," Ryder exclaimed when he noticed the twins.
"We weren't sure what the ruckus was," Tuck replied. "But it's not the Ladybird."
"No. This is the Ruff-Ruff Pack. They're a biker gang that likes to cause trouble and trash things, and then they don't take any responsibility for it." Ryder then gave a brief explanation of the gang's previous misdeeds, and how they backfired spectacularly.
"Any way we can help?" Ella asked.
"That I'm not sure about yet," Ryder replied, "but I'll let you know if there is a way. Either way, you'd better get out of the way, because here they come!"
"Yikes!" Tuck and Ella got out of the way just in time as Gasket came in for the kill, trying to wreck Ryder's ATV.
"Will you knock it off?!" the 10-year-old boy exclaimed in disgust. "That's my ATV! And there's no reason for you to even be in this town!"
"There's no reason for you to have formed that pesky PAW Patrol either!" Gasket snapped back. "You're not even old enough to drive! Or are you?"
"Whoa; that's even harsher!" Rubble winced. "They're not afraid to insult us, are they?"
"There's a reason you should think before you speak," Tuck put in. "That was hurtful to my sister and me, too."
"Ruff! Harness!" Skye barked when she noticed one civilian unable to get out of the way of Hubcap's insanely reckless driving. The harness reached down to the civilian, who quickly attached it to himself, and soon the pilot pup managed to get him airborne. "Where do I take him to, Ryder? I don't see anywhere that's a safe spot around here."
"Fly him to the Lookout," Ryder called. "I know it's not open to the public normally, but it's the best place I know for right now."
"Copy that, Ryder!" Skye called back as she flew the man to the Lookout. Having witnessed this, however, it gave Hubcap the idea that it was time to trash the PAW Patrol's main HQ, although he also wanted to trash the Moto HQ.
Dwayne, on the other hand, was too wet to continue. "No, leave me out of this, Hubcap," he protested when his boss tried to get him to drive towards the Lookout. "I'm a bit soaked right now."
"Fine! Who needs you, you chicken?" Hubcap snorted as he drove towards the Lookout, not minding any traffic trying to drive out of the way.
"Ryder, Chase, the pack is heading for the Lookout!" Skye reported.
"Not to mention the fact the ruffians just ran a red light," Captain Turbot added, having witnessed the scene himself. "I think you'd better send for some backup, Ryder."
"Good idea," Ryder replied as he took out his pup-pad. "Hey, Wild Cat! This is going to call for one of your amazing stunts! We can't let the Ruff-Ruff Pack do anything to our Lookout!"
"Time to get wild!" Wild Cat cheered, activating his super speed boosters before racing off to catch up with the bikers.
"Tuck, Ella, I think I can use you two for this mission after all," Ryder continued. "I know you're not the Mighty Pups right now, but I do need you two to look out for the safety of our town and its people. Do anything you have to do!"
"Let's think BIG!" Ella called out as she and her heroic twin brother drove off to do just that.
"After them, Chase!" Ryder called back to his brave police dog.
"Chase is on the case!" Chase replied as he sped off in hot pursuit of the Ruff-Ruff Pack.
By the time it was safe for Mayor Goodway to come back outside, it was getting closer to sunset. "Oh, if only those pups had listened to me and just been content with my ideas of reading to small children at the library, or planting flowers!" she sobbed.
"Do you honestly think they were going to do that?" Francois asked. "Not criticizing you, of course. Just an observation."
"I'm not sure there's any way to rightly remedy that rigmarole," Captain Turbot added. "These bodacious bikers are bad to the bone!"
The pups continued onward to save the day, never giving up the fight. But was there any hope left, or would the Ruff-Ruff Pack be bad biker pups forever? Nobody really would know the answer to that.
